For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been struggling with anxiety and depression my entire life. Over the years, I have done a lot of self-medicating. I finally reached out for help and was prescribed Klonopin. I also tried a number of SSRIs, Buspar, and Wellbutrin. The SSRIs left me feeling entirely flat. Buspar left me borderline suicidal, and Wellbutrin made me feel crazy. After 9 months, I stopped taking Klonopin. At this point, my mental health was the worst it has ever been. I was convinced I was going insane. I had constant visual disturbances, panic attacks, depersonalization, and derealization. I was also horribly depressed and frustrated. I felt like doctors had only made things worse. Eventually, I found a new doctor, and they put me on Pregabalin. Two days in, I caught my reflection in the mirror. I saw a man who was at ease. He was smiling. It was the first time I had seen that guy in years. I honestly believe that this drug saved my life. It has allowed me to live again. Anxiety, GONE. Depression, GONE!"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I suffered severe neck and shoulder pain for over a year. I was depressed and immobile. I was in my late 70's. I went to a pain clinic after waiting 6 months to be seen. The doctor injected me with a nerve blocker. I woke up the next day and was pleasantly surprised that I was pain free after over a year with chronic pain. My doctor then realized my problem was nerve pain and prescribed Lyrica. That was 1 1/2 years ago and I have not looked back. I have been pain free with no side effects and no depression, I am now 82 and I am also going to exercise class twice a week. LYRICA GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK!! Thank you!!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been on this on and off for 4 years now. Originally 300mg daily for 4 months. Gradually dropping down to 100mg a day. I now take as and when I feel a wobble coming on. It has been a life changer for me. It helps calm me down within a hour if anxiety gets bad. My GP suggested using as and when I needed it and I have had no problem with that scenario. I think my body is used to it. I was originally put on antidepressants which sent me loopy. Then a psychiatrist suggested pregabalin. It really helps with sleep and helps me switch off. Getting off this tablet was no problem as it can be dropped in doses of 25mg. I had no problems with it at all. If you have a chance to take it please give it a go. It works really quickly and can be a game changer."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have struggled for years with depression and anxiety.. I also suffer with nerve pain.. I was prescribed gabapentin for this. After having a major meltdown and going to the out of hours doctor and sitting in his office crying and asking him to 'please help me!' He changed my medication to pregabalin as this not only would sort my nerve pain but also help my anxiety.. and oh my god has it!! I cant ever remember feeling this good! Anxiety..what anxiety!! Its so fast working too I was amazed..I wish I had been prescribed this years ago.. and side effects.. I have put on weight but I'm so much happier I dont care! And a dry mouth..I can live with that. I am in the UK"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2005 and looking back am sure that I was suffering symptoms of Fibromyalgia as a child. I have been diagnosed with dysthymia and have had a couple of major depressive disorders - chronic back pain which I asked for more review of for over 10 years and finally got a doctor to take an x-ray and have levoscoliosis and arthritis in my spine. I have taken multiple drugs sometimes 3 at a time and have tried everything - just got off Cymbalta, gabapentin. I could NOT go for walks without taking Vicodin and 800 Motrin. I was tired ALL the time AND unable to sleep. Then my dr. gives me Lyrica and now at 60 I am FINALLY able to live my life with just taking Motrin to help with my walks. I have energy - I sleep at night. I am NOT depressed all the time. This is huge. If you are considering trying this option. I recommend it."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I have stage 5 neuropathy in my feet, with the usual needle pain and numbness and even worse electrical shocks . I am not diabetic and they checked me for lead and mercury so they have no idea what is causing my neuropathic pain but it has ruined my life. I tried a variety of medications even medical marijuana to no avail. I also tried K-lasers and neurogenic electrical current machines which seemed to aggravate my condition. I even tried a spinal block that didn´t help one percent. Lyrica reduced my pain about 30 % ,I was taking 100 mg three times a day but I was a total wreck,I walked around like a zombie, sluggish , very confused and depressed and I swelled up like a beach ball gaining 25 pound in under 3 months !!! My vision would blur up and I had trouble doing routine tasks.blurred vision ."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I had experienced some major stressors over the last 2-3 months. My anxiety level was started to get out of control and I was in a manic like state. I asked the emergicare clinic for 75mg pregabalin 2x day. Picked up the prescription the next morning, took one 75 mg pill and slept for about 4 hours. When I woke up, my anxiety was GONE. My brain had been a constant buzz for over a month and pregabalin turned off the switch. Physicians need to know about the use of pregabalin for anxiety."