Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’ve had trouble sleeping over the last few months (falling asleep and staying asleep), so my doctor recommended Quviviq 50mg. After reading the pamphlet that came along with the medication I cozied up and waited for a great nights sleep. And waited…holding onto hope I tried it a few times to see if it was a fluke, but after reading other reviews I am relieved to know it isn’t just me. And, the itching!! I’m glad I can pinpoint it now. Thankfully, I was put on Ambien which is more effective for me. The Quviviq also amplified my anxiety and depression. Maybe it affects others differently, but it definitely wasn’t for me. Hopefully you all have better results. Happy sleeping"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I have suffered from insomnia for quite some time and was prescribed Quviviq 50 mg. I have tried multiple sleep aids in the past and was hopeful this would work. Unfortunately, this medication has not helped, I am still up every hour and not even sleepy."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "This is my 5th night on Quviviq and so far I have not had a restful night's sleep. It seems to put me into a 20-minute loop of sleep followed by wakefulness. I might have to go back to my previous Trazodone and Doxepin mix."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "So I’ve tried numerous sleep medications and they all haven’t worked. Found the commercial for this and asked my dr for it. It’s the worst medicine I’ve ever taken. The medicine made me feel terrible within the first hour of taking it. I tried it 2 nights just to give it a fighting chance. The night terrors I experienced were horrible. I was screaming for help in my sleep and couldn’t open my eyes or move. It was terrifying. I also had such bad restless legs all night. I will never touch this medication again and will never recommend it to anyone. I would give it a negative rating if I could."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Horrible is the only thing I can say. I was so excited to get help sleeping. 1st night slept for 4 hours and woke up soaking wet, nightmares were awful, headaches and dry heaved all the next day, legs hurt, tongue-tingling felt worse than no sleep. But thought it was my body adapting to new meds. Tried next night and slept for one hour and. had nightmares again. I felt I needed to run and thought was being chased just to not be able to move. I dozed and woke up to bed soaked again from sweating and panic. Full terrified moment. Two days of bad side effects. Never taking again!!!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I've struggled with insomnia for years and have tried all types of sleeping aids including Ambien in both standard and extended-release, Seroquel (I'm bipolar), and melatonin. Whenever I took Ambien or Seroquel, I'd fall asleep within a reasonable timeframe, but I would wake up feeling like I had a hangover. And this was regardless of the dosage. Not much luck with melatonin either. Hydroxyzine has proven effective for falling asleep, but ineffective in maintaining it. My sleep doctor recommended Quviviq with hope it would improve my sleep as well as CPAP utilization. Quviviq proved helpful for me in getting a restful night's sleep with no morning hangover effects IF (emphasis on IF) I took it with Hydroxyzine. Despite being unable to fall asleep with Quviviq alone, I think it would be an effective sleep aid for most users with the added benefit of waking up rested and not hungover."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’ve been taking Trazadone for many years but sometimes still wake up in the middle of the night. My doctor prescribed Quviviq 50mg and it was horrible. I tossed and turned all night for five nights in a row and became a complete zombie without sleep. It was not effective at all and caused next-day anxiety. Back on trazadone."

For Insomnia "I was a little afraid after reading negative reviews. BUT Quviviq worked so fine for me, 6 hours of solid sleep on average with Dreams I can remember. A game-changer so far. My doctor told me not to take any Ambien or other BZD 5 nights before taking Quviviq to avoid nightmares. Was a little hard but totally worth it."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "The 50mg didn't really work but I found increasing the dose to two 50mg tablets works for me. I feel better the next day. My mood seems better, and I'm feeling a lot more positive! No known side effects so far! The only issue is my insurance doesn't want to cover it and it's too expensive to purchase without any help."

For Insomnia "1st night used 50mg....worked like a charm. I have tried everything on the market including cannabis which I am now slowly getting off for sleep. Cannabis worked great but too well in regards to lack of motivation and feeling like life was passing me by and I was just a bystander. This is only one night's experience but immediately I felt sleepy. I have not felt this way in years! Racing thoughts, racing memories, overly anxious for the past 40+ years. I hope I do not build up a tolerance to this drug and it continues to work but it appears many have had bad experiences or it doesn't work. Obviously, those patients who have overactive minds, mania this drug could possibly be a godsend. Terribly expensive but I was spending the same each month on medical cannabis and other prescriptions. Hope to get off of the rest and stick with Pristiq and this. Don't believe all the negative comments, some people have bad nighttime habits like TV, blue lights, eating, and too much caffeine etc. Better than"

