Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "After 37 years of knowing something wasn't right with my brain, I was diagnosed with ADHD, Inattentive Type in grad school and was prescribed Adderall. Where do I start??? This medication literally changed my life. Imagine being a 'gifted' kid who eventually could barely pass middle school math - that's me. After a lifetime of compensating for my 'slow processing', hiding my disorganization, and pretending to be on the same page with everyone else, this explains everything. Adderall has made a NIGHT AND DAY difference in my motivation level, what I understand and follow, and even my mood/emotional reactivity. In a word, amazing. If I ever meet the people who 'discovered' Adderall, I'm kissing them - my husband agrees."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Adderall XR is life-changing (positively). I went from being massively distractible and procrastinating constantly to getting things done. I'm not just referring to school work or office work. I mean just showing up on time to meet up with friends. Not getting instantly bored with family. I truly love it! Quick warning, take it as your doctor recommends! So much of the bad press comes from people abusing the drug. Likewise, if you're able, take a day off now and then. Perhaps on days when you don't need to work or do much. It's sort of like coffee/tea/caffeine in that sense. Fine if you do take it every day, but probably best if you give your mind/body a rest from it now and then. Just like running or exercise, you need light or rest days each week to really get the most from the workout."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I used 10 mg a day and I actually felt like doing something, cooking, going places and then I was taken off by a freaking doctor because I was 78. Well at the rate I am going with what his treatment is I am so depressed I don’t want to live or do anything. My daughter is same way and they treated her awhile and she was able to work and have a life. What the hell is wrong with small doses of Adderall. Everyone does not abuse just trying to have some quality of life."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "During school, I struggled with learning, despite hard work, I barely graduated. By the time I reached high school, I wanted to give up. As an adult, I experienced the same difficulties in employment. I became depressed and almost gave up. Fortunately, I was tested for ADHD. Diagnosis revealed severe ADHD. Within an hour of taking the first dosage, my brain seemed to turn on and function at its optimum potential. I felt truly alert, focused, and clear-headed. I found I could complete tasks competently. Without Adderall, I'm useless. Adderall has improved my focus, ability, and competency in every aspect of life. It's a battery for my brain. I am dependent on Adderall for full functioning capacity. My well-being and livelihood are compromised without this medicine."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I am currently on Adderall XR 30mg, and it has changed so many different aspects of my life, including depression. I was prescribed Adderall because I was about to be terminated from my job. Back to the drug, I take it around 6 am every day, and found that my overall mood has changed. I am not as emotional as I was before, yet I am still able to express my feelings when necessary without the full breakdowns. I have been dealing with Major Depressive Disorder, and this medication has alleviated most of those feelings. However, the medication has not been a miracle drug, and it contains no magic! For me, ADD has always been there. For me, it took me to be 36 years old to finally realize it was time to visit a psychiatrist, regardless of all the negative stigmas; I was glad I did, because it gave me many suspected answers, rather than self-diagnosing situations."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Teva and Sandoz Adderall taste sweet and work well. I had to get Alvogen this month, and they taste horrible, along with not even working. This sucks bad. It's been giving me Raynaud's and headaches, with no energy and no focus. I can't go 5 minutes without hopping on my phone to avoid what I'm supposed to be working on. If I could buy Teva right now from someone on the street until my next script, I would do it immediately. I swear I'm gonna take these Alvogen somewhere to have them tested. Teva/Sandoz - 10 stars. Alvogen - 10."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I got diagnosed with ADHD at the beginning of this school year, being my senior year of high school. Since 8th grade, I've struggled in school, been incredibly impulsive, had very strange eating habits, overthought everything, and could never contain my anger or anxiety. Once prescribed, my life has changed. My grades went up, and in 3 months I've lost almost 30 pounds (I am still in the normal BMI range). I can control myself. I finally believe in myself because of Adderall."

For ADHD "This medication amphetamine/dextroamphetamine has made me feel VERY JITTERY and sick to my stomach! I take generic TEVA brand orange tab 30 mg. The pharmacy didn’t have any of the TEVA brand, so they gave me generic U31 tablet - Aurolife Pharma, LLC brand. This is horrible! People take time off work to be seen by a doctor, get put on meds for a reason, spend money for the appointment and meds, all the time you spend doing this & it can’t be returned back to Walmart to get my right medicine because “it’s against the law” supposedly! Even when I have the entire prescription (minus one) to give them back. Why make people feel like this when they do so much to try and make life easier being on their meds. I don’t have insurance so my doc visit is almost $100 & medicine is around $60 every month. My 7-year-old daughter's meds were switched as well. I’m scared to even give her medicine! How can Walmart just give you a different brand that you’ve never taken and not tell me before I leave it’s different!?"

