Triamcinolone "I’m 53 years old and do resistance training 5 days a week to keep my genetic cholesterol in check. My shoulder was hurting for a few years and getting worse. It was so painful when I finally went to the doctor I could hardly lift my arm to put a shirt on. I received this shot on a Friday. By Monday morning, I felt like I was only 20 years old. I went from dealing with constant pain to zero pain in three days. I went from struggling with 25 lb. dumbbells to easily using 40 lb. dumbbells. I went from doing 4 sets of 25 push-ups to 4 sets of 50 push-ups. I almost doubled all the weight I had been struggling to lift before this medication, and I felt like Superman. It was amazing for me! I had no side effects. The negative thing is I was 100% pain-free for only three weeks, and then the pain started slowly coming back. It’s still tolerable after two months. Now it only hurts when I resistance train, even though I’m back to using lighter weights. At least I can still lift my arm pain-free when I put on a shirt."

Triamcinolone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "With the first shot, I could touch my toes, but it only lasted seven days. I am on the second shot and it has been ten days, and it's still working. I wake up at 5 every morning feeling refreshed. I look forward to my shot."

Triamcinolone for Alopecia "I have been on monthly injections for over four years. At one point, I recovered 90% of my hair back, only to lose my hair once again. Injections have since stopped, as it just was no longer working. I am now trying the acid treatment on my scalp as a final attempt. It could be very frustrating, yet only causes stress when people make it a point to remind you your hair is falling out."

Triamcinolone for Gouty Arthritis "This is the worst treatment I have ever received. I have had mild hypertension over the years and actually had high pressure the day I received the shot for gout. The gout pain went away within hours, however, 2 days after I had an anxiety attack (which I thought was a heart attack) and ended up in the ER. I have had anxiety attacks at night, sleeplessness, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, and dizziness. After about 3 1/2 weeks, the side effects have started to go away. If I could give this a 0 review, I would. I do not recommend."

Triamcinolone for Allergic Rhinitis "I lost my sense of smell several years ago due to chronic sinusitis. In March 2017, I had a shot of Kenalog in my right hip, resulting in the restoration of my sense of smell. It was wonderful, but short-lived. The shot lasted 3 months, and my ENT will only give it once a year due to the chance of necrosis. I had my 2nd shot in mid-April (almost 2 weeks ago), and unfortunately, my sense of smell did not return. Hoping that it will come back again."

Triamcinolone for Psoriasis "My dermatologist gives me tiny injections under the skin on each plaque. My hands can get really bad. Usually by the next day or two, they are gone. It lasts quite a while. I also get injections of Kenalog plus a numbing agent for severe muscle spasms from fibromyalgia. The pain management doctor injects the muscles where the spasms are. By the next day, I'm 90% better. Usually, I only have to get these a few times a year. So Kenalog works really well for me."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "I have been getting Zilretta injections in both knees for about 18 months. The early injections were lasting 11-12 weeks, now I get about 8 weeks of relief starting about the second day after the injection. I now schedule my injections almost exactly 12 weeks apart. I wish I could get them every 8 weeks and not have to deal with the pain for 4 weeks waiting for the next injection. I am 43 and need both knees replaced. It stinks, but I am holding off as long as I can. I have seen no side effects of Zilretta."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "I had an injection of Zilretta 3 years ago for arthritis in my right knee, and so far I still am not experiencing pain. They tried cortisone, and it didn’t work. I don’t know if three months is an estimate on how long it works, but I’m going on 4 years, and so far I am pain-free."

Triamcinolone for Psoriasis "My menstruation is totally out of control while on Kenalog injections (for psoriasis). It’s heavy as last 7-10 days vs 4-5 light days when I’m not on Kenalog. I was on it for a 6-month period, having injections every 4 weeks. 'Til I couldn’t take the heavy cycle and my hemoglobin dropped to 7. Last month, I got back on the Kenalog because the psoriasis was so bad and inflamed. Now, the second set of injections this month, my cycle is heavy already. Not sure what to do. I’m very disappointed."

Triamcinolone for Alopecia "I noticed a small bald spot on my head in late March of this year. Within a month, there were 3 more, and by May, I was diagnosed with alopecia areata. I was prescribed clobetasol and minoxidil topicals—which I used religiously twice a day for 6 weeks with no progress. Began Kenalog-10 injections in July, every 2 weeks, and by the third session, I have regrowth!! No side effects, really minimally uncomfortable and definitely worth it to see those bare areas filling in!! I’ve now completed 4 sessions, and the doctor is quite pleased and we’re going to once a month going forward. Fingers crossed!"

Triamcinolone for Dermatitis "My quality of life before my dermatologist gave me this drug was horrible! I was teased as a child, my skin was so ugly, and I was told that I looked like the Exorcist and Elephant Man combined. I went through 15 years of, supposedly, the best doctors on the East Coast until this wonderful man of a dermatologist introduced me to the wonder drug! Kenalog has made me extremely happy with the results I've seen!"

