"I'm taking this pill for a different reason than most. I'm transgender (FTM), and I use it to stop my period while waiting to start HRT. I'm on 5 mg, and it works great. I have heavy periods with intense cramps that leave me writhing on the floor in pain. It took 3 months for my period to fully stop, but each month was lighter than the last, and I didn't have any debilitating cramps. I occasionally get cramps with no bleeding, but I mentioned it to my doctor, and she said it's nothing to worry about, seeing as I'm on a lower dose. My body still has a monthly hormone cycle, I just don't bleed. If you're looking for relief from all period symptoms, this may not be for you. For this nature of medication, everyone is very different. My experience is not what everybody else will experience."