For ADHD "The generic manufacturer of amphetamine & dextroamphetamine, Sandoz, is the only one that works for me. This month the manufacturer is Northstar and last month Aurobindo, and they are garbage. They don’t help AT ALL with my focus. Zero. I am irritable. I am getting nothing done and my anxiety is sky high. I am going to stop taking these brands and ask the pharmacy for Sandoz. I complained to the FDA and urge others to do so as well. This is ridiculous."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I was diagnosed with adult ADHD last summer. I had it my entire life but only realized it about 2 years ago when I started reading the DSM-5 manual (that light bulb switched on!). I have tried Vyvanse, Astarys, and Adderall XR and IR. I prefer the Adderall IR because I can partially dose on an as-needed basis, but it has improved my life and work performance immeasurably. I have taken Metoprolol for a little over 3 years and the combo worked great until about 3 weeks ago when I started getting heart palpitations, high BP, cramps, etc. After a little research (I’m a Ph.D. - research is my game), I concluded that for whatever reason my potassium levels were low. I started eating bananas, peanut butter, electrolytes, taking magnesium and potassium citrate, etc., and everything improved within 48 hours. Not sure if Adderall slowly sucks nutrients out of your system. Apart from that episode, Adderall has been great. I recommend Arginine, beets & Citrulline with it. Male, 46, 225 lbs."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for Narcolepsy "Been on Adderall IR for over 10 years. Noticed the effects of Teva and Sandoz are not the same. The new formulas remind me of a caffeine pill. Little energy, dizziness, eye blurriness, and brain fog. Also, pills look different. I believe all of the Adderall companies are using the same formula to wean people off. Why?"

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Adderall XR was originally prescribed to me for ADD, but it worked best as a terrific antidepressant. However, now that I've been on it for 20 straight years at 40-80 mg daily, it has very little antidepressant effect now. It's Adderall burnout -- apparently it strips the brain of dopamine -- the feel-good hormone. I still have to take it just to do anything at all each day. The worst effect is insomnia -- no matter how early I take it, it keeps me up for 24 hours unless I finally have to take Seroquel for sleep. Seroquel is the only thing that will knock out Adderall XR. But I hate it because it makes me so damn sluggish in the morning, awful. I cannot believe it's 2020, and there is still no decent antidepressant medication available."

Mydayis (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I was put on Mydayis, and for six months, I absolutely loved it. It worked so well. At the time, I had a coupon, so after the coupon expired, even with insurance it is way too expensive every month, so I had to switch. I would have been a loyal customer too, but Mydayis is just way, way too expensive! I don’t understand why you make a drug, and it works for people, but everyday people can’t afford it, even with insurance."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Lannett is horrible. Good to see so many agree. My CVS and Walgreens claim it's the only mfg they can get. This is just wrong. Sandoz was by far the best. My pharmacist would order it for me, now it's only Lannett! To expect a patient to accept what they're given without choice is absurd. If all of us contact the FDA, they may pay attention. And each state or region has an FDA Consumer Complaint Coordinator. The form looks daunting but is not that difficult. Google FDA consumer complaint form and go from there. Strength in numbers! We can sit around and complain, but that is not going to make the change. Good luck!"

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for Narcolepsy "This medicine is a godsend. I have been suffering from narcolepsy for about 5 years. I had no idea what I was doing wrong, I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm talking about sleeping for 8-9 hours and then waking up and wanting to go back to sleep. I'm a public school teacher, and I had no choice but to be at work all day. It was a struggle, and I was embarrassed to even tell my coworkers. This summer, so many unpleasant events happened in my life, I decided to talk to my psychiatrist about my inability to concentrate and the excessive sleeping pattern. He suggested I try Adderall, and bam! I haven't taken a nap since August. I do not have any side effects, no jitteriness, no overworking, nothing. I'm just ready to start the day and get on with my life. I usually go to bed around 9:30 pm and sleep well. I take 20 mg twice a day. But if you miss a dose, it's back to square one. I religiously stick to a schedule and take them at the same time every day. I am in my mid-40s."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I had unknowingly suffered from ADHD-PI for my entire life. I was constantly in trouble for losing my things, not paying attention in class, forgetting conversations, being unable to understand conversations, so on and so forth. My life was a wreck. My parents constantly told me that I was lazy and worthless. After I joined the military, I was diagnosed with ADHD and Adderall was the first and only medication that I was put on. I went from being the clumsy loser to the office hero. I recently started college and so far, I'm getting straight A's. This medication makes me cool, logical, and focused. I took off a star because it makes me forget to eat sometimes and that makes me tired."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I have been on Adderall XR for 21 years. Three months ago, my script was filled with Lannett 'generic' XR. I have taken Teva generic and had no issues, so wasn't concerned. At about the same time, I started having issues with depression, body aches, and brain fog. About two months later, I started an anti-depressant because I thought I was just depressed. I ended up being allergic to the anti-depressant, so had to get off of it. Following that, the symptoms just got worse, at one point, I didn't get out of bed for a week. By chance, I didn't take the Lannett XR, and I noticed a significant change in how I felt. I switched to a different manufacturer because only Lannett XR was available (due to the Teva outage). Within two days of being on that, my symptoms significantly improved. The next month, I decided to pay out of pocket for brand XR, and all the symptoms went away. Lannett is awful, I'm not sure what the FDA approved here as a 'generic,' but for me, it was horrible and led to major depressive disorder."

