For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I have been taking this medication now for 2 weeks and 1/2 for weight loss purposes, and I started with 1 mg recommended by my friend that lost 15 pounds with it in 2 months. Well, I got very nauseous, dizzy, and headaches, which got better in the 2nd week, but I feel very tired all the time, very low energy, and started having shortness of breath. I lost 5 pounds so far, and I'm still not feeling well. I do get full faster when I eat, but it has been very hard dealing with the side effects. At this moment, I'm not sure if I will go on with it or not. My inspiration is my son, who was 242 pounds and now is 205 after 1 month and 3 weeks of being on Ozempic. It has truly changed his life, and he is super happy, he calls it the miracle drug. I will keep you guys posted on my journey."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic made me sick after the second week. I had to go to the emergency room for dehydration, fatigue, depression, and bloating and fluid! My doctor pretty much gave it for weight loss because I was pre-diabetes. Not to mention I gained more weight!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in March 2019. Doctor put me on Ozempic rather than insulin, although it's not recommended. He thought it was worth a try along with 500 mg metformin twice daily. The first 3 weeks of 0.25 mg Ozempic were just fine. Very minimal side effects - occasional diarrhea, some gas, and belching. Nothing I couldn't handle. The fourth week of 0.25 mg was worse. Constant diarrhea for four days, nausea, some vomiting. I went to a different doctor thinking I had a stomach virus, he prescribed me an anti-diarrheal, and I felt better. I took the Ozempic at 0.5 mg then, as prescribed. Two days later, nightmare. Diarrhea again, vomiting, nausea, and serious fatigue. I'm in the throes of it right now, and I'm going to be contacting my doctor to see what I can do to counteract this. Besides the side effects, though, it's working beautifully. My blood sugar is down from the high 300s to the low 100s in just a month."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "From the initial starting dose until I went up to 1 mg, the whole 6 months was a roller coaster of nausea, headaches, and uncontrollable vomiting. The nausea was always followed by throwing up 5-7 times per day. If I ate or drank anything with too much sugar (including fresh orange juice), then I would throw it up within 30 mins. The sulfate mouth smell, along with the vomiting, was difficult and embarrassing. Exhausted and tired feeling, along with feeling depressed and hating/disgusted by food, is how I felt. I did lose about 8 kgs before moving on to Saxenda. Get ready for Ozempic to destroy your life for a few months if you want to lose weight with it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced severe stomach bloating and constipation after the first dose. I started injecting into the back of my arms and, with each subsequent dose, side effects lessen, though I still experience moderate nausea and fatigue after taking my weekly dose. On the positive side, my appetite has been reduced by at least 1/2, with 15 pounds lost. My fasting blood sugars are in the 80's and my post-meal levels rarely top 130. Even after eating small amounts of carbs, sugars fall to the nineties within an hour."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "3 weeks in... Initially prescribed for weight management. While my appetite's drastically reduced, I've experienced headaches, some brain fog, and felt a little under the weather. Nausea slightly though it reduced day by day. Fatigue's unbearable. I typically have an upbeat, positive attitude and noticed a not-so-good version of myself just recently. Contemplating discontinuing treatment as excited as I am for the weight loss aspect of it :("

