For Psoriatic Arthritis "I LOVE THIS MEDICINE! I had tried many medicines before this including methotrexate which was HORRIBLE - they all made me so ill. I only had loose stools at the start of treatment as a side effect, no others. I take it alone, without NSAIDs, and it manages all my pain and swelling like a champ. I have had no flares and I take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. My hair also stopped falling out after the 1st 2 months of taking it. It literally changed my life without shutting down my immune system. I could not be happier."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I'm a 31-year-old male. I've had little to no side effects. I had loose stool for the first week, other than that, I've had no problems. I wouldn't say it's a miracle drug, but it has relieved my pain significantly within the first 2 weeks. My wife is happy because I complain about a quarter as much, lol. Still have some lower back pain, but my neck pain has pretty much disappeared. The rest of my body feels better, but like I said, not 100% (that may be because I'm getting older, who knows, lol). Very thankful for this drug. I've been on it for about 4 months."

Sulfasalazine for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Nasty stuff. First had extreme tiredness, then stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, fever, chills, rash. Went to emergency. Was on it total of 3 1/2 weeks. Stopped it two days ago, still not well. Maybe go back to methotrexate."

For Crohn's Disease "I tried Lialda, Pentasa, and a few other medicines for my moderate Crohn's disease, and they all made it worse. I tried sulfasalazine, and I am symptom-free as long as I don't forget to take any doses. If I miss a dosage, I may have some loose stool, but after I go back to taking it, I once again am symptom-free."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Started sulfasalazine three weeks ago. I have been feeling quite ill, flu-like, drained of energy. Mornings are like the worst hangover feeling. My joints are never like before, with constant pain. Tiredness never leaves me. Some diarrhea. Is this drug for me?"

For Crohn's Disease "I was getting gastric blockages quite often that caused a lot of pain and put me in the hospital on more than one occasion. I wasn’t diagnosed with Crohn's until after my surgery. After surgery, my GI doctor gave me a couple of prescriptions for medicine that wasn’t covered under my insurance and I could not afford. We settled on sulfasalazine. I have been taking this stuff for 8 months now. I go to the restroom now more than ever. I noticed that if I would miss a dose or two, I didn’t have to use the restroom so much. This medicine caused bloating, strange noises in my abdomen, constant diarrhea, and abdominal pain. I recently took myself off the drug and feel my best since surgery. I’m waiting for my next appointment with my GI doctor to discuss other medicine or no medicine at all."
