For Prostatitis "This is one of those drugs where the cure is almost as bad as the disease in my case, but it does work. I was prescribed a two-week course of Cipro (500 mg twice daily). Four days into treatment for prostatitis, I'm finally able to urinate again without standing around for what feels like forever, and most of the major symptoms are fading. However, the side effects of Cipro are a little ugly. Brain fog, dizziness, fatigue, increased heart rate, and insomnia are the ones I've been going through. I'm rating Cipro fairly high because it is working for me, I'm just going to have to slog through the side effects for another 10 days."

For Sinusitis "Where do I begin? I took it for a sinus infection and not the recommended twice daily, but only once per day because I couldn't tolerate it more than that. My face and body felt like it was on fire, and my skin coloring was red like I was burning up on the outside and inside. I had nausea, diarrhea, ear and throat itching, mind alteration (couldn't comprehend things like normal), skin puffiness/swelling, stomach pain, taste distortion, high pulse rate, dizziness, fatigue, weight gain, decrease in appetite, frequent burning urination, and even a stuffier nose than when I started it. Now it is in my chest and in my nasal cavities. I just want to feel better. This is awful!!!!"

Ciprofloxacin for Prostatitis "30-day prescription up to 60. After the first week of mild nausea and mild diarrhea, I developed a weird tightness in my right hip, severe tennis elbow, and weird pain/headache behind my left eye for 2-3 days, bloating, some nights unable to sleep due to insomnia and tremors/weird body vibrations. Mornings were hell due to my coffee drinking and the foggy brain. Do not drink coffee while taking this! 3 weeks after stopping, I still have some prostatitis symptoms but have greatly improved. However, the side effects from the med of muscle tightness, brain fog, foot pain, hip pain, back tightness, lack of appetite, and fatigue still remain but seem to be subsiding a bit. I wish the docs would explain the meds they prescribe, but I don't think they really know!"

For Sinusitis "Pros. I found that it worked quickly, and with one day of taking it, I felt so much better. One of the fastest-working antibiotics I've had because amoxicillin and co-amoxiclav stopped working for me. Cons. Makes you feel like rubbish, bad stomach, the runs, and low energy. If you get a lower-graded antibiotic and it works for you, stick to that as long as you can. Unfortunately, I have immunity to most antibiotics, so it's the only one I can have."

For Kidney Infections "I was given these from the hospital for a severe kidney infection. The dosage was two 500 mg for 5 days. Worst tablets I've ever been on, they made me want to self-detonate. They have even given me jaundice, which is a 1 in 1,000 chance. They were very fast-acting towards the kidney and kidney pain, which is good, but side effects were very, very nasty. Side effects I experienced: - severe nausea - dry mouth - vomiting - dizziness - abdominal pain - headache - muscle aches - confusion - extreme fatigue - fever and cold sweats - jaundice (yellowing of skin, eyes, and urine). I've been off the tablets for about 48 hours now (thank God), but now need time to be treated for jaundice. The only good thing I can say about these is that they are very fast-acting. I wouldn't recommend these at all, even if you are desperate, please ask for something else."

For Diverticulitis "I was on Cipro for my first diverticulitis episode and had no clue why I felt so poorly. I am now on my second flare-up and again on Cipro 2x a day, and after five days, I finally decided I had had enough. My skin feels like it is on fire, I cannot sleep at all, I am nauseated, and my muscles hurt in my arms, legs, and neck. I am also experiencing confusion and fatigue. If I had paid more attention to the drug information, I would never have taken this again. My diverticulitis pain is better, but this is not worth it!"

For Kidney Infections "Using ciprofloxacin now for 6 days. Previous antibiotics didn't clear UTI, which is now a kidney infection. Only side effects are extreme lethargy and a touch of constipation. Infection seems to be cleared, but will take my day 7 meds as advised."

For Sinusitis "I’m allergic to most antibiotics. Cipro is the only one I can take without severe side effects off and on for 20 years. The only side effect for me over the years - with never more than 10 days at a time prescription - is a very mild stomach ache. Almost all other antibiotics make me feverish, very dizzy and lightheaded, give me hives, cause facial swelling, make me feel hot then get chills, cause diarrhea, nausea, sometimes debilitating fatigue. … I have used Cipro for UTIs and currently sinusitis. It’s a lifesaver with hardly noticeable side effects for me, who had a very sensitive system and rarely takes medication."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I’m a 54-year-old female taking Cipro for a UTI. The first dose made me feel better within hours, but now that I’m on my fourth dose, I’m feeling bad, have low energy and reduced appetite, as well as returning bladder pain. I am praying for relief soon."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had this for pelvic inflammatory disease. I immediately experienced fatigue and was extremely sick to my stomach for weeks afterward. Soon after that, I got crippling leg pain and migraine headaches on a regular basis. The headaches continued to get worse till they were every day. I also have pain in the tendons around my eyes and pretty bad stomach issues from this medication. I've been on a downward spiral that keeps getting worse because of the mitochondrial damage I've endured. I hope to recover, but it's been 7 years since taking it and haven't been the same since, just keeps getting worse!!!"

"Went to the dermatologist after a nasty-looking rash popped up. Turns out I had hot tub folliculitis. Taking the ciprofloxacin to get rid of it. Seen a massive improvement in just two days, but I'm not fond of the side effects. My sinuses drain, so I get nauseous. I sneeze more than normal. Nausea if taken on an empty stomach, and just overall malaise. Hopefully, I won't be on it too much longer, but I have to say, it works really well."

For Bacterial Infection "I got a hernia from lifting a suitcase, we suspect. The hernia was inguinal. At the same time, I had a smaller one in the abdominal wall. It was untreated for some time (over a month) as I didn't notice it. I'm not sexual. The doctor said this is not uncommon in males over 40. Discovered all this after an ultrasound. Non-sexual epididymitis from urinary infection. Rx Cipro, immediate abdominal bloat, sluggish and exhausted feeling, and nausea. 2 times/po/daily... Ugh... research into WHY is needed."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was skeptical to take this medication. I had an adverse reaction to 'Flagyl' for a UTI before, so I read side effects for antibiotics now. I let my doctor know how I was feeling about taking it, so he prescribed me Cipro for 5 days, 2X a day at 250 mg. I had side effects such as fatigue, tingling, and muscle aches. I just took my last dose, and I'm not sure if it fixed it. I'm 30 years old and active, so I'm glad to be going back to normal life again after thinking this drug was going to ruin my life like I read on here."
