Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "My husband suffered from severe nausea, mostly at night, but also from loss of appetite, constipation, and increased fatigue. He could not even get out of bed after one injection. He will not take a second dose."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started out one month ago on the lowest dose of 2.5. I could tell after a few weeks that my hunger had diminished a bit, and I felt a lot less bloated. By the 4th week, I was feeling extremely cold and fatigued and had lost 5 lbs. I just started this week on the next dosage of 5.0 and am hoping for more weight loss. I barely have an appetite, and nothing really sounds good to me other than apples. Thankfully, my glucose readings have come down, and I'm not needing as much insulin. I’m very hopeful that my A1C will be much better on my next labs."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My experience is a lot better than I was expecting. I'm on the 2.5 mg a week. So far, the side effects are manageable. I barely get nauseous, but the constipation is real. I really like the once-a-week dosage because I don't particularly care for needles. My weight loss is slow, mainly due to a lack of working out. I'm extremely fatigued and just want to rest. The fatigue hits me early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Stay hydrated!"

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on the 2.5 dose in October, my doctor felt that the weight loss would help with my joint pain and lower my A1C. From day 1, I was extremely nauseous, had no desire to eat, had sulfur burps, and had constipation. I spoke with my doctor, who encouraged me to ride it out. On week four, I was stepped up to the 5 mg dosage. The doctor called in Zofran for stomach issues. On week six, I called her and said I could no longer function. During this time, I was so fatigued and was having heart palpitations and was barely able to walk 20 feet without being totally exhausted. I chalked it up to being so nauseous and not eating. Then my legs started to burn like I had walked up a steep hill and felt so sore and bruised I could barely sit. That week, I had my follow-up appointment with my doctor. I told her about my symptoms, and she said that rhabdomyolysis is not a side effect of Mounjaro. I was never dehydrated, but my CK levels were still 440 two weeks off the medication! Eight weeks later, and no improvement!"

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I’m struggling to get below 154 lbs, and being 5’, that’s a lot of weight to carry, which induces back pain. Lost 20 lbs on Ozempic from the beginning of the year till June, have managed to gain back 5 lbs, which isn’t awful but still not at my goal weight. I just left the ER from getting a bolus of saline due to dehydration. I’m battling hypoglycemia. I took my first shot on Tuesday. Wednesday felt decent, but malaise was setting in. Thursday, I didn’t even realize I had not eaten all day and all night at work. Friday night, I tried to eat half of a sandwich and was completely nauseous. Tonight at work, after eating half a sandwich and a few green beans, I had terrible diarrhea and became so dizzy and nauseated I was forced to leave work, having someone else take over my patients. Just a word of advice: if you’re a busy person, this med may not be for you. I had side effects of fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, and muscle pain, and I was negative for flu, COVID, and strep. The doctor said to go back to Ozempic :( but I’ve lost 6 lbs already!"