Triamcinolone for Keloids "I had a burn, and after healing, a keloid started forming. Note I didn't know about keloids all my life, I had never seen it or had anyone with it. So, someone recommended Kenalog. The keloid is big. I took the first dose of Kenalog and saw a great change after a few days. The side that was injected flattened. I was impressed and happy because I have spent a lot on buying creams and other assumed medicines. I took the second dose, and it flattened completely, but I noticed it messed with my menstruation. My menstruation usually lasts for 5 days, but it prolonged it to 12 days. I didn't mind, I just wanted the keloid to go away. I took another dose, and wow, it has completely flattened with no trace of keloid, but I still have the dark spot, which I know with time it will blend to my skin type. Kenalog helped me flatten my keloid of 2 years, but the side effect of prolonging menstruation is what should be worked on. I had no other side effects aside from the prolonged menstruation."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "Second injection relieved knee pain but not as good as the first. The good results were less pain, more flexibility, and less swelling. The noticed side effects after the second shot were like an allergic reaction with moderate congestion, slight cough. My reaction immediately after receiving the injection was more noticeable than the first with flu-like feelings for a few days. All in all, the pain relief has been good, but I am not sure about a third injection. It may be time to fix the problem rather than treat the symptoms."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "Zilretta was a total disaster. I haven’t walked for a month. Felt sick within an hour after receiving Zilretta. I only hope this lasts the length of the drug and doesn’t permanently damage my knees. This was no miracle. I’m a thousand times worse than I was."

Triamcinolone for Asthma "I had hay fever with extreme itchy eyes while in New Zealand. The doctor gave me a 40 mg shot of Kenacort. Within a couple of days, my symptoms cleared, and for 2 years, I was allergy-free of any hay fever or asthma (that included both in the US and NZ through their spring seasons). I repeated another injection, which lasted close to 2 years. I will be asking my doctor in the US to give me an injection this coming spring. It sure beats nose sprays, inhalers, eye drops, and getting a bloody nose from steroid nose sprays. I had no side effects from the injection either time, except feeling quite good the first 24 hours. And even better when all my symptoms went away."

Triamcinolone for Lupus "Best drug ever! I only wish it lasted longer. I get 80 mg every 3 months in alternating butt cheeks. Takes about 24 hours, then wow, I'm suddenly able to move again. Not total pain loss, of course, but much, much better. No side effects. I have severe joint pain all over, so this is a miracle drug for me! At about 2 1/2 months, pain starts to creep back in. I wish I could get it monthly, but Dr. says it really should be every 4 months but is willing to give it to me every 3 months. I highly recommend!"

I broke out in hives and welts. I had horrible, intensely frightening thoughts, anxiety, and depression for 18 months. Every day was a nightmare."

Triamcinolone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I'm a 24-year-old female and have had RA since I was 8 years old. I had an 80 mg IM injection in December, and within 24 hours, my face was red and burning. 5 months later, I am still suffering the horrible side effects of this. I constantly have hot flushes, nausea, irregular menstrual cycles, and unwanted hair growth. I have no idea if and when these symptoms will subside and completely regret taking it. With regard to my joint inflammation, it has eased the pain, but I still have residual swelling. My fatigue has also worsened since the injection."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "My right knee is almost bone on bone. My left knee isn't as bad but still hurts. I have tried cortisone and gel injections. Neither worked for me. My doctor suggested I try Zilretta. I had an injection in both knees 5 days ago. I am having really bad headaches, and my kneecaps are very painful. I am also experiencing fatigue. It's hard to believe all this would be from the Zilretta, but I can't attribute my symptoms to anything else. I don't think I will be getting any more of these injections. My doctor says I'm too young for knee replacements, but I'm in so much pain."

Triamcinolone for Osteoarthritis "I had a shot of this medication in my knee, and I have had severe leg cramps. When I asked the doctor about how long the side effects were going to last, he said 3 to 4 days. At this point, I can hardly walk. I definitely would not recommend this drug. Additionally, I believe cortisone is better than this stuff. Good night cramps are unbearable. I drink a lot of water to stay hydrated."

Triamcinolone "35F, Started 2019 (4 years). I have a torn hip labrum. First injections were 7/2019, lasted 5 months, then 1/2020, lasted over a year, then July 2021 lasted long enough for my hip to rehabilitate & not need another. Each shot disrupted my menstrual cycle. I would get my period 4-7 days after receiving the injection regardless of how recently I had just had it or if I currently had it. I also gained 10-15 lbs with each injection. May 2022, I didn't need it for my hip anymore, but now needed it for my back. I figured I would try it since it helped my hip so much. I have a herniated L5-S1, I received bilateral epidural injections. It didn't help AT ALL. I ended up in the ER a week later because I couldn't sit up/stand/walk straight. It never kicked in or worked. 2023 tried again in SI joint, lasted 2 weeks. Bled for 2 months. Won't try again. Gained weight of 50 lbs overall in 3 years from this. It worked for my hip but not for my spine."

For Psoriasis "It was amazing. I've had a large, full body breakout of psoriasis for about a month now. This was due to the fact that four previous physicians could not figure out what it was. I went to a dermatologist, he gave me triamcinolone, and it made my skin look so much better in a matter of days."