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have suffered with anxiety and depression since I was a child I'm now 47 and have tried endless different types of other medicines and now Pregabalin has saved my life. I take 600mg a day it calms me gives me confidence and energy it's a wonder drug as far as I'm concerned."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Been on pregabalin for 2 weeks. Only 50mg twice a day. I suffer from social anxiety. Always in fight or flight mode when around people. As a result this causes me to feel very low. However my experience so far has been very positive. I am feeling so much more relaxed and my anxiety is down to about a 2 when in social situations. My sleep is also better. I do get red eyes in the morning whilst on this med. Small price of such great relief. Life just seems so much easier and I am so much more relaxed. It is early days and I just hope this continues to work for me. Also never wrote up on any site like this. I have tried a lot of the SSRI's. But no good. Best of luck to all trying this med. I share your pain if you are reading these review sites."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Been taking now for over 2 years and it’s honestly been a wonder drug - as I’ve said in previous reviews. I’ve cut down from 300mg to 100mg and it was actually fine, although now my life circumstances have changed and I’m going through a transition, I may take higher doses when needed and this is fine. I’ve found taking a spiritual path really helpful but equally, an anxiety disorder is something that can be life long and genuinely neurological and genetic. You need to treat the core reasons of why you are anxious but equally medication is sometimes necessary. This medication has always kept me feeling safe and stops me from extreme panic. Anxiety just has no place in my life and this stuff truly keeps it at bay. Weight gain sucks but I’d rather weigh a bit more and have peace of mind."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I’m a 3 time back surgery loser, I have so much nerve pain @ my right lower leg , left hip buttock and most of all the bottom of both feet. Without Lyrica it’s like walking barefoot on gravel. For me it’s a lifesaver. Only side effect that I can notice his constipation."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I've had GAD since I can remember and its ruled my life but since I've been taking Pregabalin it's totally knocked it on the head! Now I'm the happiest person on earth! I've been taking every type of benzo that's out there but NOTHING has touched it like this medication... Some of the side effects are still there but the drunk kinda walking has stopped. I'd much rather have the side effects than have this crippling anxiety that turned me into a hermit for years. I'm taking 75 in the morning and 75 in the evening. I haven't been on it long enough for any kind of weight gain but in saying that I'm quite thin and tall so I wouldn't mind some weight! Wish I found these meds years ago! YEY!!!"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I have IC ( painful Bladder syndrome) I am a 43 year old female (20 years with IC) - it started after my second C section . Constant none stop burning that makes a UTI seem like a holiday. I take Lyrica 300 mg at bed time - nothing has come close to the long lasting relief I get from this drug - but all side effects mentioned by others I have and still experience and these have never gotten any better over the 5 years , but I would take this life any day over not having one at all . I have learned to live with these new minor inconveniences in the side effects to be free of my disabling pain . If you have pain that has taken away most if not all of your quality of life - you may give into certain unpleasant effects of a drug just to have a chance at normal again -Lyrica has given me my life back !Listen to your body and learn from it and with it - be safe, any change that is making you feel uncomfortable or unwell report to your doctor for proper medical advice ."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "The best way to describe how well Lyrica works for me is to say, "I'm young again! I'm a 50 yr old who has suffered with fibromyalgia for many years. Every morning on waking I would just lay in bed dreading the pain and discomfort of something as simple as getting up and out of bed. I was prescribed Cymbalta, Celebrex and Tramadol which help; but nothing works as well as Lyrica. I am able to get more done now without slowing down. Like I said before, I feel years younger. I have read that Lyrica poses an abuse warning, but what I experience isn't really euphoria (High) as one might experience with opiates. I experience relief of pain and maybe "light on my feet" and actually stronger muscles %u2014 but not the euphoria of opiates."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "Taking lyrica for almost 2 weeks now at 50mg 3x per day and have had no change in how much pain I’m in. Doctor prescribed this without even looking at me. The side effects are so intense and there are too many drug interactions that come along with it. I have had the worst brain fog and I forget the most simple words and you lose the ability to speak properly. Always drowsy and dizzy and the feeling of being drunk or high. More pain is also a side effect I seem to have. Definitely would not recommend this drug to anyone."