For Insomnia "I have had trouble sleeping since I was 27. I am now 76. Anybody who knows me knows I do not sleep. Maybe two hours a night. I've tried everything in the book and then I did some research and found out that there's a mutant sleep gene, it's ADRB1, and it prevents your orexin, which is the gene that tells your brain to slow down and sleep, from shutting down. Even when I don't sleep, I'm never tired, never groggy, and don't dream. I have no side effects from taking 0.25 mg of zolpidem, which I only take if I feel I really want to sleep more than 2 hours. When I take the half of the 5 mg pill, I can feel it starting to calm my brain down, and within 20 minutes, I will fall asleep anywhere from 2 to 4 hours and wake up totally refreshed. I seem to function without sleep, which is amazing to anybody that knows me, just hard on the boyfriend, so we had to resort to two beds (boohoo). I'm going to start it Monday night and see what happens. Will update here. Wish me luck!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "This medication was supposed to help me take over from taking Ambien which wasn't effective anymore, but this medication is horrible. I have been on it for 8 nights and hasn't worked. I spoke to my primary doctor and just said to live with it till I see him in another week. Till then I am taking 50 mg of this product. After one night still no help. I feel this is a scam and has cost me a lot of money."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "This has got to be the world's most expensive placebo. It did absolutely nothing to help me sleep. After several days of not being able to sleep I went back to a muscle relaxer and a couple shots of whisky, this doesn't always get me to sleep the full night but I get to sleep quickly. The prescription was for 25mg, not sure if there are stronger dosages but it would have to be much more to help me."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I haven’t slept more than 3 hours at a time and average 4-5 hours a night for the past few years. I retired 8 years ago so I’m not worried about next day tiredness but chronic insomnia is no fun. Tried many Rx sleep meds and was hoping that something new would help. First time I took a 25mg dose, I fell asleep in 30 minutes, woke up at 3 am and instead of being wide awake, I was tired and able to fallback to sleep. Second time I was awake for 2 hours before falling asleep and when I woke up at 3, I laid in bed wide awake for 2 hours and then got up for the day. Next time, same issues. This medication seems like a placebo to me. Maybe it works for people with mild sleep issues but not for my chronic insomnia."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Quviviq must be taken in exact circumstances, and if you’re not extremely exhausted, you won’t be asleep more than 3 to 4 hours tops. This med needs a stronger dose or a way the patient can fix it to best suit us. Like, make a 30mg, a 20mg, and a 10 mg pill."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Does not work at all. Calling my Dr. Monday morning to prescribe something more effective. Was prescribed 25 mg and had to up it to 50mg on my own and still doesn't work. I'm going to ask for Ambien and try my luck with that one. . Don't waste your time."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I just had surgery and have had difficulty sleeping. Maybe this is too powerful for me because I slept 12 hours but was tired the next day, even taking sleep apnea medication. Sticking to herbal melatonin mixture. I was a zombie. Terrible headaches, but I take other CNS depressants, so not a good fit. Unfortunately, I slept like a baby on the pain medication post-op but they are taboo. Closing my eyes. Good luck, everyone- I can’t find the right mix since my 3 spine surgeries- I thought this worked, but old symptoms returned. Bummed!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Long history of insomnia. After trying other meds such as Ambien, Doxepin, Lunesta, Trazodone, and Hydroxyzine without success, I thought I would try Quviviq. Used 25 mg for 2 nights so far. Less time falling asleep, waking up a lot, but able to fall back asleep. Don't feel as if I'm sleeping very deep yet. However, I am waking up refreshed. Will stick with it for a few weeks to see the full effect and/or if I need a higher dose. My insurance does not cover, so I was able to get my first fill for free through the manufacturer's pharmacy. Refills will be $25.00."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I am using QUVIVIQ as an alternative to Ambien. I do not feel that it works as well as Ambien, but it does work. I don't feel that I sleep as deeply as I did on Ambien, but I do feel rested. My side effects have been minimal, with only an increase in occasional constipation - at times somewhat severe. However, the absolute WORST thing about QUVIVIQ is the pharmacy they force you to use. Their website rarely works and is very basic. Their customer service line (everything requires a phone call - mostly because the website is almost useless) is typically backed up with a long wait. Often times I have to call multiple times for the same issue, which is usually just trying to get my refill processed. This past month it took 3 phone calls, 2 texts and 12 days to finally get the refill processed after being promised expedited processing during each call. It is very frustrating! I hesitantly will recommend this drug, but only because it does work, although I'm not sure the hassle is worth it."

For Insomnia "I am on the fence with this drug. I don't feel that it works any different to melatonin. I have done 10 days so far with a couple of nights break. I've recorded how many times I wake, and it's still 4/5 times. It has only made me feel drowsy once in those 10 nights, and I had taken melatonin as well. Doesn't feel like a wonder drug, but it wasn't prescribed to me as that. I've had sleep issues for about 8 years. The main issue being trying to get to sleep, anxiety, heart racing, never feeling tired, never yawning (but body needing asleep and rest). I feel sad it didn't give me the tiredness I wanted to feel. I will give it another 20 days as that's what I was given. I get so much anxiety at the thought of trying to sleep. Getting up, I do go back to sleep and was able to before this drug. The bottom line being really that this has no effect on me. The dreams are funky, very current on what's going on in life and memorable - no side effects luckily!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I was very hopeful about Quviviq! It took a couple of weeks to take effect. I saw some slight improvement at first, but it didn't really address my main problem, which is staying asleep. I tend to wake up every night around 4:00 AMish, and then I toss and turn until I just give up trying. I'm thinking about going back to Lunesta."

For Insomnia "71-year-old female with 3-month history of insomnia (total lack of sleep 3-4 nights/week). One 50 mg dose every evening at 10 pm produced no help in falling or staying asleep. I've only been taking daridorexant for 4 nights and will continue until tomorrow when I contact my primary care doctor for his recommendation on continuing for a few more nights. Fairly disappointed that this relatively new drug is ineffective in producing any drowsiness."
