For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Just took my last injection of month 5, 1.7. I have lost about 25-30 lbs along with 3-5 days a week at the gym. Definitely curbs your appetite. The nausea is very real! Each month I thought it would get easier. It never does. A couple times I puked for hours. Lots of belching. In the beginning, a little constipation. The first day or 2 after the injection, you can feel fatigue. It works for weight loss if you can tolerate the nausea. This will be my last month. I have a 6-month prescription but I can’t deal with the nausea anymore."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took it for 8 weeks, made it through the 2nd titrated dose and couldn't handle it anymore. Nausea, gas, bloat, constipation, diarrhea, and it was worse at night while lying down. Never improved, but actually got worse by week 8. Not sure how anyone makes it to the full dose. Also did not drop a single pound. There were days I only consumed 600 calories and still felt awful. I read another review very similar and agree that you absolutely cannot eat anything spicy. Bland food days were better but there are not enough antacids and constipation meds in the world to make me want to lose 20 pounds this badly. Took my last dose 10 days ago and am still dealing with residual GI upset. Hope physicians are more forthcoming about the side effects and do not tell patients they happen but subside in a couple of days - they do not."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on my 13th week at 1mg now. I love it. Yes, I was nauseated at first, but the quick weight loss results made me want to continue. At this dosage, I am not really hungry for food, and if I do feel hungry, it doesn't take much food for me to feel satisfied. I have really cut my portions and also use high fiber, high protein foods. Constipation is real, people, laxatives help. I make good food choices now and am down 25 lbs. I want to keep going, but the coupon has run out, and now my out-of-pocket cost with insurance is around $900. I am so disappointed to have to stop and worried about gaining back or not losing anymore. Novo really needs to make this affordable. The price is ridiculous, and millions of people are dying from comorbidities to obesity every day. I have high-end insurance, and still cannot afford the copays."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Wegovy since August 2021. I am down 45 pounds. I did low carb with this which has really helped me to lose the weight I have wanted to lose. The side effects are very real, extreme constipation and nausea for two days after injection. The doctor prescribed Zofran for the nausea and I have taken a stool softener for the constipation. All things said, it really helped curb my appetite. But you have to diet with it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "57-year-old on this for 3 1/2 weeks. I'd like to tell you how much I lost (was 4 pounds at 3 weeks), but I am so constipated for 4 days I cannot be sure what my real weight is (it could be 6 pounds now). Get a telemedicine provider to send you a vial of semaglutide (not the pre-loaded syringes) and use an insulin syringe to administer 1/2 the dose on one day with an ODT Zofran, then take the second half of the dose 24 hours later with another ODT Zofran. I administer in my outer thigh, like you would give insulin. The provider will tell you exactly how many 'units' to administer per week, just cut it in half, say Saturday and Sunday. Take a stool softener on Sunday, which I forgot to do this week! I have had zero gastrointestinal issues, no nausea, no vomiting. The Zofran may be causing some of the constipation, and I don't consider this a real issue, just a minor side effect with an easy fix. I am a Nurse Practitioner, so I have been watching everything for real side effects. I'll update."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I had been on this drug for 4 months. Typical escalation dose until month 4, I stayed on the 1 mg. The side effects were rough since increasing to 1 mg. So much nausea, worsened reflux, constipation, bloating, burping, and indigestion. I vomited once, but there were a few times I almost did. In the last few weeks, I noticed hair loss. Noticed skin tags that I have never had...like 3 grew since the med. Weird. Oh, and I had serious issues with certain smells. I had to change out the hand soaps in my house 5 times. If I smell rubbing alcohol, I am instantly nauseous. Just looking at the Wegovy box before injecting would make me dizzy and nauseous. So weird. Difficult to eat healthy on this med due to side effects, and only able to tolerate simple carbs, low-fat diet. Also hard to work out when feeling so nauseous...so didn't think it was contributing to my health. Has not really contributed to weight loss, and appetite is almost the same as before med."