For Allergic Rhinitis "I don't know what I'd do without azelastine. It significantly improved my severe allergy symptoms immediately. No longer waking in the middle of the night with an itchy throat, can actually breathe throughout the day! I do wake up congested, but 10 minutes after my azelastine dose I'm good to go. I do take it in conjunction with an oral antihistamine as well, but not sure if I still need it... I just kept taking it since I was already using it before."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Azelastine nasal spray is literally the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted in my life (I followed the directions carefully). However, it worked, for sure. No side effects, got rid of my allergies. Just be ready to chase it with something."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Started working in a new office in basement Manhattan. Immediately seemed like I caught a flu. After a month, realized it was allergies. When I wasn't there, I would feel better. When I was there, the symptoms returned: runny nose, headache, head stuffiness, sinus pressure, lymph pressure, pain along sides of neck, and ear infection pain. So I switched from exploring cold/ear medicines (Theraflu and Cioprodex helped) to allergy medicines. Flonase and Allegra didn't seem to do much of anything. Now trying Azelastine, which seems to just create more problems: head stuffy, ear pressure, headache, groggy, tired, muscle pain in lower neck (the ones connecting to torso). The best solution for me was leaving the job."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I had sinus surgery a long time ago. If I had it to do over, I wouldn't!!! I have tried numerous meds and seen several doctors. MISERABLE was my first, middle, and last name. Azelastine has been the best med this far. I do have an aftertaste, but it's tolerable. I do experience some burning in my nose, but it goes away quickly. I can't just depend solely on meds but must do my part. That is, wrap up when I go out into the cold and inclement weather. What's the use of using any meds if you won't put a hat on? That was some of my battle."

For Allergic Rhinitis "It doesn’t clear up my congestion, so breathing at night is difficult. It makes my eyes dry, especially at night, and has a funny aftertaste. I’ve tried it for a couple of months. I used Flonase previously, which worked better. Afrin spray pump spray works the best. Neither is recommended for long-term though."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have been through hell and back with my allergies and sinuses. I’m not sure what to do. I am too allergic for allergy shots, so the allergist put me on this nasal spray plus Flonase. I’ve been super sick for years now, and two sinus operations. Today, after being on this nasal spray for two weeks, is the best I have felt because today I didn’t use azelastine. I think the allergy shot is receding and this medication is wearing off. I get super shaky and sick to my stomach with a lot of pressure in my stomach. Something isn’t right, my story is too long to tell. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I just want to cry."

For Allergic Rhinitis "The prescription was a terrible waste of money. First time EVER for allergies this spring (I'm 55), and as a rule, I don't take any medication if I can avoid it. Eight weeks of near constant congestion in my sinuses from the allergies drove me to my PCP, who prescribed azelastine. This had absolutely no effect, and it made the congestion much worse within minutes after the first use of the spray. I continued to use as directed for another day, thinking it had to get better, but the congestion got so bad that I couldn't sleep at night, even with a topical nasal decongestant (I really HATE topical decongestants and avoid using them). I stopped using the spray after a day and a half; I'm still searching for relief from the constant congestion."

Azelastine nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "One day after I started using the spray, I broke out in red dots around my armpits. Did not pay attention, and another day later my whole body was covered with red dots. My doctor advised I interrupt using Astepro, and four days later I only see small improvements in my skin condition. Astepro is definitely not for me."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I used this before my shower and-oh, the taste is so horrible it's hard to stop thinking about it. I feel it in my throat every time I breathe in, and it's such a gross feeling I just want to spit it all out."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Have been using for a couple of years with little relief from post-nasal drip and blocked nasal breathing. Also now giving me headaches and nosebleeds, plus the awful aftertaste. I wake up with muscle pain and general fatigue, which I just associated with it-doesn't happen when I don't take it, so will discontinue."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I noticed immediate sneezing with the first dose. At the second dose, I sneezed violently for about 15 minutes and off and on for several hours. A constant nasal drip started after the sneezing, and I’m still miserable 48 hours after that dose. I won’t be using this again."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I used to be an avid allergy sufferer, and had been on all kinds of anti-histamines and steroids for my sinuses and congestion. They would work for a short time, but then, the rebound of my allergies were much worse than when I had gone to my PCP. I was recommended to an ENT and went through several allergy tests and also let him know I had nasoplasty (surgery for a deviated septum) on the right side of my nose and was considering having another surgery because I couldn't breathe on the right side of my nose. I was sleeping upright in a sitting position most nights, and just miserable. My ENT prescribed me Azelastine and within an hour after taking my first dose, I started feeling relief and was able to breathe clearly. That was more than 10 months ago and I recommend this product to anyone who may be having sinus issues. I am relieved I didn't have to have the painful surgery again, and I will continue my treatment with Azelastine. It really does work!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I first took this medication when I had a reaction to my allergy shot (at that time, the dosage of the serum was increased). The doctor gave me this, and it worked, so I asked my allergist to prescribe it for me. I've taken it twice, and I still get the same reaction: stinging nose, dry mouth, and sneezing fits, as if I have a cold. I do have post-nasal drip and sinus pain. It feels like I have a cold. The last time I took this was back a month ago, and I had the same reaction. I'm done with this."

For Allergic Rhinitis "So I've been on this new nasal spray for 2.5 weeks, and I've noticed some odd side effects. Mainly that my throat has been becoming increasingly itchy over the course of taking this medication. So itchy that I would wake up in the middle of the night because I'd be scratching my throat with my tongue during my sleep. In most recent days, the itchiness has spread to my nose, and I have to consciously make an effort to keep myself from scratching it in public. I've continued taking this medication because originally I thought maybe it was just allergies or hay fever, but after switching back to Flonase, the symptoms have subsided."

