For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was scared to use this product because of all the bad reviews. However, I showered and then inserted the medicine. I did seem to experience itching that was a tad bit worse than before, but it quickly went away. I had minimal burning, it actually just felt like it was getting warm. I felt relief within hours from the itching. It did remain a little sore for a day or two, but nothing I couldn’t handle."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had yeast infections in the past, and just recently, I noticed I had some itching and dryness with whitish discharge. I decided not to wait until the problem got worse, so I went to the store and bought a Monistat 1. It was the one with the pre-filled applicator. Took it last night at around 10. Throughout the night, I could feel that my downstairs was very tender and I couldn't figure out why. At first, I thought it was just the medicine working its magic. WELL, I wake up this morning and grab a mirror out of curiosity, and I am completely swollen! The lips and inside are swollen, and it's all very tender! I'm panicking and have no idea what to do in order to reduce the swelling! If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I inserted the little egg about 12 hours ago, and all I felt was a slightly uncomfortable warm/burn sensation. I was even able to go out shopping and get coffee with some friends. The burning started about 3-4 hours after insertion and then lasted about 2 hours. I can now happily say that after only 12 hours, a lot of my YI symptoms have calmed down and the area is just sort of tender to the touch now from the medication. Just make sure you wear a pad! But like I said, the burning was nothing like this hellfire that some of you are describing. I am so sorry to all of you that experienced such horrible side effects. For those of you who were like me and read the reviews after already using the product, just know that there is hope!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oh my, let me just say if you want to feel like you are wearing a jalapeño pepper as a tampon, then this product is for you. This was by far the worst product out there for yeast infections. I had to run to the shower, use the shower head, and put cold water on my vagina just to cool it off. The next day, she was sore and felt no more burning sensation, but boy, was that horrible the day before. Next time, I am doing a 7-day. Not worth the burn."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I never thought to search for reviews before using a medication, but I will from now on. I used this medication for the first time last night, and by morning, my vulva and clitoris were swollen and extremely tender and painful. It hurts to walk, even, and burns when I urinate. It seems as though this is a fairly common reaction, judging by the reviews--makes me wonder why this is on the market?"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Honestly, all the negative reviews are spot on. The side effects of the Monistat were worse than my actual symptoms. I don't experience any burning like many people, but my vagina itched 1000x more after I took the day one pill, and my vagina was beyond sore. It's so uncomfortable. I didn't even have that much discharge before I took this medication. Needless to say, I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. I would suggest going to your doctor or taking the AZO capsules. This honestly is the worst."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the product before bed, and by morning, everything hurt 'down there.' I felt like my vagina had gone through a blender. Not so much burning, but just sore. Even sitting down at work was painful. It's been 15 hours, and the pain is about half of what it was, and the itching is gone! I can take the pain for relief from the darn itching that fast! Sooooo grateful it's almost gone!!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Oookay, they definitely changed this product because the first time I got this, it worked fine! My second time using it, I feel like the gates of hell moved into my poor va-jay-jay. I got a yeast infection from a 7-mile obstacle course that I ran. My underwear was caked in mud, swamp water, and sweat, which I wore for about 3 hours throughout the event. Bad decision. But taking this is an even worse decision! I'm so raw, tender, swollen, irritated, and itchy down there. It hurts so bad from how raw and sore it is. I have to change my panty liner every hour because there's so much white discharge. I freaked out and called my doctor, who said it's the medicine working and flushing my system out. Ughhh, I really wish I would've taken a pill."