For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro on September 1, 2022. My starting weight was 192 lbs, I'm 38 years old and 5'3". By February 2023, I weighed in at 135 lbs. I experience severe nausea, sour stomach, sulfur burps, and constipation on every dose I was on. I was only able to go to 5 mg, as 7.5 mg about done me in. I went back to the 5 mg. I've always been active, worked out, etc., but after a few life events, I struggled to lose 10 lbs! This was a game changer for me. It quieted the food noise, the cravings, etc. I was able to eat just a few bites of whatever meal and then done. I didn't want to eat! My nighttime snacking is gone. I didn't even like the smell of McDonald's french fries. Now, my mom tried it also, but she never had any of the horrible symptoms, and the food noise quieted a little bit. She got up to 7.5 mg but couldn't get anything in stock for the 10 mg. She didn't lose the significant weight that I did and has now switched to Ozempic due to stock issues."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It's easy to use, however, the side effects are horrible. I have had all of the listed side effects. Constipation, nausea, and vomiting are the worst. It feels like a rock in my gut, however, it's a little better than Ozempic, which I puked every day. So I'm sticking with the Mounjaro for now."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has been wonderful in reducing my blood sugar. However, the side effects feel like sometimes they are going to be the death of me. I experience nausea, constipation, and stomach pain. But if this is how it has to be to control my sugar, I can handle it. The only real trouble I am having is being able to get it through my pharmacy as it is often out of stock due to people using it for weight loss. I think diabetics should be given the first chance to receive this medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro worked well in the beginning. My BGL was lower, and I lost weight. After about 18 months, the control of my BGL was not as consistent. I experienced nausea and loss of appetite from the beginning, but that lessened over time. Recently, I have begun to experience severe diarrhea and belching for several days after taking a shot."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am losing weight, which is great, and my blood sugars are perfect now. I had no side effects until I went on the 7.5, and I have been nauseated most of the time. I am in my first week, so I hope it gets better."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Over the last 2 years, I gained 40 pounds, started with an illness, and kept going with bad dietary decisions. I always liked to work out, but this change in life was making it difficult. Glucose, A1C, triglycerides, and cholesterol all went from being considered low to being over the limit. I started taking Mounjaro 7 weeks ago along with major dietary changes. I went into this with the mindset of getting my life back. This medicine has allowed me to take back control. I’ve lost 20 pounds, gained 15% strength in the gym, and reduced my blood pressure by 20 points. For me, side effects have been mild. Slightly nauseous for a day. Nausea is worse if I overeat or eat heavy foods. Next month, I’ll see if the measurable have come down too. A1C was 5.8 previously. This medicine allows you to make the dietary decisions to improve your life."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro is good for weight loss as it makes you less hungry and increases your energy levels, but the downside is the side effects, which range from nausea, vomiting, and constipation. It is not a miracle drug, and it is started at a low level and gradually increases, but it's a great kickstart if it's combined with a healthy lifestyle."

For Type 2 Diabetes "In Mar 2024, I started Ozempic with a 6.9 A1C. I tried it until June, and it continually made me feel nauseated, so I stopped it after talking with my doctor. I had gotten to the 1 mg. He mentioned Mounjaro, and I told him I would let him know. In Sept, after research, I decided to try it. I started on the 2.5 mg on Sept 20, 2024. Immediately, I could tell it was lowering my appetite. Since I had the nausea with the other, I opted to keep it available. Here it is Jan 2025, and I am on the 10 mg, have been 6 weeks. I think my doctor wants to see what my A1C is when I see him in Feb. I am down total from where I was when I started the Ozempic at 210, and today I am 172. Not to my goal yet of 150, but I think I will get there. I do have to make myself eat, but as long as I keep feeling as good as I do, I am staying with it. I am an almost 64-year-old female. Best of luck to others thinking about trying it. Oh, just as another thing, my son-in-law, who is also T2D, started at 313 and is down 50 pounds."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This drug is very helpful for me with weight loss. After checking the side effects, I have quite a few. Constant constipation, nausea, pain, inflammation, as well as additional thyroid issues, to name a few. Now, I'm concerned about my choice in using this drug. For me, it's very easy to administer the medication."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 2 months now, and within the first month, 15 lbs literally just fell off. I didn't realize I was losing weight! I was on Trulicity, and since I have gastroparesis, I was suffering horrible nausea, so of course, I had to take another pill for nausea. Since being on the Mounjaro, I rarely take a nausea pill. I also have 200 units of Botox injected into my stomach for gastroparesis. It's always been just a great combination, and I'm starting to actually feel better little by little, day by day."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost 87 pounds in 9 months. I don't take blood pressure medication anymore and am not pre-diabetic any longer. I do have problems with constipation and some minor nausea the day after taking the injection. Overall, this medication has changed my life."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am currently taking Mounjaro for type 2 diabetes. I have had much better success controlling my ups and downs on my blood sugar (BS), and even when I had a few celebratory drinks the other day, I’ve had no low incidences of BS. My A1C was 6.6 when I started, and it has gone down steadily. I’m also impressed with my weight loss, which in 13 weeks has gone from 245 to 218, and I am 5’4.” My initial side effects were occasional nausea and constipation. I just started my 7.5 dose 5 days ago and have noticed a decrease in constipation-thankfully! I saw another review saying they had sulfur burps and that this was a medication too good to be true. I disagree. I’ve no doubt that person had a tough time, but it has worked wonderfully for me! This is why it’s important to take this with the guidance of your doctor-this may not be for everyone-but I’m extremely grateful for this medication."