ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "I have watched videos on correct usage, it is NOT user error. This does not work for me at all. With the old inhaler, I could feel, even taste the medicine. I could feel my lungs relax. This one... I feel nothing. my lungs feel just as tight as before. This is a piece of garbage and the Teva company should be ashamed of this product, 300 patents wasted. 3M tried this type of inhalator 20 years ago and that was proven to not deliver medicine either. Please learn from the mistakes of the past companies."

Ventolin HFA (albuterol) for COPD, Maintenance "Took regular for about 3 weeks. Started severe muscle cramps, bone pain, cough, sputum production, sleeplessness,, voice change,spinning sensation, blurred vision, respiratory infection. Stopped about 2 months. Still having severe muscle cramps and bone pain. How long will this last?Could it have lowered creatine kinase , potassium, or magnesium."

Ventolin (albuterol) for COPD, Acute "I do not like the new containers where the mouthpiece comes totally off. No strength in my fingers from arthritis it’s very hard for me to takeoff. And just like everybody else this does not help as good as it used to! Halfway through it being gone it actually stops working. Just like breathing halfway through it being gone it actually stops working. Just like inhaling air, about the last 80 doses it takes three or four hits off from it to even work a little. Please go back to the old containers where the mouthpiece stays connected!!"

For Asthma, acute "Perrigo generic albuterol.... horrible. Canister cannot be removed to clean mouthpiece, plastic canister guard is in the way of use of the product, and hardly anything comes out. I take it for Seasonal allergic wheezing "

ProAir HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "This inhaler is good when it works. After 60 puffs the inhaler clogs and will not spray anymore. It's not a good thing when you have chronic asthma and you are not sure if your fast acting inhaler is going to work when you need it. I will be talking to the doctor and insurance about switching to Ventolin again"

For Asthma, acute "It works great as long as you are not allergic to sulfa drugs, sulfates, or sulfites! If you are allergic to any of those, you might want to talk to your doctor before you take albuterol sulfate. It made my asthma worse every time I used it. Once I stopped using it, my asthma was nearly gone by the next day. It turned out that not only can't I use sulfa drugs, I cannot use this medication to quickly stop an asthma attack. Unfortunately, I know three other people (friends of mine) who had the same reaction to this inhaler. They also are allergic to sulfa drugs. The drug companies need to come up with an albuterol inhaler that does not use sulfates."

Ventolin (albuterol) for COPD, Acute "Have been on Pro Air and my insurance company did not want to provide it to me anymore. The provided Ventolin and from the first time I use it I could tell it was not the same. Does Not Work. When you need a rescue inhaler you want to get relief in minutes not twenty minutes later. Most time I had to use four to five puffs and still no relief. They say it is the same medication but one works and the other does not. Pro Air # 1."

For Asthma, Maintenance "I have used the Pro-Air inhaler for years. I don't have to use it regularly but when I need it, I really need it. In April, BCBST switched me to the generic by Perrigo. After about 8 times of using it, it clogged up, I kept trying and I just thought I got a bad one. So I got another one. Luckily, when I went into a full fledged asthma attack from dust and mouse droppings while cleaning out a garage, I had my Pro-Air in my purse and it saved my life. Had I had the Perrigo, I would have ended up in the ER. I took the inhaler back to my pharmacy but they said they could not do anything. She told me to try and rinse it out with hot water. I tried hot water and vinegar and still it is clogged. I cannot risk it. I have to pay out of pocket $65 for Pro-Air. I am fighting with BCBS to stop recommending the Perrigo generic as they could end up with higher bills if we all end up in the ER needing breathing treatments."

ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Horrible!!! No relief after using!!! Had to call the company to complain and they said it might have been a bad batch.... If this is for rescue just pay more for the other kind.... It the worst inhaler I've ever had."

ProAir HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Used proventil for 20+ yrs. Proair was substituted once many years ago and received NO relief. Cigna stopped covering provenil in 2017 and now my only option is proair. Have been unable to breathe for over a week and finally went to Dr for a shot. I STILL CANT BREATHE!!! "

ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "This NOT a rescue inhaler, in spite of it's marketing. As many have stated on here in the past, when you are having an asthma attack, you can't breath in deeply or quickly enough to get an adequate dose and in between each dose you have to close the cap, shake and reopen it. I guess this company will need to be sued when someone dies from an asthma attack to make the FDA pull it off the market. Totally useless."

