Tranexamic acid for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I have horrible periods ever since getting my tubes tied 4 years ago. I bleed so much, so fast. An overnight pad and tampon every hour. I wake up in the middle of the night overflowing my overnight pad. My doctor prescribed me these pills last month. My first period was 75% lighter within an hour. I only took it the first 3 heavy days. Period ended like normal. This month my period is barely there, and I haven’t even taken it. I’m on my second day, and it started to pick up a little, so I took the medication. Within a half hour, it’s more like spotting than a period. I love this medicine and wish I would have found it sooner. The only side effects I have experienced are the tiredness the first time I took it and the cough I seem to have gotten after this second time I took it. I’m not sure if the cough is from the medicine or not, but it didn’t start until this evening."

For Melasma "*WARNING* I decided to try this medication for treating pigmentation. Unfortunately, I haven't been on the course long enough to see the improvement. But I have experienced side effects of extreme tiredness, fogginess, lightheadedness, depression, along with a swollen lip and hypersensitivity of my thyroid, etc.... and it's only been 10 days of use. I am putting this out there that people need to be extra cautious with this drug. For me personally, I don't think it's worth the effect it brings onto your body. Along with other horror stories I have read in the reviews, I won't be taking this drug lightly."

Tranexamic acid for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "This drug Lysteda makes my period about 50-60% lighter. The one side effect I've experienced is being a bit tired, that's it, but so does bleeding to death every month. I'll be taking this the next few periods while getting iron infusions due to being anemic from heavy fibroids/bleeding until I get an embolization."

For Melasma "Side effect concerns: After three days of taking 325 mg twice a day, I became lightheaded, rapid heart rate (like it was going to jump out of my body), and extreme tiredness. I stopped on day four, and this may be unrelated, but I have a bad leg cramp in my calf. Concerns of a blood clot are high for me (no medical professional has looked at my leg yet)."

For Menstrual Disorders "Please be sure not to always trust advice given by a general practitioner. I began taking the medication as I suffered heavy periods. I have now no periods. I have now severe health problems as my ovaries are affected from the medication. Also causing slowing, muscular problems, speech, and trouble thinking. Also tiredness most times, not wanting to wake up. I am thankfully a mother, but I did not think this could affect my chance in the future for more children. It completely stopped my periods and ruined my hormone levels. My count is so bad the effects are scary. Cysts have been a major cause of stomach pain and depression."

For Menstrual Disorders "Since Oct 2021, I've had heavy menstrual bleeding due to uterine fibroids after having an internal ultrasound to confirm this. My periods have always been regular and at a normal flow, which lasts about 4-5 days, so I'm finding it quite hard to suddenly have to deal with this. I'm 44 and have been referred to a gynecologist, which could take up to 16 weeks for an appointment (I'm in the UK). These pills worked really fast the first time I took it, and I initially only took 1 pill 3 times a day, and by day 3, the bleeding had stopped. However, I've had to increase to 2 pills, 3 times a day, and it would take well over a week for the bleeding to stop. I've become anemic, tired, and rely on ferrous fumarate to up my iron levels, which can be hard on the stomach at times. A few days later, there would be spotting, and the bleeding gets heavier again. I feel like I'm on a never-ending period and have to make sure I have enough pads and tampons at work. It's really getting me down."

For Melasma "Been on this for two weeks. It has lightened my melasma, however, I felt awful for the full two weeks: extreme tiredness, no motivation, feeling really low (which I never suffer with). These will definitely be going in the bin after reading everybody else's side effects."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I had been bleeding for 62 days, nonstop, heavy. Tried different medications and nothing. Started this, and within 5 days, it stopped completely. I have some side effects: extremely tired, vision issues, upset stomach, and pain in my legs. So I have to stop it-dang it. I have surgery in two weeks, hopefully, I won't start bleeding again. I wish I could take this because it works!"

For Melasma "I am taking just 250 mg once a day. I am feeling extreme tiredness, headaches, body aches with it. I just took 3 doses till now, so side effects are really disturbing."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been taking tranexamic acid tablets (2 tablets 3 times a day) for almost 2 years now due to heavy, constant bleeding for over 2 years. It's not fully stopping my bleeding, some days I won't bleed at all, but most days I will bleed, and quite often I will bleed so heavily it will go through my tampons and clothing too. I've been to a gynaecologist and so many doctors over the 2 years, however, they've done an ultrasound and blood tests and found nothing. It's making me feel so depressed, and I am in a lot of pain with this. It's caused anemia for me and just bad pains, headaches, and extreme tiredness. I'm struggling on what else to do. The doctors have advised the DEPPO injection, and I've had 2 now, and it's still not stopped. Why aren't they taking this more seriously? This isn't right, I don't know if there's something really serious going on or if it's affecting my fertility, etc. Has anyone got any advice or have experienced something similar?"