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Love this medication and have lost 10kg in 6 weeks with a good diet and exercise. However, the side effects can be pretty intense. 2.5mg - sulfur burps, lethargy, flatulence, weight loss, decreased appetite, nausea. 5mg - sulfur burps, flatulence, abdominal distension, nausea, weight loss, chills, fever, headaches."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on 09/13/22. I am 5'7" and 52 years old. My start weight was 300 pounds, now I am down to 210 pounds. When they say nausea, they mean it. The injection is weekly, so 5 out of 7 days I would have severe nausea. You really can't eat very much, and if you eat more than 3 or 4 bites, you will suffer badly. It will seize your stomach up, feel like you need to poo, so you try to do that, and then feel like you want to be sick. It is crazy to survive on 3 or 4 bites of food a day."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on my 4th week of Mounjaro. It is suppressing the food chatter in my brain really well. I am only eating when hungry. I do have increased constipation and am working through that. There is an achiness in my stomach that is not intolerable, just a nuisance. Intermittent nausea, no vomiting, no diarrhea. 2.5mg weekly. I lost 7 pounds starting the 3rd week."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have started with 2.5 mg dose once every week on 16th April 2024. They gave me 4 rounds of this dose. Then they started with 5 mg dose once every week. Initially, I was feeling nausea, diarrhea, sour burps, and dizziness, and gradually it decreased. When I started to take 5 mg, the same symptoms, apart from diarrhea. This time I had severe constipation on the 3rd day of the 5 mg dose, but I took some home remedy and laxative medicine. Still experiencing constipation. But the good thing is my appetite has reduced significantly, I am eating like a 5 to 10-year-old child. Feeling energetic, I lost around 6 kg in weight. Sugar level is under control, reduced Humalog dose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Have been on Mounjaro 4 months now. First month I lost 12 pounds, then 2nd & 3rd month only lost 3 pounds each month but because of shortage I was unable to go up in dose. 4th month (on 5 mg now) I have lost 5 pounds (this month) for a total of 23 pounds in 4 months!! I’m thrilled just to be going in the right direction. PLUS I have only had minor side effects. Some nausea first 2 weeks & again for that long once I went up in dosage but manageable. Also, remember to have enough fiber to avoid constipation which bothered me a little. I have several chronic pain illnesses that do not allow me to move around much so I was never able to lose weight in past years without exercise. This is the first time. I am so THRILLED. Hoping I can stay on it to lose 70 more pounds! At least I have hope now!! Will continue to try. Hope others find hope with this drug."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Although I have had a lot of nausea and vomiting, I have gone from 216 lbs to 168 lbs. I was given Zofran, which helped a lot! I have an appointment with my doctor this coming Tuesday because I have developed a lump on my throat. This has me very concerned. The shot was very easy to use."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started this shot about 2 months ago. My doctor prescribed the 2.5 first. I took it on Saturday morning, so I had the weekend to see how it made me feel. By Weds, I had flu-like symptoms for the day and missed work. The nausea lasted for the first few weeks, but I've completed my box of 5 mg, and I haven't had any nausea with it. However, I do have sulfur burps when I eat too much. And I have to force myself to drink water. But I rarely eat between meals, and I am down 20 pounds. I just picked up my new prescription of 7.5 and will take my first dose Saturday. I'm in my 50s, I am 5'3" and I started at 267 pounds. I have been on metformin for years. I've had severe diarrhea on metformin and would be in the bathroom multiple times a day with watery stool. I also ate everything in sight and snacked constantly. Now I have normal bowel movements. I also do not sweat profusely as I did on metformin. I have to say this shot has changed my life, and I am happy I am on it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 5'9", 64 years old, and female. I weighed in at a high normal body weight, but my A1C was nearly 13. My doctor tried Metformin with fast and long-acting insulin and also Januvia, and my blood sugars were horribly unstable, dropping to 45 in the middle of the night and waking up over six hundred. I also have fatty liver disease with stage four cirrhosis. I've been on Mounjaro for eight weeks and lost 24 pounds, which still leaves me at the higher end of normal body weight, but my A1C fell to 7 after a month. I am on the 5 mg but wish I had stayed at 2.5 for a while, as the side effects like bloating, indigestion, and diarrhea have started again, and I don't really need a lot of weight loss. The fact that it breaks down fat in the liver and controls my diabetes is the best thing. The worst thing is the waves of nausea, fatigue, and dizzy spells I get in the first few days after taking it, but it's still worth it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Excellent. 5 mg dose over three/four months brought down my blood sugar levels, and as a result, my weight moved into the ideal zone for my BMI. Initial 2.5 mg caused a little nausea until I got used to it, and then when increased, there were no further issues."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Very pleased. In 3 months, my A1C dropped from 8.2 to 7.1. Triglycerides dropped from 250 to 92. 8 lbs weight loss. From 162 lbs to 154 lbs. I have been highly insulin-resistant. Finally, something is working, and I'm only on a 5 mg dose. Side effects: Mild nausea, I no longer have metformin-induced diarrhea, nausea, and burping for a couple of days after the weekly injection. I hope I can ditch my long-acting insulin (52 u daily), metformin (2000 mg daily), and maybe the Jardiance (25 mg daily) and just do Mounjaro. It may be the only drug that really helps insulin resistance, triglycerides, and weight."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Using this medication for over a year now, and at first, I experienced nausea and an upset stomach until I found that using different parts of the body to inject into may help with that, and bam, nausea gone. I had constipation, which was resolved with 1000 mg of magnesium. In the beginning, at my max dose, I had little appetite and ate to keep from getting low blood sugars. I lost 15 lbs and gained 20 back, but I didn't originally take the medication for weight loss, it was to control my type 2, which it has, so I can’t complain about that. My A1C is better and my blood glucose most days are normal. Now I just have to lose the weight I put on to feel comfortable again, which when I discussed this with my provider, she confirmed some people lose weight and keep it off, others will hit a plateau and gain some back once they hit their max dose."