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy in April 2024. I was 193 lbs at just between 5’1”-5’2.5. I had tried everything, but food noise and the fact that being so short, the calorie intake had to be so low to lose weight. Anyway, the first thing I noticed was a bit of nausea. That went away after a few days. I have had very minimal side effects. Sometimes a little nausea, constipation, or diarrhea. Nothing to really disrupt my life. For the first time in my life, I actually can tell when I am full. My IBS has been almost non-existent. I’m more awake. I have fewer sweet cravings. The food noise is still there, but my stomach is able to signal my brain that if I eat more, I will feel sick. I have lost to date 4/2024-3/2025, 63 lbs. I am just about to hit my normal weight goal. I knew how to lose the weight. I am someone who has a very difficult time shedding the weight with exercise and diet. I am super grateful for this opportunity to prove that a drug works so well."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, sulfur burps, fatigue, loss of appetite, super sensitive to smells, I have to make myself eat enough. It's like morning sickness, only it's 24/7. Zofran helps for about 6 hours. Cannot tolerate much besides chicken broth and Brussels sprouts. No fried, fatty, oily, spicy foods. Need to stay hydrated with water. Ginger ale helps. I'm up to a 1 mg dose and 14th week. This nausea is constant and impacts my daily routine significantly. However, it is the only effective weight loss option that's worked in 26 years of diets and exercise and eating healthy. I will not give up. The weight is killing me, and I needed this medication. I started at 221 lbs. and now I'm at 194.3 lbs. BMI is close to pre-obesity, and I know I'll cry the day I hit it. Full disclosure, I'm disabled in part due to my weight. There is no way I could have worked and taken Wegovy with the severity of my nausea and fatigue. But the mobility and breathing issues are improving."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I've been taking Wegovy since September (2024). I initially did not like the way it made me feel. I was experiencing constipation, headaches, and nausea. My next dose was 0.50, which the pharmacy was out of until this past April 2025. I was determined to see if I could withstand the side effects. My appetite was suppressed immediately. I experienced constipation, which I counteracted with stool softeners every day. I took Zofran for the nausea. I had started riding my stationary bike around the same time that I started Wegovy. On April 17th, 2025, I started walking 30 minutes a day. I am now at a 1.7 dose. Side effects are minimal. I noticed that if I am constipated, I would get nauseous. Stay away from heavy grease. I consume a protein shake every morning and try to eat meat as much as I can as I do not really have a taste for meat or I no longer like alcohol. I am happy that I tried it again. I am 6'1" and was 283. I am 266. I want to be 240. Yay!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Beginning weight was 234 and began at 0.25 in June 2024, and just began 2.4 today at 177. Been going up very slowly, but weight loss has slowed way down. Still have 17 pounds to lose, but prefer 27 more. Have gone from 2XL/Size 22 to size 14. Have dealt with nausea, headaches, occasional constipation/diarrhea, depending on what I eat. Small meals, five times a day, plus drinking lots of water is key. I get extremely tired the day or two after taking the shot. I take the shot at night, hoping to be at my goal weight by the end of May 2025. 63-year-old woman and all blood work now within normal limits."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Wegovy .25 mg mid-August and felt no side effects but no weight loss neither. Difficult stool movement right away. After 6 weeks, I started taking .50 mg after difficulty finding this dose in any pharmacy in Miami. I stayed on this dose for 4 weeks without any weight loss or bad side effects, other than constipation. Then I started taking 1 mg and immediately started feeling very bad: severe nausea and indigestion and bad diarrhea. Obviously, you can’t eat anything, so yes, I finally started losing weight, but felt so bad, I could not function, slept a lot, did not eat, was on the toilet a lot, and decided this was not worth it and stopped after two injections. Perhaps other people can deal with these kinds of side effects or they just react easier. Since I started on low doses for so long, I was disappointed the side effects were still so strong. After about three days (after stopping), I feel normal again but weight comes back quickly if you don’t have an iron will!"

