Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro worked well in the beginning. My BGL was lower, and I lost weight. After about 18 months, the control of my BGL was not as consistent. I experienced nausea and loss of appetite from the beginning, but that lessened over time. Recently, I have begun to experience severe diarrhea and belching for several days after taking a shot."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started this shot about 2 months ago. My doctor prescribed the 2.5 first. I took it on Saturday morning, so I had the weekend to see how it made me feel. By Weds, I had flu-like symptoms for the day and missed work. The nausea lasted for the first few weeks, but I've completed my box of 5 mg, and I haven't had any nausea with it. However, I do have sulfur burps when I eat too much. And I have to force myself to drink water. But I rarely eat between meals, and I am down 20 pounds. I just picked up my new prescription of 7.5 and will take my first dose Saturday. I'm in my 50s, I am 5'3" and I started at 267 pounds. I have been on metformin for years. I've had severe diarrhea on metformin and would be in the bathroom multiple times a day with watery stool. I also ate everything in sight and snacked constantly. Now I have normal bowel movements. I also do not sweat profusely as I did on metformin. I have to say this shot has changed my life, and I am happy I am on it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Male, 81 years old. 6'2'. Ended first 28 days of Zepbound 2.5 today. Starting weight 268.4 lbs. Today, 254.4 lbs. (-14 lbs.) Works as advertised. Much reduced appetite, minimal side effects. Primarily constipation, easily fatigued, burps. All manageable. Will start Zepbound 5.0 today. Downside is cost. Since I don't have other contributing medical conditions, insurance won't cover it. A grand a month is tough, but at my age, I figure my health and well-being is more important than my bank account. Will see how month two goes, then decide on future usage."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Zepbound for almost 8 months, with a brief pause for hip replacement, which required me to restart on the lowest dose. I am now on 10. Sulfur burps stopped after 5. Costed through 7.5 and now, 10 mg. I barf like clockwork approximately 36 hours after my shot, but then it subsides… until next week. Lost 55 lbs, so it’s worth it."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Very pleased. In 3 months, my A1C dropped from 8.2 to 7.1. Triglycerides dropped from 250 to 92. 8 lbs weight loss. From 162 lbs to 154 lbs. I have been highly insulin-resistant. Finally, something is working, and I'm only on a 5 mg dose. Side effects: Mild nausea, I no longer have metformin-induced diarrhea, nausea, and burping for a couple of days after the weekly injection. I hope I can ditch my long-acting insulin (52 u daily), metformin (2000 mg daily), and maybe the Jardiance (25 mg daily) and just do Mounjaro. It may be the only drug that really helps insulin resistance, triglycerides, and weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "A dose of 2.5 mg Mounjaro controlled cravings (I want to lose weight), with no side effects at all. I went up to a 5 mg dose 2 weeks ago, and I am miserable - reflux, belching, and nausea. I’ve lost 10 lbs in 6 weeks. I can’t do another week or 2 at 5 mg. I am going back down to a 2.5 mg dose. I’m taking Gaviscon Extra Strength, Omeprazole wasn’t working, and I’m taking 2 Zofran per day. This is making me so sick, not sure it’s worth it."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound for my first time 6 days ago and will be giving my 2nd injection tomorrow. So far, I lost 7 lbs in 6 days. I was fine the first day, the next few days I had nasty burping for a few days. I don't feel as hungry as I used to. I also eat less. I do go to the gym or try to walk at least 30 mins a day as I have young children. So far, I'm loving it. I'm at 2.5 mg and will be calling my provider when I do my 3rd injection to up my dose."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have started with 2.5 mg dose once every week on 16th April 2024. They gave me 4 rounds of this dose. Then they started with 5 mg dose once every week. Initially, I was feeling nausea, diarrhea, sour burps, and dizziness, and gradually it decreased. When I started to take 5 mg, the same symptoms, apart from diarrhea. This time I had severe constipation on the 3rd day of the 5 mg dose, but I took some home remedy and laxative medicine. Still experiencing constipation. But the good thing is my appetite has reduced significantly, I am eating like a 5 to 10-year-old child. Feeling energetic, I lost around 6 kg in weight. Sugar level is under control, reduced Humalog dose."