Monistat (miconazole) "No, just no! I have used Monistat 1 and 3-day in the past, several years ago, and never, I mean NEVER have I had this current experience. Immediate burning and itching that made me want to jump up and down, holding my hooha, and run to the freezer to find an ice pack! Disclaimer: do not insert a popsicle, no matter how appealing this may sound to you if you are experiencing the burning I experience #YeastInfectionOnRoids. Of course, the itching from my YI felt so much better after just the first Monistat syringe! My vag was completely desensitized from the itching and burning the Monistat caused. I’d love to know what and why Monistat changed in their product. Feels like I slathered ghost pepper, habanero, wasabi sauce on my cooch."

Monistat (miconazole) "Ugh! First time ever experiencing a YI so I did the day 1 the ovule! I couldn't hold my pee in and some cream came out! I was going crazy and thinking it wasn’t going to work. Moments later the burning and itching started! The only thing that is making me feel better is reading all these comments knowing I'm not alone! Also first time using Monistat don’t think I'll use it again"

Monistat 7 (miconazole) "After taking antibiotics for BV, I felt like I was getting a yeast infection, so I got Monistat 7. I used it externally the first day, which burned for a while, then felt better. When I inserted it at bedtime, the burning started again. I have not used Monistat in many years, but I remember it as soothing, not painful. I don't know what they changed about it, but they need to change it back. After about an hour, the burning seems to have let up a little. From reading all the other reviews, at least I know I'm not the only one who is experiencing discomfort. On the upside, I got a little comic relief from some of the reviews. Not that I think everyone's pain is funny, but some of the descriptions are very colorful. Seriously, they need to fix this product because it didn't use to hurt this much. Update: the burning was not as bad the second night. I think after the medication had a couple of days to heal me, the rawness from the infection was better and therefore less burning. The burning on the third night was very minimal."

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "I have read through many comments. I have been using Monistat products for years. It takes three days. No matter which product you are using, for a yeast infection to start clearing up and 7 days for completion. So whether you are using a pill, egg, cream, garlic, oil, or oregano... three days. Upon insertion on the first day, you will get backlash fire pits of hell feeling. This is the medication attacking the yeast infection. It will burn, sting, throb, swell your lips, and itch 10 times more. Do your treatments at night. Wear a thin panty liner. Use the lotion 3 times a day. Be brave... lol come on, ladies."

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "I was TERRIFIED of using Monistat after reading the comments, but fortunately I didn't have the horrible burning. I had more problems getting the suppository inside. After about 2 mins, it started itching, but I just used the cream on the outside, and all was good. I laid down and waited what seemed like forever for the burning to start, but it didn't. I felt a few tingles but no burning. Just try it for yourself, everybody is different."

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "I had to take a 7-day course of antibiotics for a UTI and started noticing that dreaded itch and pain down yonder. I decided since this has happened in the past, to use the tube filled cream inserts. At first, it was uncomfortable just sticking anything up there, but I didn’t feel any worse. I went to bed and woke up around 2:30 am to pee, but when I got back into bed, HOLY MOLY! I’m guessing being upright and sitting on the toilet let some of the cream run down, and NO ONE IS EXAGGERATING!! I thought someone doused my insides with acid! I've sat here reading and laughing at all your reviews in between pulsating rounds of hell, knowing I was not insane all the while clutching at my vag, trying hard not to scream in pain. It’s now 4 am, and although sleep-deprived and traumatized, the burning and pain have subsided gradually. Stick it out if you can, if not, you’ll eventually pass out from the pain and get some sleep"

Monistat 7 (miconazole) "Read this all the way through please, I have used monistat plenty of time to tell you that IF IT IS BURNING THEN ITS NOT A YEAST INFECTION!!! It maybe as STI or just an ordinary bacterial infection like BV and you should go to your doctor. Monistat works for me. And I’m not say this like I’m an expert on yeast and vaginas, but I know that Monistat ONLY works on yeast, and that alone.."

Monistat 1 Combination Pack (miconazole) "The only thing getting me through this literal nightmare of a situation is reading these comments and knowing I’m not alone. I took Monistat 1 when I was younger and I’m not sure if my pain tolerance has lowered after childbirth, or if they changed the formula, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT. Unless you want to be up at 2 am holding yourself with a wash rag trying to search ways to get the demon out of you."

I almost went to the ER. 2nd day not so bad, but now I'm on my 3rd day and the burning with intense itching is back!! So uncomfortable, I can barely stand it... I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through the whole 7 days..."

Monistat 7 (miconazole) "I have had a yeast infection before and used Monistat 1, which is the pill-like insertion, and it was heaven! It went away so fast, no burning, no smearing, no discomfort. This time I got the infection again, like 2 years later, and I got Monistat 7, and oh my goodness, it's a literal living nightmare. It makes it so itchy, and I was squirming for like 10 minutes because I couldn't stand the irritation. I had to wipe it completely off, and I'm trying to pee it out because it's making it worse. I would never recommend Monistat 7 to anybody, always Monistat 1, ladies!!!"

The burning and itching intensified by 10,000 five minutes after inserting it and is VERY SLOWLY calming down, and it’s driving me insane! I wish I would have read the reviews first. Not recommended."