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Tracked daily side effects weekly for several weeks. Had the injection on Sunday. The cycle was repeated each week. If taken in the morning, I was unable to sleep that night. Changed to 2 hours before bed and slept, but woke up feeling exhausted. Developed headache/migraine and mind fog by mid-morning, with neck pain and stiffness. Fatigue, neck pain, mind fog, and migraine came in waves and lasted until late Wednesday. I began to feel better by Thursday and back to 'normal' by Friday. Only small impact on blood sugar numbers. Frequently hungry and craved carbs. No weight loss."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Rx for weight loss, extreme fatigue for the first 3 days after injection (I stayed in bed). I thought it was good for controlling binge eating. However, I eventually started to get so dizzy after standing up that I had to hold the counters and walls to get around for the first few minutes after standing. I also started to notice a thickness or knot in my throat after the first 2 months. I had to stop taking it because no amount of weight loss is worse than being a cancer patient or bedbound. The weight loss was extremely slow for me too. I went from being on no meds to relying daily on heartburn medicine, Miralax, Tylenol, and ginger chews for nausea. And the price was ridiculous. I would have rather bought some cosmetic surgery. I was on it 5 months: 2.5, then 0.5, finally 7.5 mg."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Zepbound since 8/1/24 (305 lbs, 5’6). So far, I lost 65 lbs, I’m 45 lbs away from my goal. My current dose is 10 mg. I experience side effects within 24 hours of injection administration, ranging from nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and dizziness. The side effects last about 24-36 hours. The medication definitely decreases my appetite and cravings. My doctor stopped my BP medication as I continue losing weight and my BP readings are good. My husband has noticed that I stopped snoring, lol. My plan is to reach my weight goal and stop the medication. I have changed my relationship with food. I look at food more as fuel for my body instead of indulging and overeating. I also introduced portion control and exercise, mostly walking and swimming. My insurance covers the medication."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Benefits: Completely stopped the food noise and cravings for fatty and sweet foods, decreased appetite within the first 2 days of injection. Injection not painful at all, tiny needle. Side effects: feelings of fatigue for 2 or 3 days after injection, can feel very bloated due to constipation. Feelings of a lump in the throat due to some acid reflux. Sometimes feel more emotional than normal. Increased periods, 2 periods within 1 month, very heavy and prolonged, appetite increased slightly on last 2 days before next injection due. Can feel shaky/weak if not eating enough calories due to decreased appetite. 1st month of use experience on 2.5 mg."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am starting week three. As others have stated, it changed my relationship with food. I no longer focus or have cravings for salty and sweet, carbs, beginning day 3. No urge for late-night snacking. I can't eat carbs like potatoes or bread, or I get a stomach ache. A big improvement – I was so fatigued before, I could barely make it through the day, and now I have the energy to go into the pool and do some gentle exercising. I just don't get hungry. I was able to drop pop completely for water. I don't know what is in this medicine, but it really has made a profound impact on my life. I've lost 6 pounds so far, but it feels like I've lost a couple of inches in my clothes. Highly recommend."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "This medication works well for weight loss. I have been on it for 6 months and have lost 40 pounds, to where I am within 10 pounds of a normal weight. I’ve been on all of the doses. The gastro effects were very hard at first, but did go away. The more difficult and harder-to-tolerate side effects for me are increased heart rate and extreme fatigue, almost flu-like for 5 days after taking each shot. It makes me not want to get out of bed at all. It’s pretty close to depression. I’m trying to space out the medication to maintain my weight loss but not feel like I got run over by a truck all the time."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started 2.5 mg of Mounjaro 5 days ago and have already lost 5 pounds. It makes me super thirsty, so I'm downing the water, which is a plus. I am not hungry at all and have to force myself to eat throughout the day. I am pre-diabetic with a fatty liver, so it's super important that I get my weight down for my health and happiness. I'm a 62-year-old woman, 5'11, 204 starting weight. As far as side effects, I'm not feeling any except I'm thirsty and don't have much energy. I know I'll feel better when I get down in size. I'm super excited about being thin again. I don't want anyone to see me at this weight, this weight gain has affected my life in so many ways. Fingers crossed it keeps working."

Tirzepatide "I’m on 5 mg, and the good news is I am not hungry at all, as a matter of fact, the thought of food makes me sick. The bad news is get ready to feel sick all day, like nausea, upset stomach, dizziness, and extreme fatigue. Getting up in the morning, even after 8 hours of sleep, is a task."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I love Zepbound as it is the only thing that has helped me lose weight easily. After reading the reviews on here, my approach has been somewhat different as I refused to give up any foods or alcohol as that isn't real life for me. I walk 4 miles a day but haven't done real cardio or weight lifting very often so that is next. I have been on it for 13 months and started at 190 and am at 152, which is less than my high school weight/5'6'' and was a college athlete, so a very muscular type build. I am ecstatic at this weight but scared to go off Zepbound as I can control my food addictions with it and don't eat 2000 calories at midnight anymore. I get full very quickly so I am eating way less than my old norm of 4000 calories a day. :-) I am at 12.5 mg and the side effects I have had are mostly fatigue and my hair breaking off. At first, I had nausea and injection site swelling, but that went away after the first month."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for almost a year. Started at 194 lbs, now averaging 145-150 lbs. In the beginning, I had the usual gastro effects - upset stomach, diarrhea, and no appetite even for water. Despite eating low calories, I lost slowly, about 1 lb a week. I had no energy to work out. If I tried staying on lower doses to minimize side effects, then the appetite would come back. After a few months, the gastro effects mostly went away, and I am left with sulfur burps, fatigue, irritability, and a general meh attitude about everything. I am someone who I would say has an addictive personality, and addiction runs in my family, and this drug works on your reward systems as well, so I’m not surprised it takes away my motivation. Despite the bad, it’s the only thing that has worked for me for weight loss. Currently, I take the injection every 14 days to minimize side effects and also to keep it affordable. Doing this keeps me at the weight I’m at, which I would like to be about 10 pounds less."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

