For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking Mounjaro for 4 months. It works! I have lost over 30 lbs, and my A1C is coming down and is close to 7, down from over 8. I wish the doctors prescribing this medication were better trained so they could advise their patients what they can expect. For 3 months, I frequently got nauseous, but that’s the medicine working. I lost weight because of 2 actions from taking this medicine: it suppressed my appetite, I wasn’t hungry at all, and being nauseous further reduced my desire to eat. It worked for me when everything else failed, but you have to be able to cope with the side effects and stick with it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Mounjaro for weight loss on 10/10/2023 and have lost 23 pounds as of 11/04/2023. I feel full most of the time, so my food intake has decreased. I am paying more attention to my eating habits. I eat more liquid meals with lots of protein, healthy snacks, and greatly lowered my salt intake while drinking lots of water daily. I have increased my exercise because I know I need to tone and firm along the journey. I feel so much better on the days that I exercise. My side effects have been nausea and extreme fullness. Sipping protein shakes and herbal tea with mint help soothe the stomach on those days of nausea. I highly recommend this drug for weight loss. I have seen others with amazing results."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Maxed out on three oral DM2 meds and three BP meds, 5'4", weighing a miserable 237 lbs, wearing size 18-20, unable to muster energy to exercise. Began the Mounjaro journey in March 2024. Increased Mounjaro dosage each time I reached a plateau with 2-4 lbs stagnant weight loss over 4 weeks. No side effects beyond mild constipation, relieved with prunes and occasional stool softener. Today, on the 2nd month of Mounjaro 15 mg. Current weight 153 (84 lbs gone!), with a goal weight of 140 lbs. Currently wearing size 10, no oral DM2 meds, 2 BP meds at half of initial doses, A1C 5.0. 66 years young today, now mowing and weed-whacking the yard, walking, running up and down stairs, boundless energy. Can't stop smiling. This has been a life-altering experience. Got a new driver's license when I realized I was virtually unrecognizable in the old photo."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Miracle breakthrough drug. I am 64 years old with several chronic maladies over most of the last 40 years. Triglycerides are now normal at 125, were 250 to 700 for the last 20 years. Down 50 lbs in seven months from 300, without much effort. Pain is down/activity is up. Thank you, Eli Lilly, for saving my life and reversing the aging process!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took my first injection on April 20, and the second injection on April 27. On April 20, I had shortness of breath, which increased dramatically. Ended up in the hospital on April 22 for the day. Shortness of breath continued. Took another injection on April 27. That night, I looked at my calendar and realized that I had done activities without shortness of breath the week of April 17, 18, and 19 with no problem. I took an injection at about 9 am on the 20th and was short of breath by 10:30 am that day. The endocrinologist says it takes 4-6 weeks to exit the body. My symptoms did NOT improve until the 4th week, and then they have improved only slightly. I can't walk 40 ft without sitting down to catch my breath. Before the 4th week, it was 20 ft. Praying that at the end of 6 weeks, my breathing will return to normal. Also, many instances of BP under 90/57. When this happens, I am exhausted, have to drink 8-12 oz water, and lay down for at least an hour with feet elevated to get BP up to acceptable levels. No weight loss."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for 3 weeks (2.5 mg injection), and it has helped me tremendously. I started out at 333 lbs. Now I weigh 319 lbs. I feel full for longer. Just feel tired a lot, but I take vitamins and something for energy, so that has helped. I take stool softeners so I won't get constipated. I had a slight headache for a couple of days when I first started, but not bad. I don't crave snacks, caffeine, or sweets like I used to on a daily basis. If I even overeat a little, I feel miserable, so I have to watch that. Managing your portions is very important. I'm doing better with that now. It doesn't take much for me to eat and drink to be satisfied. My BP has been good. My doctor said I may be able to get off BP meds soon. I am so grateful for this new med. Can't wait to move up to the next dosage."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Male, 70 years old, 6.0 feet tall, start weight 308 lb, A1c 10.4. Dose: 1 month 2.5 mg, 3 month 5 mg, and 2 month 7.5 mg. Now 238 lb, A1c after 3 months, 7.1, after 6 months 5.2. Unlike many others, I have had no negative reaction to Mounjaro. Mounjaro appears to control what I eat, less food and just thoughts of eating high glycemic foods, junk food, or any fried foods make me feel nauseous, so I just eat fresh fruit and veggies, good quality meat and fish. Mounjaro has worked well for me. I see people have had a bad reaction to the drug and given it a very low rating and are telling others not to take it. Before I started, my doctor told me everyone reacts differently to the drug, ranging from no problems to severe reactions to finding it intolerable. If you and your doctor believe it could aid you, then you should at least try it and see if it works for you, if not, just stop taking it. So my diet has improved. I also exercise five days a week at the YMCA: swim, walk, and core body weights."

