"I really wanted to lose weight, BMI 28, age 60. There is no history of type 2 diabetes. Used the drug on my own, started the course in March 2022 at 0.25 for 4 weeks, then increased to 0.5 for 8 weeks, and finally switched to a dose of 0.75. I did not increase the dose further after 4 months. Experienced a panic attack with a pulse of 187. Took a break for a month and then started with a dose of 0.15. Continued using it as a maintenance dose for 11 months. Experienced very little nausea. Lost 25 kg in a year, resulting in a BMI of 19. Side effects include nausea, fatigue, apathy, and dizziness. I stopped taking Ozempic in June 2023 because a Holter monitor showed episodes of atrial fibrillation. I believe these episodes were associated with Ozempic, and my cardiologist also does not rule out the possibility that the panic attacks were indirectly caused by the effects of Ozempic on the sympathetic nervous system. My face appears to have aged significantly, making me look older than my actual age by 10 years."

"One month in at 0.25, down 7 lbs from 276. Side effects are very mild: acidic stomach and mild constipation. I've read that 0.25 isn't a clinical dose, but it seems to be working. I do feel cravings at times, but I also find it easy to decide not to act on it."

"I have been taking it for over a month. No side effects for the first 2 weeks on the lower dose. Since I am using the higher dose now - I have had some very bad nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Also, lots of burping, and it smells terrible. When I have vomited - it is so much volume. More than any time in my life. It has reduced my appetite, but if I drink alcohol, it usually makes me physically sick."

"I just started on May 1st at 0.25 mg, and so far, there has been no change in my weight. I'm still in the same range I was before starting (i.e., 245-250 lbs). I still feel hungry during certain periods of the day. I try to eat fruit, etc. It may be early, so I am hoping the next dosage or the one after will help with the hunger. I have changed my diet and eat a plant-based diet with a lot of fiber."

"Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my use of Ozempic. While taking it, I experienced some side effects such as unpleasant burps, occasional diarrhea (1-2 times per week), and temporary gastroparesis (which subsided after two months). However, the medication also had some positive effects, as my appetite decreased, and I lost 60 pounds since beginning the treatment. Unfortunately, it did take a toll on my wallet, and I eventually had to switch from my hospital/GP to getting it online by telehealth from Semalean. My son has also started taking it, and I would recommend it to anyone who is curious, but only if they are willing to see if the side effects apply to them. If they do not, and the treatment is affordable or covered by insurance, it can be truly amazing."

"I've been on Ozempic for 4 months. Recently raised my dose to 0.75 mg, but I am stopping this medication. Yes, I lost 15 lbs, but suffered with the worst sulfur gas, was sick in bed at times, missing appointments because I felt that way. Yes, it makes you eat way less, I was never hungry but made myself eat because I had to. It gave me constipation, so I had to take stool softeners and increase fiber. Now that I stopped, I get diarrhea two days later. This medication sucks for me anyway... and from the sounds of it, many other people also. Beware!"

"Initially, taking the low dose of 0.25mg, my only side effect was constipation. After 4 weeks, I chose to continue on the same dose, rather than increasing to 0.5. Unfortunately, I experienced severe diarrhea and after two weeks decided to stop. On a positive note, I did notice a slight weight loss and if not for the diarrhea, I definitely would like to have continued."

"I took my 4th shot today. I haven't had any side effects as far as I can tell, most of them I have anyway due to IBS and GERD. This evening, I started with diarrhea. How do I know if it's from IBS or a side effect? If it is a side effect, about how long will it be before it's over? I've been staying away from sweets because they don't taste good, however, I broke down and ate a cupcake and within an hour or a little more, the diarrhea started. For the time I've been on it, I've lost 8 lbs."

"I tested borderline diabetic and am overweight, so I was prescribed .5 mg Ozempic once per week. I started it six weeks ago and have lost about 3% of my body weight. I have been eating less and more healthfully, but haven't been as active as I'd like. Right within 12 hours of my first dose, I felt nauseous, tired, and just plain sick. Constipated. I was hoping the side effects would go away, they haven't. I can pretty much write off the two days after a dose because I feel so ill and very tired. It has taught me not to eat too late before bed because I get severe reflux and usually make myself vomit. I wish it worked, but for me, I think it's a no. I'm weaning myself off, injecting .25 mg until I've used all the Ozempic."

"Works GREAT for weight loss, especially for binge eaters; has completely curbed my sugar cravings. But it definitely comes at a cost, especially as the dosage increases. The most consistent symptom throughout my 5 months on Ozempic has been severe constipation. The inability to down lots of water like I used to has only added to the constipation. Nausea has also been prevalent from early on but reached the point of unbearable after a few weeks on 2 mg. I started throwing up daily around that time as well, which was when the costs started outweighing the benefits. It’s an easy product to use and doesn’t hurt at all (surprisingly). Just know that for some, there are some pretty intense negative side effects."

"Excellent medication for weight loss. A game changer. But the price is ridiculous! And insurance companies are reluctant to pay for this medication. Plus, it has disappeared from many drug stores. So hopefully, next year all of this will be addressed."

