"4 mg every day wipes away damn near all my withdrawal symptoms and allows me to be comfortable and live a much better life than I would without the subs. Great stuff. Recommend anyone that is stuck on opiates (heroin, oxy, shit, even methadone) to give buprenorphine a chance."

"I was on sub strips for 6 months, then switched to the Sublocade injection for 5 months. It's been two months since my 5th shot, and overall I feel okay. A little nauseous and fatigued, but all manageable so far. Hoping to get off this medication for good, as I desire complete abstinence, but to each their own! This drug made it so much better, no more waking up feeling like garbage until my strip started to work. No more hankering for the next strip! It made my life normal again, and for that, I am VERY grateful!"

"I was an addict for 17 years. I used opiates and coke. I got on Suboxone 7 years ago and have been clean for 5. But I was still on 4 mg of Suboxone. I got 1 Sublocade injection back in June. Afterwards, because of COVID, it was a pain going to the doctor. I really didn't like the injection, so I got a script of Suboxone. I decided to wait until I needed them. It has been almost 6 months, and I've been opiate and Suboxone-free. I've had minor withdrawals, but nothing I couldn't handle. It seems too good to be true, but it is. It worked for me so far, and I'm pretty sure one injection shot isn't gonna last this long. Anyway, hope you all the best."

"I was on opioids for 8 years, I recently checked myself into a facility for 30 days, which had me on a total of 12 mg Subs a day. I recently received my Sublocade injection 2 weeks ago. There was a slight sensation upon injection (lasted maybe 20 seconds), which I felt at the end. I haven't had any cravings at all whatsoever. My injection site is perfectly fine (I have very sensitive skin). Little bump, that's it. I feel so free! I hope this information inspires someone on their journey or about to start."

"I have had an on/off opiate addiction for 7 years. The only reason that I maintained the addiction was fear of withdrawal symptoms. I waited 12 hours after taking an opiate before taking the Subutex. The withdrawal symptoms on the Subutex were almost non-existent. I highly recommend this for anyone who is serious about quitting."

"I'm 26 and from Scotland, and I was addicted to heroin. Luckily, at the age of 17, I was told about Subutex by my counselor. I had been on a methadone prescription but was left without a chemist. So this left me back on heroin. I never liked methadone as it gave me a similar feeling to heroin: the drowsiness, brain fog, bad memory, and no appetite. My counselor put me on Subutex, I was so grateful she was so lovely about my situation. Not having a chemist, she met me every day to give it to me at my home. Not sure if she was meant to do that, but she showed belief in me. I started off at 16mg and I instantly stopped using. I've been clean for 9 years now. I receive 2mg Suboxone and 4x 0.4mg Subutex daily. I hope to taper off completely."

"I have been on Sublocade for 5 months, it's a miracle. Never could I imagine not taking something after 30 years (yes years!) of being a heroin addict, I just can't believe it. I'm in month 5 and going strong. I'd advise any opiate addict to give it a go, you won't regret it."

"I have been on Subutex 8 mg twice a day for 15 months. I was on heroin for almost 5 years. I tried numerous times to get clean because nothing worked. The doctor tried me on Suboxone (yuck) and a lot of other things. I was at rock bottom, and my sister was already on Subutex, so she let me try it (I know, not supposed to take anyone's medicine), but I was at the end of my rope. But I am 100% thankful I did. It gave me my life back. I made an appointment right away because it was the only thing that helped me, and I didn't want to be using drugs anymore. Now I have energy. I am no longer depressed. I actually have a life that I love. I don't think about using, and I take Subutex as prescribed. I went from homeless gutter rat to having a full-time job, a beautiful house, and a vehicle. No matter what you read, everyone has to decide for themselves if it works for you. Me personally, I couldn't have gotten my life back without it."

"Subutex saved my life, hands down. I was an out-of-control opiate addict before I finally admitted my problem to my doctor. I was put on Suboxone first but had negative reactions to the naloxone in it (rashes and swelling). The Subutex was more effective too. I had to stop taking it cold turkey when I got pregnant and suffered some pretty rough withdrawal symptoms (nothing as bad as detoxing from oxycodone though). A few months ago, I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and was prescribed opiates to treat the excruciating pain. I immediately started abusing them and found myself back in the clutches of addiction. I just got back on Subutex today. I'm so thankful for this medication. I know I can regain control of my life again!"

"I've had an on-and-off relationship with opiates for many years now, my addictive personality has completely taken over my life and I'm out of control since my mother died, but I chose to get it back by taking Subutex. I get no euphoria, I get nothing except a feeling of normality, but now I'm extremely worried reading about others' experiences of trying to get off the medicine. I did a methadone program once and tapered off, I was free from opiates for many years until quite recently, my doctor told me the Subutex would be better and easier to get off than methadone. I hope this is the case, I've been on the Subutex for 3 months now. At first, I took 24mg a day, now I take between 12 and 16mg a day, depending on how I feel."

