For Cough "I have used the kid version with success for my children. It does work well to stop a dry cough. It lasts 8 hours, rather than 12. Unfortunately, the last time I used it for my child, she ended up dry heaving for hours and had a bout of explosive diarrhea. It stopped once the medicine wore off (about 8 hours after her dose)."

For Cough "I was a little nervous to take this medication after reading all the negative reviews about horrible diarrhea and nausea. I suffer from IBS, gastritis, GERD, and endometriosis, so my intestines are an absolute mess. I am usually very sensitive to medications, but I was willing to risk it due to having a horrible cough from a virus of some sort. I have been sick for days, and the cough was keeping me up at night, so I gave it a go. Delsym worked absolute wonders for me! Slept all night with no cough and never had any kind of negative effect on my GI system. I would highly recommend this medication if you have a nagging cough."

For Cough "I realize everyone is different, but I'd like to share what happened to me after taking two small sips of Delsym. I had a cough that was driving me crazy, so my wife goes out and buys this. I had never taken it, and my wife assured me that it was good stuff. I ended up taking two small sips from the bottle-definitely less than the recommended dose-and just like everyone else, I got diarrhea. While on the toilet, I started feeling nauseous and felt like I was going to puke. Next thing I know, my head was on the floor upside down, I passed out and had no idea what happened. I picked myself back up (I'm still on the toilet, by the way) and started sweating profusely. I turned to puke in the tub and passed out again, banging my head so hard my wife heard it downstairs. I picked myself up again, and in about 2-3 minutes, I started feeling okay. Just a warning, folks, from a guy that's healthy, doesn't do drugs, and isn't on any sort of medications at all."

For Cough "Have COVID and could not sleep due to excessive coughing, and this worked like a charm. Was able to sleep wonderfully the next night. Later on in the morning, after I took the daytime dose, I started having anxiety throughout the day. I was having small bouts of panic attacks, did not know where that was coming from. I know my body was stressed and under a lot of pressure, but this was different. I took only half the recommended dose that following evening and woke up two hours later with a panic attack, sleeping? I decided not to take it today. I have not had one since. Also, yes, with the stomach, diarrhea did happen to me also."

For Cough "I took Delsym when I had the flu a few months ago, and it gave me the runs and made me feel funny. When I told my mom, who’s a nurse, she chalked it up to the flu leaving my body. I took Delsym again today to get rid of a very slight cough, and it gave me the same runs and serious dizziness. I was even dizzy in bed. When I had to rush to use the bathroom, the room seemed to spin. I’ve NEVER had this reaction to OTC cough medicine. Delsym is the first and hopefully last."

For Cough "After I felt the early symptoms of a sore throat and cough, I picked up some Delsym Cold and Cough Nighttime since I had used the Delsym orange cough relief medicine before with some success. This formula was definitely a mistake. I took the first dose yesterday afternoon, and by yesterday evening I had loose stools and vomiting, but my first thought was maybe a virus on top of the cold... took the second dose in the early morning of today after coughing uncontrollably all night. Again, I was vomiting and still coughing. After the third dose and the same result this afternoon, I decided to do a little research and found these reviews. So glad I did. Never again!!"

For Cough "Been using this for about 7-8 years now. Unlike the sugar-laced alcohol that is in most cough syrup, this stuff is the best. Takes about 45 minutes before it starts working, but after that, no more cough. In regard to diarrhea, no one in my family has had the experience described by some (or the same person posting over and over)."

For Cough "I took this medicine around midnight last night after being tired of trying to hold back a cough, and it worked pretty quickly. I also had hot water with lemon and honey, so that probably helped too. However, around 5:00 am, I woke up with severe cramping and diarrhea. I spent two hours running back and forth to the bathroom. I also experienced nausea and dizziness. But hey, it got rid of my cough... not worth it."

For Cough "Took 8 ml yesterday and felt okay, stopped my dry hacking cough, but woke up with a mild headache, which I attributed to coughing so hard the day before. Took another 8 ml about 14 hours after the last, and within an hour it gave me diarrhea and stomach pains. I also feel lightheaded. Drinking lots of water as it is excreted through urine. It worked, but not worth the side effects - I usually take child doses due to my size and weight, should have done that with this! If you are going to try this, start with half a dose and drink lots of water!"

For Cough "I recently came down with COVID, and this was suggested for the cough. About an hour and a half after taking, I went to bed. I proceeded to have terrorizing rapid random images fire off in my head all night long, and I’ve never done drugs, but I’m sure that’s what an acid trip feels like. I had to contend with these nonsensical weird images all night, as well as with severe nausea and diarrhea. Also, a terrible feeling of being overheated. It’s more than 14 hours later, and I still have remnants of the weirdness in my head, as well as gut issues. This medicine is very toxic! Do not take!!"

For Cough "I've used this product before with no problems. However, I took a dose at 6 AM this morning because of a nagging cough and have been extremely sick ever since. Horrible diarrhea, dizziness, and nausea. Sitting in bed with a trash can next to me, wishing that I would just throw up so I'd feel better. I hope this doesn't last 12 hours. I'm getting too old to waste a day in bed."

For Cough "I don't get sick often but I have been dealing with a cough for the last 24 hours...one that leaves me breathless because of the tickle in the back of my throat. I was also suffering with drainage for 2 days and couldn't take a decongestant so I thought I would try Delsym. Took it at bedtime and was still coughing, then around 2 am the diarrhea started. Will never take this again!"

For Cough "I have a hard time believing that there are so many people that are claiming diarrhea. I had no such experience. It also calms my cough. I have IBS, which affects the bowels very easily. I have also known other people that have used Delsym, and nobody has had this happen to them. It tastes better and really works. I have to say I suspect 1 or 2 people that had a bad experience have written multiple times to warn others. I hope people are going to more than one site to get reviews."
