"I experienced muscle pain in my arm; they felt very tired and sore. I stopped taking the cephalexin after 4 days, and my skin infection came back. I started taking it again after missing one day, and the infection went away again, but the next morning my neck and shoulders were very sore, and it hurt to move."

"Was prescribed this for blistering and weeping legs that were swollen and that had a skin tear where blisters were previously. I was on this for preventive measures, no infection at the time, also had this medication a year or so before after having a cyst on my back and again after surgery, no problems with the medication. Although this drug smells like sulfa and the taste is horrible, as with a lot of drugs, even though these are capsules, these were combined with Bactrim antibiotic."

Cephalexin "I was taking Bactrim for 2 days with no improvement before being prescribed Keflex QID for 7 days to take with Bactrim for an infected cut on my wrist from punching glass. As soon as I began Keflex, I started noticing improvement. It's hard to say whether the improvement or my side effects were from Keflex or Bactrim, so take this with a grain of salt. I had tachycardia, chills, nausea, indigestion, gas pain that felt like chest pain, itching on arms/legs, petechiae on my upper arms, frequent urination, and eventual yeast infection for which I had to take Diflucan. I had some symptoms together, and some separate. Most of my side effects came at night, though, so it could've been some kind of reaction between the two? The side effects definitely hit me harder in the beginning, but by my 5th day of Keflex, almost all side effects had subsided. I suggest taking with probiotics that can survive stomach acid and easily digestible food and drinking a lot of water."

"I take this at a dose of 500 mg every 6 hours for 7 days for an abscess on my scalp, which had been very painful. I noticed it start working within 12 hours of the first dose because the pain began subsiding. I seem to handle this antibiotic very well. I’m so thankful for it. The abscess was so painful it was making it even hard to sleep."

"I'm not sure if it's working. Was prescribed 2 a day for 10 days. I get cystic acne, and I have broken out worse since taking it. Makes me bloated and tired, but can't sleep. Also makes my skin super dry. I just finished my last dose. I hope it's one of those that gets worse before it gets better. Just try to get Accutane."

"Look, as far as my skin goes, the Keflex is great-no new rashes or lumps, healed swiftly, I feel human again. But three days in, I start having the worst, most dark dreams! And these dreams don't stop! So 10/10 if you want vivid dreams, just make sure you can handle yourself because they are not good dreams, okay?"

"I've been taking cephalexin for a few days now and while my boil has reduced and no longer hurts, the side effects I'm experiencing are not worth it. If I had been informed of the side effects before it was prescribed, I would have refused it and asked for something different."

"I was prescribed this for an ingrown toenail that became infected. Gave so many stars because it is definitely working. Never did I think something so tiny could hurt so bad! After 2 days, the infection looked and felt much better. But, I’m going to ask for something else. I’m on day 4 of these now, and 3 of those days I’ve been getting a crazy headache. I’m predisposed to migraines, but I don’t get them every day back to back, so it definitely is from the medication. I’m also not sure if it’s another side effect, but I woke up around 5 a.m. because of horrible jaw pain. I do have TMD for the last 9 years of my life, but I never had this happen. I took some ibuprofen, but wish I had taken a Vicodin I had leftover from a recent surgery instead because of how bad it was. Icing for a good while took the edge off enough for me to go back to sleep, but it was rough. Still pretty sore when I woke up, but not as bad as before."

"I try not to take medicine unless I am really sick, but my doctor recommended I take cephalexin for a small cyst on my eyelid. I decided to try it because antibiotics are one of the medicines I believe are very good when you are sick and your body needs a little help to heal. My dosage was three 500 mg per day for 10 days. After the first day, I developed stomach cramps and diarrhea. I was not sure if it was due to the medicine, so I continued to take the cephalexin for two more days. When the condition did not get any better, I stopped taking the cephalexin. It has now been a week since I first took the cephalexin, and I still have stomach cramps and diarrhea. I advised my doctor's office of my problem, but they have not called me yet."

"I read these reviews before I started taking cephalexin and was scared of all the side effects. After 7 days of taking it, I have experienced no side effects, but I have made an effort to take the pills with food. On the downside, the antibiotic has had no effect on my folliculitis so far."

"Little basal cell cancer removed. I always have some back, foot, hip pain, but now everything is so painful at the same time, horrible diarrhea, feel fatigued, almost like flu. I'm 68 with joint issues. It's bad to stop, but I can't do it. Worried about C.Diff. I took it before, no problem, but I can't function this time. Probably age and other conditions."

"The vet gave this antibiotic to my mastiff when she suddenly had welts raised up all over. He thought she had been stung or had some other type of introduced infection. So far, so good, but it seems to give her a bit of urinary incontinence. She has had that before whenever she takes any antibiotic. She is taking other medicine too, so it is hard to say which one is helping or causing the side effect."

"No side effects except a little sleepiness and a yeast infection a week after (this can be helped if you take acidophilus during treatment, but I forgot). Cephalexin cured my infection. God bless antibiotics!"

"My husband developed an infection at the surgical incision site following radical nephrectomy after diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma. Everything seemed fine till post-op 11 days when staples were removed, and the nurse commented the wound was still draining and put a bandage on, which is unusual. Two days later, started having more pain, felt worse, less energy. Four days after staples were removed, said incision felt hot. Was red where it had been draining and hot to touch. Entire incision line hard and rigid, which the doctor shrugged off as a hematoma, we spent four hours in the ER. No blood work. Given Keflex four times a day for seven days. Had been taking it now for three and a half days. Redness and hot area has spread, still no energy, no appetite, and does not feel well. Going back to the ER because should have been given a stronger antibiotic, especially after having surgery with a chance of MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus), which can’t be treated with first-line antibiotics. Would not recommend this to anyone!!!"

"So I took Cephalexin to get rid of an infected cyst. It did the job for the most part, but it may have been less effective since I had already taken it before. I didn’t have the side effects other people had: I didn’t have ANY nausea, stomach pain, drowsiness, or anything with this medicine, and I usually took it without food too. It didn’t really help the second time (after I got my cyst removed and stitches in), but that’s my fault, I was prescribed doxycycline, and I took cephalexin AGAIN instead. Overall, a good experience!"

"I had a cosmetic procedure - fat removal, which caused an infection, so I was prescribed this. Had to stop this antibiotic in the middle of the week because it wasn’t tolerable. ***days later developed floaters in eye that are not going away*** after an emergency eye doctor appointment, he has referred me to a retinal specialist."

"The doctor prescribed Keflex for me, 500 mg, four times a day for ten days. It seriously worked wonders. Now I am back on this medication again for the same thing 8 months later, my doctor has no idea what causes it and apparently neither does Google. Anyway, I feel I can rest easy knowing I am on this product again and that it will be cleared up within the 10 days."

Cephalexin "20 yo son took Keflex generic at 7 am Friday for a gross shin wound. After 3 doses, by Saturday afternoon, he had a fever of 102.6. The hospital deemed him COVID positive via a rapid test, though son only had a fever as symptoms of anything. The staff seemed excited to tell each of me, hubby, and my parents without son’s permission. Hubby and I each tested negative on non-rapid tests this morning. We will continue Keflex until the dosage is complete, but I would not take this med or allow my son to take it again. My mother is allergic to Keflex. It makes her itch and choke. I’m very certain the Keflex is causing my son’s fever, but COVID is a payday, so we just have to deal with it. He is allergic to amoxicillin."