"My husband has been on Suboxone for three years. Three days ago, he received his first Sublocade injection. It does leave a knot at the injection site but isn't painful. The day of the shot, he experienced extreme euphoria (unusual for him with bup/nal) and said his head felt a lot of pressure but felt no withdrawal symptoms. Day two, the euphoric feeling was gone, but he said he felt like he'd been hit by a truck and had a massive headache. Still no withdrawal, though. Today is day three, and he woke up with another truly bad headache that made him nauseous. Still, though, no withdrawals. The goal is to eventually wean off the medication. He's being patient and trying to believe these side effects (reported as common) are just his body adapting to the new delivery system. The most important thing is to avoid debilitating withdrawal. For that purpose, it has been effective. I'll continue to post as he moves closer to the end of the first cycle and when he receives his second injection."

"In Tennessee, if you have Medicaid, the shot is completely covered. I'm completely at ease. If you're really willing to quit, the medication will work. However, stop relying on the medication alone. See a therapist, and go to meetings. They have them online. Sublocade has a program where you only have to pay $5 a shot most of the time if you're not on state Medicaid. I do what I'm supposed to do to stay clean. If you truly want the same thing, you'll do what you gotta do. And if you try this medication, do the things I've suggested here, stop making excuses, and change your lifestyle, you will get clean and stay that way. It's time to be honest with yourself and get a grip!!!!"

"Since I’ve been on the Sublocade, which has been two months now, I feel like I have lifted a huge weight off my back. I get out of bed right away, and I just go about my day instead of worrying about taking the time to dissolve two strips under my tongue for like a half hour. I have noticed a change in my behavior as far as just being more positive about not being stuck on some medication, even though I still am on it - it’s just a little more liberating."

"I started taking pain meds after having many, many operations. I was on pain meds for years, from 1996 to 2005. I was up to 140 mg of methadone and five 30 mg roxicodone for breakthrough pain a day. I was tired of taking this stuff. I got down to 5 mg of methadone a day and quit. I was miserable! I went through serious withdrawals! I called a doctor in town, told him my story, and he put me on Subutex. That was the beginning of 2005, and I am still on it today, and I have never touched another pain pill since. It works for both cravings and for pain help too. Although it is not as good as the others for pain relief, it works well enough, and I'm happy for it."

"I seem to be the only person who has noticed a marked increase in depression since taking this injection. I start feeling like rubbish a couple of weeks after my injection, and become listless and overall have little motivation. I certainly am puzzled that I’ve read nothing from others who might be experiencing the same. I’ve taken a lot of recreational drugs for a couple of decades but stopped opiate use a few years ago with the help of Subutex (and a personal preference for coke), and I am really not a success story with coming off Subutex. I hoped the Sublocade injection would help, but it’s actually worse than the strips. The pain others cite regarding the actual injection is not an issue for me, it’s the depression that sneaks up on me a couple of weeks after I have the injection. It seems odd that after years of methadone then Subutex strips I’d have bad depression only on Sublocade, but that’s how it is. I have nothing to gain or lose by writing here. It’s rubbish for me!"

"My son was one of the first shots released in April. He just got shot number 8. He feels great. No withdrawals. No ups and downs. No cravings. Doesn’t even think about it. Lives a completely normal life now. The shot hurts, but he says it’s worth it. I am so grateful for this medicine. The choice of taking Suboxone every day was not working for him. Having the shot in him with no choice made all the difference. He wants to stop at shot 12."

"I was opiate dependent for eight years. I tried everything to get off of them with no luck. But I had the best Dr. working with me! Finally, she suggested Sublocade. I was on the shot about 2 years. Every time I would decide to go without it to see if I could finally be free from opiates, I would start having withdrawals. We tried again 7 months ago, this time I have been opiate free for the past 7 months! Not a single withdrawal symptom! I FINALLY HAVE MY LIFE BACK! Thank you, Sublocade, a true miracle drug for opiate dependency!"

"Self-educate, self-education, self-educate. Learn everything you can before starting Suboxone, and make sure it's right for your situation. For people with large dose dependence, it is a great tool, for people with small doses under 60-80 mg oxycodone, I do not recommend it, that's like killing an ant with a sledgehammer. It takes my cravings and withdrawal symptoms completely away, my use was about 150 mg oxycodone a day. Yes, it does have a pretty nasty withdrawal itself when stopped. It's less intense but lasts far longer than oxy withdrawals. Low and slow is the name of the game. Take your time on reducing dosage and go as low as possible. I was down to .0325 milligrams when I jumped. I had low energy for about 8 weeks after stopping."

