Topiramate "I was on Topamax for almost a month, but I had to stop because of the painfully tingly feet. It didn't do much for my pain overall either. I was also taking it to curb my appetite and for PMDD, but my appetite was the same or worse, and it did nothing for the PMDD (might have actually made it worse!). We tried this because Geodon worked well for my PMDD but suddenly stopped working after 4 years (and gave me tardive dyskinesia)."

"I started this medication for fibromyalgia and weight loss. I had a horrible reaction. I felt like I had the flu, I was cold and hot. The worst part was it was like it sucked all the energy out of me. All I could do was lay in bed and cry. I only got up to get water and go to the bathroom, and even that was hard to do. Every time I would get up, I felt like I was going to pass out. I would get dizzy, and I had shortness of breath. Finally, after 5 days, I gave up and stopped taking it. Never again will I take this medication."

"For all you on phentermine, get off of it. You don’t need it to lose weight. The topiramate you will drop weight on this alone. Especially at 50 mg and above. Try not eating out, fast food will put weight on you like no other, so will diet soda that's worse for you than regular soda. Don’t eat sugar-free anything, it’s all made with fake sugar. Your body can deal with real sugar as long as you're not making a pig of yourself. But seriously, even if you're not trying, this will help you drop weight."

"My doctor prescribed it for pain, but after taking only three pills, I was dizzy, confused, I couldn't finish my sentences. I felt like I had had a stroke. I was in such bad shape. My daughter came over right away and took me to the hospital. They did a CAT scan because they thought I had a stroke. I think I did! I am writing this from the hospital. Don't take this medicine!"

"I've been on it all! Cymbalta, topiramate, Lyrica, and Nexium. Also, Inderal. Still am for that matter! Fibro kicks butt, and I don't know which one works and which one doesn't at this point. I do know I am losing my hair, and my nails are peeling off! If anyone has any suggestions as to which drug might be doing this, please help! I can't find this as a reaction to any of them."

Topiramate "This drug had absolutely no effect on my fibromyalgia symptoms, and on top of that, it severely worsened my depression and suicidality. The only benefit I experienced was it inhibited sweating, which was a nice relief, albeit not the point. I tried it alone and also with Keppra, to no avail. All of this occurred in my early teens, so I can't remember the exact dosage - I believe I was taking the recommended dosage as suggested by Table 1 in the dosage guide, but only once a day."

"I am getting ready to start this medicine, so thanks for all the information. I also have tried everything with no real help. I also had bad hair loss for years now. And am not sure what causes it but have found a fix: onion juice. I liquefy an onion with olive oil. The smell will be horrible, put it on all over hair and scalp. Leave on for an hour or more. Shampoo with Dawn dish soap good twice and soak hair twice with vinegar. This will take care of the smell. The results were immediate and awesome. Now, instead of a handful of hair with my shower, I only have a few strands. I have done this for two weeks in a row, now I'm gonna go to once a month."

Topiramate "I just started Topamax 100 mg a day, but I’m also on gabapentin as well. I haven't lost any weight. Has anyone been in this situation? Or if I completely go off gabapentin and just take Topamax, will it be okay? Or will I start having withdrawals?"
