For Panic Disorder "I began taking Klonopin when it first came on the market in the 80s. When nothing else would even touch it, Klonopin stopped my severe anxiety and panic attacks completely within the first week. Klonopin gave me my life back. I never thought I would be anxiety and panic free but I was and still am. This drug continues to be a miracle for me. I was on 4 mg a day when my panic/anxiety was at its worst, but I am now on a low maintenance dose of 0.5 mg 2x a day. It's not for everyone, but for those who benefit from it, it's a godsend. Don't be afraid to try it. It changed my life for the better. Hands down, a miracle drug for me."

For Panic Disorder "I started on Klonopin 5 years ago when I was experiencing uncontrollable panic attacks that nearly cost me my job. Prior to that, I was taking Xanax. Xanax works great short term (but is clearly addictive and many people are prone to abuse it). I explained my concerns to my doctor and was prescribed 1 mg of Klonopin three times a day, which worked wonders but decided to taper down over the past six months. I was able to get down to 1 mg once a day without any problems but it's really tough to get lower than that without experiencing significant withdrawal. People are correct in stating that it is very difficult to get off of completely, but like all meds, you have to weigh the pros and cons. I haven't noticed any side effects thus far, nor have I felt the need to increase my initial prescribed dose (actually decreased). If panic and anxiety are ruining your life, the downsides of Klonopin are vastly outweighed by the benefits it provides. Life is too short to live with unnecessary anxiety."

For Anxiety "I had a health issue that presented severe anxiety 2 plus years ago. I tried a couple of SSRI's. They made me feel worse. This is the ONLY medication that helps me to feel normal. Also, battled insomnia for 15 years and took nothing for it. Now with Klonopin, I sleep. I also have a fear of medication / building up tolerance but the physical impact of stress I have been told is worse for my mind and body. The life-saving plus no side effect profile of this medicine is amazing. I just hope I can continue to take it long-term because without it, I would be in far worse shape. Thank you for all the rave reviews, nice to know I am not alone in my love for this medicine. And this is from a medication-averse, workout every day, eat right person."

For Panic Disorder "I would not be alive now if not for Klonopin, nor would I have been able to complete Graduate school. Anyone who has had panic disorder that literally freezes your mind and body into a state of never-ending terror knows. You are sure you will die. Mine started at age 28. I have been taking a low dose; 1 mg per day - 0.5 in the morning and before bed. If I feel one coming on, I take 1 mg of Ativan - happens a few times a month. Those who say it's as horrible and addictive as Heroin? Likely using it for generalized anxiety disorder and increasing irresponsibly. Those of us who suffer from the physical and mental terror of panic disorder and take the medication carefully - it's hard to hear others saying how dangerous it is. Anything misused is dangerous."

For Panic Disorder "This drug, even at a medium to low dose, once given - is nearly impossible to stop taking. I for one have no desire to ever stop taking it. It gave me relief at 33 years old from a life of nonstop anxiety. It was godsend. However, the issue lies within the medical profession in different regions of the country. I have relocated 9 times in 15 years for work. 9 times, I was told no, we cannot prescribe a controlled substance to a new patient regardless of Dr. records showing I’d been taking Klonopin for years. I literally have been shut down at the window at a new Dr. office, ERs have made me feel humiliated, previous Drs. can’t call in controlled substances across state lines - NINE TIMES I have had to go through the absolute worst nightmare of withdrawals I have ever experienced. Because the medical profession turned their back on me. And continues. I am terrified to move because this will happen again."

For Anxiety "I have been taking Klonopin for 5-6 years now. I think it is a wonder drug and I couldn't function without it. I have (social) anxiety disorder with a history of panic attacks many years ago. I generally take 0.25mg one to four times a day (as needed) and 0.5mg before bed as it helps me sleep. I cut my scored 0.5mg pills in half. My doctor has prescribed 2mg/day but I rarely exceed 1.5mg total and probably only average 1-1.25mg. In all the time I've taken it, I've never had a desire to increase it because it simply 'works' and makes me feel 100% normal with no side effects. I took Valium (diazepam) for many years but I always felt anxious as it was wearing off and before taking more. Klonopin doesn't have that effect on me probably because of the long half-life and the way I space it out. I fully expect to take it for the rest of my life."