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I am a male in my thirties. Adderall is the third drug I tried to treat ADHD after doing trials on Vyvanse and Concerta. Vyvanse worked but did not last long enough, and I had bad crashing (headache, exhaustion). Concerta did not work for me at all, it made me lethargic and even more distracted. Adderall at 20mg a day gives me energy to focus on work and my kids. It lasts me until sometime in the evening. I have trouble sleeping some nights on it, other than that, the side effects are negligible."

For ADHD "I've had some type of ADHD my entire life, my mother was a physician. She did not treat me, but she knew what was happening. I've been taking Adderall for many years, however, the last couple of years have been very frustrating. Most of the medication dispensed has been weak or missing something. What I would like to add is your medication is not about the strength or mg. High or low, it's all about the quality of the amphetamine salts being used. Most of the generic brands are really poor, it doesn't matter how much you take, it rarely helps. Results can be obtained with a low mg medication if the salts are of good quality. Five to ten milligrams twice a day worked perfectly years ago before the reformulation of amphetamines. What's being manufactured today is way short of what it once was. This is of little help, I know, but believe me, this is what's happening. It's not tolerance, it's not you. Hoping for better times when the pharmaceutical industry returns to quality products?"

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I take 20mg Adderall XR daily for ADHD. I feel extremely productive, focused, and proactive while on it. My first day taking it, I usually am a normal eater. I could only eat a sandwich bag of pretzels before losing any appetite. That night, despite eating almost nothing, I biked 21 miles (my standard biking route) without stopping in record time, without even feeling exhausted. Now, each day I take it, I feel very intelligent and concentrated, and come up with ideas easily, as well as feeling great all the time. In my opinion, Adderall is the greatest thing to grace humankind, and I would suggest it to anybody who has difficulty focusing, especially if you are overweight. I lost 25 lbs in my first 3 months taking it, though."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "DO NOT TAKE THE LANNETT, ELI-515. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, I wouldn't recommend this. I was given it, it is not Adderall. It’s a therapeutic equivalent. My other meds stayed the same, my routine, diet, except for getting this. It has rendered me completely hopeless, crippling depression, lethargic, overwhelmingly anxious, my stomach is churning non-stop, so I cannot even eat on it without getting violently ill. I saw my psych after a week on it, for 6 days, thinking it was Adderall and I was just doing something wrong. I told my psych the pill description and how it made me feel, he looked it up and said, “No, you’re not making any of this up, this isn’t the correct medication, but unfortunately, the pharmacy input it as Adderall, so legally we can’t do much about it.” I have flushed it down the toilet. If you receive these at a pharmacy, please speak to the pharmacist directly about it."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Adderall has totally brought my life into focus. I started taking it about 6 months ago. I'm 39 now and really wish I had this medicine as a kid. In addition to ADD, I had severe anxiety and depression as a child/teenager. Adderall has given me focus, lifted my general mood, taken my anxiety away, and made me a productive human being. I'm actually starting my own business! The only bad thing is that you really have to be careful of how much you take because it can have the opposite effect, i.e., severe anxiety and no focus, but if you take it the right way, it will change your life! One other bad thing is the stigma surrounding the medicine and being treated like an addict by some pharmacists."

Adderall (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) "I am so confused but feeling better just knowing I am not alone. I am very sensitive to any changes in medication. I have been on 10 mg twice daily for about 10 months. The pharmacy has switched generic brands multiple times. I did well on one made by Sun Industries but am not doing well on Teva. Apparently they make the name brand which I didn’t know until tonight. I would also like to know how we can change the way generics are approved. The variations are laughable and can really cause problems. I’m hesitant to switch to a different generic because what always happens is they stop making it or the pharmacy can’t get it. I requested name brand so at least it’s consistent. Any suggestions? So frustrated! Best to you all."

Mydayis (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I have been taking Mydayis 25mg for 2 months, and I have experienced ZERO negative side effects. I was previously prescribed Adderall XR & IR and Vyvanse. Those medications were somewhat effective; however, they came with a lot of side effects (loss of appetite, moodiness, insomnia, heart palpitations, dry mouth, dry skin, and anxiousness). The best thing about Mydayis is the way in which it feels 'natural' and the way it steadily tapers off throughout the day. With previous medications, I could actually feel the effects coming and going and I would get these sensations of feeling 'high.' With Mydayis, I never actually FEEL the medication taking effect, but I can tell a HUGE difference in my performance, mood, and ability to focus. I even feel relaxed, as if my mind can finally make sense of racing thoughts and feelings. I usually take my medication around 8 AM and I am easily able to fall asleep by 11 PM. With Mydayis, My Day Is manageable!"

Adderall XR (amphetamine / dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I absolutely love Adderall. It helps me to complete my tasks, and I have no problem skipping it when I don't have any projects or paperwork to do. I don't ever think about it when I skip it. I believe it is a very great medicine for someone who is having difficulty focusing on one task. Adderall has a bad reputation only because people abuse it. If you overeat, overdo, or overtake anything, it will cause harm to your body. So, it's not a surprise some people are getting addicted to Adderall. You have to UNDERSTAND why you need it and why you are taking it. If you don't abuse it, take the prescribed amount per day, and skip it on weekends or whenever, you will be perfectly fine, and it will serve you well."
