I started off slowly walking 0.5 mile a day for the first week until I was able to do 3 miles a day. I had a friend walk with me, which was a good support. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "As soon as I began at the 2.5 dosage, I modified my diet radically to mitigate or even entirely avoid the dreaded side effects of indigestion, nausea, constipation, heartburn, and vomiting. I also embarked on a free-weight program to build muscle. Fortunately, I’ve experienced none of the unpleasant side effects. I’ve titrated up after each 4-week dosage and am now in the middle of 7.5 mg. My doctor tells me I have lost more weight than most patients have at this point. I’ve barely kept any food down except for a day and a half before my second shot. I can’t find a way to prevent acute nausea, and the vomiting is now making me weak. I knew there would be side effects, but for me, this medication doesn’t work for my body. I chose to discontinue the medication and will work with my doctor to see what other options may work for me. I have been unable to participate in family and home life, feeling trapped between being so sick I can’t leave my bed and spending a lot of time vomiting or feeling like I will if I try to move or drink water. I started on Monjaro for weight loss and had to switch to Zepbound after three months (insurance). I always dieted and would stall after 20 pounds. My ultimate goal was to lose enough weight to safely run again. After a year, I had lost 80 lbs and was able to start running. I just finished a half marathon, one year after starting this journey. The side effects of it are what is advertised; some nausea, it can hit you but goes away quickly, the heartburn was less with Zepbound than Monjaro, and the decrease in using the bathroom is a godsend for anyone experiencing IBS. The injection is not bad with the auto pen. Take the leap and change your life!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound in March of this year, along with regular exercise and a more balanced diet. Since then, I have lost 65 lbs. For the first time in over 20 years, I am under 200 lbs. I feel great. I barely use my inhaler, my knees rarely hurt, and I can jog! My labs are all within normal limits, and I feel so much better about myself. I have very little side effects from ZB: nausea the day after I take it, intolerance to most alcoholic beverages, and I get hot after every meal. I’ll take those side effects any day if it means that I’ll continue to have my life back. I’m on the highest dose now and will continue until I reach my goal of 165. I’m 5’4'' and 44 yrs old. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Zepbound 3 months ago. I began at 2.5 mg the first month and then went to 5 mg for 2 months. I had no side effects whatsoever. I started 7.5 mg last Sunday, and by Tuesday, I was nauseous, vomiting, and had diarrhea. It went away overnight, and now I’m fine, but not sure I want to continue with 7.5 mg due to the side effects. I have lost only 10 lbs in the 3 months I have been on it, but will have to stop taking it if these side effects continue."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started with the initial 2.5 mg injections and experienced queasiness, and though my appetite remained, I got a sick feeling less than halfway through the meal. After 4 weeks, even though I was eating very little, my weight only dropped a few pounds. Then I advanced to 5 mg and my stomach was gassy and totally upset, I ate Tums constantly to control the acid indigestion. The worst part was to come, for one solid week, I was a total insomniac. I mean no sleep. This lasted a little over a week. I stopped with the injections after the first 5 mg one. It is now a month later and most of the symptoms are gone."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Zepbound on July 1, 2024, after much research and many discussions with my primary care provider. My insurance did not cover the cost and, at that time, it was difficult to get access to some of the other weight loss drugs. I was able to get Zepbound at my local Walmart Pharmacy and decided to go for it in spite of the cost. At the beginning of my weight loss journey, I was 74 years old, 5'5" and 190 lbs. I started at the lowest dose, 2.5 mg, and began losing weight right away. The only side effect I experienced was slight nausea for a day or so after each injection. It also lowered my blood pressure and I was able to stop taking blood pressure medication. I never exceeded the 7.5 mg dose and am still using it sporadically (probably not the proper way to go about it). I was able to go from 190 lbs. down to 135 lbs. in 9 months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been on the shot for 5 months now, and at first, the appetite suppression was strong, with no side effects. After I went up in dose month two, I had extreme bloating and nausea to the point where I nearly took myself to the emergency room. Since then, the side effects have gone down, and the only one I deal with regularly is heartburn. Ask your doctor for Zantac and keep it and Tums on you at all times. Thankfully, it has mostly subsided, and I'm down 80 pounds with moderate exercise in 5 months. I have basically 0 appetite most days and have grown to work with it. I'd give it a 4/5. It's not easy, but if you're serious about losing weight and taking back control of your body, do it. Make sure you work out and follow a strict diet while you're doing it to get the most out of the medication. ALSO! Go to the manufacturer Lilly's website and sign up for the savers card. Saves me $300 a month with insurance."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound late January. I was generally a small person and was the same size for over 25 years. However, with menopause and COVID combination, I gained over 25 pounds and my BMI went from a 24 to a 30 in the past 4 years. Both of my parents were diabetic, therefore, my risk factors were great. Initially, I felt nauseous for a few days, but the nausea went away. I started on 2.5 mg and lost 13 pounds in the first month. Moved to 5 mg the second month. I was down 18 pounds after month 2. No side effects from the meds. I went to 7.5 for the 3rd month and am still on it. I have lost 24 pounds. I am also exercising more. I try to put in 10k steps at least 5 days a week and exercise for 30 minutes 4 days a week. I am 5'2 and started at 166 pounds. I am down to 142 now and have more energy. My A1C was 6.1 when I started and is now 5.7. My cholesterol did go up from 212 to 267, however, I attribute this to the rapid weight loss and will test again in 6 months."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Zepbound on October 31st of this year. The beginning dosage was 2.5 mg. I started to lose 1-3 lbs. a week. The dosage was increased to 5 mg, which I started on the 4th week. Current total loss of 11.5 lbs. My provider has suggested that I increase the dose to 7.5 mg for my next refill. I do have side effects: nausea, constipation, dry mouth. My appetite has diminished, but I have to make a conscientious effort to eat. Cravings for specific foods have gone as well. I have a fear of needles, but do not feel the injections or any discomfort associated with normal 'shots.' Overall, my experience has been a good one, but it is still early."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5'2" and 46 years old. I started Zepbound on 8/20/2024 at 166 pounds. I took the 2.5 mg dose for one month, then increased to 5 mg in Oct. and Nov. I had very mild side effects, and I steadily lost weight until last week. I have now increased to the 7.5 mg dose, and the nausea and diarrhea are pronounced. I'm down 30 pounds, but I may switch back to the 5 mg dose if the side effects don't subside."

