For Insomnia "I have never been so disappointed. I have been on Ambien for at least 12 years. I shared with my doctor that Ambien was no longer as effective as it used to be, which I thought!! It was suggested that I try Quviviq, which was a huge mistake. It takes at minimum 1-1.5 hours to get to sleep. Then the nightmares begin to overcome what little rest I get. At that point, I’m up again. I would absolutely NOT recommend this medication. Extremely disappointed."

For Insomnia "I've been taking 50 mg Quviviq at night for insomnia. I was previously on Ambien and before that, Trazodone (trash). It doesn't matter when or what time I take Quviviq, it will not put me to sleep and will not make me tired. It does, however, calm me down at night. So, I take 10 mg melatonin to put me to sleep, and Quviviq does really well at keeping me asleep. Melatonin alone fails to get me a full night's sleep and on its own may get me to sleep fast but wake up after 2 or 3 hours feeling rested but then crashing. This is where Quviviq does well at keeping me asleep. The worst side effect (not that big a deal to me) is nightmares and very, VERY realistic dreams. I suppose this means that Quviviq is doing a good job at putting me into REM sleep. I'm not disappointed with this drug, although it does seem kind of weak considering I was on 25 mg that doesn't work and upped my dosage to 50 mg a night. I don't have other side effects. It does offer another way to sleep when my other drugs exhaust."

For Insomnia "This was absolutely horrible. The nightmares were so real and terrifying with sleep paralysis. I had a similar experience with Belsomra, but this was way worse. I felt like I had been fighting for my life all night. I had read the reviews of people having this same experience, but I wanted to keep an open mind and try it anyway. One night was enough. Never again."

For Insomnia "This is the worst sleeping medication ever. It takes over an hour to kick in, then all it does is give horrible nightmares. After a week, I started having sleep paralysis and a dream-within-a-dream experience. I do not recommend."

For Insomnia "I had a horrible experience with this medication supposedly prescribed to help me sleep. I started having what I can only describe as a bad LSD-type of 'trip,' which had a head rush like a freight train in my brain. I couldn’t get out of the nightmares and feeling like there was an evil presence that kept grabbing at my legs. I tried to wake up and tell my wife what was happening, but I couldn’t talk or form the words. I will never allow myself to be under the influence of this medication, which robbed me of a peaceful mental state and sleep. Beware of this medication. I was freaked out by the side effects until 4 a.m. when the major effect began to wear off. I quickly got out of bed to reorient myself with reality. My heart was beating in tune with the mental flashes caused by this drug. I will never take Quviviq again."

For Insomnia "The nightmares were not even listed on the insert. Once I fall into a deep sleep, I have vivid nightmares that last all night. I wake up at 3-4 o'clock daily, and if I go back to sleep, a new terror starts. Last night, my family was in The Walking Dead. NOPE, back to Lunesta."

For Insomnia "Been on Ambien. Works great. No problems. Dr. decided to stop prescribing class 3 and 4 meds at his office. I asked for Quviviq because of the commercial. What a mistake. I haven’t slept for 3 days since I started it. Can’t fall asleep for 4-5 hours. When I finally fall asleep in the early morning, I’m awakened often by nightmares, headaches, and body pain from constantly trying to get comfortable. Then I have to be up for work. Massive migraine every morning. Feel dizzy and lightheaded all day. I am stopping the awful stuff today."

For Insomnia "Worst drug ever! I have taken Ambien for 6 years. I thought it was working well. Talked to doctors, and they sold me on this miracle drug that would keep me asleep! Nope. Kept me awake! Nightmares. Only took it for 3 nights. Will not take it again! If I could give negative stars, I would!!"

For Insomnia "Horrible is the only thing I can say. I was so excited to get help sleeping. 1st night, slept for 4 hours and woke up soaking wet. Nightmares were awful, headaches, and dry heaved all the next day. Legs hurt, tongue tingling felt worse than no sleep. But thought it was my body adapting to new meds. Tried the next night and slept for one hour and had nightmares again. I felt I needed to run and thought I was being chased just to not be able to move. I dozed and woke up to bed soaked again from sweating and panic. Full terrified moment. Two days of bad side effects. Never taking again!!!"

For Insomnia "I've been taking Quviviq for 2 months now. It seems to work, but I'm having terrible nightmares, and it makes me scared of the dark like I'm a child again. It's really strange, I've been sleeping with a night light on for the last few weeks, and I'm in my 50s."

For Insomnia "I had tried everything for sleep, including Lunesta and Ambien, and they would never help me sleep at all. When it’s time to go to bed, I always have racing thoughts, and that’s one of the reasons I can’t sleep. Since I started Quviviq, I can finally sleep again. Once it kicks in, it’s almost impossible for me to have racing thoughts, and that’s the reason I can sleep so well. I have tried so many sleeping medications, and Quviviq has by far worked the best for me. The only thing I don’t like about Quviviq is the very vivid, scary dreams. I very rarely have scary, vivid dreams when I sleep, but since I started the med, I have had very scary dreams. But it seems as my body is getting used to the medication. They are slowly going away. Also, my insurance doesn’t cover it, so it’s very expensive."

For Insomnia "This was horrible. If I slept, it was short periods with vivid nightmares waking me up. Body hurts, legs restless. Sleepy all the next day, worse than if I'm awake all night with no meds. This drug was overly advertised. I just spent 7 days with no sleep as I was told it would get better, which it never did nightmare."
