For Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 6'2", 46-year-old male who started his journey at 305 lbs. My doctor prescribed me Mounjaro 10.0 in Jan. of 2023. In Dec. of 2023, I went to level 12.5. Mounjaro, along with a balanced diet and exercising 4-5 days a week, changed my life for the better. I went from a 'Living to Eat' person to an 'Eating to Live' person. Mounjaro helps me mentally and physically. After I eat, I feel fuller longer, and I don't get food cravings. It's amazing!! I went from 305 lbs to 238 lbs. That is 67 lbs in 13-14 months. I am off all insulin. I stopped snoring at night. I am participating in 5K races. Achieving goals and having fun! Team Gavin, I treat my body like a football team - Offense - gym four to five days a week, Defense - portion control, Special Teams - Mounjaro injections once a week. I don't think I could be doing this well without all three. The journey continues for me, and I hope after you read this, it begins with you. Good luck!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on month three. My doctor thinks I might be too sensitive to it and may have to stop soon. Extreme nausea, occasional vomiting, and sulfur burps followed by diarrhea, weakness, and lethargy. The pros: in three months, I've gone from 262 lbs to 239 lbs."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Mounjaro for 3 months for weight loss, starting weight 180 lbs. I increased to the next dosage every month. I had minimal side effects besides constipation and lost a total of 28 lbs. I did not wing off the medication, and everything went fine. I did blood work last week, and everything was perfect compared to the year before. My weight has been steady thanks to the healthy habits I built during the medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm type 2 diabetic and was on Ozempic for quite some time and having difficulty getting my medication. My doctor changed me to Mounjaro for my diabetes thinking I would be able to get my meds. I started on the 5 mg since I had been on Ozempic. My side effects were typical slight nausea. I was trying to get my second month filled and the issues started with availability AGAIN. The 5 mg and 7.5 mg were on backorder. He increased my dose to 10 mg. I have experienced sulfur burps, but that is about it. I have not seen much weight loss, but then again I'm more concerned about my diabetes. Shame on the drug companies for dangling a medication that works to lower A1C and cholesterol and choosing to utilize it for weight loss where the insurance won't cover it. I'm not using this medication for vanity, it's for my chronic disease."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been on Mounjaro for just two weeks. I've lost 5 pounds without trying. While that's nice, I am posting a very early review to let other newbies know that other than some indigestion the first two days, I haven't had any side effects. I had major constipation on Ozempic. I find taking a daily stool softener, staying hydrated, taking a Metamucil tablet daily, and taking a daily prebiotic (get the refrigerated one in your pharmacy as it has live cultures. Keep it refrigerated!). I'm on 5 mg, but I am moving up to 7.5 next week. I will go to 10 mg if there is no supply of 7.5. My pharmacist said to get my order for the 7.5 mg in at least 7 days early so they can get it in on time. They don't stock it, but they get it overnight. Just FYI, after using Ozempic and Mounjaro, I weigh less than I did 10 years ago. I've gone down 4 sizes and 4 inches off my waist since Christmas! Now a petite XL rapidly headed to petite L."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my fifth week, and I started on 2.5 mg and now on 5.0 mg. I have had only one side effect: dry mouth, but I lost 29 lbs in the first month. I weighed 243 lbs and now I am down to 214 lbs. If you don’t eat fried foods, sugar, or heavy carbs, you will do great. I don’t overeat anymore. Plus, I exercise, I walk 5 miles a day. I drink at least 64 fl oz of water. This medication is worth taking. I had no issues at all and feel great. I can’t wait to fulfill my journey. The key is to follow a plan. If you want a life change, this is it! I used the coupon, and only certain pharmacies know how to code it. I got lucky because my pharmacy worked with me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 5'2", 41 years old, started taking the shot in November of 2023. Weighed in at 293, cried all the way home. Within a week lost 16 pounds. Here I am, almost a complete 4 months later, and down 72 pounds. Best thing I have ever done. No more snoring or waking up all hours of the night, and I have so much more energy. Yes, I have some constipation, but it is a small price to pay to feel so much better! Next month I will be on the highest dose. So, from here on out, it's up to me to keep it moving with healthy activity and diet."