"If you can handle your lady biscuit to be on fire, this is right for you! Their 'mild burning' as a side effect is not mild. It feels like I wiped with a napkin full of hot sauce. Oh my gosh, it's TERRIBLE! I got this to treat my yeast infection, hoping to avoid oral capsules. Applying: uncomfortable, but manageable. The cream they include helped at first. An hour in: Eh, it was sorta burning, but I was still able to manage. I figured, 'hey, this must be the mild burning they warned about.' Four hours in, and it feels like I used Icy Hot on my vagina! It's burning, tingling, & I can literally feel my heartbeat in my vagina! Don't even get me started on peeing - it feels like I'm peeing ghost pepper! Tried showering, then tried to rinse the medication off. Literally to the point of possibly going to the emergency room."

"Felt symptoms of YI coming on (irritation, swelling, and slight discharge). Woke up the very next day with a full-fledged YI. Couldn’t get ahold of my dr right away, so I did something VERY desperate and purchased Monistat 1. This little ball of fire fury is the worst, most lethal thing I think I have ever come across in my life. I went from having a YI to having the fiery depths of lava bubbling inside of my lady bits. It looks like I gave birth again and hurts to walk/sit. Did my best to remove it all after the burning intensified, but I’m still suffering after a whole 24 hours. Not worth the stress, trouble, money, and it does absolutely nothing but make things 1000x worse. Just call your gyno and ask for Diflucan or another prescription option because OTC YI treatment is NOT the way to go."

"So I just put it in 2 hours ago and I’m feeling a tingle/burn sensation. It’s not uncomfortable really. It’s kind of like if you put a mint down there maybe lol. Anyways, this has been way better than when I used the 7-day one, which caused the hellfire everyone talks about. The difference this time is I noticed the YI coming on two days ago and took action today. The other one, I waited like 2 weeks, praying it would go away on its own. I think the sooner you treat, the less it’s going to hurt, because the infection hasn’t gotten too bad yet. So treat as soon as possible, don’t wait because that’s when it hurts!! I’m giving 9 because of the side effects, but they are very mild at that."

"Dear mother of holy hell. I literally feel like the literal goddamn sun is in between my labia. I am in extreme discomfort right now. How is this happening? Why isn't the box bright red with flames to give you a proper warning? Dear Lord. It’s finals week. I might as well dig my grave now."

"OMG... This girl is on fire!!! My lady bits feel like a raging fire pit is brewing down there. Who invented this??? While I appreciate the less mess and one-day option this provides, I can say I may never be able to use my vagina again. I, like many of you, was hoping for the short-term wonder and haven't used this product before. When there is a next time, I will be seeing any doctor to get me the pill - I don't care if they want to check it all out before they prescribe. I have a higher tolerance for pain, and currently, my bits are being iced and my eyes are filled with tears. In for a long night... we shall wait and see if it is worth it. Hopefully, this pain is the yeast infection burning a slow fiery death. Good luck, ladies, and may the odds be in your favor!"

"This product is pure torture! I bought Monistat 1 over the counter for a very minor YI. I had no idea the agony that was ahead of me. I was preparing dinner for a dinner party, and holy hellfire, I suddenly was taken out by the fire in my vagina. I simply could not deal with myself. Not a convenient experience, to say the least. These reviews gave me peace of mind, though it has been about twenty minutes, and I am feeling some relief. I do not recommend."

"I felt a little itchy, so I decided to use a Monistat 7 insert to try to stop anything from getting too bad. A few days later, I knew my YI was just getting worse, and I was over feeling like that. I bought the generic for Monistat 1 and inserted it about 8:30. I was up and down for the next hour while the meds did their thing. Yes, the itch was intense... very intense. No burning, though, and my V is pretty sensitive to everything. However, this morning I'm 100% better. I will take the few hours of intense itching for overall relief."