For Type 2 Diabetes "To start with, I am 66 years old. Two years ago, I cried ugly tears in my doctor's office and told my doctor I felt like I would be dead in 5 years if something did not change. She recommended and I started Mounjaro with a 2.5 pen. I now take 7.5. I have never taken more than the 10 dosage. My A1C is now consistently between 4 and 5. I got serious about my overall health but especially diabetes. For the last 18 months, I have eaten a healthier diet and exercised at least 5 days a week. I have lost 115 pounds. I feel better than I have in 40 years. Mounjaro gives me the will to keep up the healthier diet and exercise, to say no to most of the sweets I have an opportunity to eat. I was one of the lucky ones who experienced little if any side effects. It is a decision I will never regret. Mounjaro saved my life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "For the most part, I’ve had no problems with Mounjaro. There is one traction, however, that presents itself. If I’m eating a meal and consume more food than I realize, I get pain right below my rib cage. It feels like a real upset stomach. From now on, I’m going to be very careful about the amount of food I consume!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Fortunately, I did not experience any side effects until I got to 10 mg. I began having a reaction at the injection site and suffered a little blurred vision occasionally. I am now on my first week of 12.5 mg and find that 3 days after taking the injection, I am having pains (like muscle strain or a trapped nerve) in various and multiple places. This has been the case for 4 days now, so I am a bit dubious about taking my second injection tomorrow. However, I have lost 3 stone over 17 weeks, so for me, positive outweighs the negative as I was morbidly obese. Any thoughts on these pains I am having, please?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After 2 months, I'm now on 5 mg, which seems okay, but my biggest issue is drinking enough water or water-based fluids. Yes, constipation has twice been pretty horrible. I started out weighing 95 kg and am now down to 87, which I'm happy with. I don't know if I wish to increase the dosage while it works fine for me at 5 mg. Initially, I had a lot of heartburn at night, but that's passed. I really do make sure I eat small portions, but of quality and a mix of protein and fiber. Breakfast is much nearer lunchtime as I'm just not hungry, but I will eat properly and again in the evening. I don't think I could manage 3 meals a day. I can't exercise as I suffer from peripheral neuropathy, and even walking is a trial. I need to do weight training really, as I'm in my 70s and need strength to face what comes with old age."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro for weight loss. I had no side effects on 2.5 mg and 5 mg. Weight loss was consistent at 1 kg per week. On 2.5 mg I still had an appetite and had no trouble eating moderately. On 5 mg I began to experience total loss of appetite. On W1 of 7.5 mg I awoke with extreme nausea, but other than that I was okay. On W2 of 7.5 mg I got very ill. I took the injection on Tuesday. By Wednesday night I vomited once. On Thursday, I started feeling nauseous with an egg-like aftertaste. By evening I was suffering from extreme diarrhea - every 20 to 30 minutes through the night. My stomach sounded full of sloshing water and gas and periodic large burps. On Friday I felt very dehydrated. I stayed in bed, sipped only water and diarrhea subsided. On Saturday I ate breakfast and a small amount of food for lunch. Saturday night diarrhea and vomiting again. It’s now Sunday and I feel weak and will not be taking 7.5 mg again. I will take a rest for a week before decreasing the dose to 5 mg to see how I go."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed the 2.5 dosage as a trial by my endocrinologist for pre-diabetic and weight loss on 9/15/22. I felt fine the first day, shot was given in the morning, but the next day I actually forgot to eat lunch. That is not normal for me. I wasn’t hungry. The third and fourth day I had horrible sulfur burps, nausea, fatigue. On the fourth day, I took two naps, which is not normal for me. I thought my symptoms were getting worse, but then the fifth and sixth day I felt great. I am fearful to take the next injection this week as I don’t want a repeat of the less than desirable side effects. It really wrecked my weekend. On the upside, I lost a couple of pounds the first week. That’s exciting, but at what cost?