For Insomnia "I love Nytol. I take half the dose just a couple of times a week to ensure a good night's sleep. Been doing this for 10 years. Takes a couple of hours to work, but love that I can relax in bed reading or watching TV, knowing I won't have to stress about trying to get to sleep and that before I know it, I'll be sparko!"

For Insomnia "I've been taking Nytol one-a-night for a week now, as I was struggling to fall asleep despite being tired, and when I did sleep, I'd be up and down all night. From starting Nytol, it has helped me sleep through the night, but I often wake up very late (around 11 a.m.) and it takes me hours to fall asleep. I try to take one tablet at around 10 p.m., and then I'm having to take another at around 11:30 p.m. to midnight, as I feel tired and groggy but lay in bed for hours trying to sleep. Clearly, Nytol doesn't work for getting me to sleep, it just leaves me feeling groggy throughout the day after sleeping from around 3 or 4 a.m. through to 11 a.m., so, in the end, I'm not getting more sleep than I'm supposed to, I've just changed my sleeping hours."

For Insomnia "I take Nytol one a night (50 mg) once or twice a week. I usually fall asleep and wake up 4-6 times in the night, and if I'm lucky, lightly doze. I take Nytol at 7 pm, and by 8:30 pm, I'm very drowsy. I get 4 hours of sleep before the first wake (normal), but after going to the loo and back to bed, I go straight back to sleep for another 2 or 3 hours. This is brilliant for me. I can then usually doze for another 2 hours, which is even better, and get up at 8 am - 9 am (I start work at 10 am, so this is fine for me). I have had the fuzziness in the morning, which is why I started taking it earlier, as I find leaving 14 hours between taking the tablet and having to be 'with it' is the right amount of time for me. Taking every night reduces their effectiveness, and they will work differently on different bodies. I took it at weekends initially to find out how they affected me before working out a routine."

For Insomnia "I find Nytol works really well for me. I’ve read some of the negative reviews, and as a psychotherapist, I feel some may need more than help to sleep. I have recommended Nytol to some family and friends."

For Insomnia "I tried Nytol for insomnia as I hate sleeping tablets. The first night had no effect whatsoever. The second night they helped me to sleep, but then again I was very tired before I took them. The third night they worked for 4 hours, after which I lay awake for the rest of the night. I really think they work if one is very tired but not when one has had a stressful day."

For Insomnia "I took one Nytol last night. I won't do so again. Like other posts on here, I was still wide awake at 4 a.m. I also had restless legs, and my arms and hands felt like they were aching through to the bone."

For Insomnia "I was a few bottles of wine a night person and slept fine, but I needed to stop that, and that's when insomnia kicked in. I can't afford to be awake at 6:30 a.m., so I looked into options. The Nytol 50 mg didn't work very well on its own, so I used an online chemist and ordered 3 mg Melatonin. These don't work that great on their own either, but then I tried both together, and you are out like a boxer being hit on the jaw. I also took L-Theanine 400 mg 4 hours before sleep, as this amino acid helps calm the brain. I did this because the slight initial grogginess of the sleep tablets could be counteracted by taking the amino acid L-Tyrosine in the morning, and the L-Theanine counteracts it, but you have a very awake and alert day, so you can be productive."

For Insomnia "I've found Nytol to be very good. They do help me with my sleep anxiety. The only problem I have is after a few nights of taking them, I struggle with fatigue during the day. For me, there seems to be a buildup, and I feel drowsy all day. Overall good, but just as a very short-term solution."

For Insomnia "It works great for me, it helps me fall asleep. Even if I wake up during the night, I easily fall back asleep quickly. One thing, though: it gives me the weirdest dreams (sometimes they could even be described as nightmares, haha). It’s usually small fears I kind of forgot about or that I never knew I had. It can be quite entertaining and intriguing at times, but besides that, I don’t think I have any other side effects. I feel alright in the morning, and I can finally fall asleep before 1 a.m."

For Insomnia "I loved this product. After starting a new antidepressant for anxiety, I had the side effect of insomnia. I hadn’t slept well all week. I took 2 tablets last night and had the best night's sleep ever. These worked perfectly for me, as I don’t drink or smoke or consume caffeine. I also eat healthy and exercise regularly, so the insomnia had been really getting to me as I couldn’t do anything else to stop it. So thank you, Nytol."

"I use these when I’m feeling anxious due to work/personal problems and can’t sleep. The one-a-night version doesn’t work for me. The original version, where you take up to two tablets, is better! I drop off to sleep easily within 40 minutes and stay asleep. The only thing is, if I take two, I feel groggy the next day until lunchtime, so I often take 1 or 1 and a half unless I’m feeling very anxious. I’m 5’5” and weigh 68 kg for reference. All in all, great for fixing sleeping patterns and helping me to sleep when I’m anxious. No bad side effects at all."

