For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been on Sublocade for a little over 1 year, and it is way better than the strips I had been using. I was taking 500-600 mg of opiates a day, and now I have been clean for 5 years. Time to kick the Sublocade."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "The shot is painful, but only takes 30 seconds. 30 seconds for 30 days is a trade-off I'm good with. It works. Does everything it claims. Couldn't be happier or agree more with the below positive reviews. I will say, though, if you aren't taking 12 mgs+ a day, that 300 mg shot is going to be very strong, you will sleep hard. Highly recommend! I have great insurance, and I'm willing to pay out-of-network costs just for this."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was extremely excited to try the Sublocade shot for several reasons. For one, I had heard a lot of really good reviews on TikTok from creators who had tried it and were or seemed to be very successful and happy with it. And for two, I have been on Suboxone strips for at least 15 years or more for pain pill addiction, and I had heard that if you wanted to get off Suboxone, that this was the best and easiest way to do it without so much sickness. So I finally talked to my doctor about it and finally got my insurance to approve it, and I was so excited to get my first injection. I did really well the first 5-7 days. I felt great, with no withdrawals. I was excited that I had made the decision to get the injection, but that quickly changed for me after week 1! After week 1, I began to fall into a deep dark depression as well as anxiety and crying spells and no motivation! I would be okay one hour and literally not okay the next hour like I was on a roller coaster! Long story short, for me, I wish I had never gotten it!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I just got the Sublocade shot 3 hours ago and while I feel a little loopy. I just wanted to get some support as I am freaking out knowing that I can never use again. Being an addict for over thirty years and getting the shot at 5 months sober, I am just wondering what the Sublocade community is like as I have read all the reviews before I went in. I guess I will have more to say about it when I have more than three hours of it in my system."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "So, I have been on Suboxone for 4 years now in maintenance. I take two 8 mg strips a day and heard about this Suboxone shot because taking strips twice a day becomes an inconvenience. I took the shot Friday at 1:30 pm. It didn’t burn as bad as some people say. I started to feel the injection within a couple of hours. That night, I felt I had a pretty high dose of it in my body. The next day, Saturday, I felt great, plenty of energy, and no negative symptoms at all. I felt amazing. Sunday night, I started to slightly get tired and out of it. It’s now Monday night, and I feel horrible, like I’m withdrawing, like a really bad flu. So now I have to make a decision on what to do. If anyone on here has advice on what I should do, please answer my message. I would greatly appreciate it. I’m not sure if I should wait it out and see what happens. Will it get better or worse? I’m crossing my fingers, and I hope this advice helps someone out there."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I usually take 2.5 8 mg strips a day. I have been on Suboxone since 2004 through multiple doctors (some great and some really bad). I received my first Sublocade shot almost 3 weeks ago. The first 2 days were fine. I did not take any strips on those days. Halfway through the 3rd day, I started to feel withdrawals (WDs), and I took one of my remaining strips to ease those feelings. After running out of the strips and depending only on this “depot,” I am experiencing WDs. As far as I can tell, having 15 years of experience with Bupe, (1) 300 mg shot delivers about 2 mg daily in my system. This could work great for those who are on a low dose of sub (2-4 mg daily), but for those who are on 16 or higher... beware! I don't know if I will continue this route of administration. There just isn’t enough information on this medicine to make a clear judgment on its potential. I pray it works for you."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "Ok, so first of all, I give them a 10 because I'm definitely grateful for getting it. It has curbed my cravings, and I feel like myself for the first time in a few years as a heroin addict. The only thing is I didn't take Suboxone for days before. My husband and I went from 3 grams a day to the shot just hours after using last. Misinformed that it wouldn't throw us into precipitated withdrawals. Unbeknownst to us, we got the shot feeling fine for the first 2 hours. We spent the next 6 days sicker than ever before. And insomnia was a nice word for what we had. We just had our second shot yesterday and feel much better. Other than being in actual withdrawal to begin with or on sub strips first, I definitely recommend you get it. Just make sure you get all the facts from your provider."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "Been on 16 mg of Suboxone for 6 months. Got sick of running out too quickly. Loved Suboxone too much. A few times I let myself go into withdrawals by skipping my dose for a few days just so I would feel high when I took it again. Way too much of an addict to take Suboxone. Just got my first Sublocade injection. Might be placebo because it’s only been an hour, and I already have that sunny day warm brain feeling, lol. Ran out of my subs two days ago, so I was craving opiates pretty bad. Really hope this works. Pain wasn’t too bad. Felt like getting a tattoo for 30 seconds."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I went from Suboxone strips to the 300 shot, and it was an adjustment at first, but great after my body adjusted (no need to take strips daily, etc.). However, after getting the 300 shot for 4 months, I switched down to the 100 shot last week. Withdrawals started yesterday, worse today. Anyone know how long until I feel normal on the 100 shot? My experiences have otherwise been exactly the same as everyone else on here, so I’m figuring it’s pretty standard. Any help is appreciated, thank you!"