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In the beginning, I weighed 340 lb and was a heavy drinker with lots of beer. When I started Mounjaro, I was a little bit skeptical and nervous about the side effects and results. My work is primarily sitting in a chair behind a computer and interacting through Teams with coworkers. I noticed a huge change after 1 year, now that I lost almost 110 lb and am feeling extremely motivated to do every energy activity around the house, going out more frequently outdoors or just to the city! It's been a life change for me, and I would strongly recommend this product to anyone, with, of course, the guidance of a doctor!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication has been life-changing. Started with 2.5 mg and now at 5 mg. A bit of constipation and nausea, but nothing major. I started at 288 lbs and now at 236 lbs. I am a male, 5’11”. I hope I can get to my goal of 190 lbs in a few months. Working out, walking, and avoiding carbs is key. No fried foods or heavy carb meals, or you will pay a price. Lots of protein, lean meats, and veggies/berries. Good luck, everyone."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been losing about 2 lbs per week since I started using this. I was 170 lbs when I started and am down to 149 lbs over a period of 10 weeks. I was on the 2.5 mg for the first 4 weeks and then increased to 5 mg after that. It has taken away the 'food noise' where I am no longer preoccupied with what I'm going to eat and when. I have had a major decrease in appetite and there are days when I will only have a milkshake and not be hungry for anything else."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am a Type-2 diabetic. I have been on Mounjaro for several months. It is controlling my blood sugar great, and I have lost some weight. My biggest problem with the Mounjaro is the fact that I cannot get it because of unavailability. I don't understand how people who want to lose weight take priority over people with a medical condition. The people with diabetes need this medication and are not able to get their prescriptions filled because the people who want to lose weight are hoarding this medication. I also want to lose weight, however, the control of my blood sugars is a priority to me. I cannot control my blood sugars without my medication. Something needs to be done so that diabetics can control the disease. Obesity is not a disease, but diabetes is. Mounjaro is a great medication for type-2 diabetics for controlling their blood sugar. Availability for diabetics should be a priority."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've used Mounjaro for 2 weeks. I've lost 8 lbs. It's crazy how it completely takes your appetite away. You rarely think of food or hunger. You have to make yourself eat. When I eat I can only eat about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of food. It feels like that is all you can fit in your stomach. Side effects.. some insomnia, a lot stomach acid, nausea. But it has re-risen some panic attack issues and unfortunately some dark thoughts which may be the reason I stop taking it. For me this little experiment has shown me that my weight is indeed too many calories. I LOVE not thinking about food or feeling hungry but the psychological side effects may end my experience."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Diet, exercise & 1,000 mg of Metformin twice per day has not improved the quality of my life. My disciplined efforts kept me in a pre-diabetes state & made me insulin resistant, worsening my other health conditions. To improve the quality of my life & afford access to a drug that might help control my glucose & worsening health issues, I sold my car & now pay approximately $1,000 per month out of pocket for Mounjaro. It has changed my life! No more blurry vision due to fluctuating glucose levels. My energy level is consistent. I’m able to start exercising, as well as participating in family activities. I’m slowly but steadily losing weight which I believe will improve other health issues such as high cholesterol, blood pressure, insulin resistance, beginning signs of neuropathy in legs, and exercise intolerance. The good news is that as a pre-diabetic, Mounjaro helps my body properly utilize glucose. Sadly, I can't continue due to the cost, but Mounjaro WORKS & gives back hope!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Before I started Mounjaro in December 2024, I was miserable and very unhappy at 210 pounds. All my blood tests were negative, and my diabetes was on the border. After I kept going to the injections at the beginning, I ate and didn’t lose much, but after I moved to 7.5, I lost 60 pounds without any problems. I just don’t want to eat large portions. The happiest I have ever been. This was the best thing for me after trying everything for many years and failing. As a result of my blood tests, I have diabetes and my A1C is normal. Right now, I will stay on this for another year."

