Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I got a YI and I usually go to my doctor and get a Diflucan, but this time I decided to go buy this product for some reason. I inserted it as stated, put a bit of ointment on, and 40 minutes later my poor vagina was on fire! Itching, burning, all bad. I got so irritated that I went to the bathroom to try to take off as much as I could, and it was all over my underwear. It's been over 2 hours and I'm still in pain. I'm hoping this medication actually works because if it doesn't, then I'm going through all of this pain for no reason :( no woman should have to feel what I'm feeling right now. Horrible, horrible. I will never buy this again, next time I'll just make the time to go to the doctors. Lesson learned."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am currently on antibiotics for a respiratory infection and I felt the YI coming. I purchased Monistat 1 pre-filled ointment and used it early on so I didn't have any discomfort, raw skin, or itching before use. I used the application after my shower and before bed. I woke up with an insanely inflamed vag, I could barely walk. Reading these reviews, a lot of people aren't saying that once the medicine is taken, the yeast will begin to spew out of the vag, which explains why I woke up and my undies were nearly soaked (yuck, I know), causing the irritation, raw itchy and inflamed skin. Besides all that, I noticed the swelling, burning, and discharge subsided all that day. This medicine actually works really well, you just have to keep clean and dry to rid symptoms."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Do not use this. I was having awful itching, irritation, and a little swollen, so I assumed a yeast infection and picked up the kit. After 4 days, symptoms did not go away or even get better. Made an OB appointment, and I had BV and an outer yeast infection. So, ladies, just go to the OB and get checked. A lot of times, BV and yeast infections have very similar symptoms. Next time, I'll skip the kit and go straight to the doctor!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've had a few YIs before, all due to antibiotics (yay me), and I've used the Monistat 1-day treatment before, and I don't remember having any negative side effects, although I do remember the cream burning/offering no relief. I've had this YI for 5 days, and so I decided to try again. I inserted it when I got home from work, then took a nap, and woke up with 10x the burning, itching, and irritation I've had all week! I went to the bathroom, and a lot of the medication was in my panties, and I cleaned what I could off of me. It really irritated my skin, and it was very uncomfortable for several hours. The only thing that offered any relief was applying damp toilet paper with cold water, and even that was only temporary. Never again!!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This item did not work for me. Before using this product, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a yeast infection. I received a prescription that worked very well. However, a week later, I felt vaginal irritation, so I decided to try the Monistat. Before I tried the Monistat, I wasn't uncomfortable or in pain. After using Monistat 1, my condition got worse than how I initially felt. I used it overnight, and the next morning I felt extreme dryness and irritation, which is how I felt before I went to the doctor and was treating my yeast infection. This item did not work and caused my infection to feel worse."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Lava doesn't have a thing on this stuff. Within a few minutes of my inserting this giant 'pill,' I felt an irritation that seemed 'wrong.' I dismissed it because the information provided said there might be minor burning and cramping. I went to bed believing that would be the most discomfort I would feel. Boy, was I wrong. A couple of hours later, I woke up with burning so bad I had to jump in the shower to try to wash out the medication. It didn't work. While I got a little relief, I still felt horrible burning and irritation throughout ALL my lady parts. DON'T USE THIS STUFF!!! I'd rather have to apply a smaller dose of the cream for 7 days than even consider using Monistat 1 ever again."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "UPDATE: I just spoke to a nurse with Monistat at their toll-free number, and she said to soak in a cool bath or take a cool shower and gently wash the excess ointment off. Do not use soap to do this, as it will further irritate the skin. Do not use the cool wipes or lotion that came in the package. She recommended using the 3-day or 7-day next time, as it is less potent. You have to wait to 'get busy' for seven days anyway, so might as well use the 7-day next time. Perhaps they have a new chemist on staff who messed up?!?"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I've used this product 3 times. The first was a burning, itching, horrifying experience. I realized that this may be the cream that was causing irritation. So later on, when I got the 2nd yeast infection, I used it again and decided not to use the cream, I used the egg. The experience was so much better. There was no burning and no itching. I think the cream has a weird reaction with the acidity of the vagina, as well as the bacterial imbalance. So I recommend not using the cream when using this product. It just irritates it more. The egg does the job well."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It was the worst experience of my life. I asked the pharmacist what he recommended since an antibiotic caused a yeast infection. He said if it was him, he would want to get rid of it right away. Wrong! I'm at day 5. I would have preferred the yeast infection. I took it early in the morning. After a few hours, I began to have a constant sting and itch. I took a shower and noticed major swelling and more discomfort. I felt so irritated. Just last night, I put Desitin to help. I will never take the one-day again. The three-day, I didn't get this reaction at all. Don't risk it. It is very painful and worry of damage it could cause. They need to pull this off the shelf! I had to write this to help others."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Worst product ever!!!! With all the horrible reviews that it has, I don't understand how it's still on the market. I unfortunately fell into buying the product because it's supposed to be 'recommended by doctors,' and I must say, the night I inserted this gel/cream inside of me, I thought my vagina was on fire. It's been 3 days now since I've used it... and my vagina is so irritated and so red, looks like someone took a match and burned me inside. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. GO SEE A DOCTOR AND GET ANTIBIOTICS BETTER LIKE DIFLUCAN."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the worst product ever! I used the 1-day ovule, and I feel like there is a lighted match along with a giant stalk of poison ivy shoved up my nether regions. It's 10 times worse than the YI itself, I can't even sit down. Opt for the 7-day treatment."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am pretty happy with this product overall. I am 42 years old and have had only 4 or so yeast infections. I started having symptoms on a Monday, but by the time I realized what it was and bought this product, it was late Tuesday. I inserted it and laid down to take a nap around 2:00. I still had a lot of burning and irritation. So I decided to use the sitz bottle I got from the hospital from childbirth, but any squirt bottle would work. So every time I peed, I would wash with warm water. This helped a ton. By Wednesday, not much change. Still had burning. The cream that came with the kit didn't seem to help much. So I decided to use Vaseline. Brilliant! By Thursday, much better and Friday gone!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I don't know who created this product. I tried something different this round, and WOW what a huge, HUGE mistake. This stuff needs to be taken off the market. I am on day FIVE of extreme burning, itching, and discomfort/irritation to the point I have cried multiple times. This medication starts BURNING BAD minutes after you insert the ointment. Then for days, as it leaks out. It irritates the whole vaginal area... swelling, burning, itching, and due to all this, I have gotten NO sleep. I am currently having to CONSTANTLY ice it and put miconazole cream on it every few hours to get a LITTLE comfort. Plus ibuprofen for the swelling and Zyrtec for the itching. This is worse than giving birth. The FDA needs to remove this product! It needs ZERO stars."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is NOT an experience, but more so an explanation of why the burning sensation occurs. It is AND isn’t a side effect. It’s more so your body’s reaction to foreign objects in the vagina. Anything you place in the vagina is likely to cause irritation and upset the pH balance. When you take oral medication, it helps combat the yeast infection from inside the bloodstream. Yet, topical creams, ointments, or ovules are applied “outside” the body. All the products serve their purpose: to rid of the yeast infection. If you don’t like the discomfort (which I’m sure no one does), the Rx route is your best solution. Also, if you’ve never been DIAGNOSED with a yeast infection before, DO NOT use these products. Self-diagnosis of your lady problem will only further complicate the healing process. There are many vaginal infections that mimic each other. These products are a “quick fix” for those who’ve had this problem before and just want instant relief."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "So... I used this because I thought I had a yeast infection. I had some itching, and my discharge looked weird, but I was afraid to go to the doctor. Worst decision I’ve made, to be honest. When I started using it, the burning wasn’t severe, but two days later it got out of control. Even the itch cream didn’t help. My labia got really irritated and swollen. It was hard to walk for like two days."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is the first time I have EVER had a YI! I, like most others, thought the Monistat 1 would be great - 1 day and it’s over. Since I also start my period today, I took it and laid down for about an hour. The burning and itching slowly started increasing to an unbearable amount. The irritation is so bad it’s like a jolt to my nerves. I tried tea tree oil, coconut oil. I am currently laying in a cold bath of tea tree oil because it’s the only way I can find relief!"

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "Terrible! All night, my vagina was burning, and my vulva was swelling with a lot of irritation. I used the product last night, and today I feel horrible. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor because the swelling in my vagina doesn’t go away. Never use this again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm not saying to not buy or to buy. But what I will say is the burning fire was real for me! I bought the ovule 'day or night' and put it in at 10:30 a.m. hoping for some relief for my workday. I went to work at 11. By 12 p.m. my vagina was on fire. I assumed it was the medicine working or maybe even the heat in the kitchen plus my pants that were warm, causing me to sweat in that area. So I continued in silent suffering until about 3 p.m. Went home and changed underwear and pants and rinsed my delicate lady parts with cool water... irritated and red but no swelling. I then decided to use the external cream... oh my. By the time I left work walking with my legs spread too far apart, I was so swollen. Swollen like I was after childbirth. I soaked in a lukewarm bath and took 2 Benadryl thinking I must be allergic to this medication!! Turns out maybe I am."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ok. I have a slight yeast infection. No big deal. Kinda uncomfortable, itchy, etc. Bought this product for some relief. OH MY GOD! If I wanted more pain and irritation, I would have just douched with ghost pepper juice! This product had to be made by a man. I mean, insult to injury! I was reading up on some of these reviews and just ran for the fridge! No yogurt, but I found one of my kids' Go-Gurts in there. Fingers crossed that it kind of helps. Like milk after a jalapeño."

Tioconazole topical for Vaginal Yeast Infection "After rounds of antibiotics, my body produced a yeast infection. The worst irritation I have ever experienced, my vagina was swollen, red, itchy, and stayed in constant pain. I purchased Vagisil to reduce the itch, however, that caused more inflammation and itch. Last night, after not being able to sleep, I woke up at 4 am and ran to my local 24-hour pharmacy to purchase Monistat. After viewing my options, I decided to purchase the 1-day combination due to the fact that my anniversary with my boyfriend is quickly approaching, and we are going on a romantic weekend getaway. Having a swollen, itchy lady part oozing discharge is the last thing I would want to happen. I took the Monistat, and it cleared right up :)"
