For Bowel Preparation "Took the first dose of Suprep at 5 pm and could not make it through the 16 oz before vomit, stomach pains. Drank as much water down as I could, which was about 16 1/4 oz. About 45 min later, projectile vomited, called the doctor’s office, they said to keep going with the second dose in the morning. Two hours later, started passing diarrhea, had four short visits to the restroom. Fell asleep, minor nauseous, woke up at 1 am for the bathroom and drank some water, nausea was pretty much gone. At 6 am, started the second dose. At this point, I was still passing regular diarrhea. I could only get down half the dose before stomach pains, so I stopped and switched to water. Did not want to throw up my second dose. Thirty to forty min later, I was good enough to try again, but only got about three gulps. Drank the rest of the 32 oz of water. By 9:20 am, was running clear/yellow with minimal particles. I am not a fan of this prep or process, but so thankful that I made it through."

For Bowel Preparation "Prep was okay. After the colonoscopy and now 5 days later, I am still having diarrhea, stomach distended, grumbling, chills, loss of appetite, and major dehydration. I had to go to the ER for a CT scan and hydration. No bowel perforation - thank goodness. (Had one 10 years ago). The adverse effects are awful, and the doctors don’t know what to do for me. Anybody have this?"

For Bowel Preparation "This medicine has a chalky grape flavor. It wasn't bad at first, but got to the point I had a lot of trouble drinking all of it and not puking it up. It comes with 2 bottles you mix with water. After you drink one bottle, you have to drink 16 oz of water and then drink the 2nd bottle, and then drink another 16 oz of water. I had a lot of trouble not puking after the first round. I don't know if I drank all that stuff too quickly or what because there were no instructions on how to drink the water time-wise. I couldn't drink all the water on the 2nd round. I got really sick trying not to vomit and shaking. The kit gives you diarrhea in about 30 mins after drinking. I took it at 6 pm and still had diarrhea the next morning. It subsided that afternoon. Little cramps."

For Bowel Preparation "I am 64 and have had colonoscopies every five years or so since my late 20s. Bar none, this was the absolute worst experience with a prep ever, including when I had to chug 4 oz of castor oil. Took Suprep 2 hours earlier than suggested, 4 pm instead of 6 pm “just in case.” Sure enough, at 10 pm, still absolutely nothing. After researching online, I decided to move up the second stage from 6 am (the next morning) to 10:30 pm the day before the colonoscopy. That kickstarted everything throughout the night into the next morning, but never a ton of action despite gallons of fluid intake. I got to the procedure at 12 noon and told them I hoped I was clear enough. After the procedure, the dr said I was 90% clear, but he couldn’t be sure he saw everything, even after introducing some water to help flush out more. I may need to repeat the procedure sooner than five years as a result. Today, 10 hours after the procedure, I’m still evacuating liquid, like others who complained of lasting diarrhea."

For Bowel Preparation "Took Suprep prep for colonoscopy on 2/3/2020. I’ve had three previous colonoscopies. All three previous, the prep was only the night before. I drank the second half of Suprep at 4 am, arrived at the doctor’s office at 8 am. I began to feel lightheaded, started seeing spots, and got a pounding headache. The nurse took me back and said the prep may have caused dehydration. She said IV fluids would help. She had trouble locating a suitable vein for IV due to dehydration. After finally finding a good vein and starting fluids, the side effects subsided. The taste isn’t pleasing, I downed the prep both times in one gulp to avoid the taste. My doctor said the prep worked and I was clear for the exam. Unfortunately, it’s 11 pm, and I still have diarrhea. Hoping it’s gone by tomorrow. The stuff works, but for me, it’s harsh!"

For Bowel Preparation "The Suprep bowel prep, to me, tasted horrible. I was so nauseous and wanted to throw up just from the taste alone. 10-15 minutes later, the nausea got worse and I felt like I had Montezuma's revenge (diarrhea suffered by travelers)."

For Bowel Preparation "I had constant explosive diarrhea for four months (7 to 9 explosions of diarrhea daily with no solid food). Took Plenvu, which is 16 oz of med followed by 16 oz of water the day before and morning of the procedure. Thought I was going to die, the pain and cramps were so bad! The mango taste actually tasted like rotten mangos. After all of that, the colonoscopy had to be canceled due to incomplete cleansing of the colon. Found out four months later the CT of the abdomen was misread, and I actually had 2 bowel obstructions! The colonoscopy prep, as well as the colonoscopy, could have seriously injured me because the radiologist with supposedly 30+ years of experience “missed” 2 bowel obstructions! Changed gastroenterologist and changed prep to Suprep."

For Bowel Preparation "This is the best prep by far. I did the gallon stuff and vomited like you wouldn't believe. I did the Miralax Gatorade one and vomited all the time. This was a piece of cake. No vomiting at all. Lots of drinking with this. Started at 8 a.m. and the diarrhea started about 15 minutes. It quit by noon at the most. I take the last bottle at 8 p.m. I don't expect any problems either. I'm 69 and a semi-invalid and I made it to the toilet in plenty of time. Mine was berry flavored and didn't taste bad at all."

For Bowel Preparation "First off, I recommend you begin drinking this on the toilet. I also recommend disposable briefs for when you do finally leave the bathroom to catch the explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea that you’ll experience. Took this as prescribed for my colonoscopy. I tried this with both water and ginger ale; neither was very palatable (pretty disgusting, actually), but it gets the job done. Works extremely effectively."

For Bowel Preparation "Doing this bowel prep for EGD/colonoscopy tomorrow. Started with a pre-cleanout Wednesday night with a 10 oz bottle of Mag Citrate. Pretty much cleaned out from that. Was told by MD (due to my severe constipation) to be on clear liquids Thursday and Friday. Literally felt like I was going to kill for food. 3 pm. Mixed the first bottle of bowel prep with Sprite. Followed others' advice and had it all chilled in the fridge. Worked on my 32 oz of lemon-lime Gatorade now. Tummy already making diarrhea noises. The drink was nasty. Plugged my nose and chugged it down, followed by some chugs of Gatorade, brushed my teeth, and chewed some mint gum. Will update..... dun dun dun."

For Bowel Preparation "Now I know what it feels like to have cholera. Seriously. Ever seen the TurboLax scene in Dumb and Dumber? Well, this is worse. It tastes like chewing aspirin and immediately gave me a headache and nausea. The diarrhea started about 30 minutes later and hadn't stopped by the time I had to take the next dose. Golytely made me horribly sick to my stomach, but I'm not sure that this is better. Even with this, I had to starve myself all day. Next time, I'll just starve myself for a few days."

For Bowel Preparation "Tastes awful. Better to drink it all down in one go rather than taking small sips. Shat myself a little later because I thought it was only gas. Spent the next 45 minutes shitting liquid."

For Bowel Preparation "It tastes awful. I got the water down fine. I had two doses, and I had violent diarrhea with both. I hope it’s good for tomorrow. I’m not doing this again, and I’m dizzy."

For Bowel Preparation "1st dose went down within 25 minutes. Lots of juice in between sips. Taste is terrible! Shooting clear poop by 2nd poop. 2nd dose only able to consume 1/2 due to nausea. Everyone mentions using wipes since your bum is sore from going so much. Frankly, I didn’t go much... the very 1st poop was like razor-sharp shrapnel cutting my bum. I begged my doctor for an alternative, she said no. I suffer from IBS-D... lots of diarrhea. I didn’t feel I needed the prep at all. And frankly, I wasn’t far off. I only consumed about 4 oz on 2nd dose. Doctor said I was very clean, which further angered me and proved someone should have listened. The whole experience was humiliating, intrusive, and difficult."