"I’ve been on Wegovy for just over a year. At first, I experienced heartburn and a little bit of nausea and fatigue. I only threw up once. I’m adjusted to it now, and it’s keeping the weight I lost off, which was 60 pounds. I used to get migraines the day after injection, sometimes a couple of days in a row. I have found that if I take the injection earlier in the day around lunchtime and I also eat around the time I take the injection, I have fewer headaches. Please remember, you should avoid greasy foods because that causes the nausea and the heartburn, although I do enjoy an occasional hamburger. I am starting to notice a vision issue in one eye, but I don’t know if it’s related. I’m getting ready to see an ophthalmologist. I’m also in my 50s and knew already that I have the beginnings of cataracts. At first, injections cause constipation, eating better causes them to become regular for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So I am 5'4" and I found myself at the weight I was when I delivered my children, 145 pounds. For three years plus, I desperately tried to approach my goal weight of 125 pounds, dieting and feeling miserable for 3 years. I told my doctor I was dieting and exercising and could not budge the scale. At 60 years of age, the weight just doesn’t come off like when you are young. I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 weeks and have lost 12 pounds-a miracle! Now at 133 pounds, I’m staying the course to my goal. I will say the nausea is the worst side effect and comes in intermittent waves. I have Zofran (ondansetron) for when I can’t take the nausea. One of the best side effects for me has been totally eradicating my diarrhea. I have irritable bowel on the diarrhea spectrum, and luckily I did not get the diarrhea side effect but more the constipation, which has totally normalized my GI tract! I am so happy about this and assume this is due to slowing gastrointestinal motility."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have lost 20 lbs, but the nausea and constipation never went away. It did help my BP, but if you want to see the effects on your face, go outside with a mirror, and you will see the effects it has on your skin. I have always had good skin, but now I have crow's feet and wrinkles around my mouth that are much deeper than I didn’t have before. What people called Ozempic face is the same thing you get with Wegovy. The fast weight loss will leave you with loose skin also if you are older."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have done very well with Wegovy. I am now on the highest dose. This is the 3rd week on the highest dose, and I have lost 25 lbs in 4 months, and I am still losing. I have had some common issues such as nausea, diarrhea in the first month, but that went away. Then in the 2nd month, I had minor stomach pain, and the diarrhea changed to constipation. I am still experiencing constipation but managing it with fiber. Other than these issues, I am happy with the medication, and I feel so much better!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Wegovy 0.25 mg for 6 weeks now and have lost 15 pounds. I have had side effects of nausea after injection for about 24 hours and constipation, which is resolved with laxatives. Wegovy curbs your appetite and has changed the taste of certain foods for me. I am increasing the dosage to 0.50 mg to see if weight loss is quicker."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Ozempic 12 weeks ago in Jan 2022, which is the same as Wegovy in a lower dosage. I spent 4 weeks on the 0.25 dosage, losing 2 lbs. Moved up to the 0.5 dosage for 4 weeks, losing another 2 lbs, moved up to the 1 dosage for 4 weeks, and lost an additional 3 lbs. I just took my first dose of Wegovy at the 1.7 dosage, and wow can I tell a difference. I won’t lie, I have experienced a few side effects, such as constipation, some abdominal pain, nausea, headache, and diarrhea, but all have been mostly mild and very tolerable. Nothing that can’t be helped with eating a little less. The key to managing all of it is learning how to eat properly with the right portion sizes. Only eat until you are satisfied rather than full. For me, it is well worth dealing with mild side effects in order to achieve a healthy lifestyle!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started Wegovy in Oct 2021. Down 30 lbs. It definitely curbs your appetite. The first couple of months were getting used to the change in signals from my body. Hunger pains felt different and not so intense. I did experience nausea - the doctor prescribed an anti-nausea medicine that helped greatly. Constipation was also an issue - again, the doctor suggested Milk of Magnesia, which helped with that. This has absolutely been a game changer for me. My struggles before were always being hungry, and I mean always. No matter how I curbed my diet (not a junk food/pop drinker at all) and exercised, I just could not lose weight. I had to stop it last month, not because I wanted to, but because my insurance company refuses to cover it. Even though I completely qualify for coverage, they said because the manufacturer could not keep it in stock, they won't cover it. Now I'm trying to maintain the meal portioning I was used to on Wegovy, but it's harder now that the hunger feelings are back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Wegovy for months now, I’m currently