ProAir HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "This delivers the medication in powder form in a more environmentally friendly way, but seems thus also to have diminished effectiveness. Cost is also creeping up over the last 24 months (now $43 per unit, roughly a 23% increase overall in 2 years). It is perhaps the best there is, but no substitute for the previous modes of delivery, and a marginal drug value."

Proventil HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Every year for almost 10 years I had been experiencing severe brochitis, and 3 times it had turned into pneumonia. The only reason it did not result in hospitalization was because I protested. I did have to go back to the hospital for Albuterol treatments each time. Once I started using the Proventil FHA inhaler I noticed I was able to take deep breaths and not experience discomfort, and as of about 6 weeks ago, all the wheezing I had been experiencing had completely disappeared. I would recommend this product for any bronchial and asthmatic condition."

For COPD, Acute "This new inhaler Perrigo Albuterol Sulfate is terrible! It tasted awful and I can’t get it apart to clean. I don’t feel like it opens my airways like the other inhalers I usually used in the past !!!! Great for my insurance if it’s cheaper but if I can’t breathe .... that hospitalization I’ll end up with will be costly !!!"

ProAir HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "This inhaler is supposed to be a rescue inhaler. But it is extremely dangerous because it probably is plugged when you might need it most. I was in my car when I had an attack and thank goodness I had an old one because this model was clogged and unable to rescue me! It is horrible and could cause great harm!"

Ventolin (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Teva-Salbutamol or Generic ventolin is dangerous. I had to take one because ventolin is currently gone. What a horrible product. I'm using 8 puffs to get the same relief from the regular ventolin which also doesn't work as well anymore. I cannot believe this product is allowed on the market."

ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "This was prescribed to be by the ER doctor for “as needed” and I hate it. It is the worst thing when you can’t breathe in. Why? Because if you can’t breathe how do you breathe in enough to get the medicine?! I’ve had to try 3 or four times to get one dose. The medicine itself seems to be good but why in the world would someone who has problems breathing to the point of going to the ER be given something that is so difficult to get to?!"

ProAir HFA (albuterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "This is absolutely the WORST inhaler I have ever used. I have tried several times over a period of several years and I always have the same terrible experience. The delivery system simple does not release the medicine for me. It takes several puffs before I can sense any medicine is even coming out. The pharmacy says it’s the same as Ventolin HFA but that has not been my experience ."

Ventolin (albuterol) for Asthma, Maintenance "I have been using ventolin going on for about five years now and I have had no complaints. It works within about fifteen minutes and really helps me breath better. Though when it does get to the end of the canister it doesn't seem to be as effective."

ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Have your doctor give you a real inhaler. A doctor told me about how you get so much more medicine with this thing. Not sure if that is incorrect or if the medicine is just ineffective, but either way, its not good."

Well either maintenance or regular it has always been a big part of my life and it works very well. Where would I be without it?"

For COPD, Acute "I have pretty severe asthma, COPD, and lots of allergies. I just received the Perrigo albuterol rescue inhaler. It is horrible. It smells and tastes like swamp water, my throat burns and my lips itch. I had to take a benadryl after using it. It is also difficult to take the cap off, the holder is awkward to use. And the funny thing is, I have no recourse. I am low income and can't really afford to replace it. But too bad for me! I want my Teva Pro Air Inhaler back. It never failed me. And after reading these other reviews I am appalled that it hasn't been recalled."

For COPD, Maintenance "Teva Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Aerosol clogs after only a few doses. I've found a can of compressed air is the handiest way to unclog it. Pharmacy refused to acknowledge it's an issue, but this generic's propellant, catalent, is manufactured by the same company that makes Perrigo inhalers, which were recalled in August 2020 for this same problem. I reported the problem to the FDA, but can't get my money back on this defective inhaler. Never had this problem with ProAir inhalers."

ProAir RespiClick (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "I was given Pro-air Respiclick by my pharmacy instead of HFA shortly after it came out because they had a coupon that gave me a better price. During a bad bout of seasonal allergies I found that the Respiclick gave me little-to-no relief, even when used every 4 to 6 hours. I have used Pro-air HFA for years for similar symptoms. I'll definitely be switching back. (BTW, a family member with COPD also tried Respiclick and found it less effective than the HFA)."

Ventolin (albuterol) for Asthma, acute "Asthma for 40 years. Ventolin/Salbutamol works quickly and well to relieve an attack. Severe attacks respond to much higher doses in a nebulizer. It does come with erratic heart rates however, so should not be over used and should be accompanied by a corticosteroid inhaler like Becotide. (It is ridiculous that both Ventolin and Becotide had to be rejiggered to not use CFC gases for propulsion. Neither has been as good since)."
