"I started taking Mounjaro 2.5 mg in March of this year (2024). Every month, my doctor increased my dose to the next level. I was put on the medication to help with my A1C because it would go up and down but not at a normal number. After 3 months, it went from a 7 to 4.5. I was so happy with the result. I am currently on 15 mg and I am down 50 lbs (over 6 months) and A1C is staying at 4.5. My original goal was 30 lbs by September and 60 by next March. I am so excited that I am already close to my year weight goal loss. The only side effects that I have had were the sulfur burps, which I figured out how to control and prevent and stop. And occasional constipation, which I just increased fiber intake to help. Everyone's experience is different. I went into taking it and researching all the side effects and being careful. I am thankful to my doctor for helping me, and I am happy with the results so far."

"I'm only on my second week, but I've lost 7 pounds so far. It forces me to eat because if I don't, I feel sick, but when I eat, I get full super fast. So it's like it's forcing me to do good and not starve myself. I really like that. The first week I had slight nausea here and there and a couple of headaches. Also, a little indigestion. I do feel pretty tired. I've been eating a low-carb diet. I'm going to incorporate exercise at the end of this week. I can only imagine how much I have the potential to lose once I start exercising if I've lost 7 just by eating better. Overall, I am satisfied with this drug. I'm on the low dose right now."

"3.5 months from 2.5 mg to 5.0 mg. Even before starting 7.5 mg, my experience has been positive. Less stressful, as if my cortisol levels are low. No desire to drink alcoholic beverages. Appetite suppressed, loss of inches before any noticeable weight loss. Slow loss of excess weight. PCOS symptoms have mostly disappeared, however, when refills were not available, all symptoms almost immediately presented again, including desire to snack. Constipation is noticeable at 5.0 mg. Starting 7.5 mg now. 22 lb of excess weight lost after 3.5 months of use."

"My doctor put me on Mounjaro for potential type 2 diabetes. Just after one month of taking it, I have been living through the 3rd week of taking 2.5g. For the past 2 weeks, dizziness, severe shaking and trembling, my throat swelling so much that I am having trouble swallowing and having a sip of water. I have stopped taking it and cannot wait for this mess to get out of my system and be normal again. I did not have any of these issues prior. I did lose 12 lbs, but it's definitely not worth choking."

"Tracked daily side effects weekly for several weeks. Had the injection on Sunday. The cycle was repeated each week. If taken in the morning, I was unable to sleep that night. Changed to 2 hours before bed and slept, but woke up feeling exhausted. Developed headache/migraine and mind fog by mid-morning, with neck pain and stiffness. Fatigue, neck pain, mind fog, and migraine came in waves and lasted until late Wednesday. I began to feel better by Thursday and back to 'normal' by Friday. Only small impact on blood sugar numbers. Frequently hungry and craved carbs. No weight loss."

"It has worked well for my blood sugars. My last A1C was 6.2. It has had no effect on my appetite, and I'm not losing weight. I've had no side effects. It's really easy to use. I take 15 mg, which may be the highest dose. It is expensive."

"I’m struggling to get below 154 lbs, and being 5’, that’s a lot of weight to carry, which induces back pain. Lost 20 lbs on Ozempic from the beginning of the year till June, have managed to gain back 5 lbs, which isn’t awful but still not at my goal weight. I just left the ER from getting a bolus of saline due to dehydration. I’m battling hypoglycemia. I took my first shot on Tuesday. Wednesday felt decent, but malaise was setting in. Thursday, I didn’t even realize I had not eaten all day and all night at work. Friday night, I tried to eat half of a sandwich and was completely nauseous. Tonight at work, after eating half a sandwich and a few green beans, I had terrible diarrhea and became so dizzy and nauseated I was forced to leave work, having someone else take over my patients. Just a word of advice: if you’re a busy person, this med may not be for you. I had side effects of fever, chills, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, and muscle pain, and I was negative for flu, COVID, and strep. The doctor said to go back to Ozempic :( but I’ve lost 6 lbs already!"

"Mounjaro works! My blood sugar was off the charts. The first week I started taking Mounjaro, my blood sugar was within normal limits. I don’t remember the last time it was normal. Very little side effects the first week. No side effects second week to date. Taking my 8th dose tonight. And lost 7 pounds."

"My question is if a medication such as Mounjaro helps and works and allows a patient to live an almost normal life but cannot afford to pay for it, how come Eli Lilly is so adamant about helping a senior on Medicare to pay for this medication. How about offering a reasonable discount so that I can continue buying it so I do not face hypo no hyperglycemia? Is my health not worth it vs. the CEO and the rest of the top management to get their big bonuses? Really! Patients need help, please. Medicare patients are not allowed to use savings cards, only commercial medical insurance. Please think about this issue and help us to live a better and decent life. I am not obese, nor do I need it for weight loss. I need it to maintain my health. Thank you in advance should you find it in your heart to help me with my costs. I was diagnosed with CKD, and after I started using Mounjaro, my kidneys numbers went up significantly so did my diabetes being more manageable. Thank you again."