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I purchased Monistat 1 because it's Christmas Eve and every OBGYN around is closed until Monday, and if you've had a yeast infection before, you definitely wouldn't want to wait until the holidays are over to get to a doctor. Around 7 a.m., I inserted the ovule and then decided to read reviews. Big mistake. Within 10 minutes, I was on fire. My symptoms weren't even that bad before I used Monistat, but it multiplied my pain by 100! It distracted me from the YI pain and just set me on fire for hours. It's now 7 p.m. and it has not stopped yet, and everything below is just so numb and sore. The burning is terrible. I ended up rushing to urgent care an hour ago and getting something prescribed for the YI. I would not recommend this to anyone!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was honestly so worried that I had Trichomoniasis until I read the difference between the vaginal discharge. I was so relieved to find out that it's a yeast infection (self-diagnosed, don't judge). I just started my Vagistat-3, day one, about an hour ago, and honestly, I don't feel as bad of burning as I did. There's still some itch, but for the most part, I can feel it starting to soothe my poor girl. Due to itching, it was so swollen and sore. Now the swelling has definitely gone down some. THANK YOU, VAGISTAT! (update tomorrow)"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had the misfortune of getting a yeast infection between paychecks and spent nearly a week in itchy agony. It seriously felt like Chernobyl had gone off down there. As soon as I got paid, I ran to the store and purchased the one treatment prefilled application (in cream, not the 'pill' ovule-I suspect the concentrated pill ovule will burn like something unholy); they also had the 3 and 7 day applications, but I'm impatient and I'll take a quick and painful fix over a slow and comfortable one. I put it in and began hopping around as the cream burned/stung like nobody's business, but more importantly, instant itch relief! Half an hour later, the burn wasn't as prominent. A few hours later, and there's a barely noticeable soreness, but no more itch."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Should've read the comments first. They had it at the local grocery store. Should've gone out of my way and gone to the pharmacy. So much itching after I put the stuff in. Then when I woke up, the outside of my vagina was swollen and very tender. Don't buy this. Monistat works way better."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought Monistat 1. So I made the mistake of not looking up reviews before I bought the product. I used it, and about 10 minutes later, I looked up reviews and found that it makes 90% of the women who have used it have had burning, soreness, and itching 10 times worse than before using the product. Apparently, it's not the infection, it's your body reacting to the strong dosage of medicine. Needless to say, I went and tried to get this product out of me. It already dissolved from this pill form to cream, so it was definitely harder to get out. I'm scared I'm going to wake up like these women tomorrow with burning, itchy hell."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I inserted the maximum strength Monistat 1 last night, say 9:30. Slept fine. Had minor burning after my morning urination, but it went away 10-20 mins later. I was already swollen before using and aching, not much burning or itching. It's going on 6 am, and it seems to be doing what it is supposed to for me. And if you use the wet wipes to kind of keep the discharge/medication leakage wiped up as much as possible from the outside of your vag, it’d help. I think letting it pool and sit is what may be causing a lot of the irritation. There was a good bit of wet wipes in my kit along with some cream for the outside area."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After a weird recurring yeast infection, I decided to finally pick up this treatment. Wished I had read the reviews before using, but alas. After inserting the medication before bed, I ended up waking up about 4 hours later to intense tingling and VERY sore vulva and vagina. I was finally able to go to sleep, and when I woke up in the morning, the soreness almost totally disappeared, but my vulva and vagina are really swollen. I panicked at first, but after reading the reviews, it seems to be a common occurrence. On the bright side, it already seems to be working for the yeast infection! I'll probably take some OTC anti-inflammatory to help with the swelling. But despite all that, I am actually quite pleased with the product."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Went to Walmart looking for Monistat 1, but they were out, so I bought Tioconazole 1. I showered, did my regular cleaning routine, laid down, inserted it, and rubbed what was left on the outside. I immediately felt relief, the itching stopped right away, and the soreness went away. I feel great and haven’t experienced any swelling. Will most definitely recommend and purchase again if needed."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "At first, it feels like it's not working and you feel like you have no hope, but I promise it works well, at least it did for me. Personally, I didn’t really feel the progress until nighttime, and then you can really tell it’s working, and I’m on night 2 and I feel a drastic change in itching and burning. The cream also helped a lot with healing soreness and irritation!