For Asthma, Maintenance "Have recently started back on QVAR after having stopped due to gastritis, which was probably caused by beta-blocker/aspirin and 2bd blood thinner for my heart attack, which turned out not to be one in the first instance but remained on these meds for months until MRI confirmed otherwise - myocarditis. Respiratory specialist states 60% fine mist particles lodge in the lungs with QVAR, the other 40% probably into my gut, which is causing me nausea, plus headaches and fungal infected fingers (2). Am back to trying an evening one single dose through spacer, rinsing mouth and hoping my body will adapt to these side effects. Has anyone got any suggestions or thoughts? I'm immune suppressed with PMR 18+ months on steroids, now tapering."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have only been using Qvar for 5 days, but so far my asthma symptoms have almost completely disappeared. I take one puff twice a day in conjunction with Singulair at night. I am giving it an 8, only because of the side effects. Hopefully, these will resolve soon, but compared to my asthma symptoms, they are tolerable. The worst side effect being a constant faint headache, but tachycardia for the first 10 minutes after use and an overall nauseated feeling for about the same. The last two aren’t as bad today as they were when I first started the medication."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia after months of experiencing chest pains, palpitations, and, in the third month, breathing difficulties. The first treatment was a Z-Pak, which presumably killed off the bacteria, but the breathing issues persisted due to hyperreactive airways after months battling an infection without a diagnosis. Singulair didn't work after using it for a week or two, so we moved to more aggressive treatment with Qvar. Using the spacer is a must, as is heavy rinsing of the mouth and gargling. It isn't supposed to take full effect until 14 days in, but it has already started helping incrementally. Certainly less coughing. With that said, by day three I noticed that I was having random spells of nausea, and by day four I was having peculiar back/chest/arm/neck aches that seem to feel like a pinched nerve. I will post another update in a few weeks when, hopefully, this drug finally resolves my post-mycoplasma lung issues."