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Holy side effects. First, if you eat when you take it, it just sits in your stomach and you’ll be burping it for 12 hours. The headache is insane. Starts immediately. Then you are hit with 3 days of nausea, fatigue, and just overall fatigue. Just when you start to feel better, cue the insane heartburn! It took me 5 days to feel normal again. I’ll pass on this even though I lost 5 pounds the first week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I tried Ozempic for 9 weeks and thought I was going to die, so they switched me to Mounjaro. The 1st 2 weeks were okay, I just didn't have an appetite, but week 3 hit me just like Ozempic did. Total exhaustion. I've lost 5 lbs in a little over 3 days. I have side effects of sulfur burps, dehydration, constant nausea, falling asleep at all times, all-night vomiting, and diarrhea. I feel bruised from head to toe and have blurred vision. I'm telling people this for a warning. Read the reviews. People are constantly going to the ER because of these medications. I'm flustered because I found something that worked for my diabetes, but it is really bad for me. Since starting Ozempic up to now, I've lost almost 30 lbs... might sound great, but not when you can't function."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Constant nausea no matter what I eat. Muscle weakness and tired all the time. I’m feeling mentally down. Tomorrow will be my 3rd shot, and I’m seriously hoping these side effects go away so I can get type II diabetes under control. Probably losing some weight because I dread the nausea after eating so am not eating as much. The verdict is still out for me on this medicine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is my 2nd post, I am on 7.5 mg of Mounjaro, and I have loved every moment of this journey. I was 243 lbs and lost 49 lbs so far since October 2022. I also eat a healthy diet and exercise. Stay hydrated because my side effects are dry mouth and constipation. I did, however, find out that if you eat carbs, sugar, or fried food, you will get nauseous and possibly throw up. Lesson learned. Stick to protein, vegetables, and fruit. I need to lose 34 more lbs to be at my ideal weight. I am still excited to be on this journey."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Female age 56. Started Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes in February 2022. Start weight was 249 pounds. Today, my weight is 162, down a total of 87 pounds! No more high blood pressure or high cholesterol. My lower back pain that prevented me from walking for more than 5 minutes is gone. I no longer get out of breath just trying to do normal everyday things. I was very depressed and miserable due to the struggle of trying to live life being so overweight and basically semi-handicapped. I was very introverted and unhappy overall for decades due to being overweight and countless attempts to lose weight and not able to be successful and continued to gain. Now I can walk for miles on end without any pain. I can do things I did 25 years ago. I got my life back. Wish this drug was around many years ago but better late than never. I am on a 15mg dosage. If I get nausea the day after the shot, I take a couple of tums and it’s gone. I take a stool softener to combat hard stools and it does the trick."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication is incredible. My cholesterol and blood pressure were borderline. My doctor suggested losing weight (I have had a weight problem my entire life), which was an ongoing life pursuit for me. Nothing lasted. I would end up feeling worthless and depressed. I started this medication in January 2023. Today is April 25th, and I have lost 36 pounds. My blood pressure is on its way down. My energy levels were stable throughout the day from week one, so it is not just the weight loss, the medicine has helped with my ADHD and my depression. The only side effect I have experienced was constipation, which I corrected by using small dosages of Miralax daily. I hope the FDA approves this medication for weight loss soon. It is a great tool to use along with healthy eating and exercise."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication has been a huge blessing in my life. Started at the lowest dose in August of 2022. Increased each month to the highest dose and have stayed there for 3 months now. It's May of 2023, and I have lost 80 pounds! I was pre-diabetic, depressed, and hopeless. I've had a bit of stomach upset, diarrhea, heartburn, gas... nothing terrible. But I feel so much better. My joints don't hurt hardly at all, I have more confidence to go places and talk to people and do stuff outside, and I even sleep better. I was looking into bariatric surgery before I found Mounjaro. I'm so glad I didn't have to do that."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been diabetic and overweight for 20 or more years, along with several health issues and various medications. Thank God for my doctor and Mounjaro. I started at 2.5 and 204 lbs in March, with few side effects. It is easy to use. I am now on 5.0 and 64 lbs lighter, and my A1c is at 5.7. I can breathe better and go for walks more. I crave no sugar or carbs. I was miserable with no hope in sight. I will be going on the 7.5 with hopefully no side effects. Thank you Mounjaro and my doctor for giving me my life back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a 61-year-old female. I have been overweight for over 20 years and also dealing with other health issues. I started taking Mounjaro just a little over a year. I started with 5mg in the first week and lost 9lbs in one week, then I increased to 7mg and continued to lose weight. Long story short, I am now on 15mg and I have lost a total of 90lbs, from 339 to 247. This is unbelievable. I too have to make myself eat, like other reviews have stated. I feel so good. I have had 3 major back surgeries within the past 3 years. My A1C was never good, but now it's perfect. I used to walk hunched over, and now my posture is perfect. I want to lose 50lbs or more but I am happy with the state I'm in. However, I will be extremely happy to lose some more weight. I am a living testament that these injections work, just like the thousands of other reviews are saying. Where was this medication 20 years ago?"