Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Week 7. It's killing me. I'm nauseous all the time. Migraine. Sure, my glucose levels are amazing, 94 to 135, without taking Novolog. (Since I can't eat anything, I don't take mealtime insulin). But it's not worth it. I belch 24/7. Get hiccups that wake me up. I've tried everything I know to lessen the nausea, but I've eaten NOTHING for days on end. This can't be healthy!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "So I have been on Ozempic for 5 weeks. I am tired a lot. Not sure if this is the drug or my poor sleep, but now that I see others are tired a lot, it makes me wonder. I have nasty burps a lot. I started on a dose of 0.25 for 4 weeks. I had a lot of low-level nausea, but not too bad except for one day. Then last Sunday, I took the higher dose of 0.5, and I was okay on Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday the nausea was horrible, and I had explosive diarrhea all day to the point I had to take Imodium, and I got my doctor's office to prescribe an anti-nausea med, Zofran, which helped a little. The next day, less nausea, and today is Thursday of that week, and I still have the burps and more BMs than I would like, as well as a lot of gas. I know I have lost weight just by how my clothes fit. I have very little appetite. Not sure if the pluses outweigh the minuses yet. I am probably going to try one more week and see how I feel. It has had a modest impact on blood sugars. I have been using less insulin."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Sulfur burps, sulfur farts, abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloated, pancreas pain, sore breasts, feeling as if I am going to faint, pressure behind eyes. I have never been to the hospital so many times in my life. They told me I had a 'stomach bug', turns out that it was Ozempic. I had such high hopes, I've heard many great things. User beware!"

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have lost 37 lbs in 3.5 months, but should be more due to the horrific side effects. Burping, belching, vomiting, diarrhea, chest pain, nausea, blurry vision, basically every side effect imaginable. I never had side effects from any medications before. I continued to increase the dose up to 1.7 mg and hope for the best with no success. I have three more weeks of misery, but due to the cost of $586, I refuse to trash this medication."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in March 2019. Doctor put me on Ozempic rather than insulin, although it's not recommended. He thought it was worth a try along with 500 mg metformin twice daily. The first 3 weeks of 0.25 mg Ozempic were just fine. Very minimal side effects - occasional diarrhea, some gas, and belching. Nothing I couldn't handle. The fourth week of 0.25 mg was worse. Constant diarrhea for four days, nausea, some vomiting. I went to a different doctor thinking I had a stomach virus, he prescribed me an anti-diarrheal, and I felt better. I took the Ozempic at 0.5 mg then, as prescribed. Two days later, nightmare. Diarrhea again, vomiting, nausea, and serious fatigue. I'm in the throes of it right now, and I'm going to be contacting my doctor to see what I can do to counteract this. Besides the side effects, though, it's working beautifully. My blood sugar is down from the high 300s to the low 100s in just a month."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "A miracle drug! I have been on Ozempic for 7 months and have lost 43 pounds. Ozempic destroys my appetite. I feel 'full' most of the time, so when I do eat, I eat small portions. There is the occasional bout of mild nausea, but no vomiting. A very small price to pay! I also find that I burp more than normal. I attribute all of this to the lack of stomach emptying effect of Ozempic. My sugar level has gone down, but not as much as I thought it would with a 40-pound loss of weight (I weigh 228 now). I am hoping to lose another 20 pounds at least and am hopeful that will reduce my sugar numbers."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started out taking 0.25 for 4 weeks, then the 5th week went to 0.50. The next day I was vomiting, had diarrhea, and sulfur burps. Couldn't hold anything down, not even water. Went to the ER the 2nd day to get IV fluids. Called the manufacturer and put in a report. They sent me a mailer to return the pen for evaluation. I am keeping a record of the lot # before I mail the pen back. I am taking a nausea pill and experiencing severe cramps and diarrhea, but the vomiting has stopped. Haven't had any solid food for 4 days, trying to eat Jell-O and applesauce and can barely get it down. So wished I would have read these reviews before I bumped it to 0.5. My diabetes doctor said to decrease. I am going to stop taking it. I have no spleen, so it is difficult to manage all these side effects. Hoping and praying I can start to feel better soon."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Week 14, lost only 12 lbs, but improved labs. I have had uncontrollable diarrhea for 4 days now, together with very foul-smelling burps. I had no side effects until I started 1.7 mg. I may have to go back to 1 mg dose. I have more weight to lose."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started Ozempic and did pretty well on the .25 dose, but when I went to .5, things got bad fast. Absolutely the worst burps that eventually have me vomiting. Cannot find any relief from the nasty burps until finally throwing up. I had terrible headaches, and it felt like I had the flu-just completely exhausted. I am done with this medication, and I had high hopes for it. Hope everyone has a better experience."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I rarely ever have side effects from any drugs that I have taken before. After my second dose, I began extreme side effects of stomach pain, bloating, sour belching, flatulence, diarrhea, zero appetite, and indigestion. These symptoms have not gone away after 10 days of discontinued use. It definitely lowered my daily sugar levels. You can use this medication if you are okay with feeling like death."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic worked well for me to lower blood sugar and cravings with few side effects. However, the drug removed any enjoyment of life in general for me as well. After 6 months, I had severe depression. I take 2 antidepressants already and am fairly upbeat and happy. Had to stop Ozempic, and it took a few months to regain a positive outlook. Also, food left the stomach so slowly that it would ferment and cause awful sulfur burps and flatulence. 1 ml/weekly."

