For Insomnia "I had been suffering from insomnia and restless legs, so the doctor gave me a week's course of sleeping tablets, which obviously worked brilliantly. When they were gone, I went back to no sleep all night once again, so I tried Nytol as a last resort. I have taken two an hour before I want to sleep for two days now, and they have absolutely done the trick. I'm surprised, to be honest, because most of the reviews are so poor! They make me feel relaxed, and before I know it, I'm asleep. It's wonderful! I did have a slight headache the next day, but no dry mouth and only very minor drowsiness in the morning. I highly recommend them, and I'm so glad to have found something that works."

For Insomnia "I bought these Nytol from Boots, and the man behind the counter, the pharmacist, didn't even ask me any questions. They do work, but I have anxiety and a history of panic attacks. These made me panic because I was going off to sleep, but because I knew it was from the tablet, I panicked and felt out of control. I felt shaky and had two panic attacks. These make you feel very strange in a way that isn't nice. That normal internal chatter you have in your head is cut off, so you are relaxed but feel disconnected from yourself. They make you feel drowsy and not alert. Also gave me diarrhea. So overall, horrible experience."

For Insomnia "First off, I read the instructions on the box, which says two things! Firstly, you can take one an hour before you go to bed (mistake), as it won't work that fast and you're even more awake because you're waiting for the effects! Now, the second point they make is much more advisable, where you take one probably around, I would say, 6 pm, as it gives your body much more time to acclimatize to the product. For me, I only took one just before I went to bed, but it's much more of a delayed reaction, so I found that I was quite groggy the next day (mistake). So, it definitely works, and I had a few funny dreams, but who cares? Probably try not to lay in bed too much when night becomes day and get yourself into a good pattern, as you will be trying to overcompensate with Nytol."

For Insomnia "Nytol did not help my insomnia. A waste of money. I don't know how the company dares to make the claims it does in its adverts in the UK. The problem with the product has a warning that it may make you feel drowsy - if only it did."

For Insomnia "When taking Nytol, I experienced a lot of drowsiness and got to sleep fairly quickly, however, it seems to 'wear off' and cause me to wake up in the middle of the night every time I have taken it. It also seems to cause tiredness in the day. I wouldn't take this again."

For Insomnia "I tried 50 mg Nytol a few times a few months ago. I didn't have a great experience with it, I woke up a few times during the night and felt awful the next day, very groggy. After 2 or 3 nights, I stopped using it. However, I read a review of someone saying they used the 25 mg tablets and had a better experience trying the lower dose. I tried half a tablet and had a much better experience. I got to sleep quite easily (I took it around an hour before going to bed), woke a little during the night, but only to go to the bathroom, and woke up feeling fine. No groggy feelings the next day, I'm going to continue with half tablets and see if this continues!"

For Insomnia "It has stopped me from waking in the night worrying about things, and I do feel more relaxed the next day. Not drowsy like I thought it would be. It doesn’t feel intense when I take it, but it does the job and doesn’t make me feel groggy in the morning. I would really recommend it if you need a long sleep with no interruptions."

For Insomnia "First box of Nytol One A Day worked pretty well but then I bought another box a few months later and it gave me severe migraines, a bit of vomiting, and made me drowsy. Alright, but the sickness, restlessness, and sudden anxiety kept me awake. It's happened for the 6th night in a row, so I'll have to try something else."

"I go through phases where I am a restless sleeper and will sleep very little or not at all, which has a negative impact on my physical and mental health. But after going to the pharmacy and getting Nytol, it has eliminated my sleeplessness and helps me switch off into a deep sleep. I’ve taken them five times and only once felt groggy the next day, but that morning was a 4:30 am start, and I took the tablet later than normal. Thus far, I’ve had a very positive experience with them."