Monistat (miconazole) "This is insane! The excruciating burning and swelling I am going through is 10 times worse than the itching and burning from the infection. There is no way in high heaven that a female doctor had anything to do with this menace to vaginas everywhere. I am lying in bed after trying to wash off as much of this as I could, and now with an ice pack directly in between my legs! This should not even be on the market anymore because I've been reading these awful reviews from last year. What the heck? Monistat, take us seriously! Do not use this product if you value your sanity and are not into self-torture."

Monistat (miconazole) "I get yeast infections frequently, and I have always just used generic brands. I never had a bad experience. Yesterday, I bought Monistat for the first time ever, and I will never use it again because it put me in so much pain. Usually, I just insert the generic brand and go right to sleep, but not even a minute after I started feeling a burning/scratching sensation, and it kept getting worse. I wasn’t even scratching myself, and my lady bits started to swell. I tried to get as much as I could out of me, and then the only reason I was able to fall asleep was that I laid a cold compress on myself. I even woke up this morning, and right away, I felt fine until I went to the bathroom, and the burning sensation started again, and I began to swell. I will never use this product again, and I don’t think any women should. Any girl reading this, you need to just get a generic brand because you will get rid of your yeast infection pain-free."

It says that this is something that occurs! Just take the full 3 days and you should be fine! It’s the medicine working."

Monistat 7 (miconazole) "I used this product, Monistat 7, for three days. The first night I was fine, then night two everything was on fire. The third night I couldn't go through it anymore, so I went to the ER. Everything was five times the size down there, and it was on fire - I was in so much pain. You know what I don’t understand? Why can they keep selling this stuff if there are so many girls saying this is happening to them?"

"I'm 30 years old and had my first yeast infection in my life. I wasn't sure what to use, so I bought the Miconazole 1200 mg. About 15 minutes after insertion, I had a terrible itching and burning, so awful I couldn't sit still. I thought I was having a reaction to it until I read everyone's comments."

A tribe has shown up at my house believing there was a smoke signal. It is 1:16 AM, and the fire department has sent in backup."

Monistat 1 Combination Pack (miconazole) "Monistat should be ashamed for putting this on shelves. I took it at about 10 PM and woke up at midnight feeling like someone had sprayed an entire can of pepper spray on my vagina, then lit a match. I literally googled “unbearable burning, itching, and pain after Monistat.” DO NOT USE IT. I am writing this review while laying in the shower, vagina up, trying to rinse this godforsaken stuff out of my vagina."

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "First and second nights with Monistat 3 were pure torture. Intense burning. I literally couldn't sleep, that's how bad it was. I used the external cream and thought that was making things worse, my poor vag was hanging and swollen. I could barely walk. I decided to just stick with it. Sitting in a tub of hot water helped, which is weird relief to a burning vag. I only noticed relief when I washed up for bed. I guess the burn means it's working. After the second night, my swelling went down. I could walk without looking like a cowboy. The third night of treatment was the best night in comparison. There was mild burning, but I could get some sleep. I've completed the 3-day treatment. I still have a little itchiness and soreness. I will continue to use the cream on the outside 2 times a day until my itchiness goes away. Despite the lava journey, it seemed to work. They lose major stars for the pain. They need to get back in the lab and develop a gentler approach or at least provide numbing cream. Sheesh!"

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "Night one is very intense, burning and itching immediately, makes you want to crawl out of your skin. It lasted maybe 15-20 min, then it subsided. The next morning I felt better, all the symptoms slowed down. You must wear a panty liner throughout the day. Night 2 and 3 were much better!!! Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. It works, but you must suffer a bit."

Monistat (miconazole) "Truly would not wish this type of pain on my worst enemy. It’s currently 4 AM, and my “cookie” is on fire. I’ve been up for hours, and I can’t go back to sleep because the discomfort is so bad. I used the 3-day Monistat with hopes of it actually healing me, but I most definitely screwed up. I don’t think my yeast infection is gone, and my cookie is probably ruined forever. Not sure how this product is on shelves and also unsure how Google sites actually recommended this flame-throwing product to women. I haven’t had a yeast infection before, so I thought this type of pain was somewhat normal. Turns out Monistat is just utter garbage and wants our cookies to burn to char. If you’re thinking about using Monistat, you may as well just take some poison ivy and a match to your cookie. You’ll feel about the same."

Monistat 3 (miconazole) "I’ve only ever used doctor-prescribed medication to get rid of a YI. I didn’t have time to go to the doctor, so I went to the drug store and got Monistat 3. I had no idea what to expect, but I inserted as directed. After a couple of minutes, the burning and itching were unbearable. I thought for sure something was wrong, so I got up and read the box. Some burning and itching can occur. It’s a nightmare. But it’s doing its job. Thank goodness for all these comments that let me know that I’m not alone. But I want my YI gone, so I will do this for the other two doses!!!"

Monistat 1 Combination Pack (miconazole) "I used this product last night, and after about an hour, I was in severe discomfort. The burning was like nothing I experienced before, my skin down there was on fire, really painful. I can’t believe that a medication to treat itching and burning could be so abrasive. I eventually took OTC pain meds (ibuprofen and Tylenol) and a cold compress to get to sleep. Today is better, and the original itching is basically gone. But you really have to go through the fire to get to the relief. Hope the folks at Monistat will work on a gentler formulation that would be just as effective."