"This has been a miracle drug for me. I am a type 2 diabetic for over 20 years. I have diabetic neuropathy, so I struggle being on my feet. I was taking 100 units of insulin a day. I am 65, 5'11" and 219 lbs when I started taking Mounjaro. I started at 2.5 mg, I had zero side effects and no desire to eat. I went up to 5 mg, and I was severely nauseous for 3 days. The side effects went away and never came back. I am on 12.5 mg. I have been on Mounjaro for 5 months. I am 180 lbs, my A1C is 5.8. It has never been below 7 in 25 years. My cholesterol is perfect: 70 good, 70 bad. I take about 5 to 10 units of insulin daily. You cannot eat fatty foods, it makes you only reach for healthy foods. A couple of bites, and you’re full. I put zero effort to lose weight. I lost 39 lbs without trying. It was never about losing weight for me, it was being healthy. I now have normal blood pressure. This drug is a miracle for me."

"I am just getting back on after having to quit for hip joint replacement surgery. I am up to 7 mg now. My daily glucose level is going down. I’ve had some weight loss. But the side effects are discouraging. Excessive gas, burping, bloating, diarrhea, and fluttering inside my chest. These symptoms last 2 or 3 days after injection. I am going to continue injections in the hope the side effects get better."

"In the beginning, I didn't even feel different, and then I stepped on the scale and was down 15 lbs after week 3. I noticed my clothes were getting bigger and bigger, and now I am down 80 lbs and on a 7.5 dose. I have had a lifelong journey with uncontrollable appetite issues, and this medication greatly curbs them. It did not happen overnight though, so be patient. If you eat a lot of cruciferous veggies, you are going to be extremely gassy. If you eat too much or eat things that are hard to digest, it is going to be harder to tolerate this medication. I have not been under 200 lbs in 20+ years, so this has been a blessing. My blood sugars are in check, and I have more energy. It is at times difficult to navigate what to eat that will not upset your stomach. Just watch what you eat and figure out what feels good to your tummy. Your body will do better with it if you do eat some proteins every now and then instead of a lot of carbs."

"Rx for weight loss, extreme fatigue for the first 3 days after injection (I stayed in bed). I thought it was good for controlling binge eating. However, I eventually started to get so dizzy after standing up that I had to hold the counters and walls to get around for the first few minutes after standing. I also started to notice a thickness or knot in my throat after the first 2 months. I had to stop taking it because no amount of weight loss is worse than being a cancer patient or bedbound. The weight loss was extremely slow for me too. I went from being on no meds to relying daily on heartburn medicine, Miralax, Tylenol, and ginger chews for nausea. And the price was ridiculous. I would have rather bought some cosmetic surgery. I was on it 5 months: 2.5, then 0.5, finally 7.5 mg."

"Mounjaro has been a miracle to me. I've tried everything in my life to lose weight. Weight Watchers was the most successful, but after a severe car accident with severe injuries, I was put on steroids for 8 months and gained 50 lbs, and couldn't get it off. Sure, I would starve myself and lose 20 lbs, but only to put it back on after eating normally. Then I found out I was type 2 diabetic. I weighed over 200 lbs. I've been on Mounjaro for about 9 months now and weigh 169. My goal is to lose the 50 lbs I gained. Mounjaro has literally been a miracle drug for me. I feel great. I have slowed down on weight loss, and it's kind of depressing, but I will continue to work past the plateau I'm on. I will lose the weight no matter what I have to do. I haven't felt this great in 15 years. God bless each and every one on this program. I hope and pray you all are successful. I could write a book, but I think this is all I can write."

"Mounjaro has helped me bring down my A1C. I'm only on a relatively low dose, but I am experiencing troubling side effects: stomach pain, indigestion, nausea, fatigue. I have the side effects mostly a day or two after the injection. I noticed a slight weight loss at first, but I think I gained the weight back somehow."

"Like many people, you are nervous about trying something new. I have had Type 2 Diabetes for 25 years. Nothing wrong with taking something that can help you out. This drug trains you to eat the right food. You need to remember, for us, too much sugar is our enemy. Don't think this is a miracle drug, I can eat anything. Do your part, try to eat healthy, this has helped me big time. My sugar was 180 to 190. Now it's at 95-110, the food noise and cravings are way down. The first 2 weeks you feel nasty until your body adjusts to it. But after that, you will feel better. I'm happy I started using it. A shot that can help you live a better quality of life or not doing anything about it and letting Type 2 Diabetes take your life slowly, you pick? Talk to your doctor about it."