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I am about 72 hours post-initial 300 mg Sublocade shot. The needle itself is painless, but the medication does hurt going in. As a previous Vivitrol patient, I expected the same results and quickly learned the difference in the two, pain-wise. For me, it definitely gives you an opiate-type high, something I wasn’t expecting, and I was very nauseous, even when previously on (2) 8 mg pills per day. The high lasted a couple of days, but now on my third day, I am starting to feel withdrawal symptoms. I woke up feeling like I am used to feeling this morning. It’s not extreme, just fatigued throughout the day. I may need to supplement a few mg per day. As for the injection, you are left with a big lump. (I am a very thin person, and it’s extremely noticeable.) I was unaware and thought it was abnormal until I read these reviews. It’s very serious, as it affects your life directly. Thanks for the input from everyone else."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I started on Suboxone 2 years ago. It was fine. No side effects, really, except constipation. I didn't like taking it daily, the whole routine of it, and absolutely didn't like the taste. So I switched to Sublocade. I didn't notice the transition, except being really tired for about two months. I have nothing but good things to say about it, and it's kept me opiate/heroin-free for two years. I have absolutely no desire to use, so I've decided to go off Sublocade cold turkey. After reading the reviews, I'm quite confident."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I first gave it 5 stars, but now I have to say worst mistake I ever made! I got on Sublocade to get off of subs, and all it did was prolong the misery I get on subs. No sex drive, no emotions except sadness and anger, and no motivation, and now I have to wait possibly 18 to 24 months for it to be out of my system! Don’t do it if you want to get off, just taper."

For Opioid Use Disorder "If you use an ice pack on your abdomen for 10 minutes prior to the shot, it doesn't hurt. I have been on the Suboxone strips for 8 years, and I have wanted to get off of Suboxone, so I decided to get the shot. So far, I have had no withdrawal symptoms. It is different not taking medication every day. I give this medication a 10."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I am on my 3rd injection. The first really worked. The second one was useless. My 3rd shot and it worked and helped my chronic pain the first 3 days, now in day 5, it feels like it’s stopped working. I’m wondering how well and how truly effective these shots are. It’s so new on the market that I’m leery, especially after my 2nd one feeling completely useless. If it continues like this, I’m going to ask to go back to the pills."

