For Asthma, Maintenance "This inhaler stops working at approximately 20 puffs left. It is extremely expensive, and cleaning it as instructed by the customer service does not help. This inhaler is too expensive to stop working through the entirety of the dispenser, and when I call customer service, they make you call back after a week and check back in with them, and then they issue a credit to the pharmacy that they have to jump through hoops to get. Thank God I have the money to buy one while I wait. This company needs to get it together, get this product fixed, or make it easier to replace it when it stops working. I’m sick of coughing because this isn’t working when it should be."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I use Qvar for allergies. The Qvar 80 worked great. The new RediHaler is awful. I do not feel like the powder is getting into my lungs. I am coughing a lot and am using more than I did on the old format. I pay out of pocket for this drug. I feel like I threw $200.00 in the trash. Why did they have to change it!"

For Asthma, Maintenance "This should not be sold as a drug for young children, and the previous model should not have been pulled from the market. My 6-year-old is having trouble inhaling with enough force and holding breath to get the medicine. As the old form has been discontinued, we got this RediHaler on a Friday. Big mistake! It’s now Sunday night, and we are up with coughing. Praying the rescue inhaler works before we have to go to the ER. The instructions for this are literally the opposite of a spacer. What research was done before making a new device for kids? Terrible decision. Unfortunately, there is only one competitor, and it costs more per dose. This is terrible! We are scared."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I was using the old Qvar aerosol inhaler and doing very well on it. Since switching to the new RediHaler, I am back to wheezing and coughing up phlegm. It is very hard to sleep at night. When I started on the new RediHaler, things were fine until the inhaler was about half used. Then I felt like I was not getting any medication from the inhaler. Usually, I taste the medication when I exhale after a treatment, but I stopped getting that feeling. That's when my asthma symptoms came back. I tried blowing down into the inhaler to see if anything came out. All that came out the mouthpiece was my breath. While I'm relieved that it isn't my asthma getting worse, I am angry that Teva has a defective product out there and they don't seem to care."

For Asthma, Maintenance "The new delivery system for Qvar is a disaster. I have coughed nonstop and don’t have enough air to even cook dinner. I am allergic to albuterol, so I have no rescue inhaler. This was one inhaler I did not have an allergic reaction to. I guess I will have to start trying a different medicine and will be sick with reactions until I find one that works. I have a few words for Teva, but they are not printable."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I too am having problems with the Red-inhaler. I’m getting tired of calling the company to get them replaced. This current one stopped working, 90 puffs left. What happens is that a big puff of something comes out and causes me to cough, and then there is nothing left in it hardly. I pulled it apart to use it like the old-style actuator, as someone suggested, and it is still mostly empty. Last time I called TEVA about it, they said they were studying this problem. I hope they get it sorted out soon and give us back the old inhaler design that worked. It’s sad, QVAR was the one inhaler that worked for me."

For Asthma, Maintenance "The RediHaler is awful. I coughed for 15 days trying to use the new design. It wasn't working. I had bought 3 units from my mail order, and the other 2 don't work either. Teva replaced the 1st unit, but I still need to call them back about units 2 & 3. I don't believe these units dispense any product. Two of them, however, spewed out product long after I took it out of my mouth. I need to speak to my doctor about another product."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I found Qvar wasn't as effective as Symbicort for me. As a matter of fact, I found it to irritate my lungs upon inhalation. When inhaled, it causes me to cough for about five minutes. I didn't find my labored breathing ever really improved by Qvar. I switched to Qvar because my copay for Symbicort went up from $10.00 to $20.00 a month. But now that Qvar's has gone up, I'm switching back to Symbicort, which is what I had wanted to do for a couple of months now. I've been using Qvar for about 4 months and found it wasn't as effective."

For Asthma, Maintenance "Waste of time. Coughing increased. Doctor prescribed Qvar with Combivent; increased sputum along with green-black BB-size grease balls. Waste of time!"
