Dapagliflozin for Heart Failure "I have been taking Farxiga for a little over a year. From day one, I was having severe breathing issues and shortness of breath, severe back and muscle pain, and cramps, and also felt like my kidney area and low middle back are on fire. I talked to my heart doctor, and we are reviewing alternative medications."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Farxiga for 4 days. My lower back was hurting and pelvic area. I went to move, and in my left flank, I had severe pain. It felt like someone smushed my kidney. Everything tastes bad, flu-like symptoms, joints hurt. Not going to take it anymore. I feel bad. The price is high."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "After 1 1/2 weeks of taking Farxiga, I went into severe dehydration that included dizziness, being lightheaded, not being able to stand for more than a minute without feeling like I was going to faint, extreme shortness of breath, chest pain, pain in my lower back and sides, excessive thirst, and dry mouth. Luckily, my daughter has had medical training and recognized that I had severe dehydration. I had to begin immediate fluid replenishing as well as salt replacement. Farxiga is the only thing that had been changed about my regular schedule, and upon looking at the maker's website, we found that dehydration, kidney problems, increased bad cholesterol levels, and UTIs are just some of the regular side effects that go along with taking this."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Farxiga for a little less than a month and am experiencing headaches, extreme scalp itching, shortness of breath, back pain, and dehydration. I generally drink tons of water, and prior to Farxiga, did not have to urinate as much as I do. I also think that I am getting a yeast infection. I was on Janumet and Jardiance prior to this, but my insurance company stopped covering both, so now I am forced to take this or Invokana... I don't like this medication and would prefer to be on what I was taking before. If you have any say-so in the matter, DO NOT TAKE FARXIGA!!"

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Farxiga has wrecked havoc on me. I am a 52-year-old female. I took just 1 pill and immediately had issues with yeast, itching so bad to the point I was red and raw. Then, I stopped taking it to test if Farxiga was the cause. I started to take it again and immediately had the same symptoms. I started to show signs of vaginal bleeding and then dark urine and blood in urine. Now, a UTI from prolonged yeast infections and back pain, cramping. Had urgency to urinate and seemed like every 20 minutes running to urinate, sometimes not being able to make it. I have not had a period in a year and 5 months, and to see blood scared me to death. I was told that yeast and UTI can make you bleed vaginally. I stopped taking this drug again and am changing meds."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Before I used Farxiga, my A1C was almost 14, and I was on 2 different insulins and 5 other pills. But with a strict diet, exercise, and drinking 6 bottles of water per day and seeing my diabetic nutritionist, in 3 months my A1C has come down to 9. That's amazing. I do urinate a lot, have had a few yeast infections, and experience frequent back pain, my urine has a fruity smell, but the dropping of my A1C outweighs my side effects. I will continue taking Farxiga, and my goal for my A1C is 6. I am insulin-free and only on Farxiga, metformin, and Januvia."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have been taking 10 mg of dapagliflozin every day for 2 years now. It changed my life for the better. Just found out the side effect today. Did not bother me one bit. Back pain. More like back muscle soreness when I walk too much. Like a mile/few km. Comes once every half year. Pee too much. Comes from me drinking too much water due to being diabetic. Skin rash, yeast infection. Had those since childhood. Controllable. Dizziness. Never felt it once. Weight loss. Not drastically. More like goes up and down more easily. But the benefits outweigh the negatives 10 to 1 as I can live a normal lifestyle like a normal person."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This drug dapagliflozin caused me many problems: pain in back, muscle pain in arms, some memory loss. I have only just stopped taking this drug after 12 months, and my problems are going away."