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am just starting week 5. I started on 5mg, so today was my first 7.5. Last month, I lost exactly 20 pounds. I started at 222 and now I'm at 202 after 1 month. I get bad constipation, but nothing Dulcolax liquid can't fix. I drink 2 protein shakes a day, a handful of chicken, and some days I replace chicken with fruits and low-fat cottage cheese. I drink lots of water and have 1 coffee with only milk once a week. I can't wait until this time next month. It's definitely a game changer. I haven't been that active, but today I will start going to the gym 5 days a week. I will update next month."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I saw this medication on TikTok and decided to try it. Started on 2.5 mg on 9/23/22 at 204 pounds. Had some chills and started feeling a little off, lightheaded, metallic taste in mouth, major loss of appetite, increased anxiety. Continued through the 2.5 mg then moved up to 5.0 mg. On my 4th injection of 5.0 mg, my life flipped upside down. This medication caused me some serious side effects, syncope, dehydration, electrolytes to be out of sync, chest pain, and one heck of a panic attack while at work, I had to be rushed to the ER. Very scary and thankful I was not driving when it happened. I've stopped the medication immediately. I want to feel normal again. Down to 190 pounds now, not worth the risk."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I take Mounjaro 2.5 once a week. Have taken 4 times. Nausea and lost appetite getting worse. Lost 10 lb. My glucose was 140 and up, and a few times 180 before Mounjaro. The last 3 days I had 83, 89, and 90. I test first thing in the morning before eating. I feel bloated, nauseated, tired, no energy, and no appetite."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Be careful when deciding to take this medication. I advise you to speak first with your doctor, and if you could find another way to lose weight, you should decide to go with something else. The side effects for some people are almost unbearable. I was 100% healthy before taking this. Now my blood sugar levels are low, I cannot wait for this to leave my system. It’s hard to work out, I feel awful. Ever since I stopped taking it, since my sugar levels are low, I have to eat more sugar, and it’s hard to eat. I feel nauseous, and it’s so hard to start the day feeling like this. Please beware, I know of people that are not even eating while taking this because they lost their appetite, and they have to blend their food because it won’t go down. The side effects at the beginning for many people are really awful. If you have to work and be productive, don’t take this medicine, you will regret it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I just wanted to give an update on my success on Mounjaro. I've been on it for 18 months. I continue to lose weight slowly. No problem with the shot. I've lost a total of 118 pounds. I went from a size 22 to a size 2. I do Weight Watchers app online for the accountability. And walk 5-8 miles a day. My doctor thinks I should be her spokesperson in her office for the new patients going on it to give them motivation. But can't with HIPAA. I'm okay with her giving them my name and everything, but she can't. It's funny when I'm out in public and people are not sure if it's me or not. But it sure makes me feel good. I just know when people do ask how I've lost weight, and I tell them. I say with diet, exercise, and I have diabetes. I also take Mounjaro, but it's not a miracle drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro on Sunday, the 24th of August 2025. It immediately brought my blood sugar down and did have a decreased appetite. 1st day, I was very, very tired and slept a lot. After that, I was tired but okay. The only problem I had was no bathroom for 6 days. Problem being resolved. It is a great medicine, but the cost is almost too high for me. I am 75 and on social security. Bonus: lost over 5 pounds."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "In 2023, I began taking Mounjaro and went from the 2.5 dosage to 10. I lost almost 40 pounds and then couldn't get it anymore! I put on 22 pounds in about 6 weeks! When Mounjaro became available again, I started again and lost that 22 pounds plus 50 more pounds for a total of 72 pounds. I have NEVER had a single side effect and have used EMMA for any constipation (but I've always had trouble with constipation anyway!). My goal was to get to 125 pounds and then gain back 5 pounds because all my life I've heard that it's a good thing to do to fill out your face. It may be just an old wives' tale, but I now weigh 127 and that's my plan. I guess I should tell my age so that older individuals who have suffered from the highs and lows of dieting and never being successful long-term will realize that we too can lose weight and keep it off. 84."