"Have been on Mounjaro since July 15th for obesity. I am only down 8 pounds since then. However, I have no cravings, I do not binge eat, I do not overeat. You will learn quickly to listen to your body. If you overeat, you will regret it. Your stomach hurts and you get bad heartburn. I get really nauseated the first two days after my injections. I do not feel hungry for most of the day. I listen to my body when it is hungry and I eat. If I get nauseous, and I know I haven't eaten in a while, I go eat. I have heard about this app Methreesixty, and it shows your inches lost. This is a really helpful tool if you get discouraged, because you might not see it on the scale, but you will see it in inches with this app. I started on the 2.5 and then went up to 5, but I don't think it is doing much for me as I am really hungry the last two days before my next shot. My doctor has me skipping the 7.5 and going straight to the 10 mg. It really is helping me in other ways, I did not realize I needed the help."

"My doctor prescribed Mounjaro after seeing my weight increase. First, I am a bariatric weight loss patient - 6 years out. I lost 80 lbs after my surgery and gained 30 back since. So yes, there is reason to be concerned. The month supply of 2.5 mg dose produced a 5 lb weight loss, and my appetite was suppressed somewhat. But more noticeable is the craving loss. They completely went away. I'm anxious to see how the 5 mg dose works. Some annoying side effects, but nothing drastic so far. Light nausea and diarrhea (subsides somewhat following the first few days after dosage). It took me a bit of time to get it together and start making healthy choices. I was in a very stressful work environment and chose to retire a little earlier than planned. Now, I work part-time from home now so I can take care of myself better. That's just me... I get overwhelmed and spiral. But even seeing this small amount of weight loss from the 2.5 dose has given me lots of hope and motivation!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Mounjaro since 9/11/22. Today is 3/4/23. I have lost close to 60 lbs and went from a pant size 46 down to 40. My wife says I “lost my tire” looking at me from behind. Started at 2.5 dose. Was dizzy and unsteady in the early days. Headache and nausea till my body acclimated. Switched my shot day to Friday night so if I’m not feeling great, it’s the weekend and not impacting work. Worked up to 5.0 then 7.5. Did each for 8 weeks instead of 4 to level off the side effects. Wanted to stay at that level, but no one can get it. Took my first 10.0 shot last night. So far so good. All my levels are great. Sulfur burps if I overeat. Am also doing Herbalife shakes 2 times a day and having a sensible dinner. I still snack after dinner, but nothing crazy. Exercise 5/6 times per week. I think 7.5 should be my maintenance dose, but again, no one can get it. Will trade the mild side effects for being able to fit into my clothes."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 7 weeks ago. The first shot made me so nauseous and have such bad abdominal pain that lasted for 12 hours. I almost went to the ER. I told my doctor about my experience, and she gave me Zofran and told me to continue dieting. Fast forward to this weekend - took my shot on Friday morning, then spent all day Saturday and Sunday projectile vomiting (it literally ended up about 7 feet from where I was standing), uncontrollable diarrhea, disgusting sulfur burps, horrible heartburn, and dizziness. Finally, I decided to go to the ER and got treated for dehydration. They told me to follow up with my primary doctor to talk about the best way to continue the medication. After this experience, I am NEVER taking this drug again. While I've lost 25 lbs in the past 7 weeks, I believe it's mostly because I've been afraid to eat anything. I will continue to eat healthy and cut carbs and sugars, but I won't be taking Mounjaro again."

My A1C is down to 5.4 from 7.5 and I no longer need metformin. Only recently have I experienced any side effects.