For Insomnia "In the beginning, they worked well. Took whenever I felt the need, and it knocked me out. But after the pandemic, they don’t work at all, exactly the opposite, actually. They now make me feel wide awake. So alert that even my eyes feel fresh and awake before I’ve even slept. Having to get up at 6 am for work really doesn’t help, either. Today, I took a Nytol at 11 pm, and it’s now 4 am and I haven’t slept. I’m googling “does Nytol make me feel awake,” and it seems a lot of people react the same to it. Reading these reviews is useful because I know I’m not alone! Dry mouth, fuzzy headache, muscle cramps (from staying awake and trying to stay still), and thumping heart. I just wish I knew what the solution is. I have tried going to the docs, but they are reluctant to prescribe anything, so I’m stuck in limbo. If anyone knows any over-the-counter alternatives, please tell me!"

For Insomnia "Complete waste of money. I'm a chronic insomniac. The side effects are terrible. Itchy, painful legs, tachycardia, and shakes in arms and unsteady legs. I need to go to the toilet more often, which is dangerous since I'm so shaky. I've not slept for 5 days solid while taking Nytol. This product should be taken off the market. Strongly advise to steer clear of it. I'm worse off now with tiredness and negative side effects."

For Insomnia "Wish I had read these reviews before trying Nytol. Took at 10:30 pm, an hour before I turn the light out… It’s now 1:11 am and I’m wide awake with restless legs! I can always fall asleep but only for 4 hours, then up for 2 hours. What is going on?"

For Insomnia "I started using these about a month ago as I've had problems sleeping for ages. I took 25 mg before bed. And yes, these work. You'll not only sleep better, but you'll wake up feeling drugged and exhausted for hours after you wake - even on this small dose. Not only that, but I believe this drug also triggered really bad heart palpitations. They say that side effect is rare, but I'm not so sure. Taking this drug, in my opinion, will make you worse off than if you don't take it. Try other methods to get to sleep that aren't drug taking. I seriously couldn't believe how this drug made me feel. You do not wake up fresh. You wake up feeling drugged and groggy, and that can last all day. Will not take any more."

For Insomnia "I have had trouble sleeping for a few days, so my GP recommended OTC medication. I tried Nytol one night. I managed to drift off to sleep but woke after 3 hours. Then slept on and off for the remainder of the night. I won't be taking this medication again, as I don't see any benefit, really."

For Insomnia "I suffer badly from constant vertigo/giddiness. After trying a prescribed item from my doctor, which made my giddiness unbearable in the morning, I tried Nytol. Only use half the prescribed dose, but had the best night's sleep I can remember. Feel refreshed this morning, a feeling I haven't felt for years. A flash in the pan...? I don't discount that, but so far delighted with Nytol's effect."

For Insomnia "I was very stressed due to work commitments and was not sleeping at night, constantly thinking about work. I took 1 tablet 2 hours before going to sleep, and I got the best sleep. I highly recommend. Strange how the reviews are so bad. What I can say is you do wake up feeling a bit groggy, but it does subside after about an hour, and it makes my mouth feel very dry, but I will be continuing to take it as I’m getting a really good night's sleep."

For Insomnia "I have difficulties sleeping through the whole night without waking up a few times, also difficulties falling asleep. Tried Nytol 50mg for the first time, and the next whole day I felt disconnected from myself and half awake. I did things I don't remember, like sending messages that made no sense to someone. It works, but it is too strong a medicine for me."

For Insomnia "I took 8 of these tablets, and I'm still tired. They do not work. 8 tablets in 2 hours and not a chance of going to sleep. Whatever is in here is useless. I should have been lying like a brick - but instead, I'm typing this. I also took some weed gummies, and they do a little better - but Nytol is just a waste of time and money. 3 days of no decent sleep, and right now I should be close, so tired - but I'm still awake. Don't waste your time or money on Nytol... not worth a nickel, not worth a penny."

For Insomnia "I have mild, occasional insomnia, always in and around a full moon. Decided to try Nytol. Bad mistake. I tossed and turned, and my legs took on a life of their own as Restless Leg Syndrome completely took over me. My legs danced a jig worthy of Riverdance as I struggled to contain them and try to find sleep. The remaining Nytol tablets went straight into the bin this morning. Insomnia is one thing - out of control legs is another thing completely."

For Insomnia "Use this regularly to help with my irregular work shift patterns. I take 100 mg, and within 40 minutes, I start to feel drowsy enough to sleep. Yes, it gives a dry mouth and some fogginess in the morning at times, but this brand is well worth using for insomnia. Outcome may vary for others."

For Insomnia "I'm so disappointed that it is not working. I took a full capful of Nytol caramel-flavored liquid and feel wide awake and restless. Usually, I can lie awake quietly listening to my husband snoring, but tonight I tossed and turned so much that I woke him... quite an achievement. Don't waste your money. Take a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit to bed instead!"
