For Opioid Use Disorder "Been a Suboxone patient for 11 years after 5 years of pain pill dependence. It has been a Godsend and gave me my life back. But I’m tired of the strips. Been stable on one 8/2 mg strip per day for the entire 11 years, but some months running out early because for some reason they don’t seem to be effective every day of the month. Tired of suffering when those math occurrences happened, and lately they’ve been occurring more frequently. Changed doctors because mine didn’t dispense Sublocade. Got my first dose yesterday, and it’s now been about 36 hours, and I feel great! Zero withdrawal symptoms. Only side effect is some mild head pressure, wouldn’t call it a headache. The shot itself really burned while being injected. About 30 seconds worth, and I was glad when it ended, but zero complications at the injection site. I will let everyone know after one month, but for now, I’m so glad I gave this a try."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "Update from my review on 2018-12-15. I am on my 3rd shot, which is now lowered to 100 mg. The shot is very, very painful, it burns like none other. I might be acting like a brat, but damn does that burn. I have a good amount of fat on my belly, though, so that may be why. I can still feel the last 2 depots from the 300 mg shot, so know that the medicine is still in me and I have not had a single bad day. I truly believe this is the miracle drug for getting off opioids. Also, the mg of the shot cannot be compared to the strips. 300 mg of Sublocade is much more than 300 mg of Suboxone due to the method of absorption."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I’ve been on Suboxone films for 10 years, and it did save my life. A lot of Drs and people have no clue what they’re talking about because Suboxone doesn’t get you high at all, and you can’t compare it to methadone. But I switched to Sublocade shot, and so far, love it. I don’t have to remember to take it and no ups and downs. A plus for this med."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "Three weeks into the Sublocade shot, and I just had to call in to my sub doctor to get put back on the pills. I thought I could shake the cravings, but then withdrawal came. Watery eyes, runny nose, severe back pain, and absolutely no sleep. I was told that it was PROBABLY because I have a very high metabolism, which is true, I do. I've never weighed over 135 my entire life, and I'm 31 now. But doing some deep research on the shot, and according to the welcome packet I also received, it said the shot isn't intended for anyone who is on a dose higher than 8 mg. And I was on 16 mg a day before three weeks ago. I don't know, maybe I read that wrong, but that's my story. It didn't work well for me, but everyone is different. If it works for you, stick to it. It's a nice idea. Maybe after I've been tapered down some, I'll go back, but it's just too big a jump from 16 mg a day for a year and a half to that shot. Not to mention it's very painful."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I had taken the shot 2 times and decided to stop. I must say that it worked very well, and I have been since December 10th without the shot. Today is September 30th, and still to this day I have not felt any withdrawals. The only bad thing is that it is still showing up in my urine test. I have not taken anything since December 10th, and I'm in a program that does not believe I haven't taken anything, and it is really stressful. I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue or not, but if someone could please help me in this matter, it would be greatly appreciated."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I have been on two 8 mg Suboxone for about 10 years. Weaning off and going through withdrawal has always been my biggest hurdle to quitting. My doctor mentioned this shot to me. Said minimal side effects and coming off the shot is nothing like strips. I had my first shot yesterday and felt fine, but day 2 and I feel awful. The worst stomach pain, nausea, and headache. I sure hope this goes away. The idea of not having to worry about taking meds every day is a Godsend."

For Opioid Use Disorder "So I just got on the shot about three weeks ago after being on two 8 mg Suboxone strips a day. And the first about 4 or 5 days, I just didn't feel right, like almost withdrawals but not as bad, but close. I like the shot that I don't have to worry about taking my subs every day. But it's three weeks later and I still feel kind of off, like I don't feel like I was when I was taking my Suboxone. And I've been experimenting with uppers lately. I don't know. Has anyone else felt this way at all?"