Tirzepatide "I have been taking Mounjaro for 7 weeks. 4 weeks of that I was on the 2.5 mg dose and lost 15 lbs by the 4th week. The last 3 weeks I've been on the 5 mg and I've lost ZERO lbs. Seems kind of useless to take when you have all the side effects (constipation, diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, headache, severe fatigue) for 3 weeks straight with no weight loss. I am considering going off this medication, I think it was all just hype. I've also stopped having periods. 40 years old, SW 199, CW 185, GW 140. Also following website food/calories recommendations. I have no other disease, just obesity."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Zepbound for 16 weeks. I have lost 23 lb. I am a 6'3" 74-year-old man. I wanted a kick start to get to my goal, which I am at. Except for three weeks at 5 mg, I have been on 2.5 and am now after a brief go at 5 mg. My experience has been generally acceptable, but nausea and fatigue are a real challenge. No vomiting or diarrhea. I have had some acid reflux. The key has been to eat good clean food and stay away from fried or greasy. I have reduced my alcohol intake, but they are empty calories, and why do it? It just makes it tougher. The reason I drink some is usually social, but I have found it easier to abstain than I expected. Here's the deal: I think people lose weight on these drugs because they don't want to get sick and choose to behave and stay at a calorie deficit, and bingo, the math kicks in. It's not rocket science. I have taken a week off while on an overseas trip. Again, I didn't want to get sick. I am about to take another week off."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started on 2.5 mg in December and have titrated up every 4 weeks to 12.5 mg currently. So far I have been losing 2-3 lbs a week and have lost 34 lb, and up until now I haven't really noted any serious side effects other than occasional constipation and slight nausea if I don't eat something small every few hours, or if I eat something really fatty. The last two titrations I have noticed some extreme fatigue and being cold on the first day after my shot, but then it usually starts to go away on the 2nd day and I feel better. I have also noticed that if I try to push through the tiredness and try exercising, I usually feel better. I have tried to stick to a 1200-1500 calorie diet and do eat a lot more fruits and veggies, and I feel better than I have in a long time. Overall, it’s been a good experience and I’m super excited to see how much more weight I can lose."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "It has been great! My A1C has gone down, I'm using a lot less insulin, and losing weight. I've lost weight slowly, but the other benefits have been great! The symptoms I have experienced are fatigue, loss of appetite, changes in the taste of food, constipation, and hair loss. The hardest part is the price of the medication. It has fluctuated from $25 to $365. Not knowing what I am going to pay month to month has left me in a bind. I am really frustrated because I am getting priced out of a medication that is obviously helping me but not affordable."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "First things first. I'm a 40-year-old woman. My height is 5'9", and my starting weight was 214. During my first month on Zepbound 2.5 mg, I experienced fatigue, dry mouth, and slight constipation. I'm on my second month dosage of 5 mg now, and I'm experiencing nausea and migraines. This is my sixth injection, and the weight fell off during the first month, and now I'm at a standstill. I'm weighing in at 195 for the last 2 weeks. During my first month, I had no carbs at all. I made sure I had at least 120 g of protein a day, and I weight trained four times a week, getting my goal of 10,000 steps a day. I haven't kept that same training routine these past two weeks, which is why I probably haven't lost any weight. I'd say the medicine really works. I'm not looking to stay on long-term. Since I hit 40, I've struggled with weight, perimenopause, etc. This has been a game changer."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started the 2.5 Mounjaro injection prescribed by my doctor a week ago to help lose weight. I was happy that the injection was super easy and didn’t hurt at all. The first 2 days I felt great! I had zero appetite, even on the first day, and had to force myself to eat. By the 3rd day… it was a nightmare! I had nonstop diarrhea, the kind you get with colonoscopy prep stuff! I also experienced horrible, sulfur-like belching, especially when getting up in the morning, and had extreme pain in my lower back. Then, last night, I had extremely forceful vomiting, which is crazy because I don’t really have anything in my system! I still have the horrible diarrhea 7 days later, also pretty extreme fatigue, slight heartburn, and a nauseated feeling. I am just praying this stuff gets out of my system ASAP! I just wish someone could tell me how long before I feel better! I will not be using the rest of my Mounjaro injections after the experience I’ve had this first week."