"If anything, I would call Mounjaro a wonder drug. In Jan 2023, I weighed just over 300 pounds and my A1C was hovering around 7 with Ozempic and Metformin. My Dr. prescribed Mounjaro and within a few weeks, I started seeing a marked change. Now, 9 months later, I have lost 108 pounds and my last A1C was 5.0. I have had no noticeable side effects and it couldn't be easier to use. The only problem has been getting it. More than once, I've had to wait a few days for it to come back in stock at the pharmacy. I'm sleeping better, have more energy and overall, feeling healthier. My Dr. has even reduced the dosages on several of my other medications and may be able to take me off some of them soon."

"I started the medication in November of last year. I started with 5 mg and incrementally increased the dosage up to 15 mg. The small hypodermic needle made it easy to inject. At 10 mg, I reached a plateau with the weight loss. I eventually went up to 15 mg and stayed on that dose for 2 months. The primary reason for taking it was for type 2 diabetes, and I benefited from weight loss as I was also overweight. As of today, I have lost 35 lbs but stopped the Mounjaro about a month ago. My appetite seemed to slowly get back to normal, which is not a good thing. I also did intermittent fasting, so that helped a lot with the cravings, etc. I also get some bouts of constipation, but my diet made up for that. My urine smelled different. I pray there were no effects on my kidneys. My blood sugars are normal. My A1C is 5.2, so I chose to stop the medication and continue the weight loss journey naturally."

"I took my third dose Saturday. It's really too soon to say, but I am noticing changes in my appetite and I haven't had my labs drawn yet, but I know that this inj. med is going to help me. I don't crave snacks when I see them, it doesn't affect me like it has in the past, which is magical for me. I'm a stress eater. So far, so good, no side effects. I do advise you to drink lots of water to avoid constipation. I will start a higher dosage in two weeks."

"56-year-old male here, 5'10". Started Mounjaro on 10/28/23, weighing 291 pounds. Started at 2.5mg for 4 weeks, will be on 5.0mg for another 5 weeks before upping to 7.5mg. The only real side effect has been constipation. I just had my yearly physical yesterday. Lost 40 pounds in 6.5 weeks. Blood work came back amazing. A1C was finally under 7.0. Discontinuing metformin, reducing Lipitor. Mounjaro is life-saving."

"I was put on Mounjaro 4 weeks ago (for type 2 diabetes), and the 3rd week, the once-a-week injection pen didn't work. The internal mechanics seized up, and I didn't get any medicine. I called Mounjaro support and spoke with Belinda and went through a series of questions and gave her my pharmacy information, was on hold and also speaking with Belinda for over one hour and 15 minutes. It is 3 days later, and my pharmacy still did not receive a call for a replacement from Belinda. This is a horrible product and even worse customer service."

"The first week I didn't see much. The second week, blood sugar was a little better. I didn't take it the second or third due to acute leg and feet swelling, which has never been a problem. Took many tests for artery blockage, every test my doctor could come up with. The swelling left as quick as it appeared. I got started back on Mounjaro, it started working with remarkable performance, with blood sugar at around 6.7 from the high 11s, but having a very upset stomach. Following week, very sick at stomach, headaches, I felt a lot worse. I may have caught a flu that has been going around. I normally do not have the flu. I don't know if it was the Mounjaro or flu, the symptoms were the same and did not have a fever. I am due to take the Mounjaro injection tomorrow. Haven't decided what to do yet."

"I lost over 40 lbs and leveled off at an ideal weight. Best of all, my A1c dropped to a non-diabetic level. My ophthalmologist has said there is now no sign of diabetes in my eyes. I have been able to reduce the meds I was taking. I am much more active because I weigh so much less and feel better. I followed the advice in the enclosure for the drug and ate small meals several times a day rather than large meals. I have not had trouble with side effects. I hope that the cost is reduced so that more people can afford it. Its biggest downside is the expense."

"60-year-old female non-smoker. I started taking Mounjaro a year ago for diabetes. Started at 199 and currently 167. This year, labs were absolutely amazing. My lipids and cholesterol were literally cut in half. For the first time in 15 years, my labs were almost normal readings across the board. My A1C was at almost 7, now down to 5. I am finishing 11.5 and 12.5 in two weeks. Not going to lie, still get the munchies but eat healthy portions to satisfy my cravings. My new life is better than ever. Can’t wait to see what life adventures are coming my way!!"

"The meds did exactly what I expected. Lowered A1C, and I lost weight. The bad part is I was so sick on days 3-5 that it was awful. I couldn’t do my usual activities. No swimming for fear of losing control of bowels, and severe nausea. It worked great, but the side effects were extremely uncomfortable, I lost sleep from GERD. Disappointing for me."
