Monovisc Side Effects
Generic name: hyaluronan

Applies to hyaluronan: intra-articular gel, intra-articular solution.
Warning
You should not receive hyaluronan if you have a bleeding disorder, certain allergies, or an infection in your knee or in the skin around your knee.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have:

bleeding;
-
increased knee pain; or
-
signs of infection (warmth, swelling, redness) around your knee.
Common side effects may include:

joint pain, stiffness, or swelling;
-
itching, numbness, or tingling;
-
headache, dizziness;
-
swelling, pain, redness, or mild discomfort where the medicine was injected.

Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Injection site erythema, injection site edema[Ref]
Musculoskeletal
Very common (10% or more): Arthralgia (13%)
Common (1% to 10%): Arthritis, back pain
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Arthropathy, joint disorder, joint effusion, joint stiffness, joint swelling, aggravated osteoarthritis, localized osteoarthritis, knee arthroplasty[Ref]
Other
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Baker's cyst, bursitis[Ref]
Nervous system
Very common (10% or more): Headache (12%)[Ref]
Dermatologic
Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Erythema, edema[Ref]