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Pregablin is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m a combat vet - I suffer from PTSD, GAD, & Depression - I’ve tried so many different medications and currently on a combo of Prozac and Pregablin (PG). The antidepressant works wonders and the PG makes life liveable. Like I actually want to go do things and be with people now that I’m not terrified everyday and in fight or flight literally all the time. My feet would get cold - my hands would start to sweat - and my heart would pound in my throat - NO MORE. 150 MGS does the trick and I’ll gladly stay there as long as possible. I used to abuse benzodiazepines because I didn’t understand what was happening in my body and what stress can do to a mind - now I know. Thank God for PG."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I use to operate heavy machinery after 25 I ended up with squashed nerves in s1 -L1 -L2 -L3 -L4 -L5 -T1 and all the rest that goes with it, I had suffered for years and used alcohol ease the pain at night, once I went to get out of the machine and couldn't feel my legs they were numb and as soon as I moved the pain was excruciating I went to the Doctor and the put me on 600mg Lyrica (per 300mg in the morning 300mg at night). I have been on Lyrica for over 10 years now and haven't suffered any side effects , I wouldn't be able to walk around without Lyrica and would be in so much pain, the problem now is the injury has gotten worse and I need something better but I give this a 10 and I stopped drinking alcohol when I started on Lyrica as I didn't need it"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "I've read many opinions on this site most being negative towards this amazing medication. I have suffered from a trapped nerve near my waistband ( hip) and nothing I took or did could stop the pain / burning / tingling numbness from my hip to my knee cap. I declined surgery to remove the nerve and was placed finally on lyrica. I hesitated for 2 months before finally giving in to the medication because of all the negative reviews you read online.First two days i was on lyrica I had a small headache and dry mouth that is about it. after a week the dry mouth went away and I was left virtually pain free within 2 weeks. DON'T read into everything and hesitate to take thismedication.I have not gained a single pound and im pain free. im on 3 x 50mg"

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Pregabalin for me was miraculous. On the first dose (75mg three times a day) my anxiety was reversed. I really thought this was too good to be true. I have tried Prozac and lorazepam at different times of my life. But as is commonly known, after the fourth or fifth trial of SSRIs, they "peter out" and actually become counter productive, even in some cases causing serotonin syndrome. But about two years ago, I was in a very stressful marriage break-up and was taking benzodiazepines to keep the lid on the anxiety, with little effect. The GP respected my wish to try Lyrica. I was and still am, after two years, astounded by this transformation. I feel like I always felt I should feel. A cessation of anxiety and a sense of well being pervades. "

For Pain "I was prescribed 25mg of this for nerve pain I had been struggling with for 8 weeks. I did all my research and looked at side effects/symptom stories. I was quite apprehensive about taking this but couldn't suffer my backpain/nervepain/sciatica any longer. I took 50mg dose of this at night and in the morning the pain was gone. Took one more dose of 50mg the next night. The pain has healed. I had no side effects as read from others. I will not hesitate to use this drug again if needed. Don't take into mind all the stories and symptoms you read. It is worth a try and I am glad I went ahead and used it."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Fibromyalgia "This medication Lyrica is an absolute miracle drug. I've been taking for only 2 weeks however but my fibromyalgia pain that has haunted me for 12 years is absolutely GONE !!!! I'm a little nervous about the weight gain but we shall see I guess."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Lyrica is the best thing that happened to me in 15 years. I have tried nearly every medication on the planet for my severe anxiety and untreatable depression: SSRI's, SNRI's TCA's, MAOi's, Benzos, Ketamine infusions, ECT, CBT and many illegal substances with zero help. I'm on 150mg twice a day and it has literally made me a new human, I feel like when I was teenager, before the depression and anxiety started to ruin my life. I expected it to ease my anxiety somewhat, but what I didn't expect is, that it completely killed it along with the treatment resistant depression, I have no side-effects! Thank you science!"

I felt a bit lightheaded at first but that is decreasing, and a bit sleepy, also decreasing. It's the first time I've actually felt nearly normal in years."

Lyrica (pregabalin) for Neuropathic Pain "After taking gabapentin for many years it no longer worked.I agreed to go on Lyrica because it's now available as a generic. After only 2 weeks I had to stop. I'm a 65 yo female with controlled hypertension. This medicine raised my blood pressure higher than it has ever been! I developed a constant rage I have never experienced, to the point where I suffered what doctors thought was an "eye stroke". My blood pressure medication had to be quadrupled! After seeing 3 specialists & several tests, they concluded it was not an eye stroke but could not offer an explanation.I have been off the Pregablin for 2 weeks now and my BP is better but not stable. I am not a doctor & I understand how desperate chronic pain sufferers can be. I just suggest caution & educating a family member on the side effects. Side effects are not a problem for everyone, so you may have good luck. I also urge anyone who does experience side effects to go to the FDA website and let them know."
