"Became addicted to it. Used it several times a day for about 20 years. HAD to use it to keep nostrils open. Finally, a doctor said I should stop. I quit cold turkey. Very hard. After about a month, it was OVER. I do not need them now and do not have to carry nose drops 24/7. Do NOT start using it!!! Have been off them for over 15 years now."

"Otrivin worked great for my blocked nose too. I had a blocked nose for a few days, and it was starting to get too annoying. Otrivin cleared up within two minutes after use. It did exactly what I used it for."

"This nasal spray works in seconds and lasts for hours. I had a cold, stuffy, runny nose and a constant draining at the back of my throat, which caused me to cough incessantly. After taking Otrivin, all of my symptoms stopped. It can cause a slight headache if you take too much, and you can get addicted because it works so well. Then, after a while, you get rebound congestion, so be aware of that, and only use it for a few days."

"Always suffered with really bad nasal congestion. I've tried loads of different ones. This is the best! Better than many brands. It is really distressing to continually have a blocked nose. This works a treat."

"I used to have frequent nasal blockages due to a stuffy nose. Due to this, I developed mouth breathing. Now I'm in my 20s. I took Otrivin every day for 4 months at low dosages, generally 1 drop per day. Luckily, I never faced rebound congestion as my nose never stuffed up more than normal, neither noticed any unusual symptoms. It worked well every time. While it's been 3 months now, I stopped taking it mostly to avoid any future complications. I now use normal saline drops, it kind of gives relief."

"It's such a powerful drug, deblocks your nose within a minute! Huge relief for me for the nights where I had severe congestion and needed to breathe. I know I can't live without it, and I only use it as needed. No harsh side effects, but I would feel cold/flu-like while using it, stinging inside, but they're all tolerable. After 10 hours, the magic will slowly disappear, though, and sometimes I would get rebound congestion. So please beware!"

"The best I have seen, been struggling with my sinuses my whole life. Because of Otrivin, the last 3 years I have not been very sick. My sinuses end up causing me bronchitis, and now it keeps my nose open without infections."

"At first this worked, then got, because I used it for too long, I got rebound congestion and had to keep using it, otherwise, I couldn't breathe. I now use a nasal spray I bought that contains a mixture of cinnamon and manuka, etc., and it helped me get off this, and now I have clear sinuses and hardly ever need to use it. I had a chronic sinus infection and all year-round allergies."

"It's really bad. I will not recommend it to anyone. After my very first use, my nose is getting a burning sensation and is hurting for the past 20 minutes. The throat has also started getting a weird burning sensation after its usage."

"My experience with Otrivin has been good. I have used Otrivin Plus each night (1 puff each nostril) for 10 or more years in conjunction with NozOil as directed by my sleep doctor to help me breathe with my CPAP machine. Every few months, I do get irritation in a nostril, so I give that nostril a rest for 4 nights and then start again. My only issue is supply - it’s difficult to find at the moment."

"Otrivin gave me instant relief of nasal congestion. Like 1-2 minutes. Stinging sensation and reduce at 10 minutes. Bad taste once it passes the throat. For me, the benefit outweighs the side effects."

"Not suitable for allergy congestion, for example, dust. The drug has a rebound effect, immediate relief at first followed by a worse condition hours later. The more you take, the more you will need."

"Worst sinus spray ever. Took it once and started to get lightheaded with chest pain. Cleared up my nose, but side effects are not worth it."

"Horrible nasal spray! I followed instructions and only used 2 sprays in each nostril every 8 hours for only 1.5 days (not even the 3 days mentioned on the bottle). The third time I used it, it was horrible! My left nostril burned like crazy! I had a severe burning sensation for 20 minutes. And then after, my nostril felt sore. Never again! Not only that, my face was a bit sore, and my gums were a bit sore hours later. And I felt a headache coming on. Those side effects are not worth clearing up nasal congestion from a cold! Be aware, this nasal spray is dangerous! It could possibly damage the inside of your nose. I’ll never forget that burning feeling. It was like my nostril was on fire. I hope there is no damage at this point. And if there is, I hope it heals."
