"Have been on Mounjaro since July 15th for obesity. I am only down 8 pounds since then. However, I have no cravings, I do not binge eat, I do not overeat. You will learn quickly to listen to your body. If you overeat, you will regret it. Your stomach hurts and you get bad heartburn. I get really nauseated the first two days after my injections. I do not feel hungry for most of the day. I listen to my body when it is hungry and I eat. If I get nauseous, and I know I haven't eaten in a while, I go eat. I have heard about this app Methreesixty, and it shows your inches lost. This is a really helpful tool if you get discouraged, because you might not see it on the scale, but you will see it in inches with this app. I started on the 2.5 and then went up to 5, but I don't think it is doing much for me as I am really hungry the last two days before my next shot. My doctor has me skipping the 7.5 and going straight to the 10 mg. It really is helping me in other ways, I did not realize I needed the help."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Mounjaro since 9/11/22. Today is 3/4/23. I have lost close to 60 lbs and went from a pant size 46 down to 40. My wife says I “lost my tire” looking at me from behind. Started at 2.5 dose. Was dizzy and unsteady in the early days. Headache and nausea till my body acclimated. Switched my shot day to Friday night so if I’m not feeling great, it’s the weekend and not impacting work. Worked up to 5.0 then 7.5. Did each for 8 weeks instead of 4 to level off the side effects. Wanted to stay at that level, but no one can get it. Took my first 10.0 shot last night. So far so good. All my levels are great. Sulfur burps if I overeat. Am also doing Herbalife shakes 2 times a day and having a sensible dinner. I still snack after dinner, but nothing crazy. Exercise 5/6 times per week. I think 7.5 should be my maintenance dose, but again, no one can get it. Will trade the mild side effects for being able to fit into my clothes."

"My doctor prescribed Mounjaro after seeing my weight increase. First, I am a bariatric weight loss patient - 6 years out. I lost 80 lbs after my surgery and gained 30 back since. So yes, there is reason to be concerned. The month supply of 2.5 mg dose produced a 5 lb weight loss, and my appetite was suppressed somewhat. But more noticeable is the craving loss. They completely went away. I'm anxious to see how the 5 mg dose works. Some annoying side effects, but nothing drastic so far. Light nausea and diarrhea (subsides somewhat following the first few days after dosage). It took me a bit of time to get it together and start making healthy choices. I was in a very stressful work environment and chose to retire a little earlier than planned. Now, I work part-time from home now so I can take care of myself better. That's just me... I get overwhelmed and spiral. But even seeing this small amount of weight loss from the 2.5 dose has given me lots of hope and motivation!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 7 weeks ago. The first shot made me so nauseous and have such bad abdominal pain that lasted for 12 hours. I almost went to the ER. I told my doctor about my experience, and she gave me Zofran and told me to continue dieting. Fast forward to this weekend - took my shot on Friday morning, then spent all day Saturday and Sunday projectile vomiting (it literally ended up about 7 feet from where I was standing), uncontrollable diarrhea, disgusting sulfur burps, horrible heartburn, and dizziness. Finally, I decided to go to the ER and got treated for dehydration. They told me to follow up with my primary doctor to talk about the best way to continue the medication. After this experience, I am NEVER taking this drug again. While I've lost 25 lbs in the past 7 weeks, I believe it's mostly because I've been afraid to eat anything. I will continue to eat healthy and cut carbs and sugars, but I won't be taking Mounjaro again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "As of today, 9/5/2022, I have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks. I have experienced upset stomach, nausea, weakness, and tiredness. I am on 2.5 mg. Hoping symptoms start to disappear. I am a Type 2 diabetic, and the pills didn't seem to help. I am in my 60s, so was wondering if that mattered. I'm not sure. I would like to continue the Mounjaro, but if side effects persist, I may have to try other options."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been a yo-yo dieter for as long as I can remember. This is by far the best thing I've tried. I lost 11 lbs in the first week, this really does work to decrease your appetite! My diet doctor gives me injections and told me to follow what is essentially a keto diet (no carbs or sugar - 8 oz of protein and as many veggies as you want), in conjunction with intermittent fasting (16 hours fasting, 8 hours allowed to eat). There is NO WAY I'd make it through 16 hours of not eating without this! I feel very slight nausea sometimes after I eat, but not enough to affect my day-to-day activities. This is a game changer if you have struggled to lose weight as I have!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "You do lose weight, but the waves of nausea, vomiting, severe constipation, and hypoglycemia are so unpleasant, and if you escalate and find it too much - it lasts for a whole week. Consider liraglutide daily, much easier to titrate, and if you escalate and find it too much, you can lower down and only have one day of downtime."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have slowly lost weight. I have taken it for 8 weeks and have lost 18 lbs on the 2.5 mg dose. It makes me very nauseous and causes GI upset. But overall, I think slow weight loss is probably best anyway for long term."