For Type 2 Diabetes "It has been brilliant for me. 43 kg/94 pounds lost in 9 months and not a hungry day. Almost no side effects. My doctor advised me to go to very small meals to start with, and I think that helped a lot. My sugars dropped from double normal to normal in less than 6 months. I did suffer a loss of energy at the start, but now I feel better than ever. Also, as an Aussie, it is dirt cheap at $180 a month for the 1 mg shot."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic has changed my life and put my diabetes in remission. I am 5 foot 5 and weighed 155 pounds. I now weigh 120. The downside is that it took me two months to adjust to the drug. I went from .25 to eventually a weekly dose of .50. Those two months were horrible, but I persevered. The symptoms were extreme nausea and fatigue. The other challenge is that I have to be sure to keep up my caloric intake so that I don’t continue to lose weight. I am at my ideal weight, but I want to maintain it rather than lose any more."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My side effects were bad burping and gas, extreme abdominal pain radiating into my back, headaches, extreme fatigue, and more. Three trips to the ER, one MRI, one ultrasound, and three CT scans, and the consistent diagnosis was 'everything looks perfect.' Very disappointed that an ER, GP, endocrinologist, and GI specialist all did not seem to recognize these drug side effects. I see the endocrinologist today and will discuss, looking for better options. I have had a horrible nine months. Very disappointed in both our healthcare chemists and industry in general."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am on my 3rd week of Ozempic. So far, the only noticeable side effects have been fatigue, slight headache after injection, and it has stirred up my GERD a bit. It seems to be working with me. I am hoping all stays as it is now. Probably lucky on the side effects. I delayed taking for 2 weeks to wrestle with the possible side effects."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken 7 doses of Ozempic. The first week wasn't too bad. A little nausea and fatigue. I did feel like my food stuck in my throat, and every time I burped, there it was. As I continued to take it each week, the side effects got worse. I was just diagnosed with diabetes in May, and since then, I've been able to come off of my insulin on my own, before Ozempic. I still take Metformin twice a day. This past week, the seventh dose made me so sick! If I wasn't nauseous every day, I was running to the bathroom at all hours of the day and night. I had horrible heartburn, gas, burping, jitters, and dizziness the whole time and thought I could continue, but after this past week, my doctor said to come off of it. It will take a while to get out of my system, I know, but I hope it does so quickly. I need my life back!!"

"For weight loss. I started .25 injection Ozempic for weight loss as I was kind of stuck losing weight. It works great for weight loss, and I absolutely have no cravings at all and don't like to eat any food. However, I feel nauseous, and I have low energy, which is not a great feeling as I am usually very active and energetic. I will give it a longer try as it works for me losing weight, as I already lost 4 pounds. Mind you, before I started, I was on a higher fiber diet. Time will tell, I just don't like the way I feel."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started Ozempic a month ago. I had a bit of diarrhea with the first two injections. Now it is just the headache and fatigue feeling. I haven't noticed any changes in appetite. I had been losing weight for three months prior to starting Ozempic. I was down 42 pounds, since starting, I'm up six pounds. I haven't noticed any difference in my blood sugar numbers. Not impressed so far."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic for about 6 months now, and I've had the absolute worst gastro issues. I didn't notice it much at first, and when I went to my doctor a few months ago, he said it was just my IBS, but after reading these comments, I firmly believe it's the medicine. I have terrible diarrhea. I go at least 8 times a day, and that's no exaggeration. Awful stomach cramps, and I can't even pass gas anymore, literally, I shart. I'm weak and low energy. I've lost 20 lbs, but it's because I'm pooping it away. It helps curb my appetite, and my sugar is good and my A1C is down, but I can't continue this medication. It's truly affected my daily life. I can't go out anywhere that doesn't have a bathroom because when diarrhea hits, I have to go right then. So embarrassing. I'm hoping it's not caused any other issues! Just diet, people, don't take this medicine."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I had my first Ozempic 1mg shot on Monday for weight loss. My appetite is well under control. I am experiencing fatigue, especially after eating, requiring me to take a couple of naps a day. I hope my body adjusts to it. I am still able to function and am actually going to the gym every day and eating about 1000 calories per day. My goal is to lose about 35 pounds and then hope to be able to maintain my weight on diet and exercise alone."