Semaglutide "I've been on Ozempic for about 2 to 2.5 months now. So far, no weight loss, but horrible gas. I burp all the time, and my stomach gets so bloated. Sometimes it's sulfur burps, but others, it's just a lot of plain gas. I get a lot of gas coming out the other end too. On the advice of my doctor, I waited a few weeks extra to up my dose from 0.25 to 0.5. My appetite has gone down, but the gas is still so bad that my clothes fit worse than before! I'm on week 3 of the 0.5 and waiting for it to get better. I have a follow-up appointment in mid-July."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Started taking this med about a month ago and not sure I will stick with it. After 2 weeks, stomach cramping and some constipation started, but the worst of it all is the stress I am having with horrible sulfur burps. The smell is so horrible that even the smallest of burps can linger in a room for minutes, and you can really clear a room. I have had to have Febreeze Air Fresheners nearby at all times. If I feel a burp coming in the middle of the night, I literally run to the bathroom as it is really very unpleasant for my spouse and it really embarrasses me even after 27 years of marriage as it’s that bad! We just lowered my dose to 0.25 mg, but if the sulfur burps remain, that will seal the deal and I will stop it. Have lost 10 pounds over the month too as appetite is shot, and I’m not sure that’s really the best way to lose weight if you can barely eat at all."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking this one week ago and just took the second dose of 0.25 mg. I have lost 2 kilos. I have had no interest in food like I previously had. I am experiencing some burping, feeling a little hypo, and had some reflux in the first week. My doctor told me if 0.25 mg works, they won’t increase the dosage."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This medication has made me so sick. I’m on 0.25, and I have been on it a month. Every week, 2 days after injection, I get really bad burps. They smell like rotten eggs, I get a headache, I can’t eat. I was so excited to take this because of all the weight loss stories, however, the side effects for me are terrible. I’m going to stop it and just continue with my metformin."

Semaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started 2 months ago on .25 mg x 1 month and then .5 mg x 1 month and now on 1 mg x 1 week. Awful diarrhea for this entire period along with sulfur burps and nauseated stomach. I am 9 weeks into this course of treatment and have not experienced any relief from gut upset. I am abandoning this drug for weight loss purposes, having only lost 5 lbs during this time. I had been on a keto diet prior and had lost 8 lbs over 3 weeks. I intend to return to the keto diet once my gut returns to normal. I feel exhausted, unwell, and very disappointed with this drug."

Semaglutide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Sulfur burps (like eggs), terrible gas, confusion, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Anxiety led to severe panic attacks. I did lose weight, but its side effects are not worth it. It caused me food aversion. Eating and drinking became a chore. My dose was increased each week by 0.25 mg."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken 7 doses of Ozempic. The first week wasn't too bad. A little nausea and fatigue. I did feel like my food stuck in my throat, and every time I burped, there it was. As I continued to take it each week, the side effects got worse. I was just diagnosed with diabetes in May, and since then, I've been able to come off of my insulin on my own, before Ozempic. I still take Metformin twice a day. This past week, the seventh dose made me so sick! If I wasn't nauseous every day, I was running to the bathroom at all hours of the day and night. I had horrible heartburn, gas, burping, jitters, and dizziness the whole time and thought I could continue, but after this past week, my doctor said to come off of it. It will take a while to get out of my system, I know, but I hope it does so quickly. I need my life back!!"

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 2 months. Serious diarrhea and increased my acid reflux quite a bit. Very unpleasant burping. I have lost 4 pounds, and I am seldom hungry, I eat out of habit and stress relief. My symptoms are not severe, but I simply feel miserable, like the flu. I want to give the drug more time to see if I start feeling better, but it is so tempting to trash the stuff. My morning blood sugars are pretty good, I will get an A1C letter this month, and I expect it to be down. I hope that will be an incentive to stay with the drug."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Took one 0.5 shot. Will not be taking any more. Constant nausea, diarrhea, dry heaving, and rotten egg burps. It has been nine days now since the shot and only just starting to feel human, but the symptoms are still there. I honestly have felt like I have some terrible sickness bug. The sulfur burps my whole family can smell... like 5 minutes later if they walk in the room. No idea what poison this is, but for someone who has rarely had side effects of medication... this is awful."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor prescribed Ozempic for me at the beginning of January, starting at the .25 mg dose and working up to the 1 mg dose, which I have been on for a few weeks now. I have seen noticeable improvements in my glucose levels, which are now at a normal range, which they had not been for years. It was also prescribed to help with weight loss. I have not found it to be particularly helpful in this regard. I am losing small amounts of weight, but a lot of this has to do with a modified diet that is conducive to weight loss. The side effects I have experienced and continue to experience are stomach cramps and diarrhea, sulfur burps, some constipation, lightheadedness, and dizziness, which is the worst one for me. I was at the hairdresser today, and on leaving I almost passed out and had to go back inside to sit down, and there was a big fuss, etc., etc. It was very embarrassing and scary. I so desperately want to lose weight and think that it will eventually work for me, so I am going to keep taking it."

Semaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Doc put my daughter on this to see if it would help lose some weight she had with the PCOS. Good news: she lost 9 pounds the first week. Bad news: it was because she vomited multiple times a day and was miserably ill for the next week. We stopped the Ozempic per her doctor, but now she seems to be having gastroparesis; much belching and still vomiting in the morning 2 weeks after stopping. Absolutely not worth it."