For Type 2 Diabetes "It’s been 2 years. Yes, there were challenges. Some nausea. Lot’s of constipation. Some fatigue. And mostly good aversion. I understand fully the phrase eat to live. This medication was/is a game changer for long-time diabetes sufferers. I lost 50 pounds. Got off of insulin shots. Cholesterol meds. BP meds. I am over 60 years old and feel better than I did at 40. I would rate my experience on Mounjaro on a scale from 1-10, a solid 10. Everyone’s journey is unique, based on many different factors. I would rate my journey as successful."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m a 58-year-old woman. When I started Mounjaro, I was at 172 lbs. I am taking 5 mg. On the first injection of 5 mg, I had hives, but the next day, with allergy medication, it went away. I had a little bit of nausea off and on every time I took an injection. The worst part about this medicine is I feel cold all the time and fatigued. The fatigue goes away after a couple of days. I just took my 4th injection of 5 mg and will move up to 7.5 mg next week. So far, all good. I did notice I got pretty hungry 2 days before it was time to take my 4th 5 mg injection, which to me said it lost its effectiveness. I did struggle with those 2 days trying not to go back to old habits. I have lost 20 lbs since starting Mounjaro, and all of my blood work is much, much better. My A1C is down 2 points!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Horrible experience taking this drug. I do not recommend taking this medication unless you want to die. I started taking 2.5 mg 6 days ago. Day 2 and 3 had no appetite and ate very little because the thought of food made me sick. Day 4 and 5 developed nausea, severe abdominal pain, and indigestion unrelieved by antacids. I also have lost five lbs because I am unable to eat or drink anything. I do not have any energy or feel like doing anything. Day 6 and I still feel sick. My fasting blood sugar this morning was 224 even though I am not eating or drinking hardly anything at all. It is noon, and I haven’t eaten anything because I’m afraid I will throw up. My heart rate is 120 and normally runs in the eighties. My doctor is out of the office this week for holidays. Just hoping and praying I don’t wind up in the emergency room. I will never inject this toxic stuff into my body again. I also read that it can cause thyroid cancer."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I just took my fourth injection, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’ve lost 10 pounds in three weeks, my appetite is controlled, I feel like I’ve finally got some hope to get my health where it needs to be. My morning fasting glucose is close to 100 (always near 140), no more crazy spikes hitting 200-300. I do get very tired the day of each shot. The first three days or so of my first injection, I was so ill (sick stomach). I got some Zofran, and that helped tremendously, so I’ll expect to need that with each dose increase. Looking very forward to 5 mg next week :) Ins won’t pay for it yet, even though I’m type 2, but I’ve got a coupon for it and paid $25 a month. Thank God, or I couldn’t get it, hopefully soon it will be covered."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking 2.5 ml for 4 weeks and had few side effects apart from zero appetite, a little nausea, and a migraine (think the migraine was due to not eating). Now, week 5, increased to 5 ml and a different story: quite a lot of nausea, diarrhea, headache, and tiredness. Also again, total lack of appetite. Fortunately, these side effects more or less calmed down 2 or 3 days after taking the dose. I’m hoping it’s a temporary thing when you take a new dose - I can live with that."

For Type 2 Diabetes "In November 2022, my ACI was 7.4%, and I weighed 258 pounds at 67 years old. The wake-up call was when I renewed my life insurance, a big jump in premium due to the AC1 and weight. I was now tagged as a Type 2 Diabetic. I was referred to an endocrinologist who did extensive blood work. It was agreed to go on Mounjaro 2.5 mg. The first week I suffered some side effects such as nausea, constipation, and acid burps. Within 10 days, the symptoms subsided due to stool softeners, lots of fruit (berries), and Nexium. The first month I dropped 10 pounds with no dieting, just was not hungry at all. I had no cravings, especially for sweets like cookies, donuts, and candy-all things that I used to eat. Fast forward to March 2023, I am down to 217 pounds and 20 more to go. I am now on Mounjaro 10 mg, it's a bit strong, but the results are fantastic. My AC1 is now 5.6%, which is fantastic. The bad news is nothing fits- all new suits for the spring."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic 2 mg since it came out. When I couldn't get it due to shortage, I was prescribed Mounjaro 5 mg. Five days after eating my one meal a day, I intermittent fast, and I started vomiting. I spent the whole night throwing up every half hour. I figured it was a side effect and hoped I would improve. I had stomach and back pain, weakness, and was unable to eat. I was in bed until I had to get up and sit due to pain, sleeping off and on. I could only drink water. I got worse and finally, five days later, had my husband drive me to the ER. I know I should have gone sooner. I didn't take a second shot. I had a CAT scan and was told I had a bowel obstruction, and I would be admitted and there for a few days. If they couldn't resolve it through a tube down my nose, I would have surgery. Luckily, it was resolved by the nasal tube, but it was awful. My medical care pharmacist told me to try Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I was worried but did it. I didn't get nausea, but I had all these other side effects. I quit taking it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Mounjaro last May 2024, weighing 303 lbs. By December 2024, I lost down to 190 lbs. with my A1C at 6, and my glucose is 100, down from 286 in May 2024! Mounjaro is wonderful for me! I had nausea at first, but dosage of 15, no nausea whatsoever. I’ve had to buy all new clothes, and I love it!