on the highest dosage. The first few months, the pounds dropped so fast. I do get nauseous and have constipation regularly, a few weeks after starting a new dosage. I’m having extreme hair loss and shedding, which is not listed as a side effect. Now, on this new dosage, my appetite is back, and I feel like I’m gaining some of the weight back. I find myself binge eating bad foods and don’t feel full. So, honestly, I’m not sure if I’ll continue. If it continued to work as it did in the beginning, I definitely would. I’ve lost a total of almost 45 pounds, but I definitely don’t want to gain it back. I wasn’t sure if the hair loss was related, but I’ve read a few other reviews that had the same side effect, so I’m leaning towards that. My husband has also been on it, and he doesn't like it at all, he hasn’t lost any weight, and he is on the 1 mg dose while I’m on 2.4 since I started before him."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Wegovy in April. The first month was fine, no side effects, but I had to go up to 1 mg because nobody had the .5 mg. This was awful for me, with nausea and constipation. I did go up to the 1.7 mg, which in the first week I was fine. Then began the nausea, throwing up, I felt as if I was pregnant, just as the slightest smells would make me puke. As I got towards the end of my month on 1.7 mg, the sickness went away. I have decided to stay on the 1.7 mg for another month before moving up to the 2.4 mg. I also take it in my stomach, opposed to my arm or thigh. I plan to start taking it in my thigh to see if the side effects are as bad. I have currently lost 14 lbs while being on Wegovy."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started approx. 3/29 and will begin my third step up to 1 mg this week. I have lost 23 lbs in 8 weeks. Very happy about that. My appetite is reduced. I can sometimes skip dinner because, after a light lunch and breakfast, I am not hungry. I have experienced fatigue, nausea, and constipation. However, if I eat something like an apple with peanut butter, that helps with the constipation. So far, these side effects are not bad enough for me to discontinue. I would like to feel better, but I am hoping it will improve. Fatigue is the worst for me because I also have another autoimmune disease that causes extreme tiredness. I am taking a multivitamin and see my doctor in a week, and I will discuss negative side effects. Right now, the benefits of losing weight are worth it."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have lost 55 pounds, which is fantastic! But since being on the 2.4 mg for 3 months, it doesn’t seem to work anymore. I crave sweets constantly, something I have never done before! I have not lost any weight in the last 2 months, I actually gained back 3 pounds. Doctor went down to the 1.7 mg injection and added Metformin, which helped some with my appetite but had an increase in nausea, vomiting, acid reflux, and constipation."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Wegovy has been very beneficial for me health-wise and from a mental standpoint. Health-wise, I have seen my blood pressure go down, and I am confident the weight loss (26 lbs so far) was the reason for it being lower. I am on medication for hypertension, and at my next MD visit, we will have to discuss coming off of it or at least reducing the dosage. Another thing I have noticed is at night I’m not short of breath anymore. That’s a big one for me because I was not sleeping well at all. Now, as far as mentally, I am feeling better about myself and not wearing jackets all the time. I am also ready to take some professional pictures with my husband again. Now for the cons. Sometimes, I feel like it’s been hard on my body. Constipation has been my biggest side effect so far. I’ve tried everything to relieve it but haven’t had much success. Another con is experiencing nausea at times, especially if I eat too much. Dosage: 1.7 Duration: 5 months Wt loss: 26 lbs"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy 6 weeks ago at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks, and for the last 2 weeks at 1 mg. I started at 211 lbs and am now 197 lbs, so have lost 14 lbs and counting in 6 weeks. Not bad! Symptoms I've experienced include being slightly more tired than usual on the day of the injection, and some constipation at first but I use Miralax if there's an issue and it works fine for me. I haven't had any extreme nausea, but the injection definitely makes me less hungry and there are certain foods that I feel slightly queasy even considering eating-like high-fat foods-so I don't eat them. I eat a lot more fruits and vegetables and get full very quickly. I work out 4-5 days a week, my energy has been good and I feel like I'm getting back to my old self. I'd like to be about 135 lbs eventually. Wegovy has been a lifesaver. I'm 55 years old and had considerable cravings, especially at night. I'm happy to be free of them. I hope to make my new habits permanent."