"I was kind of dreading putting the egg in because I had read all of these comments beforehand, but I had finally worked up the courage to do it. Initially, there was a little bit of burning, but nothing I couldn’t handle. It got better after the first hour, and I can barely feel it. The cream stings more to me. Anyway, I’m already feeling better. The next morning, I would recommend this product, just take a couple of Advil before :)"

"I bought this late last night, and boy, what a fiasco that was. First yeast infection since I was 16. Back then, the only option was a 7-day treatment plan. Decided to speed things up a bit and go with the 1 day. This was around 9 pm. My YI was pretty difficult to deal with, very itchy. So I inserted the ovule pretty immediately once I had returned and used the itch cream. I went to bed and found this page. I about had a panic attack reading some of these reviews. But I fell asleep and just woke up 8 hours later. I did not have any burning or itching or any of the things others have described. Just used the bathroom, and I feel loads better. I would say take the reviews with a grain of salt, some people have a very low pain tolerance or a bad reaction. I didn't have any pain at all with this!"

"DO NOT USE EVER!! This Monistat 1 burns your vagina, your skin, it burns everything down there. Please believe these comments, they are true. I will never use this product ever again. I pray that I never have a YI for a while. If I do, I will definitely try something else or a home remedy!!!!! Stay away from this product, ladies, it’s not worth the burning and the pain after 12 hours."

"I had a very mild case of yeast infection. I usually buy the 7-day, but they were out at the store, so I purchased the 1-day, thinking it would really do the trick because it wasn’t severe. At first, it seemed as if it helped, but as time went on, it began to itch and burn like crazy, so now I’m probably going to purchase the 7-day and start the treatment. I can’t take this."

"I had signs of a yeast infection for a little over a week. I live in a big city, so getting into the GYN takes a while. My bright idea was I’d try Monistat. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY! Sweet Mary and baby Joseph!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before I took the medication (I’m an idiot, I know). When they say "slight itching," someone liiiiiied! It was just a little lie, this stuff itches like that time you had chicken pox and your mom taped oven mitts to your hands. I have an ice pack between my legs and am praying for sleep. I’ll not be using this again. I’d rather wait six months for my GYN to open up. Don’t know if it works as it’s only been four hours, but the itch is so bad!!!!!"

"HELP ME!!! This is quite possibly the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I suffer from chronic UTIs and have a pretty high pain tolerance when it comes to my vag. At least I thought... I bought the 1-day cream and before I even finished the whole tube, my entire vagina was on fire. It’s taken everything in me not to take myself to the ER. It’s currently 2 am and I can’t sleep due to the pain... never again."

"I wish I would have seen this before inserting this thing in me. The pain is unbearable, and I literally had to run to the shower to wash my vagina area. I’m still in pain, and it has been over 2 hours now. It hurts and should not be on the market. I’m sorry, but it shouldn’t."

"I have had a mild yeast infection for about a week because I was hoping it would just go away. It didn't, so I decided to buy some Monistat-1. I've heard the bad reviews, but some say Monistat 1 is supposed to be better. I luckily decided to try the itch cream first to see if I would have a reaction, and BOY did I! After like 40 seconds, it felt like my vulva was on FIRE. It is so itchy! So I wiped it off with wet wipes, but the burning remains, even though I wiped it off. About to take a cold shower. I'm SO glad I didn't put this actual treatment in my vagina because I wouldn't be able to bear this insatiable burning/itching on my vulva AND inside my vag. Don't be like me, just go to the doctor and get a prescription!"

"Let me start off by saying I NEVER write reviews. But I’m a total hypocrite because I rely on them before I decide to purchase a product. After figuring out I had a yeast infection and figuring out Monistat was obviously the way to go, I didn’t hesitate when I saw the 1-day experience. After reading through many of the posts, I was hesitant to use the product and decided to sleep on it. I decided today that I would bear the brunt of the burning that everyone is talking about if it meant quick relief. I assumed that I would be like the majority and would suffer the negative side effects. I inserted the product around 5:30 PM, and I am through the two-hour window that most people claim is when the extreme burning starts. I’ve been on the couch, and the only thing I’ve noticed is the itching, which I’ve been working with, so nothing new. You might be surprised to find, like me, you won’t suffer negatively at all!"