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I wanted to update my review on Sublocade. I decided to fight through those few days of not feeling great, and I am doing a lot better now. If you experience a little withdrawal, you should try to stick with it and see if it goes away. Like I said, the first 4 days were great, and then on the 5th day, I started to feel mild withdrawal. The mild withdrawal only took another 5 days to get over, and now I feel great. Now I am getting my second shot tomorrow. They say that your blood levels go up with each shot that you get. I still have a lump in my stomach, but I can tell half of it dissolved. It looks like you will have 2 to 3 depots supplying medicine at a time during Sublocade treatment. I really enjoy not going to the pharmacy and keeping track of film and pills. This is much better. I am glad I stuck with it. It is much better than the Probuphine implant that I had."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I've been almost 2 years off heroin! So I was getting tired of taking something every day to not be sick. I took 8.2 strips 2x a day, so my doctor offered me the Sublocade because it's a continuous dose and I wouldn't have to worry about taking something every day! She did warn me that a few patients a week before their next dose started to feel withdrawals, so she would order me strips the last week if I felt sick, so I was very nervous to try it! 2 days ago, I got my first Sublocade shot, the 300 mg, which is the loader dose. They give you 2 rounds of the 300 mg doses, then the 3rd month do the maintenance dose, which is 100 mg! So when I got it, she said I'd feel a sting, it does not feel great, but not horrible for 5 seconds, and it wasn't sore until 24 hours later. Day 2, and it is more sore than the 1st day and warm at the spot! I called my doc, and she said it would be sore for a few days, but I feel great, no withdrawal symptoms or cravings, and I feel leveled out."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I first got this shot May 2018. Before the shot, I was taking Suboxone 1x day 8mg. Before Suboxone, I was on 120mg of methadone. I was feeling some withdrawals and discomfort on Suboxone, so my doctor recommended doing this shot instead of the film. It was the best thing I could have done. I have had no withdrawals yet. I started 2 months 300mg, then down to 100mg. I felt some withdrawals when switching the doses. I called my doctor and said I wanted to stay on 300mg longer because of some withdrawals. I have been sober almost 7 years. I also had no side effects. But it hurts and stings going in, but to me, it’s worth it. I live in New York, and I have Medicaid, and they completely cover the cost."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I was skeptical about this route of administration because of how new it was. I’ve been every form of bupe a few several times; on and off of Suboxone since 2005-ish and was able to get myself down to about 4-6 mg. I got the shot and felt okay the first three days. But after that, I began feeling off at night. The restless leg feeling started, but in my whole body—I wasn’t sure if it was withdrawal symptoms or psychosomatic. Then it continued each night. The last few nights have been so awful, I was nearly in tears with aggravation and discomfort. During the day I seem to be fine, but as soon as evening rolls around, it begins. Anyone else have a similar experience? I couldn’t find RLS (more like restless entire body syndrome) as a side effect for Sublocade, and my DR is clear set that it just absolutely CANNOT be withdrawal. Not sure what to think or do at this point."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "To anyone wanting to try Sublocade, do your research and ensure you're a good match before doing so. I left a review previously, I was on Suboxone for 9 years prior to trying the injection. Overall, I had a severe adverse reaction to the injection and 'did' have it surgically removed. Yes, removed! It is possible and very easy. I had immediate relief. Overall, the injection caused necrosis, causing the tissue in my stomach to die and is why I was having serious reactions. I am very happy to be back on the tabs and feeling normal again!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "There is no naloxone in this med for anyone wondering or saying there is. Sublocade has buprenorphine only. I was on strips for 2 years before, technically, being forced to go to the shot due to other people in my area diverting their meds. I have never diverted my medication, but was told if I wanted to do maintenance, I would have to switch, and I was happy to because I don't divert my meds and could care less how it is administered. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Don't have to worry about traveling with it or the box falling apart in your purse or bag, theft, or any other problems that arise if you currently take the pills or strips. I'd recommend this to anyone wanting to do maintenance if your insurance covers it."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I was so scared and so worried about losing the strips when my doctor recommended this shot! He said that this would stop my taking more strips than needed and the ups and downs of them during the day and night. Let me tell you, he was right! This shot is amazing and is doing everything he said it would do for me! And it’s painless! He gives a little shot of lidocaine before he injects the Sublocade, and when the shot of Sublocade is going in, you don’t feel a thing, I’m serious! About an hour later, I could feel the medicine working, it’s that fast. And the bump is not very noticeable, but you can feel it’s there. I highly recommend anyone in the same situation as I was to try this! You got nothing to lose, you can always go back on the strips if you choose to."