For Panic Disorder "I suffer from Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia and Generalized Anxiety Disorder and some Social Anxiety. I have severe panic attacks, and they come on out of nowhere with no warning. I'll get the derealization in my head and won't know what's going on or feel out of body, dizzy, heart will race, extreme feeling of dying. It will actually physically make me sick. My doctor put me on Klonopin 2mg, 1 tablet 5 times daily when I was 19, and it's a wonder drug. I'm 23 now, and I'm not panic-free completely, but when I feel it coming, I take a tablet, and the fear is all gone in 20 minutes. I'm 23 now, and if you take it properly, it will help you greatly. Anxiety runs in my family, and it's a terrible thing. My life is normal thanks to Klonopin."

For Anxiety "I have been on Klonopin for 20 years. I've only had to up the dosage once, from 0.5mg to 1mg per day. Before I took it, I started having uncontrollable panic attacks, loss of appetite, lack of concentration. Klonopin worked instantly. I went from no appetite to being able to eat normally again. There has only been one short period in my life during those 20 years when my circumstances were so overwhelming that the panic attacks reoccurred, and I would sometimes take an extra dose. This medicine has been a lifesaver for me. In all those years, I have only lost 2 days of work because of anxiety-related illness. I thank the doctor who put me on this and who keeps monitoring me to see that I am OK."

For Panic Disorder "I have been suffering from intrusive and ruminating thoughts that I could not control. I could eat, sleep, and even get my work done. I am also having chronic health issues at 32, otherwise fit and healthy. I was on Prozac, Trintellix, Lexapro, Viibryd, and a few more. Nothing helped. I told my doctor my anxiety was causing suicidal thoughts as it worsened my depression immensely. She prescribed 0.5 mg 2x daily (1 mg per day), and oh my goodness, I actually feel sane! I'm able to drive without any anxiety, hang out with family and friends, and stop worrying about literally everything. Amazing medication."

For Anxiety "I have used Klonopin over the years for anxiety. I've been looking on the internet saying it's so hard to get off of. But I've never had a problem. I used to take 3 milligrams a day on and off for years, and then when I quit, I just quit. I don't understand where the problem lies with this drug because I've never had a problem coming off. Has anybody else had problems?"

For Panic Disorder "After trying gobs of antidepressants, Xanax, and the like, Klonopin, along with both Effexor and Inderal, has obliterated ANY and ALL anxiety and disabling symptoms plaguing my life for YEARS. I am so happy to have found a sympathetic physician who listens to my strife and actually cares about my welfare as a patient. This combination has made me a NEW person with SO MANY opportunities in life. This medicine has been a lifesaver, and I am very happy I'm finally squared with my emotional and anxiety-ridden baggage. Not a SINGLE panic attack or anxiety attack since starting Klonopin. It's really a Godsend after so many years of struggling and would recommend it to anyone for a frank discussion with his/her physician for at least a trial."

For Anxiety "I started getting anxiety about a year ago out of the blue. I had to go to the ER because I thought I was dying or something. All my tests came back negative. The doctor told me it was an anxiety attack. I got sent home with nothing. A few days later I had another one. I went to my PCP and they put me on clonazepam. I try not to take them if I don't need it, but you never know when it may manifest. So I try to take half doses to make my script stretch and to also not be as dependent. I noticed that it works but to a lesser degree. I commute to school and work a full-time job so my mind is always running. In a nutshell, this medication works."

For Burning Mouth Syndrome "I suffered from burning mouth syndrome (BMS). I was given prescription mouthwash. When that didn't work, the physician treated me for thrush. Nothing worked, and I was miserable. At the time, the trials for Clonazepam (Klonopin) were underway, but the results had not been published. I wrote to one of the people involved in the trial. They wrote me back, and I gave the letter to my physician. He prescribed 1 mg of Clonazepam daily. I have taken this for many years now and have had no further bouts with BMS."

For Panic Disorder "This is the best medicine for anxiety by far. My psychiatrist put me on this drug yesterday, and thirty minutes after taking it, I was so calm, I was shocked. I have tried everything that was not in the benzodiazepine family, and nothing worked. My doctor suggested I go on, and I am thrilled. I haven't felt this good in a long time (calm). I am on 0.5 x 2 a day. I am happy, and it feels so good. I suffer from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I also take Latuda 40 mg for now. I will let you know if anything changes."

For Panic Disorder "Very very effective drug. Better than diazepam, better than lorazepam. Long half-life. This medication helped me stop drinking completely to mask my anxiety. I have chronic anxiety and sometimes can't go in stores. With clonazepam, when used responsibly, is my wonder drug. Been on 3 mg a day for 25 years. My doctor shuns on weaning me off, as this drug gave me my life back. It has helped me mend my relationships, I can go outside, and I don't feel like anyone's judging me. I take clonazepam with 40 mg propranolol a day and Seroquel at night. Whoever made this benzo needs an award. Stay sober, don't do illicit drugs, take meds as instructed and again, don't drink! Thanks!"