"17 kg weight loss in 4 months (about 16% of my total weight). I am not diabetic. Pulse rate down about 12%. Blood pressure down about 10 to 15%. Oxygen sat up from high 80s to low 90s. Overall great health improvements."

"It helped a lot for 1 year until my paid year ran out through RX of OK. The doctor forgot to fill out paperwork, and I ended up going without it for a little over 3 months. It didn't seem to work as well once I started back up again. But in that first year, I lost 65 lbs. The Ozempic made me nauseous fairly often, so I had the doctor write me Zofran as well. The only other problem I have is stomach pain."

"Very mediocre for weight loss. Was on a very decent caloric deficit and doing lots of cardio, eating super clean, lost weight but nothing to write home about. Many better options out there. Retatrutide is the absolute best when it comes to fat/weight loss, hands down. Even then, I had a better experience with Sibutramine, phentermine, D-norpseudoephedrine, clenbuterol, yohimbine compared to Ozempic."

"Great in suppressing my appetite but I am slightly to moderately nauseous a great deal of the time and have a lot of burping. I may have to stop taking it but first I will take it only every 10 or 14 days and see if that helps."

"These are symptoms that are so weird I hesitate to mention them, and I can't say for sure that they are associated with Ozempic. After one dose (at 1/4), I experienced increased low back pain (I already have lumbar stenosis with pain). I also had sudden pain in my left second toe where it connected to my foot (last night, starting close to 12:00 p.m.). It occurred every 7-9 seconds and felt like someone was hitting me hard there with a sharp pointed hammer (why just there?). I was awake with this until approximately 4:30 a.m. It is now 9:30 a.m., and I am still experiencing a less painful version of this and more variable (approximately every 15 mins.). I am not obese. I only wanted to lose 15 pounds of resistant belly fat."

"It took the first month before I noticed any weight loss at all. I was getting very discouraged, but then I began to lose about a pound a week. It does make me nauseated after my shot for a couple of days. My wellness checkup this past month showed how much my rates have improved from taking the shots and cutting down on my food intake."

"So far, so good. Six weeks on. Constipation's been an issue. Definitely has cut my appetite down, and I lost my taste for my weekend beer and have a glass of wine or two. Everything else has been fun. Little fatigue I’ve noticed, but hopefully I continue to lose weight."

"Nausea and diarrhea for 4 days, so I couldn't eat a lot the first 4 days and lost 6 lb in 3 weeks. I would love to be able to afford it each month. My doctor gave me a free sample for a month to see how I did on it, but my insurance won't pay for it, and the heart doctor told me that I had to lose weight. 2 years ago, I had a heart attack and had double bypass surgery."

"I’m a 61-year-old female who has gained weight over the years. Not obese, and my BMI was 26, but prediabetic with high cholesterol. Need to lose about 20 lbs, and I think my body would function better and I’d be healthier. Have tried everything and can’t lose. So turned to this. Took for 2 months and only lost 3 pounds!!! It might help some people, but I think it’s more hype than what’s being advertised."

"I have been on Ozempic for about 3 months. Started at 0.25, then went to 0.5, then went to 1.00 2 weeks ago. Had some minor side effects (a little stomach upset, fatigue) with the lower doses, but just this past week, I have started severe diarrhea. I literally can't keep anything in my system. It is working okay... I have lost almost 15 pounds, but I am going to adjust the dosage down if the diarrhea doesn't stop. I also have had a huge increase in burping, which is manageable. Overall, I have positive things to say about this medication, but I think that dosing is pretty specific to the person and should be discussed with your primary doctor if severe side effects continue."

"I have type two diabetes but really need weight loss! I lost fifty pounds on my own then gained it back, weighing 254 when I first started taking Ozempic at .5. I went to the doctor's office today and I lost ten pounds. It’s been a month to about two. I was shocked because I have been eating a bit and a lot of cheese; imagine if I curbed my appetite. I went up to 1 today and she said in three months at the next appointment I got, she’ll up it to the highest two. I said awesome. I really haven’t had any side effects. At times it does seem to want to curb appetite though I still eat. So I got to work on my portion size and put less stuff in me. I recommend!"

"I have PCOS, along with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I've been taking Ozempic, starting with the lowest dose to currently the 1 mg dose for about 3 months now. I have noticed a very significant drop in my libido/sex drive. I have no qualms about trying to achieve an orgasm solo, but I can't even achieve a full climax that way or with my husband, and believe me, I take the time and effort, as well as my husband. It's been this way ever since I upped my dosage to the first higher dosage. Last week, I didn't have enough in my pen for another dose, so after consulting with my endo, and since my next appointment is within a week, I decided to miss my weekly dose. I'm also taking Metformin, Lexapro, Buspirone, Spironolactone, and Levothyroxine. After cutting out just the Ozempic, this morning I finally achieved a full orgasm with my husband. And my sex drive has returned. This is after being OFF Ozempic for about 7 to 10 days. Also, I actually gained 3-5 lbs while on it."

"I need help to decide if Ozempic is good for me. The side effects scare me: nausea, vomiting, constipation, and exhaustion. Yikes! I really need the weight loss, though. I really want to try it. I'm curious if insurance will cover it."