For Opioid Use Disorder "This medication is lifesaving. Unfortunately, the process for actually receiving the medication is extremely devastating. Getting this medication, for my husband, required months of spending hours a day on the phone with insurance companies, specialty pharmacies, and various financial aid programs. Each party involved came with their own set of specific guidelines, human error, delays, and issues. This medication could eliminate the opiate epidemic. To receive this lifesaving medication, a person requires an advocate who is able and willing to dedicate months of their life towards getting a medication. Interesting how easily opiates are prescribed, yet treatment for the repercussions is nearly impossible. Lives would be saved if this medication were more accessible."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I was on 16 mg of Suboxone for 3 years. Got my first 300 mg Sublocade shot yesterday. So far, feel good, even a little high. Read all the reviews, so I cut my dose in half 2 weeks prior, then took nothing for 2 days prior. Was entering acute withdrawal prior to the shot. Hoping this will do away with the withdrawal from swapping. Will keep you posted!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on 24 mg Suboxone and was told about Sublocade. It worked so well for a week, and then withdrawals came in. I'm now back on the strips. This didn't work for me, the dose needs to be higher than 300 mg because when you do the math, it's only really releasing 10 mg in a 24-hour period. Be wary of this. If you're on 16 mg or less, then it's a godsend, but unfortunately, anything above will not work."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I am unsure about this shot. I have gotten it twice now and had to fight for the second injection. The first time I got it, I was only two in 5,000 people where the shot didn’t properly dissolve into my body, and I had extreme withdrawals after two days. They even did a urine and blood test, and my bup scores were 500 on the strips and down to 70 by the time they believed I was in withdrawal and put me back on to strips. I just got my second one by a different doctor after the doctors spoke to pharma and any other doctors about their opinions on me getting a second dose because I want off Suboxone. I’ve been stuck on it for 5 years and had two children during this time. I want to be free, and I experience insane withdrawal when I wean off of strips. So it’s day two, and I am getting some hot and cold sweats but feel a little more tired than last time, and I am not feeling as “sick” as last time. I am so hopeful! I will update this in 10 days! :)"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was on Suboxone for 8 years (4-6 mg). I decided to go the Sublocade route. I did have to increase my dosage to 8 mg daily before I got the shot. The shot itself was painless (my doc numbed me up before). At first, I HATED the shot, I was groggy, numb, and withdrawn. However, after two weeks, I started to feel better. I recommend that YOU DO NOT SUPPLEMENT!!! The whole reason to get this shot is to get off daily Suboxone. Yes, there was some discomfort in the beginning, but try to stick it out. My doctor recommended 3 shots total: 300 mg, 300 mg, 100 mg. After the first shot, I realized I feel fine, I called the doctor's office and canceled my next shots. There are some side effects, my constipation is horrible, I feel like I gained a few pounds (for some reason, I craved SWEETS the first month). However, it’s been two months since my shot, and I feel better every day!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Was prescribed the tablets (then films) for 2 years before I finally got the Sublocade injection. I did not dose as normal on the morning of the injection. The injection burned going in, lasting about 1-2 minutes. Right away, I could tell that a decent amount of buprenorphine had entered my system. I told my doctor that I hadn't dosed my films that morning; he suggested that it might help to take 1 or 2 films, in addition to the injection. I took 2 films and, no doubt about it, I had a significant amount of bupe in my system. Slept really well that first night, and when I woke up, I could tell that I'd woken up with a good amount of bupe already in my system. And this matches clinical trial data that Tmax, following the first injection, is at about 24 hours -- i.e., an initial peak in plasma bupe levels occurs about 24 hours after the initial injection. So now I am waiting to see what the coming days bring. My hope is that I'll be totally free from having to put things under my tongue."

Sublocade is not for me, and I will not be getting a third injection. My doctor told me to take half a strip a day, but it’s not helping. She said if I take any more, it’ll make me sicker. I’m ready to get the medication out of my body so I can get back on the strips daily. Sublocade is not for me! This has been a terrible experience for me!!!"

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "So I was on Subutex for two years and then I heard of Sublocade 300 mg. I took one shot, and then they told me I had to take another shot the next month of 100 mg. I never went to get the next shot, and I never withdrew. It just titrated me off without any withdrawal. I never needed to get another shot. It was the best thing I’ve ever done. Don’t be scared to get off of it. Once you get one shot, it releases so slowly that by the time it’s done, you no longer need it. Trust me, I’ve had this issue for so long. I’ve even done Ibogaine in Cancun. This is the next best thing to Ibogaine."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "I'm scheduled to get my Sublocade shot in 6 days. I've been on Suboxone since 2007, still feel like a drug addict, still chasing down the meds, reinforcing that drug seeking, that's what I want to stop. The reviews that I've read, it seems to be working best for dosages like 12 mg-24 mg. Low dose may be getting too much medication, symptoms are fairly close. It is approximately 2 mg released per hour, my doctor will supplement it until my body gets used to the slow release. I'm on a 24 mg split dose, I get 12 mg in the AM then 12 mg PM. You don't get that initial high, but I'm not sick either, plus I'm not trying to get 'high, I'm trying for clean."
