For Inflammatory Conditions "I had a shot of Kenalog put in each SI joint. He said he put a total of 30 on 8/6/19. They never told me about any side effects, and I've been miserable ever since. Severe fatigue, shortness of breath, very bad anxiety, weak, depressed, and it hasn't gotten any better. It also messed up my thyroid medication. I have no thyroid, and now it's very low, which is making things worse. I wish someone could tell me how long these side effects last. It will be 2 months on the 6th of October, and I'm not better. These shots have ruined my life, and now they told me to never get another one, which I would never. I just want my life back. Could someone tell me how long it will take these side effects to go away? Thank you."

For Gouty Arthritis "This is the worst treatment I have ever received. I have had mild hypertension over the years and actually had high pressure the day I received the shot for gout. The gout pain went away within hours, however, 2 days after I had an anxiety attack (which I thought was a heart attack) and ended up in the ER. I have had anxiety attacks at night, sleeplessness, heart palpitations, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, and dizziness. After about 3 1/2 weeks, the side effects have started to go away. If I could give this a 0 review, I would. I do not recommend."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I'm a 24-year-old female and have had RA since I was 8 years old. I had an 80 mg IM injection in December, and within 24 hours, my face was red and burning. 5 months later, I am still suffering the horrible side effects of this. I constantly have hot flushes, nausea, irregular menstrual cycles, and unwanted hair growth. I have no idea if and when these symptoms will subside and completely regret taking it. With regard to my joint inflammation, it has eased the pain, but I still have residual swelling. My fatigue has also worsened since the injection."

For Osteoarthritis "My right knee is almost bone on bone. My left knee isn't as bad but still hurts. I have tried cortisone and gel injections. Neither worked for me. My doctor suggested I try Zilretta. I had an injection in both knees 5 days ago. I am having really bad headaches, and my kneecaps are very painful. I am also experiencing fatigue. It's hard to believe all this would be from the Zilretta, but I can't attribute my symptoms to anything else. I don't think I will be getting any more of these injections. My doctor says I'm too young for knee replacements, but I'm in so much pain."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I had a shoulder injection for chronic pain. The next day, I went into horrible AFib, which lasted 10 days. Two days after the injection, I developed severe headaches with pain behind my left eye. Then, I got so fatigued and could not do anything. I'm still feeling bad 11 days after the injection. My doctor said these are all side effects of Kenalog. I would have refused the injection if I had known of these side effects. I have had other injections for lower back, etc., and never had this reaction."

For Osteoarthritis "I am an active 80-year-old woman. I had shooting pain in my right knee, particularly at night. I had not gotten an uninterrupted night's sleep in two years. Had cortisone injections, relief only lasting about 7 days. Saw a documentary on TV about Zilretta injections not being approved by insurance companies. Checked Medicare. Approved! Found only practice within 50 miles offering injection was my orthopedic surgeon. Just had second injection (3-month interval). Like a miracle. Immediately relieved pain in knee and other places too! Lasted nearly 2 months and began to wear off gradually. Doctor suggested postponing hip replacement due to great relief from arthritis in that joint too. Have told everyone about this new drug, which is not a cortisone. Side effects include fatigue for about a week and some weight gain. My insurance, AARP United Healthcare Plan F, pays 20% not covered by Medicare."
