Methamphetamine for ADHD "Desoxyn changed my life. I've tried: Ritalin, Concerta, Wellbutrin, Adderall, Dexedrine, Vyvanse. They all warped my soul. Horrible side effects that I struggled with for years. Anger, hostility, lack of empathy, sleeplessness, depression, blunted personality. But I couldn't function without them. Desoxyn is the first treatment that works and doesn't destroy my humanity. I feel like me. I can take a nap on it! Impossible with the other medications. It makes me feel calm, sharp & focused, no anxiety... it's very smooth & under the radar. It is not tweaky or stimulating at all (*cough* Adderall). Without a doubt the most BENIGN and EFFECTIVE medication I've ever tried. It's a shame the drug war and DEA pressure / social stigma is preventing this medication from being prescribed to people who need it. If you are struggling like I was you owe it to yourself to try this medication. If you are a clinician reading this, please find it in your heart to prescribe this to your patients."

Methamphetamine for ADHD "I have tried Adderall, Dexedrine, Ritalin, and other formulations... all of which had issues. Adderall was the worst, or most notable at least, due to the extreme anger, frustration, tendency towards violence, physical tension, and horrible comedowns. I cannot tolerate more than 20-30mg of this medication, period. Ritalin, on the other hand, was very good for some tasks like school work and math problems. However, it dulled my emotions and made me feel less 'like me'? Desoxyn feels smooth, positive, and had the least negative physical side effects. The focus was not as intense as other amphetamines, but I felt that it allowed me to have more control over my emotions than any other ADHD medication... while feeling sober."

Methamphetamine "I have idiopathic hypersomnia and no stimulant worked for me prior to Desoxyn. I haven’t had to increase my dose (40 mg/day), and for the first time I’m not on an off-label dose. I feel calmer on it, it boosts my mood, I have more of an appetite on it (compared to others), and it keeps me awake! The only downside to this medication is how difficult it can be to obtain. My insurance changed, and it was a battle to get 40 mg approved, and it cost more. I’m scared to ever switch again because it’s a constant battle when it comes to insurance. I’ve had to go on many a medical treasure hunt to get it due to the name’s bad reputation. I can start/stop it no problem. I’ve never felt high on it or craved it. It doesn’t make me angry, super irritable, or depressed. It’s by far the best I’ve tried for IH!"

"After having tried literally every stimulant for narcolepsy, methamphetamine is the only one that doesn't make me feel like complete garbage. For a long time, I was on 120 mg of Adderall, and it made me extremely angry and depressed. I later tried multiple ER stimulants, and they never kept me awake. This is the only stimulant that I don't feel terrible on. The first day I took it, it made my teeth hurt really bad, but it's been getting better, and I wear a nightguard for my teeth just in case. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done, and it's the only one that doesn't make me want to pick at my skin. Methamphetamine doesn't give me the urge to pick at anything. I still get slightly agitated towards the evening, but nothing compared to other stimulants. It keeps me calm and awake (for the most part). I'm currently on 40 mg/day - I take 20 mg when I wake up and 20 mg later on in the day, and it's been doing a good job of keeping me alert and awake."
