Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "So I took this medication at 50 mg with Klonopin 1 mg as my Dr prescribed. Pharmacist had questions next day that my Dr would prescribe such a combination, when I told them I went through sleep paralysis that night they refused to refill my Klonopin and get ahold of my Dr. I thought an intruder entered my home and literally went up stairs and then came back down and was literally a cm from my face staring at me. Seemed so real I went up stairs and checked on my grandmother to make sure it wasn't real. Overall a horrible scary experience with an intruder and then when I fell back asleep I turned the opposite way where I was staring at closed blinds and when I woke back up the middle blinds randomly were open and the intruder was staring through them. Scary ass experience but we'll see how it goes tonight without the Klonopin so far I'ma give this a 3 star but if I keep seeing things I'm gonna stop taking it and go to lunesta or Ambien cr which have none of these side effects for me"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "It helps me without any bad side effects. I do have vivid dreams, but I was taking trazadone before and it does the same thing. It took 3 weeks before it did anything. I noticed if you don’t take it consistently or your refill comes later than expected, it takes another 3 weeks to get the effects again. I did stop taking it for awhile, but I didn’t have withdrawal at all."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Night 1. I took the whole sleeping pill before going to bed. Every time I approached dream sleep, I would WAKE UP....so I was constantly being awakened just at the moment when I was trying to get rest. Every nerve in my brain felt like it was on fire. I got up the next day feeling drugged -- and I mean DRUGGED. I didn't start to feel semi-normal until late afternoon. Night 2 (the following week). I took half a pill before bed to see if the dosage was the problem. Same thing: I was awakened every time I approached REM sleep; my brain felt on fire again; got up with a terrible headache. A friend of mine had returned from South Africa and was jet-lagged; he said he needed a good night's sleep. I said I had some Quvivic....he was welcome to try one, but informed him that I had had negative reactions from it, but it might work perfectly for him since body chemistries are different. He had exactly the same experience as I did"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "At first I thought this was great. It did take at least two hours before I fell asleep. But dreams were turning into vivid nightmares. After three weeks on it I was groggy & totally dysfunctional the next day. I would rather not sleep than feel how I do on them."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I wanted to share a positive review as there are more negative reviews here. I think most people only make reviews when it’s bad. The most common side effects of this drug are sleepiness and headaches. I have taken it for two nights so far. The first night, I fell asleep within half an hour but woke up 4 hours later. I was a little frustrated and tossed and turned for a while but did fall back to sleep. I felt a little groggy the next day. I tried it again the next night and fell asleep within 45 minutes. I woke up once during the night, but it was very brief and I fell back to sleep until 6:30 am. I felt very rested the next day. I did have vivid dreams, but I always do and then I mostly forget them throughout the day. I think this medicine will get better each night and I am hopeful it will reset my sleeping patterns. Barely any side effects!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I wish I would have read these reviews first and dealt with the ambien that only half worked. First couple of uses of 50 mg took about two hours to fall asleep. Intermittent deep sleep with disturbing dreams. Waking at times to see things that weren’t there. Groggy with headaches next day. Tonight I had three terrifying vivid nightmares. Fall asleep, wake up terrified after A half hour of deep sleep , then same cycle again. Than nightmares within nightmares. I thought my husband was trying to attack me and when he shook me to wake me up because I was screaming but paralyzed, it took me nearly 10 minutes to figure out what was real and what was dream. This was not listed as a side effect and if it was, it was lighthearted and vague. Needless to say I flushed the pills and am typing this review. I’d rather be tired tomorrow, which I will anyway than be too afraid to sleep."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I have Graves' disease that causes severe insomnia. I've taken just about every prescription sleeping medication available, and at times more than one. Quviviq is the only one I've found that not only doesn't make me feel hungover or groggy the next day, but makes me feel well-rested and almost energized. I've been averaging 3-4 hours of sleep for the last 5+ years until my doctor had me try Quviviq. Now I average 6-8 hours every night. I'm so thankful for this drug."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Not sure what is up with the negative reviews. Everyone is different and metabolizes differently. This is my second month on it and I am on 50 mg. The only side effects I had were a headache for about a week or two, and then nothing else. However, it does take me at least two hours to fall asleep after taking the medication, and that is the only downside for me. I do not have any other side effects, other than taking a while to fall asleep. I was on Ambien for a few years and the side effects from that are way worse than what they are with this medication. With Ambien, I used to go downstairs, make food, text on my phone, and do online shopping without remembering any of it. This medication takes at least 3 to 4 weeks to fully start working. I don't have any complaints about this medication other than not being able to fall asleep for a couple of hours. I do not wake up groggy or tired, and once I'm fully awake, I am fully functional. Like I said, everyone is different."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I was hesitant to try this based on the reviews, but research shows the sleep paralysis is 0.3 percent of studies. It actually worked. I’ve only tried it one night and mixed it with melatonin but was able to sleep for the first night through the night in a month. Had weird dreams but not bad dreams. Get a coupon from the website and don’t let the pharmacy tell you it’s not valid if insurance denies because that’s not true. Try this drug, seriously, don’t give up hope if it doesn’t make you drowsy. You will drift off to sleep, might take a minute, like probably an hour, then you will be out for the night. Supposed to get better every time"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Unlike a lot of others on this review site; I had previously not been taking any sleep medication. I work shift work and the shift from nights back to days was always tough and I would typically go in on my first day back with 90 minutes of sleep. This drug is incredible. I am no longer a zombie at work the first 2 or 3 days. It usually takes 2 nights to work for me, then it works great, so plan for that (I wouldn’t use it as a one off treatment). I do get slightly groggy on days I go a full 50mg dose."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Does not work at all. The first night it seemed like it worked even though I had a drink with it, just one, not more. Every other night it has hardly worked at all and I’m about 6 days into it. I’m lucky to get 3 hours on it. I wake up and cannot fall back asleep. I’m so disappointed."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Worst drug ever! I have taken Ambien for 6 years. I thought it was working well. Talk to doctors and they sold me on this miracle drug that would keep me a sleep! Nope. Kept me awake! Nightmares. Only took for 3 nights. Will not take it again! If I could give negative stars I would!!"