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Coming to the end of my period and have been suffering with a YI the entire time. I always have used Monistat 3-day treatment, but wanted to try the 1-day because of convenience, and obviously I want quick relief since I have been suffering for 4 days. I'm glad I came here before purchasing my 1-day, because the reviews are horrible for the OVULE! Opted for the CREAM-filled applicator, because I am hard-headed and was determined to get rid of this YI ASAP. NO PROBLEMS at all. Put it in at 3 after work, went and ran some errands. It is now 6 hours later, and my itching and discomfort are completely gone. I'm a little tender, but the cream is heaven-sent, I tell you. BTW I just learned you can use all Monistat products on your period!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I bought Monistat 1 when my yeast infection started getting pretty bad, around day 3. I was swollen, and I couldn't even sit comfortably because of the pain I was in. After I had already inserted the medicine, a lot on here said how horrible the product was and how painful it was. Well, I realized all I was having was mild burning, nothing too extreme, and I went about my day. By night, I was pretty sore down there, but I had no itch anymore, so I felt good enough to go to bed. Now this morning, I feel back to normal, thank goodness. Still having discharge from the medicine coming out, but other than that, I feel good, and I would definitely use this product again in the future."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This product burns like nothing else, just like everyone else is saying! When I applied it, I felt the burn within an hour after I went to the bathroom. I started crying, had to call in late to work, took a bath, and applied Vagisil. That calmed things down for 2 hours, but after I peed again, the burning started again. I ended the night with a bag of ice between my legs, and that helped me get some sleep. Now it’s the next morning, and I feel MUCH better. Now I’m sore, but no burning. I’ll take that over the burning! I think by tomorrow I should be feeling back to normal. I would never try this product. I’d rather just wait and take the pill. Lesson learned."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Never had a YI before, and I want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. Especially since now I’m not feeling clean with it. I inserted the Monistat 1 “egg” between 4-5 hours ago. I do have some soreness, but I had it before taking the Monistat, and the slightest burning that only happens if I wipe using toilet paper because it’s so dry down there. Besides that, it’s been fine, and I haven’t experienced the torture of this medication yet."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'll start by saying I am prone to YI, and I normally go to the GYN, I highly recommend doing so. Of course, sometimes we are broke, and doctors are expensive. My YI started on Sun, by Tues night, I decided to get Monistat 1 (it was high dosage, also cheaper, I don't have insurance). I inserted it at 12 am and woke up at 4 am with a strong burning and itching sensation. I quickly went into the shower and washed my area. I decided to leave it, 1 hr later, the burning settled, and I woke up okay. Yesterday, it started burning again with a very uncomfortable itching. I went home and washed my area. Today, it feels tender but not as intense. I researched and found more natural and safe ways, I would suggest these: wash your area with apple cider vinegar, plain yogurt, or organic coconut oil, maybe leave it on for about 30 mins. I do not recommend using Monistat."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I was recently put on a new genital cream for an STI and used it twice. After first, I was itching and slightly burning, so naturally, I thought I had a YI. My genitals are very swollen and sore to the touch, so inserting the capsule was very painful and caused a lot of pain and burning. But after an hour or so of laying down with an ice pack on the affected area, it actually seems to be helping a little. It did not burn at all after the original burning and soreness upon insertion. It does not itch either."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So this was my first yeast infection, and I know it's recommended you go to the doctor first. I had read that some home remedies work, so I was downing oregano oil and rubbing yeast guard all over the place. I read online that Monistat is a good antifungal, so I got desperate and bought some. So I bought the 1-day ovule. I inserted it and felt fine for the next couple of hours. But then I went to the restroom, and after, I started itching really bad for about a couple of hours, and then it slowly calmed down. I went to bed about 12 and woke up at 7 feeling completely normal. My lady area is a little sore as to be expected. I have a high pain tolerance, so I mean, it itched, but not as bad as some of the comments on here. I recommend it."