"Everyone is different. I really wanted it to work for me, but I cannot tolerate it. At first, I thought it was magic, it took away all food cravings, and I could no longer eat large meals. I tried to stay hydrated and eat a high-protein diet, but I still felt very fatigued. I also experienced low blood sugar and would have to force myself to eat to make the shakes go away. Even my favorite foods no longer taste good, and I have felt depressed. I cannot wait for it to clear my system. Just know some can tolerate the side effects, and some cannot."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started with a 0.25mg dose once a week. I am on week 3 of taking it and already noticed a decrease in appetite and sporadic increase in feelings of nausea. I also have noticed that I get full quicker resulting in eating less. Bowel movements are no longer consistent and can vary in type. I have noticed that I have moments where I have no energy. In order to try and improve this, I have been drinking a little orange juice. I continue to drink a lot of water since I also take Jardiance, which will dehydrate you if one doesn't drink enough."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Ozempic for 6 months. My A1C was 10, it is now 6.9. I thought it would be lower after 6 months. I have lost 45 lbs. because it killed my appetite, so some days I don’t eat at all. Side effects: diarrhea after eating, nausea, fatigue, just feeling blah."

For Type 2 Diabetes "On the plus side, Ozempic quickly began to lower my blood sugar, which metformin alone was no longer able to do, despite exercise & diet control, so that I was back into more normal numbers. I still take metformin. I had some constipation, but worked through that issue & mild nausea also appeared, but then disappeared. My overeating for stress & or boredom was much easier to manage, I thought about eating poor choices & then was able to push the thought away. The biggest challenge was fatigue, I often am feeling very sluggish & sleepy & have to push through chores like grocery shopping. I’ve lost 5 lbs in 2 months & want to lose 15 more lbs to achieve my goal, so I hope the fatigued side effect will diminish. Easy to learn how to administer from the instructions. I’m on 0.5 dosage & believe I will increase to 1 dosage within the month."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am a 68-year-old male with Type 2 diabetes. I tried Ozempic .025 low dose, to also lose weight. Have been on it for 5 weeks and have had an upset stomach and constipation since the beginning. Only lost 6 lbs. To me, the side effects of always feeling sick and not hungry, which for me led to tiredness and fatigue, even though I take vitamins, is definitely not worth it. Blood sugar went down below 100 for the first 3 weeks but has gone back to upper normal, 140-150 since then. Not worth it to feel sick all the time. I am quitting this stuff."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have had terrible side effects from this medication. My legs have swollen to the point of impaired walking, trouble raising either leg to use the shower/tub, and am unable to stand for very long. Shortness of breath, difficulty retaining breath, higher blood pressure, and general fatigue. As for benefits, I really have not noticed any as yet, been too busy coping with the new problems."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on Ozempic 0.25 mg since last March. Had a lot of stomach problems for the first 3 months and stopped for a month to calm my stomach. Lost 16 pounds in the beginning, but that has come to a standstill. I have noticed, besides stomach issues, mood swings, mild depression I didn't have prior, fatigue, and still ongoing stomach issues. I will probably stop. While it notes there are cardiology benefits, for me, it's just not worth the side effects. My advice is to make sure you keep in touch with your doctor and tell them how you are feeling."

"I underwent lap band surgery several years ago and am currently taking Ozempic. If given the option, I recommend choosing Ozempic over lap band surgery due to their similar side effects. However, if it is possible to manage diabetes and weight with an alternative medication, I suggest doing so. It's important to administer the injection in the thigh, as other injection sites tend to cause worse side effects. The side effects of Ozempic are persistent and severe, and unfortunately, they are unpredictable. One week you may experience minimal side effects, while the next week, at the same dosage, the side effects may be so severe that you will need to miss work. Ozempic causes extreme fatigue, unlike any other fatigue I have experienced. My eyes struggle to stay open. Additionally, I have suffered from intense constipation for two weeks with minimal relief from laxatives, followed by a few days of uncontrollable diarrhea and acid reflux. I no longer enjoy food; it no longer tastes good, and fruit or tea is no longer refreshing or soothing. I believe there must be a balance between enjoying food and weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am 70, and I have been using Ozempic for over 5 months. After having horrible nausea, things have gotten better. I have to use samples as the cost is greater than I can afford. Now, my joints are paining, reflux, and low energy. My A1c is better, and I have lost a little weight."