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "MD prescribed Quivivq to replace Ambian. Paid nearly $300.00 for it and the med was worthless. I tried it for 4 nights and slept none. I think that I should be reimbursed for paying that much for a noneffective med. Have insomnia? Don't waste your money on this drug."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’ve read a lot of bad reviews here. Fortunately, I read them AFTER trying Quviviq. I was taking Klonopin before. It worked great and knocked me out for 8 hours, but is addictive and extremely difficult to get off of. My doctor gave me free samples of Quviviq, Dayvigo, and Belsomra. All of them work well for me but are extremely expensive. My doctor found a pharmacy that sells Quviviq for $90/ month. I also found that Merck has a program to get Belsomra for free. I’m alternating these two medications. Davigo worked best but is too expensive."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Horrible experience with this drug after going through hurdles to get my insurance to cover it. It’s $500-600 a month! The first night seemed fine. I got to sleep relatively fast and slept ok for a few hours. Second and subsequent weeks I slept in 1.5-hour intervals with vivid dreams and in a weird state of zombie (not fully asleep but not fully awake) horrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy! So much for the celebrity endorsements they must be laughing all the way to the bank. I can see people possibly sleepwalking with this drug. Was so expecting this to be the magic bullet but heck NO!!! I’m surprised they haven’t recalled this given the ineffectiveness, cost, and potential danger. Please think carefully before you have your doctor. prescribe this."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Quviviq did not work for me at all. I tried it for 30 days hoping it would eventually work but it never did. I started with 25 mg and then tried 50 mg. It would take 3-4 hours to fall asleep and then I did not sleep soundly. My legs have been hurting so bad and I could not figure out why until I read some of these reviews. I stopped taking this drug. I’d rather not be able to sleep than to deal with this."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I have been using Quviviq for a month now. Not every night. About three days a week. I have found it to be very helpful for me. It's not as heavy and intense as Ambien. I don't have bad side effects or feel sluggish the next day. It has definitely helped me sleep. I'm glad to be using this instead of something like Ambien which is so close to a Benzo. Glad I found it."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I have taken this drug for 2 1/2 weeks to help me get asleep. It still takes me and hour or more to get asleep. The day after I have a headache and feel sleepy, taking several naps. I don’t like feeling dopey all day. I take 50 mg."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’ve struggled with insomnia for years and my doctor prescribed this two months ago and it is not effective at all! It takes hours to fall asleep and then my sleep is light and broken with boughs of wakefulness throughout the night. I don’t know what research this drug was based on but it is absolute crap! Will be switching to something else asap."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’ve been taking it for a little over a week… So far not much benefit but I understand you’re supposed to take it for a couple of weeks before you start getting the full effect. My side effects are a really bad headache, night sweats, and waking up two or three times. My dose is 50 mg. The best thing that works for me is Benadryl but due to dementia/Alzheimer’s on both sides of my family, it is best to try something else."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I have been taking Ambien for over 10 years after trying Restoril and Lunesta without success. I felt like I had reached a plateau with it and could no longer stay asleep, so I asked to switch to a new medication. I started taking Quviviq and tried it for three months. In those three months, I found it hard to fall asleep and when I did fall asleep I had vivid dreams and out-of-body experiences. I switched back to Ambien after three months and taken with 25mg of Hydroxyzine I can sleep again. I do feel a bit sluggish in the morning, but that feeling goes away once I'm up and does not last all day. I will not complain about Ambien again."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "Helps me fall asleep, but I don't stay asleep. 50 mg. I would stay up for days if I didn't drug myself to sleep. I have been afraid to try Ambien or Lunesta, but I did try Belsomra, which didn't seem to work. What does work is Xanax, but I have been taking it for sleep for years and am afraid of the neurological issues. My neurologist suggested Quviviq - my insurance does not cover it, but I found a coupon and got my first month free, which was great. Depending on whether I take it with food, it can take 30-90 minutes to work, but I love the way I drift off to sleep; it feels great, really zen-like. Unfortunately, it only lasts about 2-3 hours, and although I am not fully alert, I cannot fall back to sleep without taking something else. Taking additional meds at 2 or 3 AM means a horrible groggy hangover or inability to function the next day and defeats the purpose. I don't have any worse nightmares than I do on Xanax."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I've been experiencing insomnia for a few months, and it seems likely that it's a new manifestation of the multiple sclerosis I was diagnosed with a few years ago. After a couple of weeks on Ambien was unsuccessful, it was decided that I should try Quviviq. This stuff affected me so oddly. A couple nights that I took it I was falling asleep all over myself within 15 minutes, feeling almost narcoleptic like I was going to pass out before I made it to the bed. On other nights, I might as well have swallowed a sugar pill; I literally felt like I'd taken nothing. Genuinely, this medication was so wildly inconsistent, I wondered if the pharma-manufacturer had quality control issues with a few lots. Toss in a weird "inverse" sleep paralysis a couple of times (I lost the ability to move before I fell asleep, instead of waking up and being unable to move) and it was an unexpectedly bizarre and frustrating experience with a medication. It was discontinued for the stated reasons."

Quviviq (daridorexant) for Insomnia "I’m wary of the glowing reviews and 10/10 ratings. Let’s just say this, the product does not work well for many and no one I know who has tried it is continuing to refill. You are better off identifying and addressing the root cause of your insomnia."
