"August 2023 - I have lost 42 pounds since January 2023. My dose started at 0.25mg. I am now taking 1mg per week. Currently, I have zero negative side effects. For the first month, I suffered occasionally from an upset stomach or loose stools."

"So far I have lost 75 lbs. That is a 22% weight loss. I have had all of the normal gastrointestinal issues that come with using Ozempic, but I have felt it is worth it. For me, the best thing is I no longer have the 'food noise' in my head. I have spent the last 50 years always hungry even when I had just eaten and physically could eat no more."

"From the initial starting dose until I went up to 1 mg, the whole 6 months was a roller coaster of nausea, headaches, and uncontrollable vomiting. The nausea was always followed by throwing up 5-7 times per day. If I ate or drank anything with too much sugar (including fresh orange juice), then I would throw it up within 30 mins. The sulfate mouth smell, along with the vomiting, was difficult and embarrassing. Exhausted and tired feeling, along with feeling depressed and hating/disgusted by food, is how I felt. I did lose about 8 kgs before moving on to Saxenda. Get ready for Ozempic to destroy your life for a few months if you want to lose weight with it."

"I'm 30 years old, female, and I'm terribly overweight. I have PCOS, type 2 diabetes, and an underactive thyroid. So I have several things working against me that don't allow me to lose weight as easily as others. I started my first injection of Ozempic 0.5 mg last Wednesday. So far, it's not allowed me to eat too much, it also makes me sick when I eat something I'm not supposed to. Like yesterday, I thought I would have a small cone with my mother for Mother's Day, and last night I was up all night with acid reflux, a burping egg smell, and I had gas. My stomach was hurting so bad I wanted to cry. I finally used the bathroom this morning, I hadn't gone in 4 or 5 days. But I'm not going to quit, I have faith it will help me lose the weight I need to. We've been trying to have a child for 2 years with no luck. I'll update again here once I get more knowledge on this, but no, you can't eat like you could before."

"I started taking this one week ago and just took the second dose of 0.25 mg. I have lost 2 kilos. I have had no interest in food like I previously had. I am experiencing some burping, feeling a little hypo, and had some reflux in the first week. My doctor told me if 0.25 mg works, they won’t increase the dosage."

"Just a word of caution for those taking medication for high blood pressure. One day after starting Ozempic, I noticed my blood pressure and heart rate were increasing significantly. A Google search indicated Ozempic can potentially interfere with the absorption and effectiveness of some oral medications. I was taking the beta blocker Atenolol for my high blood pressure. I think the Ozempic was somehow partially or completely blocking its absorption and therefore allowing my blood pressure to increase. There's always the possibility this was a coincidence and there were other factors besides the Ozempic involved, but I believe it was probably the Ozempic causing the problem with my high blood pressure. Before starting Ozempic, I would suggest talking to your doctor and ask about perhaps a dosage or timing adjustment with Ozempic and your medications, or if the doctor even thinks you should try Ozempic."

"I have been using Ozempic for two months now. I use it for weight loss. My starting weight was 240 lbs, and now I’m at 223 lbs, which makes me extremely happy, but I do make myself eat better. I have always loved sweets, so I have cut that out and no soda. It’s been easier doing that than I had anticipated. The hard part for me is the nausea, it’s been horrible since day one. It comes and goes every day, and I feel nauseated about three times a day but never actually vomit. Now, one thing that is hard for me is getting up early in the mornings for work. It’s been challenging this whole time. It hasn’t gotten easier either. I am tired literally all the time and have to make myself get up and go. I have started walking almost two miles a day, and the weight seems to be coming off faster now that I am exercising."

"I lost 15 lbs in 2 months, but during the end of my treatment, I discontinued use due to worsening side effects such as: chest tightness, weakness, lethargy, extreme nausea, diarrhea, shortness of breath. I also experienced cotton mouth; however, I am unsure if this was due to this medication, as I had a wisdom tooth removal during this time. My treatment started at 0.25 mg for 4 weeks and then increased to 0.5 mg for weeks 5-8, then increased to 1.0 mg at week 9, which is when the side effects became alarming, and I chose not to increase the dose. At week 10, I did increase to 1.0 mg and decided to stop after, as I chose to listen to my body and not push it. The ease of use was fine as I don't mind needles too much; the sensation was slightly uncomfortable but not painful."