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Mounjaro for 7 weeks. The first 4 weeks the dosage was 2.5, and the last 3 weeks it was 5. I love Mounjaro! It takes away my food obsessions and sugar cravings. It lets me focus on life rather than on food. I did get a few minor incidents of diarrhea and an occasional minor feeling of nausea, but they were nothing serious. Mounjaro has helped me lose 15 pounds in 7 weeks and brought my blood sugar from 220 to 120. I wish it were cheaper, but it has been worth it for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Mounjaro in November 2024 and did not have any side effects, only when I was increased to 5 mg, and the nausea was bad, and I was sick a few times when I ate anything with a high/medium fat content. But I managed to get anti-sickness tablets from my GP, and I have lost 3.5 stone since starting this. I was 17 stone, and I can now go up 3 flights of stairs and not stop for breath, as before, I had to stop on the first flight. I have started to drink more water, as before I hated it. I was a fizzy drink person. I have also added more supplements to my daily intake, as before I never took supplements. The only issue I have now is sulfur burps and still nausea with the occasional trapped wind."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro 8 weeks ago. I’m 69 years old with T2D and weighing 234 lbs. I now weigh 214. I start on 7.5 this weekend. I have had light nausea and light constipation, and the lovely burps, but other than that, all is good. I eat better, no hunger 24/7, and I feel so much better. No more metformin. Yay!!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started medication in early March. One dose weekly for 6 weeks, till I quit. Severe nausea that would last for 5 days after each shot. It does eliminate your desire to eat, but I gained 11 pounds during the 6-week period. Also, I now have an irregular heartbeat and shortness of breath from this. I've been off the medication since mid-April. It is now 6/9/23, and I am still having problems, and upcoming heart tests scheduled."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on 2.5 mg in December and have titrated up every 4 weeks to 12.5 mg currently. So far I have been losing 2-3 lbs a week and have lost 34 lb, and up until now I haven't really noted any serious side effects other than occasional constipation and slight nausea if I don't eat something small every few hours, or if I eat something really fatty. The last two titrations I have noticed some extreme fatigue and being cold on the first day after my shot, but then it usually starts to go away on the 2nd day and I feel better. I have also noticed that if I try to push through the tiredness and try exercising, I usually feel better. I have tried to stick to a 1200-1500 calorie diet and do eat a lot more fruits and veggies, and I feel better than I have in a long time. Overall, it’s been a good experience and I’m super excited to see how much more weight I can lose."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "When I first started taking Mounjaro, I would get very nauseated, even throw up sometimes. Then my body got used to it, and I actually lost around 25 lbs. I asked my Dr if we could up the dosage because I stopped losing weight. I went up to Mounjaro 5.0. After my first shot, I was fine, just nauseated. After my second shot of 5.0, I broke out in hives all over my body. I continued taking my shot, and on the third week, the hives got worse. I was miserable, itching with large red spots all over. The Dr then lowered my dose back to 1.5, and finally, the hives went away, but I am not losing any more weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have used Ozempic, Saxenda, and Wegovy and changed due to shortages, nausea, or not getting results. Been on Mounjaro for 1 month at 2.5. I have lost 2.8 kilos. No nausea and no desire to eat or pig out. My IBS/bloating has significantly reduced too. However, I eat small, healthy meals of protein, salads, and some fruit. I am very conscious of eating nutritious food and drinking lots of water. Mounjaro is expensive (in Australia), but it so far is the best product for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed the 2.5 dosage as a trial by my endocrinologist for pre-diabetic and weight loss on 9/15/22. I felt fine the first day, shot was given in the morning, but the next day I actually forgot to eat lunch. That is not normal for me. I wasn’t hungry. The third and fourth day I had horrible sulfur burps, nausea, fatigue. On the fourth day, I took two naps, which is not normal for me. I thought my symptoms were getting worse, but then the fifth and sixth day I felt great. I am fearful to take the next injection this week as I don’t want a repeat of the less than desirable side effects. It really wrecked my weekend. On the upside, I lost a couple of pounds the first week. That’s exciting, but at what cost?"