"I always use Monistat 1 day ovule just because it's one and done for me, no 3-day and 7-day business, and never the creams, yuck! This product is good. It does work, unfortunately, you just have to deal with itching and burning the first couple of days, and then it usually winds down as the infection starts to clear. I waited a week before I started treatment, and it seems the longer you wait, the worse the side effects, but it is effective... so hang in there, try to power through because relief will be there waiting in the end."

"I took this medication a week ago and am still suffering the side effects. I blistered, and my vagina got so swollen I can hardly urinate. I am wondering when this is going to end, as it has been 7 days."

"Not my first YI rodeo. First time using the ovule. Intense burning. Where is the sandpaper when you need it! I was on fire before, but OMG! I sucked it up, the next day was better. Today, day 3, very minor symptoms. I guess if you want to only use a one-day cure, there will be more medication, and it seems like more burning. So if you can't handle it, use the 3 or 7-day treatment."

"Grabbed Monistat 1, trying to go the quicker and lazy route, and wish now I had seen these reviews beforehand. I genuinely thought something was wrong with me prior to reading these. My outer areas itch me SO badly (worse than they did prior to Monistat) that I want to get rid of it because surely that pain would be less than the incessant burning itching. Will never ever use again!! You’ve been warned :|"

"I can highly recommend this product to anyone eager for the sensation of shoving a tampon soaked in napalm up your twat, then experiencing an internal nuclear fallout for the next 10-12 hours. Last night I inserted this at around 8. By 8:30, I was squatting in front of the freezer crying. This went on for HOURS. Thank goodness for the women on this thread who posted their experiences. Otherwise, I would’ve gone to the ER. Perhaps by ambulance, I can’t know for sure. If you’ve come here to find out if your vagina will survive, the good news is it will. But it’ll take a good 12 hours to stop burning. I’m still tender and swollen this morning. I was only able to sleep last night because I found leftover pain medication from a dental procedure. I will never use this product ever again."

"As a woman, it is bound to happen! I have had YI before, so I am very well aware of the early symptoms. I went to my local drug store and purchased the Monistat 1 Ovule package because I have tried a different version before and unfortunately experienced the awful pain as read in other women's reviews. I figured I'd give this version a go because Monistat is the most common recommended OTC YI medication. I inserted the ovule about 2 hours ago and have experienced no discomfort whatsoever. I even applied the cream right away to help with any itching or burning that may occur instantly after application. I have not experienced any discomfort in the last two hours, only relief! Will purchase again and recommend."

"Yo, ladies, I’m praying you read these before you used this product that is straight out of a volcano, but I’m assuming you were like me and probably didn’t think to do so. I’ve used Monistat 3 before, so I thought Monistat 1 wouldn’t be any different. I WAS WRONG. Just as the other comments say, the first hour I was totally fine. Then, out of nowhere, it was like Satan himself attacked my V with the fires of Hell. I’m in so much pain I could literally cry. The original discomfort of the YI was much less painful than this. PLEASE TAKE THIS OFF THE SHELVES!!!!!"

"Let’s paint you a picture: You are peacefully in a deep slumber, drifting in a forest with beams of sunlight peeking through, kissing your skin. Suddenly, at 3:45 am, you are awakened by what could only be Zeus and Hades fighting in your womb. Thunderbolts and hellfire ripping your uterus and labia to shreds. You are reminded that you inserted an egg of death lined with ghost pepper powder into your lady bit prior to drifting off into paradise. All you can do is cup your poor lady part and pray that the nuclear warfare ceases. Twenty minutes pass by, now you’re worried that maybe this is an adverse reaction, so you do what any sane person does: research for reviews, only to find that there is a tribe of women that also had their vaginas doused in the nectar of 852 demons wrung out into one cup. Eventually, I fell back asleep, only to wake with an immense fear of unclenching my biscuit and molten wasp venom seeping out. All I’m saying is, call your doctor and get the tiny magic pill instead."

"Yes, it burns, but that's how you know it's working! This is my third time using this particular one, and I recommend it over the Monistat 3 or 7. It's only one night of burning and maybe a little bit the next morning. But it works! And for $20, it's a lot less expensive than paying for a doctor's visit."