"Started on Ozempic for weight loss. Maybe need to lose 20 lbs. On week 4, zero side effects other than basically not being hungry and zero cravings for any sugar. Haven't stepped on the scale but feel better and less sluggish, my stomach is flatter. All good things!"

"Sulfur burps (like eggs), terrible gas, confusion, diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea. Anxiety led to severe panic attacks. I did lose weight, but its side effects are not worth it. It caused me food aversion. Eating and drinking became a chore. My dose was increased each week by 0.25 mg."

"I am on week 6 of dosing for weight loss and borderline risk for type 2 diabetes. I just started the 0.5 mg dose last week, and I always have a little nausea and tired feelings for the first day or two of the week after the injection. So far, no serious issues at all. I don’t crave junk food and only eat 1/3 of what I used to since I stay full longer. It’s nice, lol."

"I have been on Ozempic since December 22 with a prescription from doctor. My goal was to lose 25 lbs from 165 lbs. I originally was down from 225 lbs and slowly lost it on my own. I also had well-controlled type 2 diabetes. My first month on 0.25 I had some gastro issues, but nothing major. I was losing the weight slowly but steadily. I continued to increase my dosage up to 2mg over 5 months. I also have Multiple Sclerosis and have no idea what is causing this worsening of shortness of breath and dizziness upon standing. Long story short, I finally hit 142 lbs, 2 lbs short of my goal, and the Ozempic plateaus. For about 3 weeks I didn’t lose anything, but today lost a lb. I have 1.6 lbs to goal. I am both scared to go off the Ozempic, and glad to at the same time. My last diabetes A1C was 4.9, the lowest in my life and I was thrilled! I don’t want it to go up, but I can’t live on this forever."

"After the third week of the 0.25 mg dose, I experienced hypotension. My blood pressure dropped to 94/60, and I contacted my doctor, who said that Ozempic did not directly cause this drop in BP. I was taking valsartan/HCTZ and amlodipine for hypertension, and he said the drop in BP was most likely caused by my 17-pound weight loss. I am in the medical field, and I know this to not be the case, as this would not drop my BP that much that fast. He told me to quit taking my amlodipine, which I did. My BP is slowly creeping back up to normal. Today it was 116/84. I still feel like garbage, and I am not sure whether it is the Ozempic causing this feeling or my menopause. I am not sure I want to continue the Ozempic if it will continue to make me feel like crap."

"I have been using Ozempic for 6 weeks now and have been sick ever since. I do nothing now, I feel so bad. I am weak, and I cannot eat. I will be stopping. My breathing is bad too. I lost weight, of course, because I cannot eat. Not good for me."

"I have had pretty much all the side effects possible. I have missed four days of work because I can’t leave my bathroom. I can’t keep anything in my stomach without it hurting, and the diarrhea will not stop. I’m getting dehydrated, but if I drink, it goes right through me. I have a family to look after, and I can’t. All I want to do is sleep. I don’t think I will be taking my second injection."

"Started taking Ozempic in October 2022 for weight loss. Started with 0.5 mg for one month and then increased it to 1 mg. For the first few months, the only side effects were constipation and loss of appetite. However, after a couple of months, I started getting abdominal pains in the upper right quadrant that extended to my back, between my shoulders. The pains would manifest a day or two after the shots and last several hours. It was worse during standing or walking and not a problem when sitting. At the same time, the effectiveness of the drug for weight loss was reduced, and I stopped losing weight. With the combination of the side effects and the lack of weight loss, I started reducing the dosage. I went from 1 mg to 0.75 to 0.5 mg. The side effects continued but were reduced in intensity and duration. Eventually, I stopped taking Ozempic in April 2023. After two weeks without the drug, the abdominal pain is almost gone. Total weight loss was 50 lbs."

"Made me feel nauseous. Didn’t want to eat at all but was never physically sick. The worst side effect for me was depression. I would have mild anxiety, and this drug made it a lot worse and made my mood very low. But I can see how good it is for weight loss. I just couldn’t stick to feeling so low in my mood."