For Insomnia "I started taking half a tablet before bed, for a long time, I've had poor sleep, and these tablets work - a bit too well. You sleep better, but they also have left me feeling so groggy and sleepy the next day, sort of drugged feeling. I know because I skipped one night - didn't take any - and the next day I felt normal. Then, the next night, half a tablet again before bed, and all day the next day very sleepy - so sleepy you struggle to do anything. I also take beta blockers, so this could be the reason. Who knows. But they work. If you haven't taken them before, I advise you to only take half a tablet before bed rather than a whole one, and you might need caffeine to wake up a bit the next day."

For Insomnia "Knocked me right out! I took it to try and sort out my “body clock,” as I wasn’t getting to sleep until about 4 a.m. I took it at 9:30 p.m. and was asleep by 10:15 p.m. It did cause some very vivid dreams, and I woke up a few times in the night. I also felt quite groggy in the morning, like I couldn’t wake up properly. However, it did get me to sleep, so I’ll be using it again."

For Insomnia "I've been taking Nytol one-a-night for a week now, as I was struggling to fall asleep despite being tired, and when I did sleep, I'd be up and down all night. From starting Nytol, it has helped me sleep through the night, but I often wake up very late (around 11 a.m.) and it takes me hours to fall asleep. I try to take one tablet at around 10 p.m., and then I'm having to take another at around 11:30 p.m. to midnight, as I feel tired and groggy but lay in bed for hours trying to sleep. Clearly, Nytol doesn't work for getting me to sleep, it just leaves me feeling groggy throughout the day after sleeping from around 3 or 4 a.m. through to 11 a.m., so, in the end, I'm not getting more sleep than I'm supposed to, I've just changed my sleeping hours."

For Insomnia "I was a few bottles of wine a night person and slept fine, but I needed to stop that, and that's when insomnia kicked in. I can't afford to be awake at 6:30 a.m., so I looked into options. The Nytol 50 mg didn't work very well on its own, so I used an online chemist and ordered 3 mg Melatonin. These don't work that great on their own either, but then I tried both together, and you are out like a boxer being hit on the jaw. I also took L-Theanine 400 mg 4 hours before sleep, as this amino acid helps calm the brain. I did this because the slight initial grogginess of the sleep tablets could be counteracted by taking the amino acid L-Tyrosine in the morning, and the L-Theanine counteracts it, but you have a very awake and alert day, so you can be productive."

For Insomnia "I've found Nytol to be very good. They do help me with my sleep anxiety. The only problem I have is after a few nights of taking them, I struggle with fatigue during the day. For me, there seems to be a buildup, and I feel drowsy all day. Overall good, but just as a very short-term solution."

"I use these when I’m feeling anxious due to work/personal problems and can’t sleep. The one-a-night version doesn’t work for me. The original version, where you take up to two tablets, is better! I drop off to sleep easily within 40 minutes and stay asleep. The only thing is, if I take two, I feel groggy the next day until lunchtime, so I often take 1 or 1 and a half unless I’m feeling very anxious. I’m 5’5” and weigh 68 kg for reference. All in all, great for fixing sleeping patterns and helping me to sleep when I’m anxious. No bad side effects at all."

For Insomnia "I started using these about a month ago as I've had problems sleeping for ages. I took 25 mg before bed. And yes, these work. You'll not only sleep better, but you'll wake up feeling drugged and exhausted for hours after you wake - even on this small dose. Not only that, but I believe this drug also triggered really bad heart palpitations. They say that side effect is rare, but I'm not so sure. Taking this drug, in my opinion, will make you worse off than if you don't take it. Try other methods to get to sleep that aren't drug taking. I seriously couldn't believe how this drug made me feel. You do not wake up fresh. You wake up feeling drugged and groggy, and that can last all day. Will not take any more."

For Insomnia "I was very stressed due to work commitments and was not sleeping at night, constantly thinking about work. I took 1 tablet 2 hours before going to sleep, and I got the best sleep. I highly recommend. Strange how the reviews are so bad. What I can say is you do wake up feeling a bit groggy, but it does subside after about an hour, and it makes my mouth feel very dry, but I will be continuing to take it as I’m getting a really good night's sleep."