It wasn't until I tried to have my daily cup of coffee when I felt very nauseated after only a few steps. Day 1, and I'm here to say I know it's going to work out (I'm hoping I can build my coffee/frappe tolerance back up, I LOVE my coffee)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 49-year-old female. Started on 2.5 mg of Zepbound at 201. Lost some weight quickly and got to 191, then stopped. Second month, they bumped me to 5 mg. I only got sick once. It was nausea. I started losing again. Got down to 185. Then, for reasons I can’t explain, I gained 2 lbs despite walking and tracking food. On my 3rd shot, I was very lethargic for a whole weekend after the shot. I have no energy, and I am taking nothing else. I hope it goes away soon and I start losing again. It’s not a magic bullet. You have to track your food and exercise too (which is hard with lethargy)."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound made weight loss easy. I have lost 40-50 pounds on it. Very little side effects outside of a little nausea occasionally. It’s so easy to use with the prefilled injector. I am now maintaining, and my doctor is happy with my weight. I’m so excited, I haven’t been this thin in 30 years! The only downside for me is the cost. It’s quite expensive even with the coupon. I’m not sure how much longer I can keep paying at this price."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on a low dosage (0.25 mg/weekly) two weeks ago. It actually decreased the appetite without any side effects. I am exercising due to an increase in energy. I actually eat one meal a day, I only eat until I am full. I tried to eat more but got very nauseous. At the end of two weeks, I have lost 30 lbs. The exercise allows me to keep my muscle mass. It's great to be able to move more easily. One side effect I noticed also was increased focus in my thought patterns. It is a blessing for that. Multi-tasking is made simpler."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 55-year-old female, 5’7 starting weight 250, started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. 1st month, 2.5 — moved up to 5 2nd month. Probably the most annoying, almost immediate side effects were GERD, bloating, and constipation. However, this did improve quickly when I added more fiber, avoided high-fat, saucy foods, and ate less. I do agree with the others… that it definitely helps your “hunger-food brain.” I can skip a meal without even noticing. I fill up eating a quarter to half of what I would normally eat. I begin getting nauseated while I eat, which makes me stop eating, of course. Now that I've increased from 2.5 to 5, the nausea is a little worse, but intermittent and tolerable. Hoping this will improve once my body adjusts. Overall, still very thankful for this opportunity to try Zepbound. I'm trying to find some type of a meal plan to follow, with sufficient protein and fiber, as well as other foods or supplements to prevent muscle loss, hair loss, constipation, and fatigue."

In February, out of nowhere, I started to get side effects after my shot: nausea and diarrhea. Thinking it was the flu, I nursed myself back. Shot day is Wednesdays. On Saturday, the diarrhea came back again. I truly am excited for my weight loss journey but am literally pooped out."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on the 2.5 mg starting dose. After the second day, I was experiencing severe diarrhea, burping, nausea. These went away on Day 6. Very tolerable after then. I stayed on 2.5 for several months before going to the 5 mg dose, due to the intensity of my side effects. Started Day 1 of the 5 mg dose, and on the 3rd day after it I had tiredness, orthostatic hypotension (85/55 when standing up). At the 5th day, I am still having orthostatic hypotension - I maintained a water source. Spent 2.5 days without eating. I also vomited a couple of times during the 5 mg startup. Once this batch of side effects goes away, probably will be fine. I just think that a warning about the SEVERE side effects that make me functionally worthless should be discussed. I believe my side effects are a little more extreme than most, but folks should, at least, be informed."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am only on 5 mg so far at 6 weeks from the start. Have lost 6-7 pounds already. Minor times of queasiness, and very infrequent. Appetite way down. So far, so good... I have pre-diabetes, insulin resistance, 2 heart conditions, and obesity (after a lifetime of being skinny but now can't lose), and my insurance STILL won't cover it! Costing me $500 a month with a copay card, which is outrageous, but I have to do this for my health and longevity."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for almost 3 months now. I've been at 2.5 the whole time as we are struggling to get any higher doses from back order. I have lost over 20 pounds already. My first shot, my side effects weren't horrible, but I also deal with nausea daily. I also had really bad pain in my upper back, neck, and shoulders like I had whiplash, but that was gone after 48 hours and was nowhere near as bad the 2nd shot. And then nothing after that. This past week though, I've been waking up starving, like I haven't eaten in days. I normally eat dinner around 5:30ish and have a small snack around 8ish, and I haven't had this before. The only other thing I've noticed and just read it could be a side effect is my hands have been super itchy, like I'm having an allergic reaction to something, which I've been thinking that's what's going on. But overall, my side effects have been very minimal, and the benefits majorly outweigh them."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Severe nausea, horrid vomiting and diarrhea after 7.5 mg dose - did okay with 2.5 and 5 mg doses - there should be more warnings with the higher doses as this was severe. Higher doses should be reviewed further for safety reasons."