"I started Sublocade a year ago. I had significant clean time with the strips and eventually got off them, stayed completely clean except for weed for 3 years. Anyway, I started shooting meth and coke again, which eventually led back to heroin. I went to inpatient and was desperate to get back on the subs but learned of Sublocade. I struggled for my first six months on the injection, meaning I still smoked crack and shot up fetty. There were mornings where I'd shoot up then go get my shot. It never gave me any precipitated withdrawal symptoms and actually prevented me from getting dope sick if I couldn't score. But because of house arrest and my employer, I had to get the illegal drugs out of my system. Now I am 6 months clean, and I know there is no way I could not have done it without Sublocade. Since I stopped using and actually let the medicine do its job, I feel amazing."

"So I have a pretty good dependency on painkillers, oxycodone 15 mg to be exact. I was snorting about 120 to 210 mg a day, it varied from day to day. I have a buddy that had some Subutex. I bought 8, 8 mg pills from him, and I've been slicing them into quarters, and it has killed all withdrawal symptoms. I am using the Subutex to come off of taking opiates since 2013. I haven't had any oxy in 4 days, I think, and have 4 subs left. I hope this works because I am sick of being a slave to oxy."

"Suboxone/Subutex has saved my life. After five years of opiate addiction, this medicine has set me free. I feel content with life and normal, for once. Buprenorphine is truly a miracle and lifesaver. If you want to get clean, and you can find a doctor that truly wants to help you and understands addiction, there's nothing standing in your way. It is expensive without insurance, but it is worth it. I take 16 mg of the Suboxone films a day, and I have not had a craving since I started taking them. If you want to get clean, this is the best way to begin that process."

"Been a Suboxone patient for 11 years after 5 years of pain pill dependence. It has been a Godsend and gave me my life back. But I’m tired of the strips. Been stable on one 8/2 mg strip per day for the entire 11 years, but some months running out early because for some reason they don’t seem to be effective every day of the month. Tired of suffering when those math occurrences happened, and lately they’ve been occurring more frequently. Changed doctors because mine didn’t dispense Sublocade. Got my first dose yesterday, and it’s now been about 36 hours, and I feel great! Zero withdrawal symptoms. Only side effect is some mild head pressure, wouldn’t call it a headache. The shot itself really burned while being injected. About 30 seconds worth, and I was glad when it ended, but zero complications at the injection site. I will let everyone know after one month, but for now, I’m so glad I gave this a try."

"I had many surgeries in the past and, of course, became dependent on pain pills. Well, I started on Suboxone, then switched to Subutex. Now, 8 years later, I'm still clean from pain pills but completely dependent on Subutex. And like any addict, I took a little too much and now I'm out until my next appointment (which isn't for another week). I am so scared because after 3 days without my meds, full withdrawal kicks in. I'm scared to death and don't know what to do. My suggestion is, if you can kick your drugs without meds, do it, otherwise, you are just trading one addiction for another."

"I had been prescribed many prescriptions over my lifetime and never got addicted to any of them except opiates. Doctors were giving me pain medicine for various things such as surgeries, prescribing me Percocet and hydrocodone. I got in a car accident and got put on a consistent amount of pain medicine every month, and my tolerance shot through the roof within a very few short months. For 2 years, I was on consistent, everyday hydrocodone treatment, and my habit reached anywhere from 250mg hydrocodone to 400mg hydrocodone per day. I was scared to try Subutex, not wanting to give up my addiction, and scared it would not work. The doctor prescribed me 24mg a day, and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. Absolutely no withdrawal. Absolutely zero bad side effects. Subutex is a miracle drug. If you’re reading this and you’re having trouble deciding on whether to get Subutex, ask your doctor to let you give it a try. It’s worth every penny. I have energy, and every day on it has been great!"

"It helped me to get clean and lead a productive life, but I’ve been dependent on buprenorphine for twice as long as I was hooked on pain pills. I’m finally trying to come off of it after 6 long years, and if I had known how hard it is to come off of it, I would’ve never taken this route. I’m thankful that it helped me to lead a “normal” life, but the withdrawals are so much more intense than opioids. If doctors would prescribe this medicine short term and at a low dosage, it would be a perfect solution, but typically they put you on the highest dose possible and suggest you stay on it for a long time. It’s really sad, and it makes me angry that doctors prescribe this to people the way they do. If you need help getting off heroin or pain pills, I would recommend taking this medicine for a short time, and it will work wonders! But any longer, and you’ll just be trading one expensive addiction for another."