Azelastine nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "I haven’t opened the bottle to look inside it, but it feels like fire ants are the secret ingredient. A nose and throat full of very angry fire ants. I have no idea if it’s helping my allergies because my sinuses are crawling now, and it’s awful."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have had allergic and non-allergic rhinitis for most of my life. Azelastine users said it relieved congestion. I tried it so I could stop taking Sudafed. Last winter, the azelastine worked fine. I reduced the dosage to 1 spray, 2-3 times a day. I used it with one 12-hour Allegra and 4-6 hour Sudafed tablets as needed. In spring, I needed more Sudafed. By July, my head was swelling. My glasses hurt my head. This week, it got worse. I was fatigued, feeling anxious and depressed, and waking up early with back-of-the-head aches. Yesterday I looked up my drugs' side effects and decided to stop azelastine. I didn't use it all day, instead using 12-hour Allegra twice a day and 1 Sudafed twice a day. Last night's sleep was great. The alarm woke me up, feeling very calm with no aches, and I decided to stay in bed until I felt ready to get up. At 7:30, I was up, feeling calm and relaxed for the first time in months. If this doesn't continue, I will ask my doctor to refer me to an allergist."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Initially, it irritates your nose, making it irritated and itching worse than ever, feeling like you've just stuck more of the allergen straight to the back of your nasal passages. But once it kicks in a few minutes later, it immediately not only stops the itching and sneezing, but it also clears out your congestion, and your nose can breathe normally again. I've had seasonal allergies for years, but a couple of years ago, they got a lot worse, and Claritin stopped working for me. Zyrtec, despite being supposedly non-drowsy, makes me feel like a zombie, in so much of a brain fog that I feel afraid to drive, and Xyzal doesn't affect my brain function as badly, but also doesn't help my allergies as much. Astepro works better than both—it does cause a little drowsiness, but not nearly as severe as Zyrtec, and it does a much better and faster job at stopping an allergic reaction."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I flew with a head cold about 8 months ago and had not since been able to relieve the pressure in my sinuses and ears. I finally went to an ENT after a couple urgent care trips for supposed ear infections. The ENT prescribed this... Within minutes, I felt a clarity in all my head sinuses that I hadn't felt since what feels like last year. Absolutely amazing. I didn't get the bitter taste my doc warned me about, but I'll just chalk that up to what others are saying (I tilted my head forward when administering, like in the medication's instructions). It only gets a 9/10 because I haven't been on it long enough to notice any negative effects."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Mold, grass, oak, and ash cedar all give me fits (mold in particular). Two meds control it all effectively (Clarinex-brand name only-and Veramyst), but formularies from the government took them away. I'd hoped azelastine would work for me. If continued allergies, burning nasal passages, headaches, constant dripping nose, and runny eyes are the intended outcome, then... So, I'm headed back to my allergist (EENT) to try something else."

For Allergic Rhinitis "My ENT started me on Azelastine. I started with 1 spray in each nostril and worked up to 2, 2 times daily to see how it was going to affect me. The aftertaste is horrible. I even had my head bent down spraying towards the direction of my ear instead of straight into my nose, like the pharmacy instructed me to do, but it's still gross. I decided to continue use anyway to see if it was going to help my sinus issue. I didn't notice any other annoying side effects until today when I started having nosebleeds. I haven't had a nosebleed since I was a child, I'm almost 60 now, and I've had 3 nosebleeds already today, so I do think Azelastine is most likely the culprit causing them. My sinus issues seem better on it, but they are a lot more dried out, so I think that's why the nosebleeds have started. I'm going to discuss this with my ENT, and I'll most likely be discontinuing using this nasal spray because of it."

Azelastine nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "Constant runny nose. Flonase doesn't work. Zyrtec D sort of works. I am stuffed up all day and night. Always sneezing. Not anymore. This medication works and I breathe clear. Sleep is better. It will leave a bad taste. To avoid this, tilt your head down when using. Problem solved. I've not had any issues with drowsiness. For now, it works. See what happens when allergy season begins."

Azelastine nasal for Allergic Rhinitis "This drug helps with my nasal symptoms, but it makes me drowsy, might be because of other medications I take on a daily basis (Cymbalta and Stahist). It has helped with my symptoms because if I don't use it, along with Flonase, I get headaches and stuffiness. I'm happy with it and will continue using it. Hopefully, the drowsiness effect will get better with time. It did when I used to use Asteline."

Azelastine nasal "Prescribed by my doctor two years ago for acute sinus inflammations. He suggested I use it immediately when feeling onset symptoms. It works wonders. Somewhat pricey, but much better than a full-blown sinus infection any day. I highly recommend."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Last week, I developed an ear infection and went to urgent care. The doctor told me that the ear infection was caused by congestion due to allergic rhinitis. He prescribed Azelastine and an antibiotic and also told me to take Zyrtec. The leaflet for the Azelastine said I would experience relief from allergies in 30 minutes. This was not true for me, and I almost stopped using it because I thought it wasn't working. However, I kept taking it and I'm glad I did! I was taking Sudafed when my nose got stuffy, along with Benadryl, and I absolutely hated the side effects. I have no side effects from the Azelastine, except for the bitter taste, which I can alleviate by keeping my head down for a few minutes after. I've had no sneezing fits, no burning, no headache, muscle aches, and no drowsiness. This, along with the Zyrtec, has been great! After two days, I no longer had to use the Sudafed. It's been a week, and I'm feeling so much better! Now if only my ear would just clear so I can hear, that would be great!"

For Allergies "This spray has helped tremendously with sinus congestion and nasal drip. Really helps with both, which caused some anxiety. Would highly recommend for allergy relief. Tablets such as Claritin and Zyrtec did not help at all in comparison. No side effects for me, no bitter taste. Tilt head down, spray towards ears."
