For Chronic Pain "I was taking upwards of 10-10/325 Percocets a day and still having knee pain that would prevent me from getting up in the morning. I suffer from chronic patella dislocation among several other knee issues. Taking 60 mg MS Contin 3 times a day is a godsend. I'm down to 2-3 Percocets for the breakthrough pain, but the MS Contin has helped me get through the day and be able to play with my son. I thank my doctor and pharmacist every month."

For Pain "I have been on MS Contin for about 6 months now, and I use it as my primary pain medicine. It has helped me more than any other pain medicine that the doctor has tried on me. As I have already stated, it is my primary pain medicine, taken every 12 hours. I also take oxycodone 30 mg, 4 times a day for the breakthrough pain."

For Pain "I was put on 45 mg of this drug a couple of weeks ago, and all is going well. I was given Norco 10/325 to help with the breakthrough pain. The morphine combined with Norco is hard for me to take together. I am taking 15 mg every 8 hours, and it seems to be doing the job. There are times I feel fine when the 8 hours is up, but it says not to miss a dose."

For Pain "I took MS Contin 12 mg/day for a medical condition, which has since been resolved. When I ran out, I decided (against the advice of my pharmacist) to quit cold turkey. Symptoms were worst on day 5 of withdrawal: knee pains, nausea, hot flushes, severe insomnia, malaise, and have now (day 9) gone down to just nausea and malaise. I have not, and refuse to, seek any other habit-forming drugs from my doctor."

For Chronic Pain "Had been on time-release OxyContin, 20 mg, 2x daily for 2.5 years for severe neuropathy and arthritis in both feet. But insurance changed and had to switch to MS Contin's generic, Morphine ER, 30 mg, twice a day. Was dubious this would be as effective as OxyContin, but has worked like a charm! Been on it for a year now, same dosage. Before time-release pain meds, I was in so much pain. Now, I'm nearly pain-free and it's given me my life back. I can't do too much strenuous walking, but can do things like run errands or take my daughter to the mall. I'm in the process of talking to my doctor about something for breakthrough pain, which hits when I overdo it, or sometimes around the 10-hour mark, and have 2 hours to wait."
