For GERD "Went to ENT, had the scope done as there was redness. Said I should see a gastroenterologist. Pointless, no exam, only questions. Acid reflux prescribed Omeprazole 20 mg daily. Took it for nine weeks, then got side effects of legs, pins and needles, shortness of breath walking upstairs, hot flashes, blurred vision, dizzy, and lightheaded. Stopped 10 days ago. Most symptoms are gone. I have osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, made it clear to the doctor, and he said it's such a low dose I wouldn't worry about it. Going to keep exercising, and in another few weeks I'll be good as new. Talk to a nutritionist, do anything you can, stay off of this stuff."

Omeprazole for GERD "It worked well to eliminate reflux symptoms, but forced to discontinue use as made me too dizzy, lightheaded, and sometimes nauseous. To the point of not feeling comfortable enough to drive."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I was given omeprazole and metronidazole and clarithromycin. I was told to take the two together and leave a 2-hour gap to take omeprazole. I have never been so bad in my life. I have dizziness, weakness, body aches, and tremors. I rang 111, they told me to stop the antibiotics and to phone the GP on Monday to get a different course of antibiotics because I got Helicobacter. I only found out Friday what was wrong with me after suffering with stomach pains for a while and loss of appetite. Felt sick for the GP to tell me I have IBS. But then to find out I have Helicobacter, I am worried to stop taking the antibiotic as I don’t want the infection getting worse, even though 111 told me to stop. I’m a little concerned about what to do. But whoever has had this, I agree it’s a horrible combination."