For Opioid Use Disorder "For those interested in the science (the terms/keywords are helpful) Google/Search: - Buprenorphine plasma levels Sublocade - Stabilization dose Sublocade - Go to Sublocade official site FAQ & videos - How is Sublocade released - Daily stabilization levels Subutex vs. Sublocade - Comparison of Suboxone and Sublocade - Long-acting buprenorphine study - I have seen studies comparing Subutex dosage to Sublocade dosage, which seem to suggest that Sublocade is more effective. Also, they are still finding new methods to wean people off if they feel confident they can go without crutches... gradually reducing the amount of the shot/increasing the time between dosing — or — there is still the option of manually dosing with the strips. There are several tools/options, find the right help for your specific situation."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was one of the first to try Sublocade, and it has completely turned my life around. It really makes you feel normal, and you don't experience any change in levels, up or down. I now forget about having my next appointment because you don't even think about it. The shot is painful, but it is over quick. If you have insurance, the co-pay assistance program is excellent, and it only costs me $5 per month out of pocket. I have had almost 24 injections so far and did not have any infections or issues. The reviews where people had necrosis have scared me a little, but I luckily have not had a problem. I did the typical schedule to start with 300 mg and move to 100 mg. For me, it felt like week 4 of the 100 mg shot was underpowered, so I went back up to 300 mg, and that really did the trick. Be careful if you plan on taking Sublocade, as you can get really bad precipitated withdrawals, just like any other buprenorphine medication. I would probably not go from illicit drugs to Sublocade-do films first, then transition."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I tried to ask my doctor the equivalent of Suboxone to Sublocade... I guess there isn’t an answer. After being on Suboxone for the past 2 years, I felt I was suddenly pushed into this by my doctor. They’ve been giving it to all their other clients. I heard, “everyone feels great on it,” and I thought, hey, it’d be nice to not have to take it daily. (2/8 mg films once daily) It left a rock in my stomach from the actual injection (which wasn’t too bad (with the novocaine)). So, fast forward, it’s about my 3rd week on it. I just woke up and have no desire whatsoever to get out of bed. When I do get up, I feel like puking (not in a good way), and the nausea has been every single day along with very annoying headaches. Not sure why it’s so expensive? Likely because it is new."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "Had my very first Sublocade injection today. So far, I’m really good, it seems to work. HOWEVER! The injection hurt so much, I almost passed out. Know, I’m no stranger to pain, having completed seven years in the US Army (honorably), so know when I say that the Sublocade injection was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever had to endure, like fire being poured into my nervous system for a full minute (I had the larger dose), that you will know I am not faint of heart or have a low pain threshold. Seriously, I don’t know if I can do that again... willingly."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I've been battling with this damn pill epidemic forever, it seems... I've been on and off pain meds for about 14 years, with limited success. Found myself back on Suboxone after being 'clean' for 3 years, but was battling serious depression with suicidal ideation. Finally found a suitable AD and was put back on Suboxone again after 2 detoxes. It didn't help me much at all, constantly sweating, up and down every day! A nightmare! Thanks to all the other reviews on this remarkable drug, I decided to take the plunge, and it's only been a short time frame, but I'm immediately feeling so much better and consistent with my moods. My injection site is quite sore though and red, but I don't feel bad. I have no cravings for extra subs, and my doctor even let me keep 8 8 mg strips for the last week if it doesn't hold up. I'm definitely interested in going off the injection and being clean from this in the coming months... Do it!!! Also, in Aus, we're very lucky with the cost of $8 a month. Amazing savings."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I got my 1st Sublocade shot today. I have been on Suboxone for a long time. I started off with 3-8 mg strips a day, down to 1 mg Subutex a day, but it just wasn't enough, so I went to 2 mg and have been on that for about 2 years. Up until 3 weeks ago, I went to 4 when I switched doctors. She mentioned the shot and said she has had a lot of success with it, so I thought, why not try it! I'm not really going through anything, but I do feel like my energy isn't there, but I'm wondering if it's because it's in my mind? I do have a question, though: how often does it release the medicine?"

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "After nearly 17 years on Suboxone, a fellow healthcare worker/addict recommended Sublocade as a means of getting off Suboxone. I've tried to wean myself off of Suboxone, but every time it's been unsuccessful. At the time of switching to Sublocade, I had been taking 2mg/day of Suboxone for approximately 4 years, sometimes dosing back to 4mg/day and being very tired of being dependent on this medication. My addiction doctor told me back in 2006 that I'd have to take it for the rest of my life. I didn't believe him, but after numerous attempts to get off it, I finally gave up until Sublocade became an option. The transition to Sublocade was very rocky, starting off with 100mg Sublocade was a big mistake. I went into major withdrawals within 5 days of the first injection and had to supplement with Suboxone to stabilize. At 300mg for 7 months then 100mg for 2 months then done. No withdrawals until 7 months post-Sublocade, now severe insomnia and RLS, taking Gabapentin to reduce symptoms."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was opioid dependent for 20 years. Detoxed in jail. I made it 11 months in drug court before getting a positive UA. I only used 3 times in 11 months. I got the Sublocade injection just so they wouldn't kick me out of the program. The next 5 months, I received the typical two 300 mg injections, then received three 100 mg injections. I'm graduating from the program in 3 weeks and haven't gotten the injection in 2 months. The studies I viewed found detectable bupe levels for up to 38 months after their last injection. So, after you get a few shots, you're good as far as withdrawals go for a long time, if ever. Idk how long the effectiveness against cravings lasts, but I'd guess it's effective for months after your last one. I'd highly suggest anyone struggling with OUD to give Sublocade a try, it works great, and you can't cheat the system or yourself by skipping doses to get high. You only have to think about it once every 30 days, so you are living a normal life 99.9% of the time. The injection does burn quite a bit, but it's absolutely worth it!"

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "This was a miracle drug for me! I was on heroin for 15 years and I had one shot of Sublocade and haven't had a craving since. I tried the strips for years and would end up selling them to get dope money and they just really didn't work for me. I got that shot in 2017 and got it for 2 months after that just to be safe, and I haven't looked back since! I tell everyone I see struggling about my experience with that shot and pray they will try it too! Recovery is possible with the help of Sublocade!"