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on the 2.5 mg dose initially. I had redness at the injection site, which went down after a couple of months, although it didn’t go away entirely. When they upped my dose to 5 mgs, I had sulfur burps for about a week. I was on it for four months, and I lost 23 pounds without exercising. It took about a month to see any change in weight. It brought my A1C down to pre-diabetes levels. I am going back on it again, but once I hit my goal weight of 128, I’ll probably stop it. My only negative besides the side effects is the injection tip mechanism gets stuck, and then you can’t put it back to save and try again, then all of a sudden, it decides to release and squirts all over."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "There are pros and cons to every medication that you take. Zepbound does help with weight loss. Your appetite decreases, but you can and will have GI side effects: constipation, gas, abdominal pain with overeating, belching, and nausea. Cutting back on carbonated beverages, eating small meals, and increasing protein and fiber is key. Adding nausea medication and Gas-X helps."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 45 years old and female. I have been on Zepbound for eight months. I started at 275 lbs and am now at 235 lbs. The day after I first took it, my stomach was so full it hurt, just from my normal portion sizes. Over time, the dosage has increased to 7.5. I am a little more tired than usual, but that's a small price to pay. The vast majority of side effects occur when I overeat. There's no way to know which of these I will have then: pain in my stomach, egg burps, loud flatulence, and/or diarrhea. I have been sick a lot more than usual, along with swollen lymph nodes and hoarseness, but there's no way to know if they're related or not."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have only been on this for one week for Rank 18 on December 20, 2022, Diabetes, Type 2 (DMII). I have only gotten sulfur burps and gas. GasX has made that go away. I am overweight, so we will see if this also happens for that. I hope that this doesn't go out of stock like some of the others for people who are not extremely overweight and taking it to lose a few pounds. Some of those may experience bad side effects because this is a diabetic medication, not a weight loss miracle. The weight may partially come back once they are off of it. Those of us who need this medication to survive have to take it the rest of our lives. I do notice that if I overeat, I get an upset stomach. I am pretty sure this is how the medication is supposed to work."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In less than a week, only 2.5 mg, I have noticed a great decrease in appetite and sense of fullness, even when eating a small portion, which I often am not able to finish. I find I am burping more than I have, but so far, no other side effects. The stuff works!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My first month, lost 12 lbs at 2.5. Lost only 5 lbs at 5. Lots of burping, indigestion, and constipation. Worst constipation ever. Many remedies caused horrible cramps and nausea. Fiber not helpful. Magnesium hydroxide helps, Tums needed. Worried about worse symptoms with a higher dose. Helps memory a lot!"

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro over a month ago. I started with 2.5 and just took my first dose of 5. The first day I experienced muscle pain, as if I had worked out the entire day before. Total body, especially biceps, calves, quads, etc. The only other side effect I have experienced is belching. Other than that, I see no change."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am two injections in, third one tomorrow. I have occasional nausea during sleep, but only if I ate more than I should or if I ate something sugary (still learning the ins and outs), lots of burping, and a decreased appetite. Have lost 7 lbs so far, and my blood sugar has been much easier to control."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am nearing the end of my 3rd week with Mounjaro 2.5 mg. The side effects in the first week were awful: heartburn, sulfur burps, nausea, and slight headache. These side effects lessened by the 5th day. The second week was a little better. The side effects were somewhat better and only lasted for 4-5 days. Fatigue crept in the second week. Now I am on Day 5 of my third week. The main side effects now are acid reflux, slight nausea, and extreme weakness and tiredness. My appetite is really suppressed on Mounjaro. I don’t get hungry at all. So far I have lost 13 lbs in 19 days. The weight loss is great, but the fatigue and weakness are really bad. I am a 63 y/o male, type 2 diabetic for 25 years, currently 252 lbs. This medicine is not for everyone, and I don’t think I will be taking another Mounjaro injection."