For Anxiety "My anxiety came out of the blue. I had been suffering from depression and waited until I was close to rock bottom before seeing a psychiatrist. He put me on Zoloft, and for about 10 days, I convinced myself it was all getting better... then WHAM! I started waking up with panic that was overtaking my entire body! I took Xanax just to go to sleep for an hour. A counselor tried to get me to do breathing and muscle relaxation exercises, but I was too anxious to concentrate. I had to take off work because I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT FUNCTION! My psychiatrist just put me on Klonopin 1mg 3x a day. That's a lot, but hopefully I can taper off soon, and the Zoloft can do its job. I can now think clearly and not panic at the simple thought of bathing!"

For Anxiety "The last 15 years of taking Klonopin have been a total improvement of my quality of life, and an improvement in anxiety to the point where I am like the friendliest guy in town, so to speak. Whereas before taking Klonopin, I had severe social phobia. As a result, the stress was definitely related to making me get cancer at 40 years of age. It works. Buspar and all the other more popular anti-anxiety meds did not work, and I don't want to stop taking Klonopin. William P."

For Anxiety "Have been prescribed a plethora of antidepressants and non-benzodiazepine anti-anxiety meds; all accompanied by horrendous, long-lasting side effects. Had a bad experience with a psychiatrist and also held a negative attitude toward being dependent on medication, therefore decided to be unmedicated for several (miserable) years. Eventually came to terms with the fact that I cannot properly function in society without medication. It took a while, but I have finally found a great combination of meds, including 0.5 mg of Clonazepam. Anxiety is better managed. Happy to no longer be missing out because of anxiety. Would recommend a low dose (prescribed by a doctor, of course) to someone that has tried multiple anxiety medications with no avail."

For Panic Disorder "I'm a 20-year-old female who has randomly developed extreme anxiety. So bad to the point I wanted to take my own life. Nothing triggers me, it just happens out of nowhere. I went to the doctor and he prescribed 50mg Zoloft and 0.5mg of Klonopin. Zoloft has not helped me at all and my heart rate at rest is now usually 130. Horrible medicine and am looking to get it switched. However, I finally got the courage to take Klonopin because I was terrified of how it would make me feel. After suffering for 3 months, I took one. For the first time, I feel like I can breathe, my mind isn't racing, and I can focus. It did not make me feel high at all, just made me feel normal again. I'm mad at myself that I didn't try it sooner out of fear. Finally finding relief brings me to tears, happy tears. Will be going to the doctor this week and requesting to get switched from Zoloft. In the meantime, I am thankful for Klonopin giving me peace."

For Anxiety "I first tried Buspar for my generalized anxiety disorder, and after several weeks, gave up on it. I decided to work with my psychiatrist instead of my GP. He agreed to let me try Klonopin. Wow. I only take 1 mg a day but I feel 90% recovered to my old self. I am more social again, working on my novel, doing well at work, handling stress well, having a lot more fun and joy. I've been on it for 3.5 weeks and hopefully can stay on it permanently. I know one needs to be cautious with it."

For Insomnia "I have severe and chronic insomnia that has caused me little (if any) sleep per night, leading to confusion and irritability in the morning, leading to delirium, if prolonged exposure to sleep deprivation was to happen to me. My doctor first prescribed me Seroquel (quetiapine) for my insomnia, which worked a little bit TOO well, as it was too heavily sedating, and left me with too many 'morning-after' effects. At my doctor's reluctance (due to substance abuse history in not me, but my family) I was given a prescription to a starting dose of 1 mg a night of Klonopin. This was amazing. As opposed to being forced to sleep by Seroquel, Klonopin lulled me to sleep. It's a wonderful medicine."

For Panic Disorder "Klonopin was a great medication. I was crazy anxious and couldn't sleep at night at all. I would stay up and just read or cry with my dogs. I was also terribly anxious and depressed. Whenever my doc recommended Klonopin, I was eager to try it. I was on it only for a month though, just so I could get back on my sleeping patterns. It helped my sleep and anxiety so much! I was so thankful for Klonopin. The only reason I stopped taking it was because my sleep was once again regulated and the med caused severe drowsiness. But other than the drowsiness, it worked just fine!"
