For Type 2 Diabetes "First 4 weeks I injected 0.25 mg units once a week. Second 2 weeks I injected 0.50 mg units once a week. I have lost 7 lbs. I am injecting 40% less insulin. My A1c has reduced from 7.0 to 6.6. This all sounds great, but the adverse side effects have me on the verge of stopping my use of Ozempic permanently. I have experienced confusion, dizziness, nausea, unusual tiredness, weakness, passing gas, and feeling the need to vomit, these are the most prevalent side effects. The side effects are interfering with my lifestyle too much."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Twelve hours after I was injected with 1 mg Ozempic, I had severe headaches and vomited for almost four days. No matter what I eat, I feel dizzy and have a bad taste in my mouth. I ate soft and nonfat foods, but still, the vomiting continued. I never had constipation or diarrhea."

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor started me on 0.25 mg about 4 weeks ago for my diabetes. My first week, there were no symptoms, my second week, I started feeling nauseous all the time, dizzy, headache. I’m now sick every day. I try to eat, I get very hungry but am not able to eat more than a few bites without wanting or needing to vomit. I shake all the time from my sugar levels dropping so low. It seems like I’m always hypoglycemic but not able to stop it! Some days I don’t even want to get out of bed, I’m so sick! THIS IS THE WORST MEDICINE I’VE EVER TAKEN!! It seems to be good for some people, but certainly not for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Ozempic at 0.025 mg for two months, primarily relying on meal replacements for diabetes twice a day along with a small amount of cereal (Grape Nuts). During those two months, I lost 30 pounds. However, I experienced dizzy spells because I was also taking high blood pressure medication. Once I stopped the blood pressure medication, the dizziness went away. I then increased my Ozempic dosage to 0.050 mg, and that's when things took a turn for the worse. I started having sulfur burps (long and frequent belching), excessive gas, diarrhea, and if I overate cereal, I would vomit. Even if I didn't eat anything, I would still experience vomiting. I lowered the insulin dosage, and it improved. After a month, I was able to handle the 0.050 mg dosage. Later, I increased it to 1 mg. At this point, I wasn't losing weight anymore, but I experienced hunger pains and started eating other things. On and off, I would have episodes of diarrhea, belching, and gas. Additionally, I started experiencing pain under both sides of my ribs, bloating, belching, diarrhea, and gas. I had blood work done, which revealed that my thyroid levels were significantly off. I am scheduled for an ultrasound to examine my thyroid, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and GI tract, among others."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Ozempic 3 months ago. I immediately had nausea, a shaky feeling, tinnitus, lightheadedness, and vision issues, which got worse each time the dosage was increased. I only managed to tolerate the higher 1 mg dose for 3 weeks before I ended up in the emergency dept with pancreatitis. My consultant stopped the medication, and 3 weeks later I’m slowly getting better. But I continue to have gastric issues and dizziness. You really need to be careful with this drug and weigh up the risks. It took a heavy toll on my health with moderate, slow weight loss. Tighter control and patient monitoring should be compulsory with this drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Ozempic is definitely helpful in lowering my A1C, and for that, I am very grateful. I have struggled with type 2 diabetes for over thirty years. However, I am enduring dizziness, mild nausea, tiredness, and a general feeling of being unwell. In the days of my elevated sugar count, I actually felt well, without any of these symptoms. I am experimenting with the dosage of Ozempic and intend to cut back to the 0.5 mg dose next week. I just can't handle the 1 mg."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started on 0.25 for four weeks, had nausea, dizziness, burping nonstop every day, off-the-wall gas, and bloating. Went on 0.5, more or less the same side effects except more abdominal pain. Then went to 1 mg, my skin started feeling like I had a bad sunburn from the waist up. It hurt when clothes touched it. Four weeks later, went on 2 mg. All same symptoms. Then I started having severe neck pain and shoulder pain. Was on 8 months and only lost 16 pounds. A1c went from 7.5 to 5.5, but a lot had to do with eating less. I have EPI, so it was not worth it to me to take it anymore. Also, thyroid cancer runs in my family. Had a friend tell me her friend got thyroid cancer after 3 months, also had a lot of diarrhea. Now I'm off, no symptoms, skin feels better, and sugar around 130."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Sick in the stomach, pain in the stomach, and dizziness! Worse as the dosage goes up. I am at 1 mg and have been sick all week! Extremely tired and want to sleep all the time! Have lost weight 15 lbs. always good. No appetite; nothing sounds good! I eat to relieve the pain in my stomach! Does not last! Easy to use! Such a tiny needle!