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Began in March 2023. I have very little appetite and eat but experience lots of shakiness. At first, it caused severe belching and indigestion, especially in my upper mid/right back, but it has gone away, shakiness has increased. I still feel fatigued, hoping that will go away!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took my first dose on 5/10/2024, felt fine but did feel loss of appetite. By 5/14, that all changed. Woke up with terrible cramps, diarrhea, chills, and headache. So bad I had to call in to work. Now I don't know if this is what caused it but I was not watching my fat intake, busy with 2 birthdays and Mother's Day. Talked to the provider and they gave me a prescription for nausea. I felt good enough on 5/16 evening to work with one of my horses but today back at work with a gurgling stomach and belching. Can hardly eat because I'm afraid to. My dose was 2.5, provider wants me to wait a week or so and lower my dosage. I am truly afraid to take it, due to the effects I am having now. I had high hopes it would help me lose 30 lbs but not so sure anymore. Effective but not much fun to feel this terrible. Maybe just need my body to get used to it. Don't know, I may have triggered this by poor eating after the injection."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It is working for me at the 5 mg dose as far as weight loss. I wouldn't want to need to go higher because of side effects. I have to be very careful as to what I eat because my stomach now empties so slowly. I have to take maximum amounts of lansoprazole to help keep the acid content down in my stomach because I can end up burping acidic reflux out of my stomach that is very unpleasant when it reaches the back of my mouth. (I never burped like this before in my life.) I am going to stick with it because I like the weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Initially I did experience increased burping (medicinal taste), flatus, indigestion, could hear and feel an increased gurgling sound/movement in stomach. Constipation followed by loose stools. HgbA1c decreased. Weight loss (80 lbs). Cost too much! - At 10 mg per dose x 4 doses = $350.00 per month cash! Now having hair loss."

Tirzepatide "As a T1 diabetic, with insulin resistance, this has been a miracle for me. My long-acting went from 120u to 64, and my short from 35 to 10-20 with meals. The overall physical relief has been life-changing. That said, I first had diarrhea and nausea. This was mostly day 1-3, and passed after the first couple of months. The gas, bloating, and belching are insane-Gas-X helps. Also, day one I had a metallic taste and bone-chilling cold. After almost 2 years of use, the worst side effect is constipation and gas. The biggest problem is availability. I've spent the last 8 months mostly unable to locate my 15 mg dosage-every single month, literally 6-8 hours on the phone trying to find anything. Driving as far as 100 miles from home. One month having to get 2 boxes of 5, which I had to pay retail for box 2. Several times being unable to locate more than 7.5. Pharmacies refusing to sell it to new patients. It's been an absolute nightmare for me."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost weight in the first few weeks. Some issues with belching and diarrhea for the first several weeks, which declined over time. But then, after approximately 6 weeks, no weight loss was noted. Still eating less, so hoping that the decreased intake of calories would reduce weight. Then had COVID, so had to miss a week, stayed on original dosage, no weight loss. Then, when dosage increased after the 3rd month, symptoms returned: upset stomach and diarrhea. During the same period, slightly elevated temperature, fatigue, headaches. Lost from 240 to 218 in 4 months, so cost was $100 per pound."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I didn't feel like eating at all, and I started to lose weight quickly. In fact, I lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I had diarrhea about three times a day in the beginning, it wasn't until about three months for that to stop. But now I have issues with belching and gas. I am now down 50 lbs, which is great, but I lost a lot of muscle tone. All in all, my blood sugar is doing great. I do recommend staying hydrated and taking some anti-gas meds if stomach pain persists."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started at 2.5 mg for two months and lost 15 lbs. I had lots of sulfur burps and diarrhea initially. The diarrhea lasted a week. The sulfur burps lasted a few months and were disgusting. No nausea or vomiting. Moved to 5.0 mg for two months and lost 5 lbs. Sulfur burps a problem for the first month. Second month of tirzepatide, no side effects, but no weight loss. I plan on asking for an increased dosage. Good drug and helps food not seem attractive."