"I just started Ozempic last week, May 16th. Took my second dose today. I am on a .25 mg dose. I am female, age 60, and my thyroid stopped working 3 years ago. 5'6" tall. My start weight was 210 lbs. One week weigh-in, I am 206.5 lbs. I noticed the day after I took the injection my appetite was gone. I am a vegetarian, but I eat bread, and that has been my downfall. I now have a hard time eating much, so I eat small meals. I exercise minimally, as I had a knee replacement just 2 months ago. So I am slowly building a routine. I do a recumbent bike and elliptical. Just 6 minutes on the bike and 10 on the elliptical. I walk around my yard, but I have to be careful I do not fall because of my knee. I am very happy I started this process, as I was borderline diabetic and had high cholesterol. It works if you put effort into watching what you eat. I do keep a daily journal on what food I eat."

"I took the plunge, and so far, I am very happy. Today was my second injection date, and I have not had any symptoms. I am on 0.25 mg and have lost 2.2 pounds, most of my cravings are gone, and I am very excited to see how this plays out. FYI, after plenty of research, I found that injecting it into your leg, for some reason, works well for preventing side effects. It may be because it does not hit your organs as fast as it would if you inject in your arms or stomach."

"I've been on Ozempic 0.25 mg for 2 weeks now. The first one I injected into my abdomen. I fell asleep and woke up nauseous. I had intermittent nausea, empty burping, and slight constipation for the next few days. I took the homeopathic medicine Nux vomica 200C as needed (dissolve a pellet in 1/2 cup of water and take a small sip, letting it rest under the tongue, stirring 10 times before each dose), and the nausea was much better. Better than taking another drug. I had read that these effects are smaller if you inject into the thigh, so I did that next dose at night and took the Nux vomica before bed. I have had almost zero nausea this week. I have lost 6.5 lbs so far, although I have had some hunger this week. I eat very cleanly – low fat, low carb, protein, and vegetables at each meal. Eat Quest bars if you want something sweet/low carb/high protein and fiber. Also, exercise is key. These are crucial to learning to keep the weight off afterward."

"Just completing week one at the low dose. I did the research after being given the prescription and expected there would be side effects, so planned for it. I bought antacids and Gravol and waited. The injection site is the thigh, and I got a small bruise. I did not feel the injection at all. I had minor side effects on day one, of a headache and feeling queasy. Since then, only some belching if I overeat. It is like my brain suddenly recognizes I have eaten."

"I used this injection that helped give me a great jumpstart to losing weight. The medication did cause 1 bout of diarrhea within 24 hours of injecting it. After that, no issue. After several months of use, the dose had to be increased, which is normal. Great medication for those who, in spite of exercise, struggle to lose weight."

"I've taken Ozempic for about 15 months and have been on 2mg after working my way up as specified over the first 3 months. I've lost 62 pounds so far and my A1C went from 5.9 to 4.6 and oscillates between 4.8 and 5.5 now. I haven't experienced any side effects and find it is just a natural solution to what has been a lifelong weight problem. I'm hoping to lose another 40 pounds and call it a day."

"Positive: I have lost 41 pounds in 4 months and improved A1C. Negative: I have had an episode of the tightening of my chest. It seems that my libido has waned since taking it. I also experience intermittent constipation and diarrhea."

"I started Ozempic for weight loss. I paid cash since I wasn't approved by insurance. I was about 15-20 pounds overweight and pre-diabetic with a family history of type 2 diabetes. No matter what I did, nothing made me lose weight. The first month at .25 mg was a dream come true. I had no appetite and felt very few side effects. I lost 10-12 pounds in the first month. The 5th shot was .5 mg. I became so ill. It started with huge belches and nausea. That night I vomited and was so lethargic and nauseous that I didn't get out of bed for 3 days. I had weird sores on my tongue. The next day I vomited again. I had to get Zofran for the nausea, which helped a bit. Almost a week later, I am due for this week's shot, and I have decided not to continue. I still have the belches from hell, weakness, and lethargy, but I am at least able to function and work. Climbing the stairs feels like Mt. Everest. I hope I feel normal again soon."