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have taken a smaller dose than prescribed (0.25) and anticipate increasing it if I tolerate it well. So far in my first week, I have felt some nausea, weakness, and dizziness. I plan on cutting back on food intake, in particular, my carbs, and will also increase my exercise routine to include walking or jogging for 60 minutes daily."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Started at 0.125. The first two weeks, I experienced dizziness and nausea. My nausea was mainly at night, I would dream about being sick. I was slightly less motivated than normal. I'm normally a healthy eater, but eat big portions. Not sure if it was the nausea, but I find myself eating slightly less healthy but smaller portions (for example, I used to eat big salads, and that sounds gross to me, so I might eat a small portion of pasta/bread, etc. I have lost 6 pounds in almost 4 weeks, but I am on the smaller side. I am not sure if it is related or not, but I have experienced more frequent headaches since beginning, and I have also experienced more side effects from alcohol (normally, I can have a few glasses of wine without a hangover, but I feel slightly hungover if I have more than one drink). I am excited to continue, and I would recommend trying! Just know the nausea does stop!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "My doctor told me about a wonder drug called Ozempic. I am on the first dose, 0.25 mg. The first day had eye problems, stomach aches, dizziness, etc. The next day, I was not happy: eye problems, chest pain, cannot concentrate, afraid to drive my car. I will try all four doses, if problems remain, I will stop it."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been using Ozempic for 2.5 months and suffered a lot from the first day I started using it. It was kind of okay, let's say it with side effects with 0.25 and 0.5, but when I got to 1 ml, I felt horrible. Dizzy, stomach aches, vomiting, horrific. And I lost maybe 1.5 kg in 2.5 months, so in my opinion, not worth it. I am going to go back on my meds for diabetes, eat healthier, and go back to the gym. A healthy way to lose weight and to feel like a human being and not sick in my stomach every single day."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took one injection of 1 mg as prescribed. I have been sick for a week with severe constipation, nausea, dizziness, stomach upset/pain, acidity, gas bloating. I could not eat or sleep comfortably at night. This is very strong and mainly suppresses the appetite. I never had this much sickness from a drug."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Took a few weeks for results to show. Started at 270, and at 247, I started getting diarrhea, bloated, cramps, blurry-eyed, dizzy, fainted, low blood sugar. I had to quit to test if this was the Ozempic or one of my many other medical issues."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Coupled with continuous glucose meter, improved A1c down to 5.8 and lost some weight. Have experienced some apparently common moderate side effects including intermittent nausea, bloating, gas, heartburn, constipation/diarrhea, dizziness. So far, benefits outweigh bothersome discomfort. Easy to use weekly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I am only on week 2, so I am going to give it a shot, even though I am experiencing some side effects. I am a DMII with an A1C of 11.0. I have experienced a lot of dizziness, (I have BP issues as well), feeling bloated, diarrhea, and blurry vision. I can only hope these effects go away with time, as I really want to be on this medication for DM and weight loss."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’m 55. I was on Metformin 500 mg twice a day for 1 year. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This medication was making me sick, my sugar was not stable even though I was very careful about what I ate. I was feeling tired, body aches. I explained to my endocrinologist, she suggested I should stop right away. I was on Junivia 100 mg once a day, very same family as Ozempic. It cost the same, I lost 10 lbs. Then I switched to Ozempic injection 0.25 for a month, after 0.50. I didn’t feel any side effects, my body aches and tiredness were gone. But when I started 1 mg Ozempic injection once a week, it changed everything. I started to feel very tired, acid reflux, I felt extremely tired, no energy, dizziness. But now I’m thinking of talking to my endocrinologist and stopping after 3 months of use. My diabetic level is always stable at 6.2, 5.4, but I don’t like to feel very tired all the time. I hope my experience will help someone. But Metformin is not suitable for me."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This medication started off okay for the first week, then all hell broke loose. Stomach pains, stomach bloating, a feeling of nausea but cannot bring up, dizziness, and a feeling of severe unwellness. Finally admitted to the hospital where a blood sugar doctor stopped the use immediately and put me on to tablets."
