Methamphetamine "This is the best medicine that I have taken for my condition. I took it for years because of narcolepsy mainly, but I have a shortened attention span also. Never had a problem with it. Never needed to increase the 10 mg dosage per day. With my doctor retiring and new doctors obsessed with Provigil, I've had nothing but problems in all directions. From my prescription plan not wanting to pay for the 800 mg per day that I need to take to the performance of the medicine. I also have to take 36 mg of Concerta."

For ADHD "Methamphetamine is very effective when compared to several other meds, including Adderall, Vyvanse, Dexedrine, or Ritalin. The others gave me various side effects and all had a bad comedown. Desoxyn has been relatively mild in comparison and works well throughout my day. Using the Hikma/Westward generic version from Walgreens."

"After having tried literally every stimulant for narcolepsy, methamphetamine is the only one that doesn't make me feel like complete garbage. For a long time, I was on 120 mg of Adderall, and it made me extremely angry and depressed. I later tried multiple ER stimulants, and they never kept me awake. This is the only stimulant that I don't feel terrible on. The first day I took it, it made my teeth hurt really bad, but it's been getting better, and I wear a nightguard for my teeth just in case. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done, and it's the only one that doesn't make me want to pick at my skin. Methamphetamine doesn't give me the urge to pick at anything. I still get slightly agitated towards the evening, but nothing compared to other stimulants. It keeps me calm and awake (for the most part). I'm currently on 40 mg/day - I take 20 mg when I wake up and 20 mg later on in the day, and it's been doing a good job of keeping me alert and awake."

For ADHD "It has been the only med to stabilize my head for 25 years. It's pricey but swingable with RX coupons since my insurance only covers 40%. It is now on 'backorder' for over 2 months with no word on when or if it will be back."

Methamphetamine for ADHD "I don't get all the hype for this drug. I took Desoxyn for a few weeks but never really noticed much of an effect, other than maybe a little help for focusing on personal projects. I am diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, but maybe this drug works better for people with the combined or hyperactive types. It made my stomach feel weird, but didn't have any other major side effects. Definitely not worth the ridiculous price tag. Hard pass."

For ADHD "DeSoxyn works GREAT, better than other stimulants that made me tired. I finally talked my APRN at the bx health office into it, and then they shut down NO NOTICE when COVID hit. I had to COLD TURKEY detox off Rexulti and DeSoxyn DURING A PANDEMIC while getting laid off after my sister died and my mom was diagnosed with cancer… ummmm hello!?!?"

For ADHD "24-year-old male here. Wish I could explain my full 6-year story and share advice and words of support, but there’s a char limit. My experience: 1. Adderall didn’t work, caused anxiety at higher doses (IR & XR). 2. Concerta 36 helped a little. 54 genuinely worked… for the first 2 days. 3. Focalin lived up to its claims. More tolerable & effective. I still couldn’t work like a normal person. 4. “Final showdown” time. Requested a month of Desoxyn, then a month of Dexedrine. 5. Lots of experimenting (within FDA guidelines). I found them to be the 2 most effective, with Desoxyn winning. (Um… no idea why 3:1 AMP salts combo did nothing.) It’s neither magical nor scary. I’d say #1 for efficacy, #2 for tolerability (2nd to Focalin). Feels similar overall to other ADHD meds. Only anomaly was mild euphoria the first 2 days. Less addictive than coffee. Only “big W” could order it. Even on this, I still struggle. But it’s the best I’ve got."

For ADHD "I have had a great experience with Adderall. It helps me focus. It also helps me fight against obesity. I take a lot of psychotropic drugs for a mental health condition. This medicine has caused me weight gain, especially antidepressants. I never had weight issues before taking them when I was diagnosed at 50. I have taken this drug for 16 years. The only issue is getting the prescription filled. It is a controlled substance."

For ADHD "I was in 8th grade. I had no problems other than ADD. My doctor prescribed this to me. I was on it for a few years. After a few weeks, it was hectic. I’d take them and be super sensitive to light. My head would be pounding. I’d sleep in the middle of the floor in a pitch-dark room just because the cold felt nice on my pounding head. If it wasn’t that, it was hot and cold flashes. When I didn’t take them, I'd have super bad breathing problems, and I’d panic. The littlest thing would set me off. I’m now 20 years old. I have major anxiety problems that started when I stopped taking it. Of course, most of my anxiety disorders were personal experience and trauma, but my main anxiety, the random attacks, were caused by this medication."

For ADHD "I have been on Adderall for three years, XR 30 mg. I'm now taking 2 30s a day. I used to take crank and meth most of my life. I think Desoxyn may help me feel more normal instead of being annoying and not trying. Also, I tend to talk too much."

For ADHD "I have been clean off of meth since March 9, 2007. I am shocked that this is prescribed. Please be careful, everybody, it does feel good at first and helps you lose weight, but it will turn on you. It is evil that appears in beauty."

Methamphetamine for ADHD "This medication is not indicated for ADHD or ADD in adults. It is neurotoxic and highly addictive. Comments to the contrary are idiotic. As an attorney, I've seen dozens of parents choose Desoxyn ('methamphetamine') over their kids. It should only be used as a last resort for central sleep disorders such as narcolepsy. Even for narcolepsy, the maximum indicated dose is 60 mg, not 70."
